Boy dad Beomgyu who is good cop to your bad cop, always agreeing to five more minutes of playing until getting ready for bed, making you roll your eyes when you hear the two still making too much noise to be changing into pajamas and brushing teeth. (Though you'd be surprised how much noise actually comes from the bathroom while Beomgyu supervises teeth time; Beomgyu singing the toothbrush song and the small boy trying to sing along around his brush and a mouthful of foam, the noise bouncing around the tiled walls of the tiny bathroom and out into the hall.)

The two are always conspiring together, always making a game of out of everything, and sometimes, wearing each other out. On days that you work and Beomgyu stays home with your son, you often come home to find them crashed out on the couch, a mop of dark hair and small arm flopped over one of Beomgyu's long legs. Toys scatter the floor telling you just how busy they've been.

Beomgyu is such a proud dad when he brings his son to work, seeing how the members get so excited to see their favourite "little man", letting him run around the practice room playing chase, scooping him up for shoulder rides. Gyu might be a little distracted while going over the moves for a song they're performing soon, but who can blame him when he can see his mini-me in the mirror, behind the group cutely mimicking the choreo that he's picked up from watching his dad on TV?

note: I promise this will be the last time you see me write about kids! blame Soobin and Beomgyu-

Soobin hears you cry out from another room, rushes to check on you, eyes darting cluelessly from your face to your belly and back again, until you tell him your water's just broken. You swear the man goes pale, stammering, but it's not time! Doctor's advice, birthing classes, everything he's read about what to do, it all leaves his head. Can he drive right now? Soob? you pat his arm, let's go. Yeonjun drives the two of you to the hospital, Soobin in the back-seat with you, squeezing his arm, his eyes growing wider and wincing every time you have a contraction and whimper with pain. He hates that there’s nothing he can do to take the pain away for you. When you are fully in labour, it's as if his instincts kick in, doing the breathing exercises with you, telling you you're so strong, he loves you so much, you can do it. You've never seen him shake his head so hard and fast as when the doctor asks him if he wants to see the baby's head coming. When the little bundle is in his arms, he becomes sniffly, eyes wet with emotion, the rest of the world disappearing around him. Hey, you say tiredly, when do I get to hold her? Soobin turns his body away instinctively, moving your daughter in the opposite direction of you. You got to hold her for nine months, it's my turn.

Yeonjun is pretty fine, following the plan that he's gone over in his head a hundred times in preparation for this moment. It's when he sees you waddling around your hospital room in pain that he starts to get jittery, and he wants to hold you, soothe you, but he knows that right now he has to let you do your thing. When you finally sit down on the bed between contractions, he climbs up to sit behind you, pulling you back against his chest and rocking you slowly from side to side. It's when you have to start pushing that he starts to get teary, seeing you go through so much pain and hearing you cry out in agony is too much for him, and he can't hold it back. Probably tells you he's so sorry for doing this to you, that he doesn't care if he can't use the hand you have a vice grip on for a month, he doesn't need it. As soon as he sees his child, Yeonjun is a mess. And I don’t just mean tears, I mean audible sobs, as he gazes down at this little piece of the both of you. He’s so choked up he can’t speak as he places the baby in your arms, pressing his head against yours as you both peer at the new member of your family.

Beomgyu is pretty anxious and a little protective. His arm is around the back of your chair as you wait to be checked in, his leg bouncing a million miles an hour. He's filling out paperwork at the front. desk when the nurse comes to take you to your room and get changed, where is she going? The nurse laughs; she's used to first-time dads. Beomgyu is very attentive, asking regularly if you need anything - water, food, a back rub - and after the first five hours, when you suggest he take a nap, he refuses. He's here for you. Can't you give her something for the pain? he asks the doctor over your wails of pain when you begin giving birth, and when the doctor assures him that they already gave you something, Can't you give her more? When you are prompted to push harder, he tells you to get angry, and when that doesn’t help, he starts listing all the stupid things he’s done that have annoyed you. This doesn’t really help either, but soon enough your baby is in the world. He’s real? Beomgyu asks the nurses as they towel off the crying baby, not yet ready to let go of your hand. A nurse hands him the bundle, and he looks so amazed. Hi, he says softly before looking at you with starry eyes, You made this. You laugh as he puts one arm around you and you both admire your son, You helped.

Taehyun is the most collected of the bunch. He knows how nervous you are, so he’s glad he can keep his cool for you. On the drive to the hospital, he can tell you need a distraction, so he tells you all the things you all the things you have to look forward to; no more cramps, no more morning sickness, being able to see your feet, not being a human incubator anymore. He stands by your side through the whole thing, feeding you ice cubes, guiding you through your breathing exercises the way he was taught, and when it's delivery time, being a strong arm for you to go to town on, wiping your damp face with a cold cloth, showering you with encouragement. As soon as he hears that baby cry, he absolutely beams, couldn't stop smiling if he tried, telling you he's so proud of you and kissing your tired face as you finally lay back and rest, exhausted. After helping to cut the cord, he's handed the baby, and he brings it straight to you, laying the tiny thing on your chest. His eyes are so full of love and shiny with emotion as he strokes your hair, both of you in wonder of his tiny life you've created.

You're out shopping when your water breaks, and Kai looks at you in distress. The- the hospital bag, it's at home! he frets as the two of you head for the parking lot. Kai, we put it in the car when it got closer to my due date, remember? you remind him, watching him blink adorably in realisation, though this reassurance doesn't do anything for the deer-in-headlights look in his eyes. At the hospital, he's unusually quiet; his whole world is about to change, and he wonders how nine months came and went so fast. He returns your reassuring smiles, takes a minute to answer questions, but when you need him most, he snaps out of it, large hands soothing your back as you rock yourself against the pain, tying your hair up for you, humming songs and breathing with you through the contractions. You won't have this belly anymore, he pouts as he rubs over the baby bump for the last time. When the baby is placed in his arms for the first time, he is speechless, looking from your tired eyes to the tiny pink human engulfed in his arms, overwhelmed with love.

Currently thinking about first-time dads txt having to discipline their kids or say no to them... they're all big softies who wouldn't want to be the bad guy or make their kid cry. I feel like Taehyun and Yeonjun would be best at gently laying down the law, while Soobin, Hyuka, Beomgyu, hmm and sometimes Yeonjun, would mostly use the distraction or bribery technique to redirect the child's attention to something else to move them on from the trouble they're in so they don't have to tell them off 😆

e.g. Beomgyu avoiding all the embarrassment a tantrum brings in public: oh look, a gum ball machine! here's a coin... oh nice, a blue one! is it yummy? yeah, that'll keep you busy for a while.

Yeonjun's technique is to just get really pouty with his kid and make them feel guilty for whatever they did lol

Kai's son and daughter fighting over the tv remote, so he separates them by sitting between them, one on either side, and puts on a movie he knows they will zone out to, snuggling up to him and keeping the peace

Yeonjun whose daughter won't eat her lunch unless her sandwich is cut into stars, who always runs to the door when she hears her dad's car pull up in the drive way, and he knows one day she'll stop and he's not prepared no matter how far away that time is. He picks her up the second he walks in the door and carries her on his hip, baby voice mode activated, asking her what she did today and if he missed her.

Yeonjun's daughter who is just as sassy as he is, maybe more because she knows she can get away with it, pulling exactly the same face he does when he doesn't get his way. His heart melts just looking into her eyes, laughing with pain because he just can't take it! Today, it's cookies before dinner—tomorrow, it'll be his credit card.

Oh my god, you're so right. I see the vision.

Yeonjun who's always pictured having a family, and in that little family fantasy he's always seen himself having a daughter. So when you tell him that you're pregnant for the first time, he doesn't even consider that it could be a boy. Immediately, he starts brainstorming and researching girl names, making a list of the ones he really likes in his phone for when you bring it up further into your pregnancy because he may have started thinking about names a liiiittle early, he's just so excited.

When he comes back from a day out shopping, pulling pink baby clothes out of the bags to show you, item after item, you're a little befuddled. Hun, you say, don't you think we should wait until we know the gender? The excitement on his face falls away to drawn eyebrows, sulky eyes, and an oh so familiar pout. It's a girl, he promises, as if he's some kind of Oracle who just knows these things. He’s also somehow got his family believing wholeheartedly that it’s a girl.

Beomgyu and Taehyun have a running joke that if the baby's a boy, Yeonjun will leave it at the hospital—but despite calling your growing belly "babygirl" when he talks to it, and referring to it as "my daughter" instead of "the baby" in conversation, you know that when the day comes, he will love his child to pieces no matter what.

I think if he was not home and he saw a video of his baby doing something cute, especially snuggling with the other parent, he wouldn't be able to wipe the smile from his face. He'd watch the short clip over and over and want to go home immediately to see the baby and get his own snuggles.

Yeonjun would love getting videos and photos of his kid during the day, but it would also make him miss them more! But that makes it all the better when he gets to go home, scoop them up, and love on them himself <3

yeonjun would be the BIGGEST pushover. he’d be so bad at disciplining and saying no to his daughter. especially when she gives him her big puppy eyes. the most he would do is probably just gently scolding her.

okay we all know soobin HATES math. so when it’s time to help his kids with homework it’s a real struggle lmao. him sitting at the dinner table with his kids late at night STRUGGLING to teach them fractions 😭

beomgyu just wants to be the best role model he can for his child. he wants to show them how to treat people and how they should treat their mother. he always worries about doing the best he can to mold them into a kind human :)

taehyun would be weak for hearing his kids tell him “i love you daddy!” i swear this guy has hearts in his eyes when he hears that come from his precious babies. he cherishes whenever they say those words to him while running into his arms.

kai finds leaving bed in the morning the hardest. because it’s full of his two favorite people of course! you guys are huddled together with your toddler in between you guys and him holding you guys close with his big frame. but he has to go to his stupid job :(

Girl dad Yeonjun who always scowls when you're just holding your baby and she starts crying. You literally didn't do anything, she's just fussing, and he's all, "yah, give her here, you've lost your privilege." His baby crying is one of the worst sounds in the world to him. He'd rather listen to blaring sirens—it'd be less painful.

Taking her in his arms and shushing her gently, holding out his pinky for her to wrap her tiny fingers around. His eyes light up and his softest smile comes out when she quiets, her brown eyes looking up into his. He doesn't care that he'll probably have to sit down and not move for a few hours, because she'll definitely fall asleep on him, because this is his proudest moment.

And when you find him not long afterwards on the couch with your daughter cradled against his chest, you can't help but laugh at the way his own eyes are dipping sleepily, their shared warmth making him relaxed. Your hand falls on his shoulder as you whisper, "I'll put her down."

He looks up at you with his signature sad eyes. "But she won't be this little forever."

Suppressing another laugh, you run your hand through his hair and press a kiss to his newly exposed forehead. "There'll be plenty more cuddles before she's too big to hold, I promise."

Soobin

Yes, it ends in a mess, and yes, half of the sweets are gone before they've really started decorating the cookies—he'll blame the kids, but he helped in more than just adult supervision. Truth be told, most of the time and energy is spent being silly, singing Christmas songs and dancing, but it's quality time. Quality time and a heavy dose of sugar. But when they decide to be determined at the task, they're focused on their efforts. The older one stands on a chair of her own, while the smaller of the two sits on Soobin’s lap and guides the spoon he's holding, laden with icing. They eat their creations while Soobin does the dishes, a Christmas movie and the music of his little girls' laughter playing in the background.

Yeonjun

Yeonjun's favourite thing about Christmas with his kids is watching their eyes lighting up when they see all the brightly coloured packages under the tree on Christmas morming. He gets so excited about it that he wakes up early like a kid himself. If his kids aren't up, he'll sneak in and wake them. He plays up his own reactions as they unwrap each gift, eyes and mouth wide as they turn excitedly to show him every toy they find inside the paper, a growing stack of toys he's going to have to wrestle out of the packaging afterwards. There are no fights over any of the presents because, of course, Yeonjun spoils them all, even though Santa gets the credit.

Beomgyu

Despite not liking the cold, Beomgyu always bundles up the kids (and himself) and takes them to the Christmas parade, always getting there early enough to get a front row seat. It's worth it for how much of a great time they all have. He waves along with the kids at the actors and dancers, smiling when they turn around to point out their favourite floats. By the end of the parade, there's always one kid in his lap, worn out from all the excitement. Before heading home, there's a stop at a cafe for hot chocolate—with marshmallows, his daughter is persistent in reminding him from the car ride to when he places the order, tugging on the sleeve of his jacket.

Taehyun

He loves going to the school Christmas concert. Watching the kids on the makeshift stage, singing along with their class to the carol, he watched them practice numerous times at home. Nodding along encouragingly for his daughter, who's little shy in front of the audience. Beaming when his son is one of the kids who the sings clearest of the mumbling group. When they run into his arms after it's over, he showers them with praise, and on the car ride home, they have their own mini concert singing along to the carols on the radio. Taehyun's kids are his pride, and he loves the holidays so much more since they came along.

Huening Kai

He wants to have a photo of his little ones with Santa every year until they're too old to believe. His oldest daughter, who has always been very inquisitive for her age, baffles Santa with the questions she asks, not satisfied with simply giving him a list of things she wants for Christmas. Kai helps to answer them, holding back a laugh as she watches the man scramble. When his youngest isn't sure, still at an age where he's funny about people he doesn't know, Kai sits beside Santa with him on his lap, showing him it's okay. After that, the kid waves to Santa every time he sees one, even on TV.

He was so taken aback by the size of a toddler's hands, imagine with a newborn, his own baby... He'd spend so long staring at not only the baby's face, loving the tiny nose and lips and watching with quiet chuckles at the way they twitch while his little one dreams, but the tiny hands and feet too.

When the baby's not swaddled, he can't help but hold the tiny hand in his, smooting a thumb over the palm just to feel the softness of the softest skin he's ever known ): He loves the way the warm tiny fingers curl around his big index finger even when the baby is asleep, as if it’s an instinct.

Soobin would love the handprint photo idea. He'd display it proudly on the wall and catch himself looking at it often. Sometimes, just seeing it would fill with the urge to go love on his precious little one ):

Mafia boss Yeonjun often wonders if he would have even set one foot in the mafia world if he hadn't done so before his two little girls came along.

So many nights, he comes home late, long after his angels have gone to bed, and his mind tinges with regret. Quietly, he takes off his shoes before heading upstairs, sneaking into their shared bedroom where they've been tucked in my their trusted nanny and are sleeping soundly. He kneels silently between the two beds, heart flourishing with the reassurance that they're both safe and well, dreaming blissful and innocent dreams. He places a kiss on each of their heads before crossing the room and sagging into the armchair that's been in the corner of the bedroom since it was a nursery. He'll sit there for a while before he heads off to bed himself—he just misses his girls.

Yeonjun doesn't want to miss out on so much. He already puts being a dad above his other engagements as much as he possibly can; silencing important calls during a day out at the playground, sending trusted advisors to meetings when one of his kids is sick. But he also needs to keep up his reputation and favourable persona, not only to keep his associates on his side, but to keep his family safe from his enemies. He would never let it become accessible knowledge that he was a father, lest it be used as a play against him. He would do anything to keep his children from harm.

Mafia boss Yeonjun often wonders if he would have even set foot in the mafia world if he hadn't done so before his two little girls came along—but he knows that if it were safe, if it were plausible, he would give it all up in a heartbeat.

Yeonjun would definitely tear up the first time he ever felt his baby kick. He’s seen the test result and the scans, but now it’s tangible and real to him, something he can feel for himself. It makes him more impatient to hold his child in his arms, skin to skin with no barrier between them.

This made me think feeding his kid would be one of his favourite things.

Yeonjun would be so silly with spoon feeding, making so many sound effects and baby voices, laughing at how cute they and how well they eat. He'd always be excited when the baby is ready to try new foods. It's like a whole new experience for him as well as them to see if they will like it 😊 He'd feel so proud as he cleans their face and hands afterwards hehe

After the To Do episode, I picture Taehyun's kids getting this excited over things. Yeonjun's and Beomgyu’s kids would be loud and hyper, but I can imagine Taehyun's son and daughter being the most excitable, and Taehyun would laugh with his eyes beaming and lit up seeing them that way.

That's so true that his kids would be able to find him easily cause he's tall ): and them grabbing at his jeans to pull him where they want to go next, I'm so soft 😭😭 but also the plushie bit is so wholesome and since the three huenings all got a different version of the same plushie, kai would definitely do the same for his kids and love watching them invent little nicknames and backstories for them and take them everywhere! Ari, I've fallen into txt's kids head cannons and I can't get up!

Imagine Hyuka’s kids, a boy and a girl a year or two apart, following their dad around a theme park, the girl's pigtails which Kai did himself, bobbing as she walks 😭 Their dad's hands are full of things he's bought for them at the gift shop, so the two little Huenings hold hands so they won't lose each other. Being so similar in age, they're very close siblings and are very affectionate with each other and hold hands a lot, but it warms Kai's heart when he turns around to check on them and finds them trailing after him hand in hand and pointing things out to each other with excitement.

first of all, this devastated me as an eldest daughter with two younger brothers so I *will* be assuming the girl is the oldest because brothers are supposed to be younger than you, duh

Kai's daughter, dressed in her overalls and pigtails, holding onto her little brother's hand because she doesn't want him to get lost at the theme park. she knows that their daddy would never let them get lost for real but she still doesn't want to lose him :( she doesn't yet know that daddy is easy to find in crowds since he's so tall, since she's small enough that everyone is still tall to her :( and her brother is easy to lose in crowds since he's a few inches shorter than her and his little legs get tired sometimes so he takes lots of breaks.

so they hold hands and they make up stories about the plushies in their hands- what sounds they would make and who would win in a fight and which magic powers they would have. Kai looks back when he hears a pair of roars and a fit of giggles behind him. his two kids laughing at their own jokes, trodding along immersed in their own world, imaginations even bigger than the wonders of the theme park.

his smile grows when he sees his son's eyes light up, eagerly pointing out an attraction they haven't been to yet. his daughter's head whips in the direction of his tiny, chubby finger, her pigtails- the ones that Kai struggled to get even this morning- bouncing as they fly through the air.

he knows that they're already headed over to that attraction, smiling to himself when his kids' turn and race to him, grasps tightening around their stash of plushies and half-eaten candy as they pick up speed, eagerly running to pull at his pant leg, asking "daddy pleeaase can we go over there!" "can we go on that ride? dad, dad dad dad, please can we!?!"

For some reason I keep thinking about this, so i did it. (This has been in the drafts too long but I finished it, yay)

Soobin doesn't get to the hospital in time while you're delivering the baby because he was at a music show shoot, and you went into labour earlier than planned. He walks in all out of breath from the dash up to your room, and you're alone with the little bundle in your arms. He can't believe he missed it. He was meant to be there for you, and he wasn't. He's babbling apologies as he approaches the bed, a kiss ready to be given, a hand on your shoulder—but the kiss never comes because his eyes fall on his baby girl for the first time.

This is the child he's felt so much love for all this time, and to finally see her is overwhelming. Soobin’s eyes well up with the rush of emotions he feels; love, pride, joy. Soobin lowers to his knees beside the bed to be closer to her, eyes taking in every detail of her face. His hand finds yours blindly, squeezing it with tenderness, tears threatening to spill over as he spares you short, loving glances, not able to look away from her for long.

"I'll never miss anything else," he promises. He reaches out to place a hand over the warm bundle of blankets, wishing he'd been here to see her before she'd been swaddled. "I'll be here. I swear." His fingers fold into a fist, leaving only his pinky extended in promise.

When Beomgyu takes his son to the playground, he doesn't sit on the bench and watch quietly like all the other parents, no no. He becomes a kid himself. His son can't keep up with him. Most parents have to drag their kids away from the playground when it's time to go, but in this case, it's the other way around.

Beomgyu and his son make pillow forts into an extreme sport. Don't expect to come home and find any couch cushions where they ought to be. In fact, don't expect to be able to step foot in the living room. And when you call for your boys to come and answer for themselves, all you hear is giggling and Beomgyu’s shushing.

His son would be the type to get tucked in, lights turned out, and then say, "I need a drink!" And when Gyu points out that there's a glass of water on his bedside, "I need cold water." Then Beomgyu would probably start complaining in satori lol Beomgyu and his son have the funniest bickering.

Definitely the type of dad to carry his sleeping son from the car to bed, not wanting to wake him up and have to be the bad guy and change him out of his clothes and brush his teeth.

His little boy is so curious whenever he sees his dad playing the guitar. Beomgyu puts him on his knee, a little awkward while also supporting the guitar but he makes it work, and lets him strum while Gyu makes the chord shapes. From that point on, any time his son sees the guitar in his dad's hands, he runs over and tries to climb up on Beomgyu's lap :)

I'm a week out from my period and spent the morning looking at my friend's posts about her baby, and now I'm suddenly feeling... baby feverish? I don't think I've felt like this before? Which lead to thoughts of...

Being first-time parents with txt... Imagining sitting in a rocking chair cradling your sleeping baby with your sweet hubby standing behind, eyes on the baby but hands rubbing at your shoulders. Even though they're head over heels for their child, they're also more attentive to you than ever. Always asking if you need anything, just being right there for you always. Getting up in the middle of the night when the baby cries even though technically it's been your turn for the last four times, because he knows you're exhausted. Running you a bath and insisting you relax, he'll look after the baby for an hour 😭😭 Help what have I done?
