This Is OLD But I Dont Mind How It Turned Out.

This is OLD but I don’t mind how it turned out.

Deborah Sampson was a fierce woman, did you know that when she was shot in a leg she begged her fellow soldiers to leave her to die (so they would not discover that she was in fact a woman in disguise) only to escape from the doctors when her companions didn’t listen to her (good boys). She removed the bullets HERSELF?! She was HARDCORE.

Oh and she tried to enlist a couple of times, because at first a fellow citizen recognized her and so she had to try her luck in another city.

Many women fought in the American Revolution disguised as men, only to be sent home without any recognitions when they were discovered. Deborah managed to pass as a man and was still serving after the battle of Yorktown. Then she fell ill and was discovered by her doctor. The doctor was “kinda” forced to reveal the whole thing to her superior officer, but he hid her with his daughter until she was well enough to leave. Her boss was chiller than most since he honorably discharged her (!!!) and years later he was one of her supporters when it was time to ask for a military pension (more precisely one for soldiers that had been hurt in the lines of duty... Deborah’s leg never fully recovered from being shot).

Oh and when she enlisted she was put in a special corp formed only by the most machos dudes ever, because she was judeged to be fitter and stronger than most men.

I love her.
