Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from the Cookie Reapers AU!

I thought it would be fun to show you how the holidays have been going in general for the cookies this time around. I'm aware that not everybody is here, but I might have something up soon enough.

Also, if you have anything to ask or say about the holidays in the AU, I'd love to hear it in the inbox or suggestions! These questions, comments, and theories that I've read genuinely surprised me and made me laugh at times. I hope I can see a few more of these gems in the future, though you don't have to feel forced to say something.

So I'm currently stuck in AU creating hell

First post on the Cookie Reapers AU in a WHILE (not too long, but not short, either)

(This has explanations for each, so heads up on whatever I say to explain them)

Okay, so I was figuring out how to put custom stuff on the cookie comic creator but then I realized that it only accepted a file format that I couldn't use for what I made. So here's some lovely little sprite edits with expressions I wanted:

The first of my attempts: what I like to call Espresso Cookie's "demon face." Not the best, but not bad, either. It's actually pretty close to what I wanted. Basically, when Espresso gets REALLY mad, he'll give this scary look instinctively to tell others to shut up or back off.

A very simple one. Just a little thinking or curious expression for Healer Cookie.

Okay, I won't give too much away with this one, but this would be reserved for scenes where things are about to get bad for him. Usually he leaves soon after this sprite would be used.

Lastly, but certainly not leastly, Wizard Cookie's "ill" state. The reason why he looks so pale and/or dull? Since it's not much of a spoiler, I'll just say that he'll look this way if his "little" problem isn't looked at by Licorice Cookie soon enough.

Okay, I know the Cookie Reapers AU primarily revolves around Wizard Cookie and Licorice Cookie but here's some stuff I just now think I have figured out--

I needed some important background and an excuse for certain things that will most likely happen so here ya go

Also I love how I keep calling all of them cookies when they're, like, human or reapers or demons or (in this case) dieties or some crap

This is NOT the start of the plot 'cause there's details I'll need to finish before I can do the actual thing. For example: character designs. I'll need to work on all that before I get this show officially on the road

hows work on the reaper au going?

Sadly, not as great as I'd hoped. I haven't been in a good place mentally for a while now, college not exactly helping, and my drawing tablet's stylus is now broken so I can't do any sprite edits like I'd hoped for Chapter 1.

You can tell me if you want me to write it for now (I don't mind), but progress has practically come to a halt for some time because of these things and my hyperfixations changing a whole bunch over two-four months.

okay so the usual advice for "what do i do" is "follow your heart" right? uhh... i dont know what my heart is saying

Am I gonna put them in the AU? Probably.

Do I know what I'm doing with them. Probably not.

Are they gonna be out of character to some extent? I dunno but I feel like it's gonna be a solid yes at some point

Cookie Reapers AU Wizard Cookie my beloved

girl help ive been stuck without motivation for so long i forgot what it felt like and now im confused and anxious about it because my brain is telling me it's wrong but i know it aint and im still typing this singular sentence for some reason

yeah in case i havent made it clear uhhh White Lily Cookie and Dark Enchantress Cookie are separate in this au

also the god ancients dont always get along as well as their og counterparts, as evidenced by every meeting they hold ever

though Hollyberry, Dark Cacao, and Golden Cheese do try not to squabble too much unless they want to see Pure Vanilla get angry (it's his domain they'd be in after all)

(you can hear Dark Enchantress Cookie in the background with popcorn going "FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT")

Ok so get ready 'cause this is a long one (and sadly no images for this post)--

I haven't talked about this (I think) but sometimes I write scenes in a doc or sort out my thoughts with a friend of mine (thank god she's okay with it).

I've got A LOT of stuff I'm proud of from these scenes I haven't been able to put in comic form because limitations and willpower.

For example, have this really old and potentially not that well written bit from me trying to write out Espresso and Madeleine during their little Christmas side story (I did flower symbolism research before writing it):

Espresso stood up abruptly and dropped his book onto the couch before storming to the door. He took a quick breath to try calming himself down and unlocked the door. He yanked it open and glared at the only human out there who would bother him now: Madeleine.

Madeleine's eyes were wide with surprise. He was holding a bag obviously containing gifts and something that almost threw off Espresso's glare entirely: a bouquet of flowers. It wasn't anything big—red tulips and white roses throughout—but what had nearly caused such a double take was the single black dahlia in the center. It wasn't truly black (instead being a dark burgundy), but something about it almost made Espresso's heart stop. Perhaps it was just how much it felt out of place. Perhaps it had a hidden meaning that he couldn't figure out in that moment. Nonetheless, it was there, and it was blooming against the brightness and warmth surrounding it.

Imma put the takeaways I got from me literally just asking google and looking at flower sites as well and putting it on the doc:

Black flowers are usually negative, but a single one with a gift can show a "powerful gesture with a hint of mystery" and apparently a black dahlia makes a great centerpiece. (source: https://www.interflora.co.uk/blog/black-flowers)

Red tulips = perfect love

white rose = purity. Often used in weddings

Black dahlia (usually dark burgundy) = negative, sadness, betrayal. (Espresso himself)

Am I an expert on flower bouquets? No. Would Madeleine Cookie know his way around flowers in the AU really well? Also no.

I'm just proud of myself for using flower symbolism, though my excitement has cooled off a bit since January and last year's December.
