Reasons a Courier might go to the DLCs
For those write Fallout fic or just enjoy the RP aspect of the game, and need a reason as to why the courier drops their current objective to hang out in Utah for a month or something

Dead Money
The Courier is a treasure hunter and the Sierra Madre is their white whale
The Courier genuinely wants to "Begin Again" after what they've been through
The Courier has heard the legends of the Sierra Madre and wants to find out the truth
The Courier is following the trail of Elijah/Christine following OWB
After destroying/allying with the Brotherhood of Steel, the Courier is keen to investigate the abandoned BoS bunker.
Honest Hearts
The Courier is someone who'd have interest in New Canaan (Wether that be a New Canaanite themself, an anthropologist, etc)
The Courier is in dire need of money (Perhaps to pass the Strip's credit check?) and sees the Caravan as a golden oppurtunity.
The Courier has experience as a Caravaneer, wether in bakcstory or for Crimson Caravan in-game, and is looking to put those skills to work.
After travelling with Cass, the Courier feels obligated to help a Caravan Company in need.
The Courier has heard the rumours of the Malpais Legate living up North, and wants to track him down (For better or for worse)
Old Word Blues
OWB is kinda limited in realistically justifying since the Courier has next-to-no clue what they are getting into. Still, you have a few ways to frame it.
The Courier (Or, one of their companions perhaps?) has a history with Big MT Technology and is able to recognise the sattelite as such. This is the main way I'd play a character who understands that they are going to Big MT, or at least somewhere associated with it. Potential to involve a desire to trace Elijah's steps post DM.
The Courier is a scavenger/Brotherhood member/Follower of the Apocalypse/etc and is interested in technology they don't understand/can learn from.
The Courier is a movie/music buff and just wanted to watch the midnight movie/enjoy the broadcast.
Lonesome Road
The Courier is simply intrigued by Ulysses' broadcast in of itself.
The Courier is familiar with Ulysses from Johnson Nash/OWB/Mentions in other DLCs and is finally tracking him down.
The Courier knows something happened in the Divide but doesn't know they are to blame, and Ulysses' broadcast sparks a desire to investigate.
The Courier knows exactly what happened at the Divide and wants to tie up some loose ends.
The Courier has reason to explore the Divide independant of Ulysses, such as wanting to explore the missile silos or finding a thrill in extreme survival scenarios. Compliments AUs of LR where Ulysses is mistaken surrounding the Courier's involvement in the Divide's destruction.

I think the trick to running fallout new Vegas is to never get too excited, it’ll spook the game and crash to desktop. You have to remain calm and collected
Anyways I have 2 ocs currently, Six is the courier, hard of hearing since birth he can read lips and communicate with those who are hearing, but would sign majority of the time if more people could understand him, he has a history working undercover in the railroad.
My other is a self insert who works as a performer living in Good Neighbor and dresses like a clown 90% of the time. Super autistic but also overwhelmingly charismatic and strong, not the sharpest tool in the shed but it’s okay for them to be a little stupid sometimes, as a treat.
Having an oc while not being an artist is its own form of punishment bc why do I have pages upon pages of descriptions and lore on these silly little gay people in my head with no way to share it in an interesting way
INCREDIBLE INSANE AMAZING
HELLOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! I MADE AN ANIMATIC!!!!!!!! this features my courier 6 oc, vulture, and some moments from his michevious adventures with his buddiess! boone is quetly pining type, in my opinion, and he usually waits for other people to make a first move, be it friendship or something more. after he lost carla, he lost his will to be approacable at all, so it's a surprise even for him when he starts to ... like :) ... the courier. luckily, my man vulture is a social guy, but!!! he does not rush anything and he hesitates to make a first move, because he's afraid as fuck to make a mistake and push boone too hard and ruin the carefully nurtured bond between them.
(veronica and acrade SHIP this.) so, the resolution of their ..... situation ',:) .... happened very slowly. but in the end, they made it!! and now, here's some of my FAVOURITE keyframes for ya!!!! (there's a lot of them)
