The Phantoms Bat
Summary: Danny has been the ghost king for quit a few years now, technically he was 20, but ghostly he was like 60. As Danny watches his loved ones die he wonders if he’ll ever feel that feeling of love that came with family, luckily a trip through a random ghost portal gives him the feeling again through an orphaned bat.
_______________________________________________
Danny wondered through the ghost zone for what felt like the millionth time, but he still hadn’t explored ever nock and crany the his dimension had to ofer. It was a beautiful place, but maybe Danny was a bit influenced by the fact that he was its king, that didn’t stop him from loving it though.
As he floated absently looking around a portal opened right in front of him almost a if it was waiting for him. When the portal fully opened his core seemed to tug him in the direction of the portal. Never one to question his ghost instincts. He hovered hesitantly in front of the portal.
Approaching it he reached a hand through, he waited only a second to see if clockwork would show up and tell him not to go in, but he didn’t. Reassured that he wasn’t going to mess up and big timeline mambo jumbo Danny floated into the portal. Danny was not expecting to come out standing on a building roof top above an ally way.
The sound of someone crying quikly distracted him. Running over to the edge of the roof top Danny looked down and what he saw felt like it cracked his core. Down in the ally way was a child crouching over two larger forms Danny could only assume were the boys parents. Floating down behind the boy Danny fell to his knees.
The sadness, and ablolute despair the boy was sending out in waves practically broke Danny. “Hey.” Danny spoke in the most comforting voice he had, which he often used with the new ghost children that would manifest in the ghost zone confused and hurt and sad.
The boy wiped his head around Danny was afraid he was going to get whiplash, when Danny spoke.
“Who, who are you?” The boy asked with an obvious tremble in his words. It made Danny’s core and heart ace.
“I’m Danny, who might you be younge man?” Danny asked with a smile while sending waves of calm, and safety at the boy.
The boy sniffled before answering. “Bruce.”
“Thats a very nice name, now Bruce could you tell me what happened?” He asked with as much reasherence as possible, he did not want the boy to think he was going to hurt him, Danny would never hurt a child (not when they all reminded him of the child he wish he could’ve had)
“Someone shot mommy and daddy. We were just leaving the theater when a man attacked us.” Bruce sniffled before continuing. “He, he killed them.” He said with a sob.
Danny couldn’t hold back anymore. He floated over to Bruce quickly and scooped the child into his lap and hugged him. That seemed to be the hit that broke the dam as Bruce started ugly sobbing, Danny didn’t mind the small wet spot that started form on the front of his suit.
“Shuh, shuh, its okay no one’s going to hurt you now, you’re safe with me.” Danny reassured Bruce. The only response that Danny got was a small nod from Bruce.
As Bruce’s sobs turned to small sniffles Danny felt his breath even out. Looking down at Bruce he saw that he had fallen asleep. Danny’s core warmed in content at such a display of trust so quikly. At the sound of approaching sirens Danny turned invisible and floated up to the roof top that he first appeared on.
However, now he was in a predicament, Where did Bruce and his parents live? Looking down at the streets Danny saw a newspaper stand new by. Flying over to it in hopes of clues Danny was greeted with the image of the boy and his parents on the front page. Apparently they were the wayne family.
Looking at the description Danny instantly new they were very rich, so he just had to look for possibly the biggest house in the city, and he would drop Bruce off at home. A home that would now be empty.
Should I continue this or no???

Danny wandered through the ghost zone for what felt like the millionth time, but he still hadn’t explored every nook and cranny that his dimension had to offer. It was a beautiful place, but maybe Danny was a bit influenced by the fact that he was its king, that didn’t stop him from loving it though.

The boy sniffled before answering. “Bruce.”
“That's a very nice name, now Bruce could you tell me what happened?” He asked with as much reasherence as possible, he did not want the boy to think he was going to hurt him, Danny would never hurt a child (not when they all reminded him of the child he wish he could’ve had)

_______________________________________________
Danny was not expecting a fucking castle?!! Seriously, why is it so big? And for only like 3 people. (Danny didn’t want to think that someone as small as Bruce was now probably going to be living there possible by himself, no he's too young.)
Phasing through the front of the manor castle he didn't expect to see someone pacing back and forth in the kitchen. Danny thought he heard the man mutter something along the lines of “Where are they.”
Did he really have to tell the families, butler?, that they were dead. Danny did not sign up for this. (Yes you did as soon as you saw Bruce.) Lowering himself Danny stood a few feet away from the man before dropping his invisibility.
“Do you live here?” Why did he ask that of course the guy lives here.
Danny watched as the butler’s eyes widened before they zeroed in on the boy in his arms and narrowed. “What are you doing with the young master?” He asked with cation in his voice.
Looking down at Bruce with a sad expression Danny answered. “I found him in an alleyway huddled over his parents' dead bodys.”
He wasn’t looking at the butler to see his expression but he did hear a small “No.”
“I’m sorry…” Danny said while looking up at the butler to see he had an expression of disbelief and sadness on his face.
“How do I know you’re telling the truth?” He asked.
Danny hadn't thought of that. He looked at Bruce before looking at the butler. “When Bruce wakes up he can tell you, but let the boy rest. He's just seen his parents die in front of him.”
The butler nodded before straightening his posture. “Well I am Alfred Pennyworth, may I know the name of the young master's savior?”
Ignoring the blush that crept onto his face Danny answered. “My name's Danny, and I’m not Bruce's savior, when I got there he was the only one in the alley way.” The word alive went unsaid.
Alfred nodded before leading Danny up a staircase and into a very large room. Walking over to the bed Danny set Bruce down when Alfred pulled back the covers. Just as he was pulling away Bruce's little hand grabbed onto Danny's sleeve.
“Please…stay…” Bruce mutters grogally from sleep.
Danny looked at Alfred for permission. Alfred nodded with a smile before walking out of the bedroom. Danny smiled, then climbed into the bed with Bruce and hugged the small boy to his chest.
“Thank you.” Bruce muttered before falling fast asleep again.
Smiling Danny whispered. “You’re welcome little star.” before he himself gave into sleep.
You’re like me..?
sneak peek
Summary: When Airis first heard about Phantom she had her suspicions about him, but without meeting him she couldn’t really prove them, so she did what she had been wanting to do for a while now, she ran away from home and into the craziness of Amity Park.
-------------------------------------------
If you asked her, Airis would tell you she had a pretty secure grip on her emotions.
She didn’t hold her anger like an abusive father holding a child's wrist, no, she holds hers in a tight hug and rubs its back soothingly whenever it starts to shake.
However, what she was reading made her want to let go of her anger and let it run around like a scared cat in the vet's office. The Fentons papers on ghosts was so fucking biased it was disgusting. They were basically describing themselves when talking about the ghosts in their papers.
They only had a few facts right, but then they twisted those facts to suit what they thought of ghosts. It made Airis have to take multiple deep breaths in order to keep her anger in her arms. She had held it in a firm hug for so fucking long, she would not let go now just because two bumbling idiots though all ghost were malevolent.
Looking up from her phone Airis saw the sign that greeted her into Amity Park. She let a small smile form on her lips as she flew past the sign. Howfully Phantom would listen to her and not attack first, but from what she had read she doubted he would. Especially once she revealed she was like him.
_______________________________________________
The town was surprisingly quiet. Not at all what she was expecting for America’s most haunted town. Her grumbling stomach quickly alerted her to the fact that she hasn’t eaten anything in at least 4 or 5 hours.
Stupid basic half-human human needs.
Opening her phone again she looked on her maps to see a fast food joint called ‘Nasty Burger’ nearby. Not as good as Mcdonalds or Wendys, but it would have to do. Quickly memorizing the route she closed her phone and shoved it in her hoodie pocket.
As she walked she couldn’t help, but look around and let her thoughts wander.
If Phantom was really like her then she had to plan it out so if he ended up not being like her then she wouldn’t expose herself to all the people that would love to dissect her. The scar on her chest wouldn’t let her just forget.
She didn’t fully trust Phantom of course, but it was so hard not to when she felt such a connection to him just by looking at him in a picture, not even in person yet. Sighing to herself Airis grumbled in frustration at not understanding her feelings. No one knew her feelings like she did, but with this new growing feeling between her and the ghost boy she felt like a 10 year old again who was just starting to hold her emotions on a thin leash that risked snapping at any given moment.
Airis needed to hit something she hadn’t hit anything since that day, but knew she couldn’t wouldn’t. It might draw unwanted attention to herself, but then again Amity Park was strang, had stranger.
Seeing the Nasty Burger up ahead she quickened her pace and walked into the burger joint. She struggled a little to not make a face of disgust at the strong scent of high school jocks mixed with popular girls and grease. As soon as she spotted who was ruining the smell of grease she tried not to sneer tried was a strong word.
Airis walked up to the counter and glanced at the menu before ordering the closest she could get to her normal Mcdonalds order. While she waited she couldn’t help the sneer that made its way onto her face again when she looked back at Jocks and obvious popular girls sitting at one of the booths.
The sneer was replaced with a questioning look when one of the jocks looked across the fast food joint and smiled. Airis didn’t like that smile it was a smile she would never be able to wipe from her memories of him.
She watched with bated breath as the jock got up and went over to a table where three people were sitting and picked up the white boy with black hair and blue by the front of his shirt. Oh, oh no, fuck no.
Airis didn’t stop the animal-like growl that reverberated through her throat as she stormed over the jock and the three other kids they were her age.
Just as the jock lifted his hand to punch the smaller boy she sprung forward and socked the jock in the jaw, sending him to the ground and forcing him to drop the black haired boy onto his seat.
The entire Nasty Burger fell silent as Airis stared down at the blond haired Ken doll.
“Do you enjoy hurting people?” Airis practically snarled at the guy.
“Who the hell do you think you are?!” He snarled back but it didn’t sound nearly as threatening as he must have thought it was.
Airis almost laughed out loud at the sound of his voice. Smirking, Airis replied. “Says the squeaky toy.”
Her smirk grew larger at the sound of muffled laughter next to her. Glancing in the direction she saw all three of the teens trying to hide their laughter.
The blond's face turned red in anger or embarrassment; whatever it was it was amusing. He stood up and Airis realized that he was more than a few inches taller than her she spent most of her life being shorter than almost everyone in her life.
The blond obviously noticed this as well and smiled in “victory” don’t make her laugh.
“So what if I like messing with Fent-eno? What are you gonna do about it twink?” The blond sneered.
Airis couldn’t help the laugh that came out of her mouth. “Twink?! Really!” Another fit of laughter bubbled out of her mouth. “That the best you can come up with diko?”
The blond looked confused while she heard the darker skinned teen start laughing even harder. “What's that supposed to mean short stack?!” He growled out. Airis couldn’t even count it as a growl, she heard better growls from 8 year olds.
Her smile turned into something more sinister before she spoke. “Now why would I tell you what it means?” SHe sneered at him before continuing. “You don’t deserve even a sliver of my respect.” Just to make a point she sent out a bit of her revenant aura towards the jock.
Her sneer turned into a smirk as she watched him try to fight off the shaking that was quickly setting into his bones. “This isn’t over, loser.” He “growled” out, before stomping off to the table his friends were sitting and they quickly left.
Airis merely grumbled to herself before turning to go get the food she came here for.
“Thanks for that.” Looking behind her at the voice she saw it was the black haired boy that was talking. “No one ever usually stands up against Dash.”
She smiled at him, a genuine smile she pointedly ignored how her core thumped painfully in her chest she hadn’t smiled genuinely like that in what felt like forever.
“Trust me it was my pleasure.” She huffed as she turned fully to the other teens. One was a girl with black hair tied up in a small ponytail on the top of her head. The girl wore clothes that screamed goth at Airis. The other boy was a darker skinned teen with a red beret adorning the top of his head.
The boy that the now dubbed ‘Dash’ had in his hand moments ago had black hair as well and bright blue eyes almost as bright as her own. He wore a simple hoodie with red sleeves and a hood.
Airis snarled. “I hate bullies.”
The black haired boy smiled at her. “Yeah me two.” He stuck out his hand in front of him. “I’m Danny by the way. The girl is Sam and the other boy is Tucker.”
She took his hand in a firm hold before shaking it. “Nice to meet you. I’m Airis.”
As she let go of the boy's hand Sam spoke up. “Hey Danny, why doesn’t she come with us to my house?” She looked at Airis. “We were planning on bowling and then watching a movie.”
Airis couldn’t help how her smile softened. “I’d like that.”
I need Danny being Billy's dad fanfictions this instant that aren't 'Who's Old Now'!!!!!

Bat Meets Dragon, Dragon Meets Bat
The dark knight was facing off against the Joker once again. The clown threw something down on the ground that caused Joker Gas to explode out of it. Batman backed up as he covered his face with his cape. He was about to go back to fighting the clown prince when a growling noise sounded from inside the alley he had backed up in front of. Both of the Gotham residents paused and looked into the alley. The growling got louder as whatever was making the noise got closer. The first thing they were able to make out were two front legs that were dark-ish light blue. Within the next few seconds, they couldn't make out much else, besides some of the creature's face. Its face looked to be completely white, with small horns on top of its head, its eyes glowed a bright blue, and most terrifying of all, its giant mouth was open in a salivated snarl, showing off the creature's massive sharp teeth. Batman raised one of his hands in caution as he got ready to take a step back. The Joker, seeing that the creature was completely locked onto Batman, grinned.
"I'll just leave you two here to get acquainted, catch you later, Batsy!" he laughed before running away into the night. The Joker's signature cackle echoed throughout the streets. Batman grunted under his breath in frustration.
"Just what I need," he grumbled. The creature made no move towards the bat, only its tail flicking back and forth. Now that it was just him and the creature, he was able to try to get a better look at it. From what little he could see of the creature from outside of the alley's shadow, the creature was covered in wounds. Cuts and scratches littered its body, most of them looking somewhat fresh. Glancing downward, he saw blood covering the alley floor. The bat's eyebrows furrowed underneath his mask. All the creature saw was the eyes of his cowl narrow. It growled a little louder in response.
"I'm not going to hurt you," he whispered gently as he put his hands up in the universal sign of surrender/peace. "I can help you." he continued while daring to take a step forward. The creature made no move to retaliate, only growling even louder and narrowing its eyes at him. Batman understood the look, 'You hurt me, and I won't hesitate to eat you.' Nodding to himself, he walked forward slowly. When he got within two or so feet of the creature, it opened its mouth a bit more and spiked the pitch in its growl. Batman held his ground and gently set one of his hands on top of the creature's snout, the other disappearing inside his cape. He watched as the edges of the creature's mouth tried to relax but it seemed to try to stop it from doing so. The edges of the creature's eyes glistened. Clenching its teeth it tried to hold itself back from, inevitably, breaking down. The final straw was the creature's breath becoming ragged before it broke down and pushed its head against Batman's chest. The capped crusader stood still as he rubbed the side of the broken creature's jaw gently. The dark knight kept his shock to himself when the creature started to shrink. Batman caught the creature in his arms. It was the size of an average adult cat. One hand held the bottom of the cat-sized creature while the other rested on its head, holding it close to him. Walking towards the Batmobile, he commed Alfred.
"Alfred, I need you to get the medical wing of the Batcave ready," Batman stated.
"Sir? Are you alright?" Alfred questioned worriedly.
"Yes Alfred, I'm fine. However, I can not say the same for my," he paused as he looked down at the creature silently crying in his lap. "guest."
"Very well sir, it will be ready as soon as you arrive," Alfred confirmed. Nodding, Batman cut the com. Stepping on the gas, the Batmobile took off. He glanced down when the creature flinched.
"Hurts," a weak girl voice whimpered out. Grunting the dark knight put one of his hands on top of the creature's head and began scratching gently while still keeping his eyes on the road. Even when she relaxed he still kept one of his hands on her head. His eyes narrowed slightly when he saw one of the secret entrances to the Batcave. The entrance flew open and closed again once the Batmobile had entered. Stopping his car he got out. Making sure not to jostle her wounds as he moves.
"Oh my," Alfred muttered with a hint of sympathy. Batman followed Alfred as they both headed to the medical wing in the Batcave. He set her down on the bed as Alfred began to get ready to clean and bandage all of the creature's wounds. Opening her eyes more the creature looked around the white room. Batman saw it before it happened. The creatures hackles rose as it began looking around a little more frantic. Putting a hand on the side of her head Batman began scratching gently again.
"You're alright," he whispered. The creature turned to him, looking at him. He could see the fear in her big eyes. He observed that her dilated pupils were surrounded by the same aqua marine green as her horns and the rest of her iris was the same blue as the spikes going halfway down her back.
"If you enlarge your self to about my size it would be easier for Alfred to treat your wounds," he pointed out. Looking at Alfred, who was standing next to the bed patiently, she seemed to contemplate it. Setting her head down in front of her she whimper before enlarging herself to human size. Alfred took his time cleaning each wound and bandaging it. Everytime she would flinch or whimper in pain, Batman would rub the side of her head.
"All finished, a few days of rest and you should be good enough to run around again. However, I suggest not using your right wing for at least 3 weeks, whatever happend to it has severely damage the bones in it," Alfred assessed. Sighing in relief the creature nodded. Both males watched as her breath evened out as she fell asleep. Batman stood up and headed out to the Batcomputer. Pulling his cowl off Bruce began to tried to find anything on the creature.
"Sir?" Alfred asked.
"Yes Alfred?"
"I am greatly concerned for that creature," he voiced. Bruce raised a brow at his butler. Clearing his throat Alfred continued. "Their wing was not just injured by some other animal, nor were any of their wounds for that matter." Narrowing his eyes, Bruce added.
"So you're saying-"
"That every injury on that creature was caused by human hands? Yes," Alfred confirmed. Grunting, Bruce turned back to the computer screen. Pulling up a scan of the creature, him and Alfred looked at the scan. The more and more he read, the more and more angry he got. The creature had multiple bones that were broken and then healed wrong. Some even looked like there were broken repeatedly. The blood sample proved even more disturbing information. Her blood was filled with all kinds of poisons and diseases. Someone was experimenting on the creature, seeming to test over and over how much she could take. A low growl surfaced out of Bruce's throat.
"Why would someone do such horrid things to this creature?" Alfred contemplated out loud. A loud cat like yowl mix with a roar echoed across the Batcave. Standing up imediatly Bruce ran to the medical wing, followed by Alfred. The creature had enlarged to the height of the ceiling as she yowled. Spotting the two males she snarled, but Bruce could see the fear in her eyes.
"You're okay," Bruce whispered as he put up his hands and stepped forward. "We aren't going to hurt you." She glanced over him before looking around the room more frantically, calling out in distress.
"Sir? Maybe they are looking for Batman?" Alfred theorized. Nodding, Bruce got the creature's attention.
"Hey, hey look at me," once the creature looked at him he pulled up his cowl. "It's me, I'm right here," he consoled. Her teeth clenched as tears dripped down her face. Shrinking to cat size she nestled into his chest and began sobbing. Her smaller wings wrapped around his torso as if trying to grab onto his as close as possible. Holding her like he did before he let his cap enclose her. Grunting he walked back out to the Batcomputer and sat down. Alfred watched as he began to type on the keyboard again, the creature resting under his cap, still clutching to Bruce he assumed.
"I am assuming you will be down here all night, Master Bruce?" Alfred raised a brow. The only response he got was a grumble. Nodded, the butler walked towards the elevator. "I will bring your breakfast down in the morning. Goodnight Master Bruce."
"Goodnight Alfred," Bruce mumbled, his attention fully on the screen in front of him. With that the elevator doors closed, leaving Bruce and the creature all alone in the Batcave.
"Do you have a name?" Bruce prompted after a few minutes of silence. The creature poked her head out of his cape and looked up at him with a tilt of her head.
"Hm?"
"Do you have a name?" He asked again while glancing down at her. He observed as the creature's ears flatted against her head.
"Yes and no..." she answered. "I do have a name, but they say I don't have a name," she mumbled out.
"Who's they?"
"The scientist," she whimpered. Putting one of his hands on top of her head he started petting her, all though he couldn't go very far down her neck thanks to her spikes.
"I don't care what the scientist say or think," he grunted as he looked back up at the computer, keeping his anger inside. She hummed before tucking back into his cap to curl up on his chest.
"Airis," she finally told him after minutes went by. Grunting in acknowledgment he continued typing. He continued long into the night, even after Airis had fallen asleep, he continued to try to find anything on the people who had done this to Airis.
DPxDC Writing Prompt??!!
I know this isn't my usual fare but I just... It popped into my head and I'm going to release it into the wild and see if anyone wants to play with the idea!
After Danny becomes a Halfa and keeps having weird problems with his powers, his parents catch on in like 3 days. HOWEVER their first thought absolutely has nothing to do with ghosts! They just think he's a Meta and start trying to figure out which of them he got the gene from and whether they can activate it in themselves.
They get less and less obsessed with ghosts and become non-evil Meta enthusiasts. They just want to know more! They try and start a website like Ancestry.com to try and track where Meta genes come from and offer free DNA testing kits and shit.
This ends up with a huge misunderstanding and someone from the Justice League goes to Amity assuming they're up to no good and plotting to track down and experiment on the Metas who order their kits.
Bonus if they break in and find Danny in the lab and think he's being held prisoner or something.
DP x DC: Downed Danny Prompt
The Justice League are enlisted/hired by the GIW to capture and contain a dangerous ecto-entity. With the media blackout of Amity Park, the JL only have Constance’s input on these types of creatures. Since dangerous beings of the Infinite Realms, ones with intent on destruction, are the ones known to leave the Realms, the JL believe the GIW and begin to work with them on a plan.
The GIW have a ghost contained as bait. A big white creature covered in fur and ice, not unlike descriptions of yeti. It growls and howls at anyone that happens to come near or make eye contact. It speaks in what seems to be a mix of Esperanto and static. What is understood from it tends to be along the lines of “destroy you if you-“ before whatever is said is lost to ear-splitting static.
The creature is all claws and danger and does little to make the JL think that the entity they are after is not a villain. It only makes it seem more likely.
With a trap set far north, above any human civilization that could get caught in the crossfire, and following the tracking path the entity seems to be taking (following the bait), they wait to enact their plan. Drs. Jack and Maddie Fenton work with them to create the weapons and containment unit that can burst on with the press of a button.
When the entity appears, the JL do not expect it to look like a child. At least, not this much. All lanky limbs and awkward posture, it almost seems the perfect image of a teenager. Until one notices… the uncanniness. Bright, wild, green eyes that reminds Batman of one of his sons. Untamed white hair that drifts without a breeze. Claws. Fangs. It’s not human.
It barks something that strange screeching mixed language at them. It’s angry and has spotted the bait. It says the same thing, this time it’s hands light up green. Demanding. Its stance changes. It’s looking for a fight.
The yeti says something back that seems to only anger the entity further. Its fangs seems to grow longer, nails sharper, eyes brighter, and it aims a hand in the general direction of those present, outside of the yeti.
This is “Phantom.” The ecto-entity the GIW have been after for its destruction on the living plane for years. The one that seems hundreds of years old with pottery and paintings and crafts backing up the claim. It needs to be stopped. So the JL don’t hesitate.
The skill sets of ghosts were explained early on, so each member is ready with a Fenton-made weapon. Phantom’s eyes only harden when they aim them towards him.
Rather than immediately fight, like they assumed it would do, it flies straight towards the yeti. And suddenly, it’s falling.
None of the JL took the shot, but one of the Fenton’s (bundled in ghost proof arctic gear and holding the strongest hitting weapons), did.
Phantom goes down, hard.
The yeti flips out, growling and pulling at the exit chains that bind it. It’s making horrible, gut wrenching sounds and pulling towards the downed ghost until the binds break and it’s leaping towards it. The GIW slam on the ghost shield containment unit and the two are trapped together.
It’s only when the yeti is making mournful cries, holding a small shape as close as it can, green spilling and staining the white, white snow does the JL think that maybe, just maybe, they fucked up. That they should have done more research rather than blindly trust a group that convinced them that they only have humanity’s best interest.
*Feel free to use or add to it. I may make a full detailed one-shot of it soon too
Danny Phantom & Naruto crossover idea
As Minato collapsed into the dirt alongside his wife, gaping holes in both their middles, all he could feel was a strange relief. They saved their home. They saved Naruto. Their son was safe.
His relief soon turned to confusion though. He wasn't entirely sure how long it took for someone's soul to be eaten but he's pretty sure it should have happened by now. Was the Reaper just taking it's time? Perhaps it wanted to draw out the pain for as long as possible before tearing his soul out.
Glancing back at the hulking figure Minato felt what was left of his stomach drop. The beast, once a huge menacing shadow with glowing green eyes, (eyes that were brighter then even the purest healing chakra) was shrinking. Soon it was no bigger then a genin, the shadows fell away to reveal a disturbingly human form.
It hovered in the air in an almost groggy way before snapping to attention! It looked at Minato 'This is it...' the young Hokage thought as the creature flew straight at him.
Much to Minato's surprise the creature didn't immediately snatch his soul, instead opting to frantically fly around him and Kushina making destressed noises in what had to be an unknown language.
The creature, much to Minato's horror, reached for Kushina.
"NO!" He yelled with all his remaining strength, "Don't touch her! I'm the one you want!"
The creature jolted at Minato's yelling then turned to him. Finally it spoke for the first time.
"D-don't... be scared," It said slowly almost like it was trying to remember what the words meant. "I'm going to help you."
The last of the shadows fell away and Minato was met with the face of a child. A child who's tears were falling freely from his face.
He reached out to both fallen shinobi engulfing them in a green energy Minato recognized as healing chakra. Although he'd never felt it this cold before.
"I don't understand," he gasped out feeling his lungs and heart stitch themselves back together. "Aren't you here to eat my soul?"
The boy's tearful face twisted into disgust, "Why would I want to do that? Look, just stop talking this is harder then it looks."
When Kushina felt her eyes fluttered open she wasn't expecting to see her husbands relived smiling face next to her own, she definitely wasn't expecting to see a flying teenager with glowing eyes healing her wounds.
"W...what's happening?" She slurred, "Wh... Naruto!" Her arms thrashed around trying to force the rest of her body up.
"Hey! Calm down! Your wounds will reopen!" The glowing boy yelped.
"I don't care! I need my baby!"
The boy quickly flew out of sight only to return with a familiar bundle. "Look he's fine! You can relax he's safe."
Kushina felt a new wave of tears, her baby was okay. And so was she apparently?
"You saved us." She concluded, looking at the strange boy.
"Yes, you'll both be fine now. But you might not wanna move around too much for a few weeks." The boy said with a tired chuckle. He leaned down and placed Naruto between the two of them.
Instinctively, Kushina reached over to place a hand on her baby and felt the tips of Minato's fingers against the blanket. He smiled at her. It was a messy, watery, bloody smile and she never wanted it to end. They were alive. Their son wasn't alone.
"Thank you."
The boy blushed green and shifted awkwardly. "Uh, you're welcome."
"I still don't understand why you helped us," Minato said looking at the boy, "You didn't have too."
The boy looked confused now, "If you can help someone then of course you have to, that's what I think anyway."
Before either of the two could respond a wall of green cut through the air. The boy made his way towards it, "Hopefully the next time we meet will be under better circumstances. Oh, and congrats on your baby!"
And with that the teen disappeared.
What did he mean by next time?
