Winter Training
I’m officially back at college for winter training and my week of practices can be summed up in the following statement:
I’m cold.
In my defense I’ve never run in the winter before. We’ve been running on the roads for the past couple days because the track is still snowy and the only reason I’m still hanging in there is because I bring a box of tissues to practice with me. I can’t feel my legs and my nose runs constantly because I breathe through my nose when I run.
That doesn’t mean I’m not enjoying training though. The only day struggled was with 800m repeats (and I always struggle with those). Yesterday we ran 150m (my favorite distance) and I was the only person on the team happy to be out there. I know tomorrow will be another hard distance day, but I’m staying strong.
In other news, my roommate from last semester is moving to a new hall to be closer to her friends, and I will be rooming with the best runner on the team next semester. I really respect her a lot and I think we have a lot in common, so maybe rooming with her will help motivate me even more.

I think it’s important to sometimes take a step back and remind yourself why you started, sometimes in the blur of daily life we forgot our initial goals.

How to stay motivated Take it one day at a time Surround yourself with positivity Create a vision board Make smart goals Reward yourself Believe in yourself Acknowledge your positive attributes Recognize your progress Visualize accomplishing your goals Be kind to yourself Don’t compare yourself to others

A little progress each day adds up to Big Results! #Workout Motivation
