i haven't been able to get over the idea of rossi going full "face off" conspiracy corkboard insane mode again and this is what comes of that! <3 also i miss ben savage Deeply.

The new reboot is already killing me. Wrote a tiny blurb fanfic to get it off my chest. I can’t stand what they did to Krystall..

... so! me and my buddy friend pal lover @prettyboy-reiid (who you should follow) were talking about krystall's death. and they were like "god we never DID get an answer for what killed her, did we?", and i said "WE HAVEN'T!!!", like a fool.

i hadn't done my research!

and so, after scouring tons of blogs, i finally found an interview with erica messer that tells us (almost) exactly what happened.

i found it hiding in a LOOPER article, titled "Criminal Minds : Evolution Exec Relates Rossi's Grief To Everyone's Post-COVID Lives" .

it says...

"In her interview, Erica Messer confirmed that Krystall Richards' death was the result of a cancer battle exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic."

... if david rossi had a nickel for everybody he cared about that died from cancer, he would have TWO nickels!... which isn't a lot! but it's HEARTBREAKING that is happened twice <3

and if you think that was awful, here's some more fuel to throw on that emotional fire!

"For David Rossi and Krystall Richards, COVID-19 prevented doctors from detecting her cancer early enough to intervene. "You couldn't really go to the doctor unless it was an emergency situation," Erica Messer recalled of the early days of the pandemic. "One of [Richards'] yearly exams got put off and when she finally got to the doctor, they found cancer and it was advanced and it was too little, too late." Her death traumatizes Rossi, who chooses to dissolve into his work rather than take time to heal."

... that is! that is so awful. that is soooooo awful. oh that's the worst. imagine that, mh? imagine the "she's already late stage 3, the best we can do is provide hospice care". imagine the parallels to carolynn. imagine "no one lives forever, david", like it's coming straight out of carolynn's mouth and NOT the woman he was sure he'd have forever with.

now penelope's "ever since krystall's diagnosis..." makes sense, huh? </3

hello everyone ❤️ i have many thoughts but i will shorten them for this post!

1. i watched the new criminal minds evolution episode finally! ................... it was something! (the most intruiging part of the entire episode was elias' backstory and im not even sorry for saying it, ive been so hyped about this and he READS ROSSIS BOOKS and i NEEEEEED . MORE INFO ABOUT CYRUS IMMEDIATELY!!! GOD!!!!!!!!!)

(also ive never been more of a jj stan for gods sake guys😭 give her a HUG)

(i will not be mentioning tynelope <3. Pentyler? .. OR TARA AND REBECCA. WHAT THE FFFFUCCCCCKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!?????)

my next thoughts sorta bleed into my new episode thoughts, but bare with me, because it takes a second! (its because rossi's books are featured in both❤️)

2. ........ i was doing my annual rewatch of "zoe's reprise", as you do! and i have a lot of things to say about it (i dont care if you dont like him the episode genuinely brings out a very interesting facet of rossi's character in such an intruiging way and ive always been very curious as to how he actually Handles being a famous author over such a horrid subject matter- not to mention he has a very obvious ick with idol worship, especially directed towards himself! take "limelight" for example, he is so uncomfortable that entire episode because the whole precinct KNOWS him. hell, its only mentioned once, but he literally had a mentee BREAK INTO HIS HOUSE like SIX TIMES😭!!!)

anyways, that episode is . So good. and YES i know that not everybody who reads this post ships hossi (welcome to my personal rarepair hell everyone, take a seat❤️), but Ohhhhhhh my god bare with me. hotch and rossi have an "omnivore" moment. they do this semi-often, i've noticed! i can't count the episodes, but it essentially goes like this :

- one of them gets emotionally unstable during a case and has to "take a breather", which usually means going outside all emo

- the other IMMEDIATELY follows. no hesitation. in "zoe's reprise", hotch quite literally tells the team to deliver the profile without him. all rossi did was say "hey im gonna go outside and take a breather" and hotch Knew.

- they do that old married couple bickering. "you think this is YOUR fault, aaron?" "i know it is" / "i was the one who told her to never stop chasing the trail" "dave, what are you doing?"

- and they eventually arrive on a compromise! that compromise is always "no matter what, this is still a case, and we're gonna solve it".

and that is one of my Many favorite things about them!

3. hossi aside, though, i just wanted to dump a couple images i found😭

❤️❤️❤️ rossi books. oh how i would kill to read all of them. also its super intruiging that, stuffed in between them, is a book covering jack the ripper!!! obviously its foreshadowing to the unsub of the episode (WHO READS ROSSI'S BOOKS!), but it would be very silly if he wrote a book dealing with that case.

now this next one is the blurriest ugliest image in the world because i took it very excitedly while watching the episode on my TV, so 😭

AAAAUAAAAGHJJJHGHSSSHGGJFRRNDJDHDGSDHJT (silence of the lambs poster Silence Of The Lambs Poster). you dont know HOW many times ive giggled about the fact that david rossi and clarice starling have the same "i hear screams" trauma😭.

also i would kill for zoe's room tbh. need that poster so bad, and the little skeleton???

... i have . some thoughts. about the newest episode!

CME EPISODE 9 SPOILERS

1) Oh david rossi ouhghnouggbn . ouggshbebrh Ohhhhhhhhhh. im. cant formulate my thoughts into words. without sounding absolutely insane.

i am so normal i am sooo okay with all of this. its not like ive always wanted to see how this guy would react when put into various situations and i finally get one of the situations EVERY OTHER BAU MEMBER has been a part of. also fuckyou guys i think rossi and elias are silly💔 "do you need help zipping up?" "why, do you want to? 🤨🤨🤨" .

2). Everyone is. a twinge ooc! obviously thats the issue when you make a new series taking old characters .

... penelope is the worst ooc, though. Ohhh i could talk for. a minute😭😭😭. they literally just erased all of her growth and progress? for a random dude? i love tyler as a character but holy fuck! i dont even like garvez that much and i wouldve MUCH rather had that!

3) listening to ppl whine "why is CME focused on rossi:( i hate him he should die" i am literally thriving and so happy over here. i am full of whimsical joy. can you say the same /lighthearted . also since u hate rossi wouldnt this be healing to u😭???? literally u get to watch him suffer. go ham .

ANYWAYS! those are all my thoughts in no particular order. ill organize them better later but i just Had to get them out <3

i have not made a post in so long...

but i have. So Many Thoughts. about the new episode. have i watched the new season much at all?? absolutely not. i will! i haven't gotten to it yet.

the only thing i've watched is the most recent episode, and even then i was kinda just. Skimming through it. and oh my god

CME 17X8 SPOILERS

1. THE KISS. THE KISS?! OH MY GOD??!!!

> that was the sloppiest messiest thing i ever seen dear Lord. oh my god. somebody needs to kiss him like that more. but also Please Don't i think he would have a heart attack

> it was a diversion! it was a tactic to MAKE dave uncomfortable, to make him leave, to keep him safe, and it definitely worked, but😭 lorrrdddddd!!! that was insane.

> David. David Stephen Rossi. do NOT misinterpret that kiss. do NOT think it was more than it was (it probably IS gonna be some silly relationship plot but GAH)

2. the gideon slander... the ooc-ness of it all..

He was Jewish.” “No. I couldn't look.. at you.” first of all. the closed casket, he was jewish comment made me snort and idk why. "i couldnt look at uh" "dave he was jewish??". second of all??? i would put my LIFE on the fact that david rossi was at that funeral. I MADE A WHOLE TUMBLR RANT (that nobody but me is insane about) ABOUT IT. even if david rossi wasn't at the funeral, he absolutely wrote the obituary, he helped fund the casket, he did SOMETHING. best friend's wife be damned, jason gideon was his soulmate

> THEY MENTIONED MALLICK. THEY MENTIONED MALLICK. “W- We can't blame ourselves for things other people do. I learned that with...” “With who?” “With Donnie Mallick, the guy who killed Jason.” ... AND THE FACT THAT IT'S CONFIRMED THAT JILL BLAMED ROSSI FOR JASON'S DEATH... *starts shaking*. she blamed him because rossi left the job, so gideon obviously wouldn't, and gideon's obsession got him killed (??? bad reasoning ma’am but go off i guess). are we not gonna mention the fact rossi killed mallick in cold blood or is that just kind of assumed. hello. *taps mic* is this thing on-

> JASON GIDEON IS SO BAD-HUSBAND CODED IN THIS? they're acting like he was borderline abusive, am i insane for getting that vibe😭??. "yeah gideon wasn't the easiest to be around whenever he got obsessed. so me and jill would lean on each other for support" Huh? 🤨 same with jill saying "i'd much rather remember him singing and cooking, than.." ... Arguments? :( c'mon guys... listen both rossi and gideon would be absolutely insufferable to marry, and jason gideon was so emotionally constipated and autistic-coded that i don't DOUBT they got into arguments. jason gideon is definitely not perfect. but Jill-Leaning-On-Dave-For-Support level arguments?

> rossi fully verbally admitted "yeah i thought i would be better for jill than jason and thats why i stepped away from the BSU" ... youre telling me WORK-OBSESSED DAVID ROSSI left his job... BECAUSE HE COULDN'T STOP THE URGE TO HOMEWRECK?

3. misc thoughts

> there was some kind of bird pillow between them during the kiss. when i find that pillow it's over for y'all. symbolism or something

> get dave new reading glasses. please god they look silly /affectionate. please dave get some wire frames. please

> rossi has a photo of himself and kai oh my god. thats so important to me (my name is kai and im projecting? or im just glad they didn't forget about him entirely yet)

> rossi also has a screencap of gideon from s1. as a photo. i dont know. Why. and im not gonna question it.

final thoughts!

david rossi is addicted to his job and no relationship will ever satisfy him. and so the writers keep giving him fleeting love interests only to kill them off / completely forget about them. thank you for your time ❤️
