Shout out to the only straight couple ever
I've seen plenty of Eury x Zeus, Poseidon x Ody x Zeus, Penelope x Ody x Sirenelope, Circe x Calypso, Eury x Ares.. I'm here to bring upon you my addition to this rise in ships. Lotus eater X Cloud Winion I call them white lotus.
Thank you for coming to my ted talk :D!
You know it's funny, this was supposed to be an art blog but it's kind of turned into my ramblings about epic the musical
I blame the tumblr epic community for being so welcoming and cool
Something I've been thinking a lot about recently
Would be Eurylochus's line in mutiny, "If you want all the power you must carry all the blame!" Because even though he sings it to Odysseus, it's not about Odysseus at all. That line perfectly encapsulates Eurylochus's own arc, and foreshadows his death.
I'm sure other people have talked about this as well, but I had to comment on it and how clever it is. Because Eurylochus did want all the power. For a while now, I think. That isn't to say he's been power hungry, but throughout the course of the musical he has grown increasingly dissatisfied with Ody's decisions. Especially from Ocean saga onwards, when Polites isn't there to keep the peace, I get the vibe that he feels that if only he was the one in charge, he could get them home. He would never have gotten them into these dangerous situations they find themselves in. It's his coping mechanism - blaming Odysseus helps keep his own guilt about the wind bag at bay. It's probably why he feels he can tell Odysseus about the wind bag, because he feels that it isn't entirely his fault.
Odysseus doesn't agree, of course, and all of this pent up anger and frustration finally comes to a head in Mutiny. Eurylochus yells this line to him, fully believing that Odysseus doesn't deserve to be in charge anymore and he has a point but that's a post for another day. What Eurylochus doesn't realise, though, is that when he takes Odysseus's power from him and becomes the leader, he will be held to the same standard.
So when he chooses to kill those cows, his words become a self fulfilling prophecy. For a moment, he had all the power. He made a choice. And he had to carry all the blame.
I used to set Ruthlessness as my alarm - nothing gets you out of bed quicker than hearing those waves and knowing you only have a few seconds before the POSEIDONs start
Fell asleep while listening to Epic. Woke up to "OOOOOOODYSSEUS OF ITHACA" was terrified.
I'm introducing my mom to Epic
It's not going well, she really hates the winions  đ  She thinks the name winions is not original cause it sounds too much like minions. So far she has referred to them as 'furries' and 'ewoks'...

I know I said this wasn't really an art account anymore...but this is epic the musical related so I hope you guys like it anyway? If I could go back and redo it there is a lot of things I'd change (namely Athena's design) but for now I'm pretty happy with it
Guys. Guys. The wisdom saga. oh my word. I was legitimately holding back tears. I canât believe it. Mr Jalapeño youâve done it again
Listening to the Troy saga with my sister, she says Luke Holtâs voice sounds like how hot cocoa tastes đ„ș
I was wondering if maybe the sirens can only change to look like people who are around the same age as them (yes Iâm still obsessed with the thunder saga, I promise Iâll write about wisdom saga soon)
Now obviously thereâs no mythological or canonical reason why they would but it would certainly make things more interesting. Penelope is a middle aged woman so I imagine that Sirenope would have to be the eldest and most capable, most likely the leader as well.
And Odysseusâs daughter would be the youngest. I imagine a baby siren, around ten or so, impersonating this imaginary child. Perhaps this siren is the daughter of Sirenope, who is learning how to hunt from her mother (babyâs first drowning!! They grow up so fast!)
So when viewed through that lens Different Beast becomes even more monstrous because Odysseus is killing a child in front of its mother. He is also, ironically, putting Sirenope through the same pain he has felt ever since Poseidon - he is making her experience the guilt of a leader whose actions directly led to their people getting killed.
I saw a post that suggested Odysseus might have spared Sirenopeâs life so she could live with the guilt of what sheâs done, and I canât help but admire the parallels. Odysseus has not only become a monster, he has become a monster that deals out the exact type of pain that he feels.
And he does it again by giving the torches to Eurylochus in Scylla oh my word-

Odysseus from underworld saga onwards
You know, I'm no expert at dating advice, and sure, maybe I've never tried to marry anyone before, but maybe, just maybe (and hear me out here), calling the woman you're trying to seduce a TRAMP isn't going to help your chances much.
This is me with Epic the musical
Hey remember when I was yapping about a baby siren in different beast? Well I just watched an animatic that had the same idea! It was heartbreaking :D! Go watch it it's really good: https://youtu.be/SlT0G3Ltzu8
Most men on their girlfriends birthday: Update their insta stories and wish her well
Jorge on Taylaâs birthday: Writes her a whole ass song AND compiles all his favourite photos of them together and goes into depth about what he loves about her in each one

Throwback to that time my brother discovered Jorgeâs account through his âhefeffusâ reel
Calypso is honestly the ultimate pick me. I can practically see her singing âyou belong with meâ to poor Odysseus.
Ody fashions himself a hut opposite hers so they donât have to share a bed, and every time he looks up sheâs at the window with a sign.
âYou ok?â You trapped me on an island what do you think the answer is Calypso??
Guys I know Iâve been posting a lot today but I was listening to thunder bringer and there was a flash of lightning as the riff started it was PERFECTLY IN TIME
Guys I can't wait to update my banner profile to the vengeance saga album cover!!
Epic from the perspective of someone on the other ships is like, so funny to me
I mean, imagine you have just got through the worst war of your life. Ten long years and youâre finally able to see your family again. Then your captain/commodore I guess/king says heâs going to go check out this creepy island.
Whatever, you were feeling hungry anyways. Then itâs off to a cave, where you sit around waiting for a weirdly long time until the crew of the fleetâs flagship emerge significantly worse for wear. The really nice guy who used to share his lunch with you sometimes is gone. The king is busy having an argument with thin air on his ship. Everyone is covered in blood.
Oh well, at least you can enjoy this mutton they brought back.
Then thereâs a massive freaking storm and youâre literally about to die before youâre handed a harpoon and told to throw it as hard as you can at the sky? And you end up tethered to this beautiful floating island but you canât even appreciate it because the king is busy having an argument with his first mate. Itâs super awkward for everyone else.
The king disappears and returns with a cool glowing bag which these weird little creatures seem to think is treasure, but the king insists is dangerous. You shrug it off and go back to your ship.
Finally, nine days of peace! Nothing weird happens and youâre starting to believe you might actually make it home when THE FREAKING STORM COMES BACK YOU THOUGHT YOU WERE DONE WITH THIS!!
Youâre blown away from your home and your family and end up in this scary place with a whole bunch of giants and a very angry Poseidon singing about a cyclops. And youâre like what?? We never blinded a cyclops?? What are you talking about?? And then before you have a chance to question it you straight up drown in a tidal wave conjured to teach someone else a lesson.
No wonder they were so mad in the underworld. When does a man become a monster?? Probably when he doesnât even bother providing context to his men before they die!
