Appalachian mornings.

Using the herb garden to do some baking today. Homemade Lemon, Basil, and Rosemary cookies with a lemon and basil glaze.
Today I took on the task of creating my own recipe from scratch using the classic 3:2:1 cookie ratio. Needless to say, this was a success! I’m definitely writing this recipe down.

A few days ago I found this plant nursery that use to be an old cottage, and oh my gosh!!??? The lengths I would go to live like this.

There are some very delicious baked goods in my future… any recommendations?

I was out in the swamp yesterday, and these were very abundant.

Spring in South Carolina❤️

The forest floor.

Nantahala has always been a very distinct color of green in the summer.

Looking down at the storm in the distance.

Pawleys Island under the shade of the beautiful live oaks.
Reposting cause I wanted to add a title. Anyways. Here’s a short cooking video of my dinner tonight!
My heaven on earth.

Fall around the Waccamaw Neck looks a little different, but gosh I love it so much. This has always been my favorite time at home on the coast.

Papa’s shed and a piece of his farm. He taught me everything I know about growing food.

I love growing things. Turned this little concrete patio into a very green space - and an edible one too. Now I just need to help eating all of this. Who wants to come chill on the patio?

Garden update!
So the box has been completely turned over to squash and zucchini, and one tomato sucker I stuck in it. Speaking of tomatoes, about a month ago, I was at my parents house, and my dad had plucked some big suckers off his tomato plants. I grabbed three and drove them to the beach. Those things were completely wilted over and on their last leg, but I didn’t give up hope for them. Long story short, look at them in my Home Depot bucket - flowering and everything.
I also have a makeshift propagation corner going on in my kitchen right now. Using some old beer bottles and what I had on hand. Seems to be working just fine.

Dinner from the garden. Tomatoes, herbs, and squash off the patio, and eggplants and zucchini from my old neighbor’s garden down the road. Mushrooms from the farmer’s stand on the island. All coming together with some pasta and Parmesan cream sauce. It was delicious. Who wants dinner?
