in a recent ask you posted with a bunch of awesome pictures of your conservation work, what kind of boots are you wearing in the second picture? they look amazingly comfortable!
They ARE amazingly comfortable! :) Those are my favorite workboots I've ever owned! They're the Irish Setter "Elk Tracker" boot, and while they're definitely pricy, they've lasted longer than any of my other fieldwork boots. They've got great insulation & waterproofing, and a ton of calf and ankle support - the brush guards are super helpful for not getting foliage/sticks in your laces & boot. They're also tall (12 inches) which is usually a necessity if you're doing work with saws and need to meet USFS sawyer PPE standards!

I am now taking orders for printed booklets of "The Traveler's Warning." Orders will close on May 5th, 2023, and booklets will ship from May 14th-May 24th.
Q: What is the booklet going to look like?
- A: It will be saddle-stitch bound, and 8 pages including the cover! I'm printing on 100# cover, glossy paper. The dimensions are 6"x9.5" and the pages will be full color, front and back.
Q: Are you going to ship internationally!
- A: Yes!
Q: Why the limited window of opportunity?
- A: As you might have guessed, I have a remote summer job lined up! I want to make sure I'll have plenty of time to fulfill orders before I go back into the wild.
Q: Will you ever offer prints of this comic again?
- A: That will for sure depend on the demand, & my ability to access facilities over the summer & into the fall.
Q: What if I want a print type that's not a booklet, or is a certain size & dimension?
- A: If that's the case, I'm offering a print-ready PDF for sale, as well! This is the full quality resolution, at 6"x9.5" and 400 DPI, and is in CMYK color. You can create the print your heart desires ♥️
As a postscript, I am so touched that so many people have recognized themselves & their experiences in this comic! I created that art from the feeling of alienation that accompanies radical transformation, & the loneliness of not being able to communicate an experience that big. The fact that a huge multitude of people have identified that emotion tells me it's not so alien, after all. Much love & solidarity to all you travelers out there, in whatever kind of wandering you choose.
