I'm still learning to draw

I haven't posted drawings here for a long time because I didn't draw drow, but now I'm drawing a series with drow (and weird humor). I hope that the drawing courses benefited me and I will publish drawings here soon.

How can mermay and drow be united?

Dialogue somewhere in Luskan.

Yvonnel: So, I found an interesting book and I'm going to take a vacation to study it.

Gromph: What?! You can't give up everything like that! You have a lot of responsibilities! Wait, what book is this?

Y: The Ancient Magic of Transformation, by W. Disney.

G: Very strange runes, better give it to me.

Y: No, but you can study it with me on vacation.

G: This can be very dangerous magic.

Y: Come on, what could go wrong?

Crazy AU...

...where Yvonnel cast a curse of madness on Drizzt and rolled a 20. As a result of this, Drizzt realized himself as a priestess of Lolth and became the Supreme Mother of Menzoberranzan.

Crazy AU...

P.S.: Thanks to Lina and Rosario for this idea.

Missing scene...

...which describes the moment when Gromph first meets Kimmuriel after the events of the book Archmage. I thought that this happened in ringing silence, where Gromph did not have decent words to convey his feelings to the psionicist. I know it's hard to imagine a situation where Gromph wouldn't have the words to comment, but with Kimmuriel nothing is impossible :D

Missing Scene...

P.S.: I decided to make this drawing without a line; surprisingly, I felt comfortable drawing.

Ay D&D people, help me out here.

What the fuck is Drifish and why doesn't it exist anymore?

I've went all over the internet and there is no sign if it's existance. It was a language used by driders or drow in Forgotten Realms.

Anyone know anything?

In the twilight's gentle embrace, we meet,

Where shadows dance and silence sweeps the street.

A world of whispers, where the stars confide,

Our secrets buried deep, where dreams reside.

Your eyes, two lanterns in the dusky haze,

Guide me through the night’s uncharted maze.

In every glance, a tale of love untold,

A story written in the stars of old.

Beneath the moon’s soft silver light, we stand,

Two souls entwined, like threads of golden sand.

In every touch, the world around us fades,

And time itself slips through the darkened glades.

In realms of magic, where the heart commands,

We wander through enchanted, mystic lands.

With every step, the night blooms wild and free,

A garden grown from love’s own mystery.

Yet in this dark, where all the lost things go,

Our hearts, like fireflies, flicker, burn, and glow.

For in your arms, the night turns soft and sweet,

And in your kiss, the universe feels complete.

So let us dream, where fantasy and fate,

Entwine our hearts, and time suspends its weight.

For in this world of wonder, dark and deep,

Our love’s a star, that never falls asleep.

Drow matrons would probably prefer the men fully armed and robed.

It reflects the masculine standard of beauty: the hard-fighting warrior bathing his gear in the blood of the matron's enemies for her pleasure.

Plus, the matrons would consider it an emasculation of the males by stripping the males off their gear at her command. Which would probably heighten the sense of dominance of females in the drow society.

Zaknafein Do'Urden being a Drow Supremacist in a woke Forgotten Realms is the best part of his resurrection.

If only the current books focused solely on Zak being annoyed that his grandson is half-drow, amongst other things.

I may be wrong, but previous Drizzt stories showed that half drow are not as skilled or powerful as pure drow.

So Zak pitying Drizzt's child is justified to an extent.

Elf Lore in the Forgotten Realms for BG3 Players who are Unfamiliar

I've been seeing some...uninformed takes lately about certain elf characters from BG3, so let me just throw some stuff out there for y'all to consider.

Elves in FR live to be about 750.

They physically mature at roughly the same rate as humans i.e. 18-20.

Culturally, elves don't consider other elves emotionally mature i.e. adults until the age of 100, at which point they may choose an adult name to go by.

What does this mean, logically? Well, consider their very long lifespan. If you are going to live 750 years, your perspective on wisdom is going to be quite different from a human's. While 60 years might be plenty mature for a human, for an elf, that means you still haven't had enough time to watch all of your shorter lived friends pass, which I imagine is something of an emotional milestone for elves.

Halsin is 350. This means he's just hitting middle-age.

Astarion is 239 (Idle Champions claims he's 350, but I call bullshit because his birth and death dates are literally in BG3 and also IC frequently gives the characters bullshit ages, like they say Jaheira is 36, which couldn't have been true even during BG1). He died at 39, which is quite young, but he had the same emotional maturity as a human 39 year old at the time, so he's not Like That because he's undeveloped. He's Like That because he's a snapshot of a privileged young nobleman who then spent 200 years being used and abused by the worst sort of person imaginable. He wasn't a full adult by elven standards, though, and I'm sure there's lots of elven rites of passage he didn't get to experience because he was dead.

BG3 does not mechanically distinguish between sun elves and moon elves and simply puts them all under the high elf umbrella, but they are very much a thing in the lore and have distinct appearances, cultures, and histories.

Moon elves tend to have black, blue, or silver-white hair and have pale skin, sometimes with a bluish hue. Their eyes are usually blue or green, sometimes with gold flecks.

Sun elves tend to have blond, black, or red hair and brown skin tones. Their eyes are usually green, gold, black, copper, silver, or hazel.

Based on his appearance, Astarion is probably a moon elf, and it's likely his original eye colour was either blue or green.

There are many other types of elves than those that are playable in the BG3, such as sea elves, winged elves, star elves, wild elves, and lythari.

It's possible that Shadowheart's father is lythari, because lythari are lycanthropic elves.

Yayyyy I love your game idea for BG3 city! If you’re taking asks, I’d love to read your thoughts about Gale’s school, the one he went to as a child. Maybe that’s where it was discovered he was a prodigy?

Maybe I’ll join in and tag you, too!

I'm sorry it took me so long to answer. I wanted to make it a fic, but then I realised I can only make a headcanon. And there will also be a lot of self-insert (because my school years felt like hell, I was happy to enter my Uni).

A little bit of lore first. As we know, Gale attended the Blackstaff Academy in Waterdeep (he says about it in the Arcane Tower). According to the Forgotten Realms Wiki and other sources Blackstaff is both a school and a university. Only the magically talented students are accepted as apprentices there, and they are at first taught by senior students (probably at the age of university students) and only after a few years they start being taught by professors. So future sorcerers and wizards spend more years in the Blackstaff tower than people do in school IRL. It's like a boarding school and a university campus combined, you can spend up to a couple of decades there.

We also know that Elminster first met Gale when the latter was 8 years old. Maybe it was the age Gale was accepted as an apprentice at Blackstaff. He was young, upset with his own abilities and very talented as a mage. Children at school can be pretty much evil, when it comes to relationships between them. I can picture Gale as a shy, naive person at first. Other children made fun of him both because they all thought they were talented and because he was always "lost in thought". They needed to call him twice or thrice to respond to them. Of course it annoyed everyone and made him an outsider. Maybe he was desperate to have a friend and prove himself in this community, so that he stole the Blackstaff (the staff of the very first headmaster, Khelben Blackstaff himself) and opened a portal to Limbo. /the story with the portal is also from the Arcane Tower dialogue/

In my view he only came to be respected by his peers when he reached the age when apprentices started receiving tutelage from professors and teaching the younger students. That's where, I think, Gale got his experience as a teacher (in the Weave scene he tells the character "I know" if they mention that he is a good teacher). I have a headcanon that his best friend from Blackstaff was a lesbian dragonborn, but she got jealous when he became the Chosen of Mystra, and they parted ways. But that character is only in my head.

We also know that Gale had romantic partners before Mystra. In my opinion he was good-natured, funny and handsome in his late teens and early twenties, and that made him a desirable goal for romance. He most probably liked the attention which he had thrived for in his childhood, so he had a lot of trysts and affairs with fellow Blackstaff apprentices of his age (of all genders and sexes, of course). Yet these romances were not meaningful enough for him to remember them and affect his life. His first serious long term affair was with Mystra, but I think it started after he graduated from Blackstaff.

Even when he was the centre of attention, he was still the weird guy envied for his talents and despised for his vast knowledge. He did not make any bond with his peers (or that bonds were shattered later on), so he had no anchor in the material plane to stop him from pursuing the Goddess of Magic.

That's what I can say on the subject right now. It's very self-indulgent (apart from the "centre of romantic attention" part), because I generally project a lot of myself in Gale. Nevertheless I hope it is interesting to read.

100% wizard. The thirst for knowledge, the urge to analyse things and the ability to throw random facts at everyone 24/7 are at the core of my personality.

Also I love fireballs.

If you lived in the BG3 universe what class do you think you’d be?

I’m curious. Like what class do you think fits your personality or what you work with in your day-to-day?

For example: I think I’d be a wizard because I love to just be by myself and study subjects that I’ve grown weirdly obsessed with. I’m also unfortunately an insufferable know-it-all on said subjects.

Feel free to reblog (if you’re seeing this twice: I had to make a new one because I forgot one)
