For the Dancing and Dreaming
Chapter 2 and 3 are up!
Read on AO3 and FF.Net
Sneak Peek
At the age of fourteen, Rin congratulated herself on her level of stealth as she crawled towards the illuminated door of Kaede’s hut. She stopped within the touch of light to situate herself behind a large pot. Crouching down small, she fit almost perfectly in the space. Sneak and stealth were essential to her mission. Conversation leaked from the hut in hushed tones. Rin scooted closer to gain a better understanding of their words.
“I just don’t know what to do, Kaede.” Kagome’s voice was uncharacteristically morose, making Rin’s heart drop to her stomach.
“Our destinies are always unclear, child,” Kaede replied comfortingly.

Summary: Midorima inadvertently loses his lucky spool of red thread. As fate would have it, his classmate, Higurashi, steps in to help him out. The red thread of fate strikes again, or so Takao says.
“What do you know about kyudo?”
“Is that a trick question?”
“In kyudo, you have to know how to lose. Your life can’t be over because you were defeated.”
Sing for Me, Songbird
Summary: Kagome is a down-on-her-luck singer-songwriter performing at Mushin's Bar hoping one day to find bigger meaning. One night she meets Sesshomaru, a lonely businessman longing for realness. Their relationship isn't perfect, but it's worth it.
Kagome’s world faded into the feeling of the strings underneath calloused fingers and the vibration of notes. The rise and fall of her voice swayed the crowd along like a powerful current. Within the realm of her music, she was powerful and she could do anything. Heartbreak and sorrow couldn’t reach her here as it was released with each breath and sound she made.
Like a Comet

Summary: Kakashi gets roped into getting a palm reading from a visiting fortune teller who claims his future bride will come crashing into his life with a spirit of fire. Even though he attempts to brush it off, Kakashi faces his fate as a familiar villager who needs rescuing.
Snippet:
“Love is not something that comes easy to a seasoned ninja such as you,” Koujiko explained. “You hold everyone at arm’s length. Not to protect them, but to protect yourself.”
“A shinobi must not have earthly attachments, Fortune Teller. Any ninja worth their salt would know that.” Kakashi replied casually.
Koujiko frowned and pulled his palm closer once again. Her finger pressed to a spot in the middle of his palm with a gasp.
“See, right there? There is hope for you, Copy Ninja. Your marriage line is very prominent here. The chaos of your love line and marriage line come together strong here. Your future bride has a fiery spirit and will enter your life with the ferocity of a comet. You are lucky, sir, she’s quite lovely.”
Koujiko leaned back into her piles of pillows with reverent breath. Her eyes stared off into the distance as though she were looking into the eyes of this fake woman.
Kakashi retrieved his hand with a blatantly exasperated crease in his brow. Marriage had been out of the question since he was a teenager. Witnessing the many deaths of loved ones and seeing his comrade’s partners fall to shambles after their demise cemented his decision long ago. Anger swelled into his belly at the audacity of the fortune teller for implying he would have to suffer that fate. To love was to lose and to lose was to suffer. And he was sick of losing. Kakashi opened his mouth to argue with her, but the fortune teller raised her hand to demand silence.
“You are powerless to avoid such divine intervention, Hatake. Take things one step at a time. The strings of Fate will arrange themselves eventually.”
Sesshomaru Mer-made a Mistake
Summary: All Kagome wanted to do was show Rin what a real-life mermaid would look like. She didn't anticipate the ire of a protective demon lord.
Snippet
In the stream, Kagome propped herself on a rock leaving most of her body visible. However, it was her body that she was deeply mesmerized by. Tightly hugging her chest were vibrant pink scales trailing down to her hips. Where Kagome’s legs should have been was a flowing tail. It flowed in the crystalline water like stranded silks and was the color of a deep, pink sunset. It glittered shades of oranges and whites so spectacular in the sunlight that Rin could not formulate words.
A brief note ….
Being a fanfic writer and living in the real world right now is really hard so I will be taking a brief hiatus. Chapters for Sing for Me, Songbird are planned out and need to be written.
I don’t plan on being gone for long, but I’m very tired and feel disconnected from fandom right now. Sometimes I feel like I put a lot into my work without much coming back to me. Maybe it’s my writing style, maybe it’s what I write about. I don’t know, but it gets lonely in a strange way.
I don’t mean to sound ungrateful to anyone or complain. I send all my love to the folks who take the time and effort to read and interact with my silly little stories. You are the reason fandoms stay strong and I appreciate you. 💖
Anyways, to end this weird vent-announcement post, please remember to drink water and stay safe out there loves. I’ll see you again soon.

Campfire Story
Summary: Kagome and Sesshomaru have differing opinions on a particular campfire story.
Snippet:
Glancing back to her newfound critic, she found Sesshomaru deep in thought as he digested her words. The firelight danced in the reflection of his scrutinizing tawny gaze. Suddenly, he met her gaze catching Kagome off guard. Surprised by the sudden eye contact, the miko squeaked and snapped her eyes to the fire.
She sensed Sesshomaru leave as she attended to the fire. Stoking the burning embers with a stick, Kagome pondered her own tale of romantic sacrifice. Despite the tale’s tragic ending the miko smiled softly to herself. A love that was so strong that the lovers were together even in death. It was morbidly beautiful and touching.
