Columbia University - Tumblr Posts
When the rest of the world looks at the united states right now, we see a government who sends billions to support genocide but cannot help their own people starving on the streets.
We see a police force who won't go in to save children from school shootings, but deploy at a rapid rate to arrest peaceful protestors using their right to free speech to protest a genocide
America, you are a war mongering snake eating your own tail. You will protect and support war criminals in another country but let your own people starve and die
To the students bravely protesting now, we see your strength. We see what we saw when students protested the Vietnam War. We have faith you will prevail
FUCK YEAH COLUMBIA UNI STUDENTS!!!!!!
the Columbia University arrests are worse than they seem. They're arresting protesting students for trespassing. It goes without saying students cannot meaningfully "trespass" in the common areas of a university they attend. So Columbia University has suspended all student protestors from their institution, in the process revoking their access to housing, their belongings, and most crucially damaging their academic futures. We are witnessing full scale silencing and removal of anyone of conscience from the next generation of academia.

September 2, 2024 - On the first day of fall classes the Alma Mater statue on the steps of the library at Columbia University was drenched in red paint, as protests continue against the school’s financial support for Israel and the repression of pro-Palestine voices while Israel's barbaric USA-supported genocide goes on unabated. Am Faith from Gaza 🍉🇵🇸 ..I need your help if you can, my house was destroyed during the war. We lost everything, my family and I did not have anything left. We left our homes in search of a safe place, and we were displaced three times to different places to survive, but unfortunately there's no safe place in Gaza. I am also battling Type 1 Diabetes which is very expensive for me to get my insulin injection but just requesting support from my friends. My mother is also very sick and she's a kidney failure patient in need of treatment outside. She suffers from LS. Help me and my family to survive. Please, your small donation can make a huge difference. A friend outside Gaza has come in to help me run the donation program so that my mother can be evacuated. You can reach me for more clarification.
Medication: $555/$700
KINDLY SUPPORT ME HERE TO GET MY MEDICATION AND SAVE LIFE IN GAZA
The most difficult decision for us was to leave our country, to leave Gaza, to overcome the obstacles we faced and the losses we suffered, and to start a new life from scratch. 💔💔
Columbia student reporters are showing more bravery and integrity than Shafik. The protestors are embodying democracy more than the fucking president of their university.
Listen to Columbia’s student radio here or on FM radio at 89.9 WKCR.
And yet, some will still claim: “The protests are antisemitic!”
