Garden Update #6

Hey, Hey, Hey!! 😊 exciting stuff today

✨Onions✨

Growing flawlessly. I already had to trim the tops off bc they were getting too tall and falling over. I’ll have to do it again pretty soon.

Garden Update #6

✨Radishes✨

Also sprouted up very nicely and are doing well. Some of the stems have turned red so hopefully I’ll get some good sized radishes. The leaves got too heavy so I had to prop them up so they don’t grow sideways and I forgot how spiky radish leaves are.

Garden Update #6

✨Carrots✨

They’ll need to be thinned out here pretty soon. I probably should’ve figured out how to give them there own grow bag so that I could have more, but it’ll be okay. This growing season was kinda one big experiment for me.

Garden Update #6

✨Tomato✨

It’s about half my height. It’s funny bc it won’t look like it’s growing for a couple days and then it sprouts up a bunch and you’re like “woah, it’s so big.” It has some blossoms on it so I’m hoping for big juicy tomatoes.

Garden Update #6

✨Peppers✨

They’re doing alright, I think. I question their stability sometimes, but they’re still growing and saying tall so.. oh well

Garden Update #6

✨Bok Choy✨

That’s right, only 2 Bok Choy atm. The big one is growing very nicely which I’m kinda surprised about bc it was so hot the past couple weeks and they prefer cooler temperatures. I’ll be able to plant more pretty soon, to see how they grow too. I’m actually so happy one is doing well bc I’ve never grown Bok Choy before.

Garden Update #6

✨Basil✨

It’s pretty small still, I’m not gonna lie, it worries me a bit. Something also dug right next to the smaller basil the other day and I think it stunned it a bit, it doesn’t look too well. Hopefully, they’ll start growing up more soon.

Garden Update #6

✨Strawberries and Cilantro✨

Remember my cilantro was doing so well and smelled so good, it all died. Idk what happened. It didn’t want to do it no more. So I planted more but this time directly outside, we’ll see how it does.

My strawberries aren’t growing. Idk what’s wrong with them either, I haven’t gotten a single sprout and I should’ve at this point. I did plant roots and I don’t know if those are harder to get started or what. I’ll give them a bit more time, but if they’re a no show I guess that’s that. I think it’s too late to try from seeds, so I may have to wait till next year to try strawberries again. They were something that I had never grown before either so I’m kinda not surprised something went wrong.

That’s all I have for now. I think I’ll be able to harvest the radishes and Bok Choy soon so that’s very exciting. Hopefully everything keeps growing well.

I’ll be back with more later on. Wait for me.

Came Home After A Few Days Away And Noticed My Parsley Plant Was Basically Gone. Upon Further Investigation,

Came home after a few days away and noticed my parsley plant was basically gone. Upon further investigation, I see that these caterpillars (aka parsley worms) were feasting while I was gone. I guess they can make it up to me if they set up shop so I can watch some metamorphosis happen. Hopefully I’ll have some Eastern Black Swallowtail friends around here soon!

Late Garden Update. My Garden Brought Me A Lot Of Joy This Summer. Working Solely Remote With Work And

Late garden update. My garden brought me a lot of joy this summer. Working solely remote with work and online classes to finish my MBA, my garden is what gave me some responsibility out of the house. Even though it was in the backyard, it was still out of my room nevertheless.

After enjoying endless recipes using the vegetables and herbs, it was time to regenerate. The dirt in all my pots, including the plants were placed in the compost today. The compost and the dirt will create some beautiful soil for next season. There were a few herbs that I wasn’t quite done with yet, so they are hanging out on the porch for now. I love how every part of the plant has its use from seed to compost. Nothing goes to waste!

Garden update! Lots of growing since my last one.

Figs have been popping up on the tree, I now have some citrus that I’ve added to the bunch. The herbs are doing well, and my leafy greens have been doing so well in the box!

Garden Update! My herb baskets have really grown up and are shooting up to bloom for the pollinators to come by. Same goes for my butter crunch lettuce.

I was able to successfully move 3/4 of my Brussels sprouts to individual pots to help them flourish more. And look! I have broccoli and carrots coming in!

The newest addition: squash and zucchini. I’m going to work on building a wire trellis along the fence for them to climb today so they have get big and produce lots of veggies.

A tiny baby painted turtle who was NOT happy about it. (He was placed back in the pond soon thereafter.)

A handful of cherry tomatoes and peppers from my garden!
