Eventually you told Hal some important information that he had to tell dirk, for getting you two together and all, you were extremely touch starved

You lacked human connection so you gravitated to dirk. He felt so perfect, like he’d fit in your arms perfectly.

Once he found out he felt so bad! He was ignoring you and left you with h a l because he couldn’t handle his giant fucking crush!

He immediately sprung into action. Hugging you, holding your hand, letting you sit with him while he was working. It was nice.

It was one of those days. Dirk was working way too hard and you had to climb the insufferable ladder to get to his ocean house, you’re the only one who lived “close by” so jake, roxy, and Jane decided that you would go check up on him. You, of course, didn’t mind. He was your best friend and you’d be damned if he was gonna feel bad on your watch.

He watched you cilmb up, what the fuck were you doing? Why were you coming here? Why did you decide this would be a good idea?! The climb was horrible. The ladder was wet and gross and one wrong move could get you killed. Each step was careful and precise. Dirk watched you carefully to make sure you wouldn’t fall. But, as ironic as it sounds, the feeling of someone watching you filled you with fear! and now you’re plummeting into the ocean!

Dirk immediately grabbed his hoverboard and raced down to get you. What would happen if he couldn’t get to you. His best friend dead because he couldn’t help watching you climb the god forsaken ladder to his house.

You fell, of course you were falling, but hey. Oh look it’s dirk. He immediately raced down and grabbed you by the waist before you fell even more into your inevitable death. He held you close.

“Why did you do that?” He said, his voice was cracking as tears threatened to break is cool kid facade

“You mean fall?” You said back in a calm and teasing voice.

“No, why were you coming here in the first place.”

When you meet it’s almost an immediate click. When your friendship starts he’s so confused. Dirk had had crushes before but never like this. He’s so confused about how to feel about you. At first he thought he was in love with you. But the more he got to know you he realized he wasn’t exactly “in love with you” he was just so happy to be around and with you!
