Just two teens about to cause life altering crimes. Nothing could go wrong, right? :)
It's really interesting to be watching Tommy's VODs after Novemeber 16th. Previously I had only watched Techno's and then just seen clips and heard about the other events like Tommy's exile.
The VOD the day after he and Ranboo burned down George's house is so interesting knowing what happens. Like New L'Manberg was doomed from the beginning. When Tubbo gave Tommy probation, everyone literally made fun of him for it which kinda shows that no one cared what had happened except Dream. George didn't care his house got burned down. He was just annoyed he had to rebuild it. Dream was the only one up in arms about it.
Like yeah Tommy messed up and shouldn't have burned the house down but look at everything that's happened on the server to his house. Also did Tommy even know George was the king canonically? Like I know it because Techno went to fight him when it happened but it's never mentioned in Tommy's POV until he burns his house.
It's very interesting to watch the story build despite knowing the ending and parts of it.
Can anyone guess where I am in watching Tommy's VODs?
I will admit that I have been putting off watching this part of the story for a while but I'm one stream off where Tommy's exiled.

I really like this sketch. I might make a fuller piece out of these or the concept. :D
Someone either stop me or hit me up, I could go on a rant about the storytelling of the Dream SMP and how freaking cool it is. For being mostly improv with like a outlined plan, there is some cool stuff that just accidnetal happens that just adds so much depth.
Like I could write a whole essay.

Not incredibly detailed but I'm still brainrotting over the little details of the exile arc so you guys get tiny imaginary Tubbo.
Tommy's escaped to Techno's and he is absolutely wrecking havoc with Ghostbur.
Researching torture to see if Exile was actually technically torture and seeing a lot of definitions that can fit with what happened in Exile
(And I mean this in a “wow Exile feels like it gets worse every time you think about it” way not like. It Wasn’t That Bad)
currently thinking about how tommy said that ctommy waking up underwater every day in exile was a metaphor for his mental health, and that the further and further out to sea he got and the further he was sinking the more deteriorated he became and eventually he would end up unable to resurface had they not done something about cdream.
currently thinking about how if ctommy couldn't resurface, he'd drown in his own thoughts, believing his friends and family all hated him. nobody would see the kid they once knew in him anymore. maybe he'd never be seen again at all.
currently thinking about how ctommy saw one anxious, forgetful enderman lad, roped him into a crime, and took 100% of the fall when they didn't get away with it. ctommy could have ignored the situation. he didnt have to go to ctubbo and say "it was just me, man". as cranboo said, he could have said it was all him. there was evidence it was him.
but i think that after everything, ctommy would still be unable to live with himself if it'd been cranboo in exile instead of him. on the surface, he's a child. a soldier and a veteran and a criminal, yes, but still a child.
but beneath that, he's learnt. he's decided he'd rather throw himself into trouble than let his friends go through any amount of suffering.
i think that if cranboo were to ask, "why did you do that?" ctommy would sigh, that familiar shaky sigh we all know, and he'd speak quietly in reply, "i know what some of those bastards are capable of. i'd rather go through all that than have you do it for me. plus, it wasn't your fault."
or maybe that's just me.
