‪I’ve really been loving practicing my landscape pictures by loading up mapcrunch and drawing what I see, but this time I wanted to make it a little more mine, hence the dragonair! 😊 Hope you all like it! 🥰‬

A Stirring among the dry Bones

Phantump was distressed. The child had only survived the massacre, because Zorua’s human had hidden it in a hollow tree, but without food nor water it wouldn’t be able to survive for long. It would die and possess the tree and then it would be just the same as Phantump. Phantump did not want that.

Pokédex Entry for Phantump: According to old tales, these Pokémon are stumps possessed by the spirits of children who died while lost in the forest.

On stormy days and rain-soaked nights, where songs are sung, a maiden's plights, a little town of woe and fear, a sacrifice of one most dear.

They must appease the one above, they say, and tie the one they love to stake and stay her on the hill: For beast to find, do what he will.

When they returned in morning's light, the maiden was no more in sight. They sighed and sang a song most dire, the stake thrown on the fun'ral pyre

Is he still the beast so cruel? Our maiden just a death-scared fool? Our questions, they will never quell, but this is what this tale will tell...

The maiden pure, the land's great bane; the world has ne'er seen both again. While up above, twixt skin and scale- ...My friend, that's for another tale.

Yet anout Smaugust post! Today, @pencilcat's prompts say 'Long', and I couldn't choose any different from this piece from 2022. I really wanted to get the vibe of those classic pieces in new age shops of dragons and maidens, and I'm really pleased with how it came out in the end!

Dragonite Line Reimagined (Somewhat!)

I've grown to really love this line, but I always wished Dragonair and Dragonite shared more traits, so I threw together my ideas to make them more cohesive!

My first point of order was putting little eyelashies on! I think it helps make their faces look similar. Next: Orbs carry over to Dragonite! Next: Long tail throughout, and more body thickness to Dratini and (to a lesser extent) Dragonair, and distributed the weight in Dragonite's form so it's more elongated, but still chunky!

Lastly, coloration! I added yellows/oranges to Dratini and Dragonair, and a sky-blue to Dragonite so the palette swap feels less jarring!

Altogether, I like how these came out, even if they're just for fun silly doodles.
