Reacting to You Going Missing
Here’s a little thing I was thinking of all weekend. Figured I would share. Some of these are cc! and others are c! so like. I dunno. Some you can interpret in either I think.
Dream:
- Insists on looking for you every. single. day. - Spends as much time as possible looking. - Loses sleep. Not that he sleeps much anyway, though. - “Listen, none of you seem to understand. I need them here.”
George:
- Also spends a lot of time looking for you, but promises to keep taking care of himself for you. - “If I take care of myself, will you come back home?” - Is very affected, and oftentimes stops something early.
Sapnap:
- Is essentially a wreck without you. - Pushes people away who are trying to support him in such a difficult time. - “I’m not leaving the search until we find them.” - He does cry, but it’s hardly around others.
Badboyhalo:
- It doesn’t matter how long it takes, as long as the police bring you back. - “Can’t you guys keep looking? Please, just keep looking for them. I miss them so much, and I want them home...” - Takes care of any of your pets and keeps your room tidy.
Skeppy:
- He makes all the usual wise cracks and such but it doesn’t feel the same without you. - Sometimes he’ll slip up and just go quiet, thinking about how much he misses you. - “Sorry guys. Give me a moment.”
Techno:
- Would absolutely stay up every night until you came back home. - Spends a lot of time thinking about where you could have gone, but usually can’t bring himself to go look. - Brings his ideas of your whereabouts to the police instead.
Tommy:
- Explosive as heck at literally anyone. - Someone tries to comfort him? An immediate “piss off” from Tommy. - Even gets angry with the police. - “You aren’t trying hard enough! Find Y/N right now!”
Tubbo:
- Draws pictures of you. They may not be the best, but it’s his only way of remembering what you look like. You never did like to take photos of yourself. - Makes your favourite drink sometimes to feel closer to you. - “I understand that the police are doing their job, but... I miss Y/N so much.”
Phil:
- Writes a letter to you every day, so that you have something personal when you get back, and so you don’t miss a thing that happened. - Takes good care of your trinkets and personal objects. - Helps Tubbo with his drawings of you sometimes if Tubbo forgets too much. Phil remembers you quite well.
Ranboo:
- Finds it hard to function with you gone. - Writes what he remembers about you in his book. - Tries to find you, but with him trying to keep calm and not get too emotional, it doesn’t take long for him to need a break.
Awesamdude:
- Panicked is one way to put how he feels. - As soon as he gets the news, he’s already grabbing his jacket and going to join the search party. - “We have to find them. We have to find Y/N. What if they’re hurt?” - Very open to the support from others.
Schlatt:
- At first, he doesn’t believe it. - “Y/N? Missing. Yeah, I don’t think so.” - It takes him a couple of days, and then when he finally believes it, he’s making calls and looking for you as much as he can.
Niki:
- Trying to keep all of your stuff as it was when you were there last. Sometimes she just sits in your room and soaks the atmosphere in. - Prays every night for your safety.
Wilbur:
- Writes songs that he promises himself he’ll sing to you when he finds you. - Spends a lot of time busying himself with work and music so he doesn’t think too much about you. - When he does think about you, he gets very sad and often cries. - “I just want them back home.”
Reacting to You Being Found
Per request, here’s the sequel to them reacting to you being missing! Enjoy!
Dream:
- Is immediately holding onto you so tightly and refusing to let go. - “Dream, I’m okay, you can let go!” “Nope. Never again.” - Is very protective and hardly ever leaves your side so you don’t disappear again.
George:
- The first thing he does is take a nap, but clings to you very tightly. - Makes you food, makes sure you take care of yourself like he took care of himself when you were gone. - Does a lot of thanking whoever or whatever made the universe for bringing you back to him.
Sapnap:
- The first time he’s willingly crying in front of someone and it’s over you being home. - He has never felt such strong relief in his life and immediately squeezes you tightly while just full-on sobbing. - “Y/N, where the fuck did you go?? You scared me!” - Guard dog Sapnap, anyone?
Badboyhalo:
- Also probably crying a little, but happy tears! He makes sure you know it’s happy tears too. - “I knew eventually they would find you! I begged them to keep looking, and... I’m glad it worked.” - Talks about how he took care of your pets. He did take your pets with to see you, so of course you’ve got some welcome back snuggles with him and the animals.
Skeppy:
- “oHH MY GOD YOU’RE BACK” - Also hugging you extremely tight and talking about how much he missed you. - “Skeppy, I can hardly breathe, you’re hugging too tight.” “HOLD YOUR BREATH Or SOMETHING AND LET ME HUG YOU A LITTLE LONGER”
Techno:
- Very chill but internally is so, so happy you’re back. - “You’re alive. I’m glad. I wasn’t of much help in finding you, though. I was too cowardly. Sorry.” - A cup of tea and a book later, and it feels like everything between you two is just as it should be.
Tommy:
- Acts like he’s pissed, but he’s also super happy to see you alive and back home! - “Where the fuck were you? Trying to sneak off or something?” - You heard about how he acted with the police and tried scolding him, but he wouldn’t listen anyway.
Tubbo:
- “Y/N! I missed you so much! Here, Phil helped me with these!” - Once he explained what the drawings of you were for, you were the one absolutely sobbing. - He did so well in remembering you. You were glad the two of you were friends.
Phil:
- Gives you the letters he wrote every day for you. A lot of the contents talked about how he never gave up his search for you and how he missed you dearly. - Once again, you’re in tears. So is he, though. - “Also, I dusted all your little shiny things. I figured you would appreciate that.”
Ranboo:
- Feels like he didn’t do much as far as your search went. - “Y/N, I’m sorry for not looking hard enough for you, I wrote what I could remember about you and I spent a lot of time with Tubbo to remember what you looked like, and-” - You hugged him very hard, and said, “Thank you for being a good friend.”
Awesamdude:
- Asking a tonne of questions, like, “Are you hurt? Where did you go? Was it scary? Were you stolen away?” - Basically, he’s talking circles around you the entire way home, and he’s holding your hand tightly and sort of refusing to let go. He doesn’t want to lose you again!
Schlatt:
- “Gone for how long now? Did you get involved in a gang or some shit?” - You already know how hard he worked to get the police to keep looking, but you give him the benefit of the doubt. - That night, and many nights after though, he’s staying up later than usual to make sure you don’t disappear.
Niki:
- “Y/N? I... I was so scared you wouldn’t come back, I...” - Of course she’s crying. She thought she had lost you. - She sits the two of you down to talk about it over tea, and you cuddle afterwards to wind down after an emotional rollercoaster of a day.
Wilbur:
- “I didn’t think they would find you. Took them long enough,” He jokes, ruffling your hair, putting his jacket on your shoulders and heading home with you. - As promised, he sings the songs he wrote for you while you’re seated on the couch. - “I’m glad you’re home. I missed you so much.”
Reacting to You Asking to Move In
Mwahaha, I had this idea since I’m moving into an apartment with a good friend! Enjoy.
Dream:
- Absolutely, he would immediately just be like, “Sure, let’s get you here as soon as possible.” - Helps you with getting your stuff into the place, and even helps with unboxing. - Forces you to let him sleep on the couch until your bed is set up.
George:
- Hesitant at first, but would he say no to you? Unlikely. - Makes sure you have all of the stuff you absolutely need first. - When carrying stuff in, he has to quietly chant “Don’t drop it, George, do NOT drop it.” Even if the box doesn’t have anything breakable in it.
Sapnap:
- “Why aren’t you moved in already? Sheesh, Y/N.” - Is absolutely bouncing off the walls and is very excited for you to move in. - Probably almost broke something while helping you get stuff into the place because he is just so excited.
BadBoyHalo:
- Thinks it would be a great idea! - Doesn’t rush you to move in, and is very helpful when you finally do! - Celebratory move-in meal of course :)
Schlatt:
- “No.” - You tell him you’ll find someone else to move in with then and that it’s not a big deal. - He changes his mind, you move in soon after, things are just fine. -Sometimes he will make wise cracks about how you forced him to let you move in.
Eret:
- “Bad idea, but sure.” - Not actually a bad idea, Eret is just a little dramatic and that’s okay. - Living with Eret is actually pretty fun albeit chaotic at times. You make jokes about Ted being the better housemate.
Awesamdude:
- “Sure, Y/N.” - Genuinely laid back about it, but he’s honestly pretty grateful that you’re willing to help around the place right away. - Probably spends a lot of time after you move in showing you how to do redstone. Whether you retain the information or not is up to you :)))
Nihachu:
- “!!!!!!” - To say she would absolutely talk in circles about you moving in would be an understatement. - Very excited and very willing to help you get there as quick as possible.
Techno:
- “lmao” - Asks a lot of questions and doubts that you’re serious, but when you make it clear that you’re serious, he figures it’s worth a shot.
Wilbur:
- also a “lmao” but quickly after is followed by a “sure” - Also pretty chill about you moving in and asks if you know any instruments. - Probably shows you for 0.2 seconds in a livestream or something and goes, “Hey, look, Y/N’s my flatmate now. I’m gonna annoy the fuck out of ‘em.”
Shy and Jealous Partner >:)
Request: Ok but like— shy!jealous!s/o that's it. w/ dream, techno, george and karl? Or not...you can just do techno :>
A/N: this feels a bit like a personal attack /lh but I love doing headcanons like this lmao.
Dream:
- As soon as you start acting passive aggressive he has to pull you to one side and have a chat. - “Y/N? Why are you being weird?” - Explaining the situation makes him think for a while, before he finally nods and grabs onto your hand. - “You don’t have to be so jealous, but I get it. Just know you’re the only one for me.”
George:
- He’s just talking with someone and suddenly are just being oddly clingy so he shoots you an offhand “You okay?” - You give a grunt at him and he just holds onto you tightly. - He absolutely would walk away from a conversation just to make sure you feel better.
Techno:
- If anything, he’s usually the jealous one. - But in the case that it’s you whose jealousy is acting up, he would probably just pick you up and bring you home. - “Stop doing that. Stop making that face at me. I know what you’re feeling and I don’t want you to feel that way.” - Would probably mumble affirmations to you to make you feel better.
Karl:
- You act off and he essentially flies into a panic wondering about it. - If you explain it to him, he goes into panic a second time. - “Wait, what? Y/N, I pinky promise that I don’t mean to make you feel like that! Uh- what should I do to make it better?” - Talking many miles per hour with no sign of stopping until you can actually get an answer in on your end.
Reacting to Very Shy S/O
Request: Snfkkdwk I'm a sucker for shy!s/o w/ feral bois (because i, myself am a pretty shy person) please :>>> like they get all blushy and shit with the slightest affection 🥰 just cute to think about :>
A/N: hehehehe I love shy readers it feels very personal sometimes :D. Thank you for the simp fuel. enjoy!
Quackity:
- Literally all he says is a little “i love you” and you’re down for the count. - When he asks why you’re red, it doesn’t take him long to connect the dots. - Quackity thinks he’s the smoothest dude ever suddenly and wraps you in a hug and teases you. - “Y/N, I had no clue you were so affected by my words,” He would say teasingly, laughing.
Karl:
- I think it would be either way. If you said some sort of compliment he might go beet red, and if he gave you a little peck on the cheek you would do the same. - Honestly though, the first time he saw how shy you get he realises how similar you two are! - That doesn’t stop him from making you blush >:)
Dream:
- Maybe he’s streaming when he finds out. He just goes, “Y/N is so cute, too bad you guys can’t see~” - You go INSTANTLY RED and he just chuckles, bringing you into a hug. - “And now they’re blushing. Mission accomplished.”
George:
- He’s just waking up and you happen to be on your phone when he goes “You’re gorgeous, Y/N.” - Yeahhh, you’re hiding your face, shaking your head a little - He just pulls you close to him and nods again. - “You’re always gorgeous. But now it’s time for more beauty sleep.”
Sapnap:
- “Why you gotta be so cute, Y/N? Literally stop that.” - You’re caught so off guard while watching him play Minecraft that your eyes just widen and your faces heats up - “I said stop being cute!” He fake pouts at you, and then leaves little smooches on your face.
Reacting to Your Music
Request: hiii <3 could you possibly do hcs of mcyts of your choosing reacting to your original music? Thank you so much in advance if you can :)
A/N: listen, I write my own music so this was very nice to write. Enjoy!
Dream:
- “You made this? Y/N, this is really good.” - I feel like he would totally be up to make a song with you if you ever felt like it - Would probably listen to it a lot by himself because he is just so proud
George:
- He loves your music, there’s no doubt about it! - He would probably want you to play it for him on stream or something so others can hear and react to it. - “They are so talented, you guys can’t even comprehend it.”
Sapnap:
- Will he learn all the lyrics and belt them out when it’s stuck in his head? Yeah. - “Stream, you guys need to hear these bars that Y/N wrote. Straight fire.” - Supports your music career entirely and is your biggest fan.
BadBoyHalo:
- As long as there aren’t curse words, he entirely enjoys it! Maybe a few curse words are okay.. - “This is super good! I’m proud of you, Y/N.” - Will talk about your music to friends and followers.
Quackity:
- “Do a song with autotune next.” - All jokes aside, he’s also really into it! -He would probably put it on during a stream.
Wilbur:
- He wants to learn how to play it, and will do so. - He’s very supportive of your music and finds it to be fantastic. - Will listen to it quite often because it’s just so frickin good.
Ranboo:
- It is the vibe. He vibes hard to it. - He’s very proud that he’s friends with such talent! - Probably asks a lot of questions about your whole process because he is just fascinated.
Tommy:
- “It better not be rubbish, Y/N.” - Of course it’s not rubbish and he ends up really liking it. - Boasts on Twitter and/or TikTok about having a wickedly talented friend
“Look At This Cool Rock!”
Request: MCYT S/O reacting to being interrupted by you to show them a rock you found!
A/N: listen I have this biiiig collection of nice rocks I find on my walks and such so I just am very soft.
Dream:
- Honestly would take a long time to inspect the rock - You come in with a rock and he dead-stops during stream and just - He probably has a few you found specially for him on his desk - Loves that you find such joy in tiny stones - “Hold on chat, Y/N brought a rock, I need to see it.”
George:
- “Oh! Where did you find this one, Y/N?” - Would also dead-stop because he knows how much you like looking for nice rocks. - “If you want, after the stream, we could go look for some more.”
Sapnap:
- “This looks like rock candy. What if I just eat it, right here and now?” - Likes the tiny warm-coloured ones the most but still finds any of them very cool. - The chat is probably advising him against eating rocks, so he hands it back while chuckling. - “Find a tastier looking one for me, pleeeaaase Y/N?”
Niki:
- She would absolutely make a big deal out of it. - “Guys, stop everything! Y/N has a cool rock!” - Spends a good amount of time just admiring said rock, because you always pick out such interesting ones. - Probably googles the rock so she can see what it is exactly.
Wilbur:
- “What’s this? Oh, wow. That’s very neat.” - Shows off the rock to the stream because it really is neat. - Proceeds to make wise cracks about rocks while strumming. - “All jokes aside, Y/N, your rock is very cool. Thank you for showing me.”
Quackity:
- Eats the rock (/j) - Okay okay, in all seriousness he would probably also show the stream. - Maybe even talk about how shiny or stripey or whatever it is. - “Look at this fucking ROCK you guys.” - Autotune song about rocks anyone?
Maybe Someday - George x Reader
Lol have fun
Genre: angsty little breakup moment
Warnings: I don’t think there are any, if I miss something, let me know!
Characters: cc!George, Y/N
Honestly, it wasn’t even a slight surprise when Y/N felt more distanced from their boyfriend, George, than usual. Between streaming and hanging out with all his friends from the SMP, there really was just no room for Y/N anymore.
Normally, they were fine about waiting for the moment that there was spare time for them, but at this point there really was just none left. Any time that George came into the room, it wasn’t for them, it was because he forgot something. Whenever he would pass by the door and not even glance at Y/N, their heart sank further into a dark pit.
Finally, after maybe a week of Y/N heading to bed alone and George heading to bed way later just to wake up and not even speak to his partner, Y/N decides it’s… probably for the best. They leave their shared room to find George eating breakfast. He gives only a slight nod to acknowledge them.
“Hey, George? Do you have a minute?” They asked quietly, leaning against the kitchen counter. George shook his head, chewing and swallowing in order to give a verbal answer.
“I really don’t, I’m just eating a quick breakfast and then I have to hop back on the computer today.” He chuckles, although Y/N finds it far from funny, and he takes another bite.
“Well this is important. I’ll make it quick though, so you don’t miss a single minute of computer time,” They reply sarcastically. “Anyway, obviously you have no room to be in a relationship right now, and I honestly am tired. I’m tired of waiting for you to have time for me, so I think the best course of action for us right now is to break up.”
George doesn’t even seem upset. He takes another bite of his breakfast and nods. “So what are you gonna do? You can always stay here still if you’d like.”
Y/N shakes their head. “I’ll probably stay in a hotel for a bit, then figure it out from there. As lovely as the offer sounds to stay, it’ll only feel worse, since I still love you… a lot.” They smile, hopefully to cover the fact that their eyes were watering and the instinct to cry was already kicking in.
George nods again. “I would help you pack, but…”
“Yeah. You’re busy. I get it.” They turn on their heel and head to their room, immediately gathering all their things in that room and setting them on the bed. Where they had left their suitcase, they had no clue. The good thing about having not brought much or kept much here was the fact that moving out would be a breeze.
They looked around a bit, until finally they found the suitcase. Good thing that this was keeping them busy, or they would really start sobbing on the spot. They walked back down the hall, frowning when they heard George sniffling from the room. They peek their head into the room to see George, whose eyes were a bit red and puffy.
Y/N rolls their eyes a bit. That could be about anything. No reason to feel sorry now. They walk in and set the suitcase down flat, folding clothes and putting them neatly into the case. George is wiping at his eyes and pretending he wasn’t just crying. He sits down in his chair and spins to face the computer’s screen, also busying himself so he doesn’t cry more.
“Remember the time we went out to that restaurant?” George asked suddenly while Y/N was halfway through their packing. “And we nearly lit the table on fire.”
Y/N had been doing so well up until that point. They had been fine until he had to start bringing shit up. That was the breaking point, and the dam behind their eyes broke loose. “Y-Yeah.” Their voice cracked weakly. “You were just… trying to be a gentleman, and I was awkward…”
Looking back on that moment hurt. It was one of the happiest moments of their life, yet… it hurt so badly now. Things could never be the same.
“You don’t have to go, Y/N. We don’t have to break up. I could work things out. I could spend time with you again.” He spun to look up at Y/N from his chair, his eyes a silent plea.
Y/N shook their head, wiping at their tear-stained cheeks. “No, I think for now we need some space to figure out how to actually make things work. You’re a very busy streamer, George. You’re in high demand from friends and fans, it’s hard to say no.” They zip up the suitcase and give a despairingly sad smile. “But, once we do figure this out, if we still love each other… then we can try again. Okay?”
George nods, brows furrowing together.
Y/N leans forward, pressing a long lasting kiss to George’s forehead. “You’ll still have my number, okay? I’ll be there for you whenever you need me. But… for now, I just need to put some distance between us.” They smile again, waving as they leave the room. They head out to the lot to get their car, not once looking to see if George was watching them leave.
That Day - George x Reader
Second part, let’s go.
Genre: well, a teensy it angsty, but I prommy it’s better than last time KDHKDJH its just them talking abt what happened
Warnings: none, I think. If I miss any, don’t be shy and let me know!
Characters: Georgenotfound, Y/N
“Hey.”
“Hi.”
It’d been... well, a while since Y/N and George had seen each other. Too long. Y/N had been staying with their family for a while after their breakup with George, and George had slowly devolved to leaving the house a mess while thinking about how he could rearrange his schedule and find a way to win his ex back over. Y/N had been doing fine albeit being upset, while George had felt a bit pathetic about his lack of efforts.
“Coffee?” Y/N offered, motioning for him to sit down and get a coffee with them. The shop was pretty quiet, and it was mostly due to the fact that it was fairly early in the morning.
George nodded quietly, sitting across from them. He tapped his fingers on the table, looking for the right thing to say.
“George?”
He looked up, confused and startled. Y/N laughed, and he melted. He laughed as well. Looks like he’d spaced out and hadn’t heard a thing Y/N had said. He felt silly, his face reddened slightly as a result.
“Sorry, I guess I didn’t hear you. Repeat that for me?” He smiled, shaking his head at himself.
“I asked if you wanted a menu. They’ve always got something good for specials if you wanted to get lunch too. I’m personally getting the sandwich special and some sort of coffee. I’ve picked up a bit of a caffeine addiction,” Y/N said.
“Sure. I’ll take a menu.” His ex-partner hands over their menu, and he quickly scans it. He would just get what they were getting, since he’d never been to this specific place before today. Which reminded him, where was Wilbur? He’d been the one that invited him to this place, yet he was nowhere to be... ohhhhh. That makes sense.
The waitress comes over, takes their orders, and scurries off.
“So how have you been, George? I hope you’ve been well. I heard from a friend that you kinda... hit a slump when I left. I’m sorry if it was because of...” They trail off, grimacing slightly. That had been a pretty low point for both of them.
“Ah, yeah. After you left, I kinda realised I had been spending a lot of time online. I had to find some sort of balance between the real world and my online time.” He rests his arms on the edge of the table and shrugs. “But yeah, I did find myself in a slump. It sucked.”
Y/N nodded, looking back on that day. It was so sudden. “Yeah. I was at a low for a while. My family was as kind as they could be when I suddenly intruded back on their lives.” They smiled.
Although neither wanted to talk about it, it was probably best to get it out of the way. Had they not talked about that day, they’d likely feel guilty the rest of the time.
Their food and coffee was brought swiftly to their table.
“Hey,” George mumbled through a bite of sandwich, “after this, do you want to go hang out somewhere? A park, a walk around town, whatever feels right? I think we’ve got a lot more catching up to do.”
“Sure, George. I think that would be nice.”
Reacting to You Falling
Request: I’m relatively clumsy so I was wondering if you could do hcs for mcyts of your choosing reacting to you falling? I imagine Tommy would laugh at me lol.
A/N: he would laugh at you. He does laugh at you in the hcs.
Dream:
- “Why are you so bad at walking? Get good.” - Despite his teasing, he still helps you back up. - The man isn’t the greatest at first aid, but he knows enough to know you might need a band-aid.
Tommy:
- IMMEDIATELY starts laughing hysterically - “You clumsy fuck! Even I’m better at walking than you!” - He probably helps you up, but after that, he’s still laughing too much to help you with your likely scraped knee.
George:
- “Did you just fall? Seriously?” - He’s smart. He knows (kind of) what to do, so you’re bandaged and iced before you know it. - “Wanna play Minecraft til you feel better?”
Sapnap:
- “Y/N? You okay?” - He falls a lot when he skateboards, so he’s basically a pro at first-aid. - You two go to get food afterward to make you feel better. Your pick of where to go.
BadBoyHalo:
- Immediately fussing over you, because your knee must hurt. - He’s got fun band-aids, so now you get a BRIGHT neon green one. - “Take it easy, Y/N! You’re injured.” - No matter how much you try to protest that you’re not so injured as to not continue what you were doing, he won’t take no as an answer.
Wilbur:
- Also laughing, but his laugh is too contagious for you to not laugh along. - Afterward, he’s helping you take care of your knee, explaining that you’re not supposed to fall when you walk. - “You’re silly, Y/N. So silly.”
Niki:
- Makes a bit of a deal out of it, because you’re hurt now! - “Hey, are you okay? Let’s get you cleaned up.” - You two get to go out for ice cream afterward, luckily, since ice cream makes everything better.
a bad day [georgenotfound]
pairing: georgenotfound x gn!reader
pronouns: they/them
synopsis: you've had a really bad day, and only your boyfriend can fix it.
wc: 1.2k
anon asked: “George x female reader, reader has a sore back and gets a massage from George.”
a/n: i am the ceo of getting carried away and this kinda didn't follow the prompt too well. sorry nonnie, hope u don't mind!
tw: implied nudity, bathing together. not sexual! also bad writing? i dont rly like this one but i hope someone will!
you know those days? the days where every little possible detail seemingly goes wrong. it starts simple, with the optimism it can only get better from here, but thing after thing proves you wrong, until the day has weighed down on you completely.
you were having one of those days, to put it lightly. your alarm didn’t go off when it should, a written draft of yours at work didn’t save, the coffee you picked up was made completely wrong, the microwave broke and you were forced to eat your lunch cold, just to name a few things that set you off today. to top it all off, a downpour had washed over london and you were forced to walk home, shivering and soaked to the bone.
when you finally stepped foot in your apartment, you sluggishly dropped everything at the door, kicking the pile of dripping items to the side and kicking off your shoes. usually after work, you neatly put everything away, before stopping by george’s office to kiss his cheek and ask him about his day, spending a few minutes together before leaving to make dinner. today however, you just couldn’t bring yourself to do it.
dragging your feet, you stumbled straight to your shared bedroom, closing the door with a harsh slam. you quickly stripped out of your work attire, lazily grabbing one of george’s hoodies and flopping down on the mattress. tears pricked at the edges of your vision, overwhelmed with the events of the day.
george was sitting in his office, headphones on, editing a main channel video. he’d already been teased enough by his friends for putting it off for so long, and wanted nothing more to finish and upload it so they would get off his back about it. it was going well, and he told himself he’d take a break once you got home, your daily routine was special to him: with his insane work and sleep schedules, he hardly saw you as much as he wanted.
so when he checked the time to see you should’ve been home almost half an hour ago, a frown crossed his expression and he quickly saved his progress, leaving his office in search of his lover. “love? are you home?” george called, wandering the halls. he came to a stop in front of your closed bedroom door, gently knocking and opening the door slowly, as to not startle you.
the sight in front of him broke his heart.
you had collapsed messily on the bed,and your body was shaking as silent cries left your lips. george quickly made his way over to you, kneeling next to you on the floor. “hey, hey. what’s wrong?” he muttered, gently carding a hand through your damp hair. you didn’t answer, just gazing at him with tired, red puffy eyes. he frowned, placing a feather light kiss to your forehead. george wasn’t the best at comforting anyone, but he’d be damned if he didn’t try to make his partner feel better.
george stood, earning a small whine of disapproval from you. he smiled slightly, grabbing one of your hands and running his thumb over your knuckles. “i’ll be right back. gonna run you a bath, alright?” he offered, and you nodded, letting go of his hand and allowing him to leave.
he was swift in preparing your bath, running the water warm and adding your favourite salts and all. he made his way back to you, beckoning you to sit up. you did so hesitantly, and he opened his arms, allowing you to fall not-so- graciously against his chest and bury yourself there. he chuckled at this, rubbing soothing circles into your back. he let you rest for a moment, before standing slowly, bringing you up with him. with an arm slung around your shoulder, he guided you to the bathroom.
george stood facing you, smiling softly. “lift your arms for me?” he mumbled, and you did so, allowing him to pull the hoodie off of your skin. you shrugged off your undergarments, allowing george to help you slide into the tub. you sighed in relief as your skin hit the water, relaxing as best you could. george moved to give you some privacy, but you grabbed his hand, stopping him.
“join me?” you asked, tiredly. he hesitated, but sighed and began shedding his clothes in a pile along with yours. you slid forward, allowing him to slide in behind you, and you leaned your head back on his shoulder, content.
you sat there in peace for a few minutes, before george placed his hands on your shoulders and guided you to sit up, thumbs gently pressing into your shoulder blades as he searched for the tense knots in your back, putting pressure and drawing small circles over them as he helped relieved the tension in your muscles from a long day.
you sighed in bliss, allowing george to continue as you finally felt completely relaxed. every few moments, he would pause his actions and instead place a small kiss on your shoulder blade, the two of you simply basking in each other's presence.
though he constantly apologized for “not knowing what to say” when you were upset, he never failed to amaze you. his actions spoke volumes, and he didn’t need to say a word. just being near him made your day a thousand times better.
“i love you, george.” you mumbled, barely audible. had you not been so close to each other, george wouldn’t have heard you at all. he smiled though, placing one more kiss on the back of your neck, this one lingering a bit longer. he pulled away, reaching for the shampoo, and holding it in front of him so you could see it.
“may i?” he asked politely, you nodded and the next half an hour was spent with george massaging your scalp and rinsing the suds from your hair, as you washed your body. much to your dismay, the water was running cold, and george stepped out of the tub, grabbing a towel and wrapping it around his waist. he grabbed another, holding it open for you to step into. you sighed as you stood, hissing at the cold and gladly allowing him to wrap the fabric around you.
he guided you back to your shared bedroom, picking out one of your favourite hoodies (it was his, obviously) and sliding it over your frame, pulling the hood off of your head and leaning down to leave a sweet kiss on your lips. he threw on some sweats of his own, sending you a small smirk. “i’ll get the snacks, you pick the movie?” he offered, and you paused,
“wait.” you frowned. “i have to make dinner.” you pouted, and george waved you off dismissively.
“we’ll just order something. don’t worry about it, love.” he assured, slipping out to the kitchen to grab some things to munch on. you sighed, a loopy smile on your face as you pulled out your laptop, picking out a random movie from your recommendations.
he returned shortly after, climbing on the bed and opening his arms for you to position yourself comfortably next to him. his hand ran up and down your arm gently as the movie began to play, and before long, your eyelids began to feel heavy. you tried to fight it, but within minutes you were fast asleep, the lulling background sound of the movie and george's featherlight touches sending you into a peaceful slumber.
everyone had bad days, but at least you had an amazing boyfriend who would always be there to cheer you up. you couldn’t ask for anything better.

tw: swearing, school
“y/n, i’d like to speak with you after class.” the words no student ever wants to hear. you forced a smile, nodding to your teacher who looked mildly disappointed in your abilities, or in your case, lack thereof.
if only you hadn’t been late to school on the day you were meant to sign up for courses, maybe you would’ve gotten into the courses you’d actually be good at. unfortunately for you, the odds were not in your favour, and you’d ended up in the last class you wanted to take. computer science.
it wasn’t to say the class wasn’t interesting, no, it was. it just wasn’t your forte. coding and scripting, all of the combinations you should know seemed to jumble together, and you couldn’t write a basic program. easy to say, you were failing. hence why you were hanging back by the teacher’s desk as your peers filed out of the room.
“y/n, i’m sure you’re aware as to why you’re here.” your teacher spoke, and you sighed, nodding. he pinched his noise in slight frustration, pausing for a moment before returning his gaze to you. “i know you’re a good student. excelling in every course, except this one. mind filling me in on why?”
you shuffled under his pressing gaze, swallowing hard. “i try, i really do. it just.. doesn’t make sense to me. at all.” you admitted, rubbing your arm in an attempt to calm yourself from the stress-inducing situation.
“have you considered switching courses?” he asked, kindly. he wasn’t one of those dreadful i-hate-kids-why-did-i-become-a-teacher sort of instructor, moreso the kind that would checkup on students, freely give extensions, and genuinely enjoys his job.
“all other classes during this period are full.” you explained, and he sighed, eyes glancing to his monitor screen, where an open copy of one of your previous assignments laid.
“i’m going to be honest with you, y/n. if you keep submitting work like this, i’m going to have no choice but to fail you. you didn’t even attempt half the questions. i know you’re struggling, but i want to help you get through this course, without ruining your gpa too much.” he spoke softly, and you inhaled shakily, the realization of failure dawning on you. your teacher noticed, standing up and placing a comforting hand on your shoulder.
“i’ve made up an easier version of this assignment. if you can get through it, i’ll replace the grade of your first assignment with this one, and it’ll raise your grade significantly.” he handed you a paper with instructions, and you gulped as you skimmed through, knowing you likely wouldn’t be able to do any of this. “i can’t help you with it, but i also can’t stop you from getting other help, should you need it.” he winked, and dismissed you. you thanked him, gathering your things and leaving, heading straight for the library.
you huffed, sitting down at one of the many school computers and logged in, bringing up the necessary programs. you ended up typing in random sequences you remembered from class, and sighed when you reread your work, completely unsure of whether what you were doing was even close to right. you groaned quietly, placing your head in your hands.
“uh, excuse me?” a voice called from behind you, and you turned, quirking a brow in question. “is this computer taken? all the other ones are full.” he rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. you glanced around, seeing the other computers were, in fact, taken.
“it’s not taken, you can sit.” you smiled, grabbing the pile of your things you’d placed in front of said computer and placing them on the ground by your feet. he thanked you, sitting down and logging into his own account.
the two of you didn’t talk after that, simply tuning into your respective screens. you continued fumbling with various codes, eventually getting frustrated. clearly you weren’t hiding it well, because the boy next to you looked at you strangely, before deciding to mind his business and leave you be.
once you decided enough was enough, you leaned back into the hard plastic chair, stretching your arms. your eyes glanced over to the screen of the boy next to you, and you gasped, eyes wide. you caught his attention, him turning to see what caused your sudden surprise. he didn’t expect you to be looking at his screen.
you leaned forward, swiftly turning his monitor to face you, eyes dancing over the hundreds of words in the language of code on his screen. “holy shit, this is insane!” you whispered, and he flushed, embarrassed by your sudden compliment.
“uh, thanks?” he muttered, running a hand through his messy brown hair. you blinked, suddenly hyper-aware of how strange you must sound at that moment, and retracted back into your seat, clearing your throat.
“i, uh.” you stuttered, and then sighed, offering him an awkward smile. “sorry, uh. it’s just i’m taking computer science, well, failing computer science, actually.” you frowned, gesturing to your screen, before continuing. “but anyways, nothing we do is like this! you must be really advanced.”
he gave you a look you didn't quite recognize, but you blinked and his expression was understanding, so you brushed it off. “i’m not that good..” he shrugged, and you gaped at him, unbelieving.
“seriously? that looks sick! not that i know what any of it means, or does, but..” you chuckled, and he smiled kindly at you.
“well, i guess i know a thing or two.” he explained modestly, and your eyes lit up, hope flooding your body.
“i know we just met, and we don’t really know eachother, but could you help me with my assignment? i really need to get a good grade on it, or i’ll fail the course and ruin my gpa. you’d be doing me a huge favour?” you asked, practically begging. he smiled, nodding. you quickly turned your monitor towards him, and showed him the assignment.
he skimmed through the page, glancing up at your screen and back down, before nodding to himself. “seems easy enough. you just start by…”
not only did he manage to help you through your assignment, but you actually learned a thing or two from him. you quickly saved and emailed the file to your professor, slumping back in your seat in pure relief. the boy next to you chuckled, and it was then that you realized, you didn’t even know his name.
“thank you so much, uh..” you hesitated, subtly hinting for him to bring up his name. he chuckled, shaking his head lightly.
“so it takes doing a whole assignment together for you to ask for someone’s name. interesting.” he teased, and you mockingly gasped, throwing a hand over your heart dramatically. “it’s george, by the way.” he added, winking as he saved his work and logged off his monitor.
“y/n.” you said, and he nodded, gathering his things. “seriously though, george. you saved my ass. i owe you.” you smiled, genuinely, and he returned it.
“don’t mention it.” he scratched the back of his neck once more, before bidding you goodbye. you smiled as you watched his retreating figure, shaking your head with a smile and logging off the monitor, heading home for the day.
the next day flew by, and finally your last period rolled around, and for the first time, you walked into the computer science room with a smile on your face. you walked over to the teacher’s desk, waiting for him to finish with another student. you glanced around the room as you waited, your eyes falling upon a familiar head of fluffy brown hair. “george?” you whispered to yourself, but your teacher calling your name brought you out of your thoughts, and you tuned into the conversation.
“y/n, this is excellent work! i’m happy to say this will boost your mask well into passing.” he whispered excitedly, and you smiled proudly.
“i can’t take all the credit sir, i had someone very talented help me with it.” you admitted, slightly raising your voice so that a certain someone would hear it. he did, it seemed, from the way you noticed he straightened in his seat out of the corner of your eye. you chatted for a bit longer, before you were dismissed so he could help another student.
rather than sitting in your usual corner by yourself, you sauntered over to where your saviour sat, tapping him gently on the shoulder, catching his attention. “uh, excuse me. is this computer taken?” you mocked his previous introduction, and he swiveled around, sending you a glare.
“yes, actually. it is.” he fired back sassily, and you deflated a little, glancing somewhere else. however, when your gaze moved back to the boy in front of you, you spotted the devious smirk that littered his lips.
“you’re an ass.” you muttered, pulling out the chair and seating yourself next to him.
“you’re the one who asked me to sit.” he argued, shrugging and turning his attention to the monitor in front of him. you didn’t speak again, mimicking his actions with a growing smile. you were tackling a much easier assignment than george, but for the first time ever, you understood what was being asked, and if you didn’t, luckily you had a very smart peer sitting right by your side.
suddenly, you felt like maybe taking computer science wouldn’t be so bad after all.
[bonus]
dream came barreling down the hallway, huffing as he stepped foot into the classroom, offering a sheepish grin to his teacher, who simply shook his head at his tardiness. dream stepped towards his usual spot, but paused upon seeing his regular seat was occupied.
maybe he would’ve said something had he not watched george whisper in their ear and send them into a fit of giggles, but he decided today, he could simply sit somewhere else.
and tease the shit out of george later.
crushing [georgenotfound]

anon asked: can I request a George x fem reader where they are crushing on each other but does not know the other likes them back? Maybe George gets teased about it (in a friendly way) by dream, Quackity and Karl. Then he actually goes to dream for advice and they have a serious friendship-talk moment. Meanwhile Karl asks the reader about her crush and they talk. It would be lovely if they later confesses!
a/n: wasn't gonna post this because of that stream but i think we all need some george redemption. also i made this gn! instead of a f! reader, i hope that's okay <3
tw: angst 2 fluff, slight peer pressure
“goodnight chat! i’ll probably stream tomorrow, maybe we’ll hang out on the smp or maybe some mcc practice? who knows! anyways, we’re going to raid sapnap now so make sure you say hi to him for me!” you waved to the camera, replying to a few more donations before hitting the raid button and ending your stream.
though you were living and working your dream job, you couldn’t help but find the constant demand for content completely and utterly exhausting at times. it had become a second nature to be in front of a camera, but sometimes all you wanted to do was call with your friends without the prying ears of over a hundred thousand viewers. it seemed like at least one of you was always streaming, however, and it proved to be quite draining.
“i think i'm gonna go shower and probably call it a night, guys. that stream really took it out of me.” you told your friends, and they all mumbled in acknowledgement, wishing you a good night. through the goodbyes, a certain someone spoke up and caused your heart to flutter.
“call me when you wake up tomorrow, so we can plan our next lore stream.” george called, and you smiled subconsciously.
“course i will, gogy! g’night guys!” you replied cheerily, before the distinctive sound of someone leaving discord echoed through the call.
quackity, dream and karl burst into immediate laughter, and george flushed.
“so we can plan our next lore stream?” dream questioned with a wheeze.
“course i will, gogy!” quackity mocked, his tone high-pitched and all.
“shut up.” george mumbled, rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly.
it wasn’t uncommon for the boys to poke fun at your interactions with george, or as they liked to call it, your ‘flirting’. it was the same thing every time, george assuring them you were just friends and that you acted that way with everyone, and them arguing that you had always had a soft spot for him in particular.
oh how he wished it was true, that you had feelings for him. the truth was, george was enamoured by you the minute he met you. however, as most crushes went, he didn't believe in the possibility you could see him as anything more than a close friend, and so he kept it to himself. no need to make things awkward between you and him, especially since you shared the same close group friends that too would be affected. all in all, things were better this way.
at least, that’s what he told himself.
“george, you can’t seriously tell me you’re so blind that you can’t see how much they like you.” karl tried, and like the thousands of times they’d asked the same question before, george only sighed.
“they don’t. you guys are so annoying.” he mumbled, and quackity began to speak once more, but just at that moment, sapnap undefeaned on discord with a small “i’m live!” warning, and the boys launched into interacting with the stream.
a few long hours later, sapnap bid his stream goodbye, and then he dismissed himself to go to sleep. quackity left shortly after, mumbling about working on his next lore stream. karl hung out for awhile longer, before excusing himself as well to go get some food and a monster to prepare for a late night alt stream.
thus, only george and dream remained in the call, laughing at some stupid joke from the stream, when a comfortable silence fell over the two. they sat quietly for a short while, before george sighed.
“hey, dream?” he called, fidgeting with his hands slightly. dream hummed in acknowledgement, and george swallowed nervously. “why do you guys keep pushing me to talk to y/n? i know you guys keep bringing up the supposed ‘flirting’, but i’m pretty sure it’s all just for the bit.”
dream was quiet, seemingly pondering his response. “it’s not a bit.” he stated, simply. george frowned slightly, tilting his head, despite his camera being off.
“how do you know?” george fired back, and dream chuckled quietly.
“george, i’ve known you and y/n forever, hell, i probably know you both better than i know myself. i’ve seen the way they light up when you join a vc, and spent countless nights having them ask about you if you’re not around. they don’t do that for just anyone.” he explained fondly, and george fell silent.
“what if i say something and it goes completely wrong? what if it makes things weird? i’ll ruin everything - not only for us, but for the whole group. sapnap, karl, quackity. we share all of the same friends. i don’t want to jeopardize that for some silly little unrequited crush.” before he knew it, george had spilled all of his insecurities.
though dream was his best friend, and he trusted him with his life, george was never one to open up to many. it was never a trust thing, and it wasn’t a personal thing. it was a preference of sorts, to keep to himself. however, george’s feelings for you weren’t fading away, and day after day of being told to act on those feelings had him completely overwhelmed.
it was almost therapeutic, finally allowing his feelings out, even if he was only sharing them with one person.
“george, you know y/n. i don’t think you could mess things up with them even if you tried.” dream muttered, amused. george smiled fondly at this, his mind drifting back to the idea of you.
“you really think i should tell them?” george asked, his voice falling to a much softer tone.
“i think you should do whatever you think is best.” dream assured, confidently. he paused, sighing. “but i can’t stop karl and quackity from teasing you endlessly about it.” dream chuckled, and george joined in, content.
“thanks, dream. i’m gonna head off and think about it, goodnight.” he bid his friend goodbye, and hung up. leaning back in his gaming chair, he ran a hand through his hair, huffing.
you rolled around the bed, desperately attempting to get comfortable to no avail. your thoughts were running free, one particular topic in mind. after twenty minutes of failing to fall asleep, you gave up, reaching for your phone. you squinted, quickly turning down the brightness and hitting the imessage app.
you typed a quick ‘you free?’ text to your best friend, receiving an answer almost instantly. sighing in relief, you quickly hit the facetime button, waiting for a single ring before his face illuminated the screen with a bright smile.
“hey, y/n! what’s up?” karl asked, and you smiled, shrugging.
“couldn’t sleep.” you mumbled, tiredly. karl frowned slightly, glancing around your dark room.
“everything okay?” he asked, and you smiled reassuringly, nodding your head. he visibly relaxed, his bright smile returning once more.
“just wanted to talk to you.” you whispered, and he nodded, sensing something was on your mind. you sighed, biting your lip nervously as you looked away, unable to look him in the eyes. “i can’t stop thinking about him.” you admitted quietly, and karl lit up, cheering loudly.
“you guys are seriously the cutest couple.” karl awwed, and you rolled your eyes, adjusting yourself more comfortable to stare at the small device in your hand.
“we’re not a couple, karl. he doesn’t see me that way.” you mumbled, sadly. karl’s expression changed into one of sympathy, and something you didn’t register.
“c’mon y/n, he does. he’s just george, you know he’s not great with expressing himself.” he told you, softly. you frowned, shaking your head slowly.
“he hasn’t expressed anything, at all. not even a slight indication he has feelings for me.” you deadpanned, and karl sighed, smiling kindly.
“if only you could hear the way he talks about you, y/n. you know i wouldn’t tell you he feels that way about you if i wasn’t sure.” he told you, genuinely. you shrugged, but you knew he had a point. karl had a habit of telling it like it is, not wanting to get your hopes up only for things to go poorly.
you took a deep breath, nodding to yourself. “thanks, karl. i’m gonna sleep on it, but i’m glad we had this talk.” you two exchanged goodbyes, before you hung up and flopped back on your pillow.
the next morning, you groaned as you woke, reaching for your phone immediately. you had a discord message from george, which shot you awake in a matter of seconds. you smiled brightly upon opening the notification, but frowned when you saw the message.
‘we need to talk, call me when you get a chance.’
your heart began to race, nerves flooding your body as you shakily made your way to your desk setup, turning on your monitor and pulling up discord. you sent him a quick ‘ready when you are!’ message, and shortly after the familiar ringing came through your headphones.
“hey.” he greeted, his voice monotone. it really didn’t help the sinking feeling in your chest.
“hey.” you replied, quietly. george sighed, loud enough that his mic picked it up. you took a deep breath, trying to calm yourself down. “is everything alright, george? you really freaked me out, waking up to that ominous message.” you chuckled nervously.
“sorry, i didn’t mean to scare you. it’s nothing bad, at least, i hope not.” his voice grew quieter at the end, and you visibly relaxed, glad he was alright.
“well, what is it then?” you asked, curiously. you heard some shuffling around, before george’s camera was turned on. your breath hitched a little at his slightly unshaven face, his hair messy and unkempt. you couldn’t believe how cute he looked at this moment.
“i.. i need to tell you something. i’ve been meaning to for awhile, but i’m not..” he paused, taking a deep breath. you awaited with baited breath, having an idea of where this was going. “i’m not good with my feelings, but-” he stumbled over his words, and let out a frustrated sigh.
you smiled fondly. “you’re so cute.” you mumbled, and george tensed.
“what?” he squeaked, completely thrown off guard by your compliment. you laughed then, and he chuckled nervously alongside you.
“i said,” you emphasized, teasingly. “you’re so cute.” you turned on your camera finally as well, allowing the beautiful boy in front of you to see your bright smile. “i have feelings for you too, dumbass.” you added, upon seeing his awestruck expression.
he shook himself from his thoughts, a smile creeping up on his lips at your admittance. “that’s such a relief. i don’t know what i would’ve done if you’d rejected me.” he breathed, and you laughed once more.
“you really thought i was going to reject you? you really are blind, then.” you scoffed, and george pouted.
“i don’t know!” he defended, “maybe!”
you rolled your eyes playfully. “the only reason i might’ve rejected you is because now i have to tell karl he was right and hear him go on about it for the next few months.” you whined, and george giggled, agreeing.
“you know they’ll never stop teasing us about this, right?” he asked after a moment, and you thought about it for a minute, before nodding.
“i mean, it’s not like they haven’t been teasing us about it anyways.” you shrugged, and george laughed. “i’m gonna go get ready for the day, i’ll call you later so we can actually plan that lore stream we talked about?” you asked, and george rubbed the back of his neck, sheepishly.
“yeah, about that.. i didn’t actually have a lore stream to plan. i just wanted an excuse to talk to you.” he mumbled, embarrassed. you giggled.
“you’re so cute.” you replied, and you watched as he opened his mouth to argue, but you cut him off once more. “talk to ya later, gogy!” and with that, you hung up.
the two of you sat there for a moment after the call ended, smiling brightly. picking up your phone, you texted karl, mentioning you had ‘big news’, george sending something similar to sapnap and dream.
oh, how you two couldn’t wait to see the looks on their faces.

34. Kisses that start on their fingers and run up their arm, eventually ending on their lips.
George would call himself a casual gamer. He mainly plays minecraft or whatever his friends invite him to play on stream. Most of his time off stream is spent coding or recording for Dream so he wouldn’t call himself a “professional”
Now you on the other hand, you were a certified gamer or rather a trophy winning gamer. You had been on a professional esports team for almost as long as you had known George and only recently made it your full time job after you carried your team to back to back championship wins in Valorant.
You practiced almost everyday and your company even paid for a brand new setup for you since you and George had been sharing for the past year. You would spend most of your time in your office playing random matches to build your skills as well as your weapons arsenal. You only came out for two meals and random bathroom breaks.
Today was different though, you hand sprained your wrist while out filming a video for your team's YouTube channel and so your doctor had said to rest it for 3 days. You had nearly started crying but George couldn’t be more excited. Three whole days he gets to spend with you without you going off to your office to practice.
It was day 2 of your resting when George noticed your mood was down. He tried to lift your spirits by watching your favorite movies with you and ordering from your favorite pizza place but even that couldn’t tear your eyes away from your hands.
“George,” You suddenly said as the two of you were getting ready for bed. “What if I can never play again. The doctor said this could be long term and I just, I don’t know who I am without my team.”
George sits next to you on the bed and grabs your hands gently. “Your hands will be fine love. I just know it.” Your eyes meet his and his heart shatters seeing the tears flooding your eyesight. “Even without gaming love, you are incredible.”
“Really,” You scoff softly. “George without gaming we wouldn’t have even met. I would still be working at a fucking H&M in some mall and living paycheck to paycheck.”
“Yes we met through gaming but your gaming skills are certainly not why I fell in love with you.” He raises your hands to his lips as he begins to list off every reason he loves you punctuating each with a gentle kiss to your fingers. “I fell in love with your smile.” Kiss. “Laugh.” Kiss. “Caring nature, humor, kindness.” Slowly his kisses made their way up your arm and to your neck. “But most of all I fell in love with how you care for me.”
He pulls away for a moment to look into your eyes. “You are everything to me and I am so incredibly lucky to have you in my life. So what if you can’t play valorant anymore, that gives us more time to plan our future together, look for an actual house and not my dingy flat, make time for trips and finally meeting Dream. Gaming isn’t all you are love, you are so, so much more.”
You smile at him through the tears that had long been falling. “I love you so much George.” You cups his cheeks and pull him into a gentle kiss. George’s hands make their way around your waist and pull you down onto the bed with him breaking the kiss.
“You need to get some real sleep love,” You nod and lay your head against his chest and drift off to sleep, finally letting weeks of exhaustion hit you and take over your body. George smiles and kisses your forehead. “I can’t wait for our future.”
He looks longingly at his bedside drawer where a ring just your size resides.
beauty [georgenotfound]

a/n: six months of hiatus later, this is an idea i've wanted to do for awhile. truthfully feeling a bit rusty in the writing department so apologies if it's not my best :)

beauxbatons academy of magic; the epitome of beauty, grace, and elegance. they prided themselves on reflecting nothing less than such.
many disregarded the magical abilities of a witch or wizard graduating from the school, claiming their focus lay elsewhere. they believed etiquette classes and dancing lessons were an absolute waste and that your time spent away at the academy could be better spent delving into the more magic-based classes.
you disagreed. from the moment you’d arrived, there was a certain beauty to the school those wizards would never experience. the balance of poise and punctuation you were taught was a phenomenal tool many lacked, and would forever lack. you never questioned your school’s curriculum, not even once. beauxbatons would forever be your home away from home.
the sun had barely peaked over the high points of the campus castle when you’d begun your venture to the dining hall in the early hours of the morning. you bid good morning to those you passed, a smile dawning on your features. you sat in your regular seat, greeting your tablemates before the hall fell silent and your attention was brought to the headmistress.
madame maxime’s heels clicked against the pristine white tiles of the dining hall as she made her way to the podium, smiling coyly at her students. “good morning, students!” she greeted, her smile growing as the sea of faces before her reciprocated the greeting.
“today is a historical moment for our school. this year, beauxbatons academy of magic has been selected as one of the three schools to compete in the triwizard tournament, a dangerous series of tasks in which one student will prosper and be deemed the triwizard champion! this is an excellent opportunity for our school, and a group of you will be selected to travel to hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry alongside myself to represent our school.” she announced, earning a collective gasp from the student body.
as someone who spent a large portion of their free-time in the grand library your school had to offer, you’d read all about the notoriously deadly triwizard tournament. a cold chill ran down your spine as you recalled the treacherous events of the past tournaments.
despite the anxiety coursing through your veins, you couldn’t help your curiosity. though you’d never want to participate in the event itself, you had to admit, it was an opportunity of a lifetime. the tournament hadn’t run in over two centuries due to its sheer danger, and it wasn’t likely that you’d have this opportunity again. besides, visiting another school was practically unheard of, and you wanted to experience that yourself.
“anyone interested in participating in the triwizard tournament should come to me in the coming days, as we will be busy in our preparation for the journey to scotland, i expect only those who wish to represent our school well will come forward.” she announced, and you frowned slightly as the students began their applause. you joined in half-heartedly, sighing to yourself. you could only dream of being in attendance.
for the remainder of the evening following the announcement of the triwizard tournament, there wasn’t a nook or cranny you could find to escape the excited whispers about the competition. if you’d thought your school was notorious for gossip before, you were certainly mistaken. everyone seemed to argue about who would be the better champion had it been an inter-school event, though no one seemed all that phased by the impending death risk looming over their heads.
the next few days passed the same as usual, you travelled to your lessons, scribbling notes and working diligently, and spending your evenings studying in the library. nothing out of the ordinary, besides the incessant chatter about hogwarts and what the tournament had in store. it wasn’t that you disliked the topic, more that it made you bitter knowing you weren’t going to witness it at all.
after a long week, you were ready to curl up in bed with a book and relax. however, just as you were leaving your last class, your professor called you over as your classmates filed out of the room. nervously, you made your way over, smiling hopefully. “yes, professor?” you asked, quietly.
“the headmistress has requested to see you, y/n. you’d best head there now.” she waved you off, and you felt the colour drain from your face as you nodded wordlessly, thanking her under your breath as you quickly made your way to her office. you wracked your brain for any reason you may have been summoned, but ultimately came up with nothing. you didn’t have to think too long, as before you knew it, you were stood in front of the large, white doors.
you raised a shaky fist, knocking once, twice. you heard shuffling around, before the door in front of you opened, glancing over to see madame maxime with her wand out, flicking it gently to close the door behind you. “ah, y/n! thank you for coming! please, have a seat.” she gestured in front of her desk, and you smiled nervously as you dropped into a small curtsy before doing so, ensuring your posture was nothing short of perfection as you settled into the seat.
“as you know, y/n, our school has been selected for the triwizard tournament, and we are looking for top candidates to represent our school.” she began, and you nodded, hesitantly, silently urging her to continue. “yes, yes. you are one of the brightest witches in your year, y/n. without a doubt, you are an ideal candidate to represent our school, and i’d like for you to join us.”
never once in all your years at the school had you slipped in your manners, but at her proposal, you froze. “me?” you managed, “but i am not even seventeen, i won’t be able to compete in the tournament.”
“i am aware of that, however, you have exceeded in all of your classes during your academic years. your grades are exquisite, and you’ve even taken up assisting some of the younger students in their classes, without any prompting to do so, simply out of the kindness in your heart. we may only have one champion representing our school, but we expect all of the candidates we bring to hold the utmost poise and demonstrate the strengths of our school. it is entirely your decision, of course, but if you’d like to accompany us on the journey, you are more than welcome.” she explained, and you wanted to burst into tears. you fought it however, opting for a bright smile instead.
“i’d be honoured to accompany you, madame. thank you for this opportunity.” you beamed, and she nodded, composed as ever. you swore you could see the ends of her lips tugged upwards slightly, though she’d never admit it if they were.
“of course, y/n. i do hope you haven’t unpacked all of your belongings for the term just yet, as we leave in two days time.” with that, she dismissed you, and you curtsied once more before excusing yourself. you quickly made your way back to your dorm, eager to pack and to write to your parents about the wonderful news.
the following days passed in a blur. you had managed to pack all your things quickly due to magic, and before you knew it, you were placing your trunks in the carriage and climbing inside with the other girls from your school. despite popular belief, most students at your school were very kind, and didn’t care about social hierarchies. you listened to them launch into the kinds of things they would spend the winnings on and the glory of being the ultimate champion, mesmerized by their words.
as you silently listened to the conversation, your gaze travelled out the window of the airborne carriage, dancing across the beautiful shimmering lakes and seemingly endless green fields you passed over. the view from the sky was truly breathtaking, and you soaked in every minute as best you could.
a long journey later, the infamous hogwarts castle could be seen on the horizon and you could hardly contain the excitement coursing through your veins. finally, you joined in on the excited whispers of your companions, eager to land and explore your new surroundings. you watched the abraxans slowly made their descent, and you cringed as they only narrowly missed a few heads. you thanked merlin the carriage was enchanted for a smooth ride, as you were sure had it not been, you would not have enjoyed the trip nearly as much.
you and the other representatives from your school lined up single file and were ushered inside by the staff, preparing you for your grand entrance. your gaze wandered curiously to the boys standing behind you, assuming they were the competitors of durmstrang. your attention was snapped back by your headmistress guiding you in front of the grand doors of the dining hall. you could vaguely hear the voice of the hogwarts’ headmaster, introducing your arrival.
you plastered on a charming smile as the doors opened, gracefully moving in time with your classmates as you’d been taught. you could hear the faint whispers and gasps of adoration as you made your way down the aisle, and the cheers when the enchanted butterflies were released. it was your favourite aspect of the routine. as you all reached the end, you all gracefully bowed, earning an abundance of cheers and hollers.
you moved off to the side, watching with raised brows as the boys you observed earlier entered, the numerous staffs they carried banging loudly against the wooden flooring and nearly making you jump out of your skin. a shudder ran through you at the power they exuded, mentally noting to keep your distance.
professor dumbledore, as they called him, made a few more announcements, before dismissing all students for the night. you happily made your way back to the carriage, exhausted by the day’s travel and eager to see what tomorrow would bring.
the next morning, you were all given the option of where to sit, and you all agreed on sitting at the table wearing blue ties. there was really no particular reason why, other than the fact that they seemed to be the most calm of the bunch. you all sat at the end of the large table, speaking quietly amongst yourselves.
you felt a presence sitting on your other side, but you hardly paid any mind, knowing the table was likely crowded with your occupancy. deep into a conversation about the tournament, you missed the boy next to you clumsily knocking over his glass and squeaked in surprise when a cold liquid landed on your skirt.
spinning in your seat, you turned to give the boy a piece of mind when you froze in a moment of shock. next to you sat the prettiest boy you were sure you’d ever seen. with deep brown eyes and beautiful brown locks that beautifully complimented his pale skin, you were mesmerized.
sure, there were tons of conventionally attractive men at beauxbatons, many of which you’d found to be cute at one point or another, but none could even start to compare to the boy in front of you.
“oh my- i’m so sorry.” he stumbled, panic visible in his wide eyes. a notable pink tint dusted over his cheeks, quickly pulling out his wand and muttering a spell under his breath. the damp patch began to disappear, and he offered you an embarrassed smile when it completely dried.
“it’s quite alright.” you spoke softly, offering him a kind smile. he relaxed, his shoulders slouching in relief when his eyes met your own and saw the sincerity behind them. you giggled, unable to help yourself at his adorable reaction.
he flushed, looking at you shyly. “what are you laughing at?” he asked, hesitantly. you shook your head, composing yourself.
“nevermind, don’t fret over it. my name is y/n.” you introduced, offering him your hand. he stared at it for a moment, before awkwardly grabbing and shaking it. you’d expected him to kiss the top of your hand, but you supposed the customs here were slightly different than those at your school, so you masked your shock with a small nod, retracting your hand.
he cleared his throat, running a hand through his messy locks. “uh, i’m george.” he muttered, and your first thought was that the name suited him well.
“it’s lovely to meet you, george.” you spoke gently, noting his still-embarrassed expression. you paused, offering him a cheeky grin. “even if that meant having a drink spilled on my lap.”
your teasing tone seemed to take him off guard, laughing at his dumbfounded expression. a tap on your shoulder pulled you from your thoughts, noticing everyone from your school was leaving for the day. you stood, following them without another word. feeling his eyes trailing behind you, you turned, shooting him a wink before you disappeared into the crowd of students.
when the time for dinner came, you couldn’t help the smile on your face when you caught sight of the beautiful boy. “good evening, george.” you greeted, showing off your brilliant smile. “may i sit?” he looked a bit surprised, but nodded nonetheless, gesturing for you to sit. you lowered yourself onto the bench, smiling. “how was your day?”
“it was good,” he mumbled, a tinge of uncertainty visible in his eyes. you tilted your head in confusion, frowning slightly.
“is everything alright?” you asked worriedly, and upon seeing his quizzical expression, you sighed. “you’re looking at me strangely.” you explained, and he mumbled an apology, sheepishly.
“sorry, i guess i’m just surprised you’re speaking to me.” he admitted, and you frowned.
“why would i not want to speak with you?” you questioned, and he shrugged shyly, not really having an answer.
“the first interaction we had was me spilling water all over your skirt.” he stated blatantly, and you blinked as you processed his words, bursting into laughter.
“maybe so. but you’ve piqued my interest.” you spoke nonchalantly, as if your heart wasn’t pounding at an alarming speed. you swore you’d never seen anything cuter than george with his cheeks turned a bright shade of pink.
your conversation was interrupted as the food appeared on the table, and you happily began to fill your plate. george copied your actions, silently. “so, care to explain the different uniforms?” you asked, and george raised a brow at you, when you gestured towards his tie. his eyes lit up in realization, and he swallowed the food in his mouth before answering.
you hung onto every word he spoke, thoroughly interested in the concept of hogwarts’ houses. beauxbaton had their own house system, but it was nothing like the one used here. your houses were primarily for sleeping arrangements, but the way george spoke of it, how they had classes with their houses and competed for a house cup, seemed to make for a very divided system. it was fascinating.
“so you have four different quidditch teams at the school?” you questioned, and george nodded.
“each house has its own proper team. we play each other throughout the school year, so there’s almost always an upcoming match to keep everyone excited.” he stated, pausing. “well, with the exception of this year, i suppose. all quidditch was cancelled due to the tournament.”
“i’m sorry, that must be quite disappointing, seeing as you had no warning prior to your arrival at school” you hummed, and george shrugged, taking a bite.
“it’s really not that bad. i could use the time to focus on my studies, anyways.” he shrugged, taking a bite. “the tournament provides a good amount of entertainment, as well.”
you agreed, reaching for another serving when a loud boom echoed through the great hall, making you jump in your seat. glancing around, you watched as the durmstrang and fellow beauxbatons students searched for the sound, though none of the hogwarts students seemed fazed. feeling a tap on your shoulder, you turned to george, who wordlessly pointed upwards.
following his finger, you gasped as you saw the imagery of a lightning storm forming above, suddenly realizing the boom sounded an awful lot like a clap of thunder. your mouth formed a small ‘o’ in amazement, watching the clouds dance around one another.
“enchanted ceiling.” george explained, and you nodded, too stunned to speak.
“this school is full of surprises, i will say that.” you muttered, finally pulling your gaze from the magnificent image above. “i’m eager to see what else lies in this castle.”
george turned to you then, hesitating before sighing. “if you ever want someone to show you around, i wouldn’t mind.” he mumbled, and you’d barely heard him, turning to him in surprise. “of course, there’s no pressure.” he added, sheepishly.
“really? you’d do that?” you asked, a hopeful sparkle glimmering in your eyes. george chuckled, shaking his head.
“i wouldn’t mind. not at all” he smiled softly, and you had to refrain from throwing your arms around the boy.
“that sounds wonderful, george! when were you free?” you beamed, deflating slightly as he stood from his seat. as quick as your disappointment came however, it was quick to be replaced as he offered you a hand.
“how about now?” he smiled, and you brightened, placing your hand in his and allowing him to pull you to your feet. rather than letting go of your hand, he kept it tightly clasped in his as he pulled you into the sea of students leaving the dining hall. you felt heat rise to your cheeks, but said nothing.
“was there anywhere you wanted to go in particular?” he asked, tugging you aside and out of the crowd as he awaited your response. you paused, pondering momentarily before shrugging.
“show me your favourite place.” you replied, softly. george’s expression changed slightly, taken aback by your answer. he turned away, slightly embarrassed as he thought about where to take you. he nodded to himself as he settled on a place in mind, leading you up the grand staircase.
you walked along the corridors, hand still in george’s own as you absorbed everything you could on your journey. you were surprised to learn hogwarts was decorated thoroughly, with magical portraits lining every wall. george had explained to you that certain portraits acted as doors to rooms scattered around the castle, like the common rooms.
finally, he came to a stop. you would’ve kept walking, had you not been holding his hand. you turned to him curiously, glancing around and seeing no indication of your whereabouts. “what is this place?” you asked, curiously.
“this is the library. um, you told me to show you my favourite place. this is it.” he admitted, rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly. a wave of emotions passed through you, and in the spur of the moment, you threw your arms around george. you were quick to release him, barely processing your actions and giving him no time to do so either.
“this is brilliant, george!” you gushed, all but dragging him to the large doors. you instantly fell silent as you stepped foot into the rustic sanctuary, your gaze hungrily exploring the new area in sheer wonder.
the hogwarts library was a stark contrast to the polished white and gold accented walls the beauxbatons library had to offer, but this was much warmer and welcoming.
“it’s wonderful.” you breathed, fully enamoured by the sight in front of you. george heaved a sigh of relief, gesturing for you to follow him. he opted to spend the evening showing you around the various sections, even recommending some of his favourite books the library had to offer.
the coming weeks passed in a blur. the champions were announced, and the school was live with chatter about the upcoming tasks. you could feel the tension growing with each passing day, everyone eager to see the champions in action, and eager to see their schools represented.
after that day in the library, you and george had made a routine for yourselves. after dinner each day, he’d show you around the castle.
some evenings the pair of you could be found in the library, others were spent in the astronomy tower (which he’d told you was another favourite of his), and then there were the instances where you two would simply wander the corridors until your feet hurt, exploring.
george was very quickly becoming your favourite part of hogwarts.
the day of the first task had arrived much quicker after that. classes had been completely cleared for the day, and you proceeded to breakfast as usual. you had to admit, though you anxiously awaited the task, terrified of what it could be, you were just as excited as everyone else.
“good morning, george.” you greeted, lowering yourself onto the bench next to him. he offered you a kind smile, muttering a small good morning in return. breakfast flew by, the chatter of the task loud in the air, and before you knew it, a large crowd began making their way out of the hall, presumably to find good seats for the task.
“george!” a voice called, drawing both of your attentions away from one another. two boys made their way over, and you glanced them up and down.
one was shorter with brown hair, a shade much lighter than georges, and soft green eyes. the other, taller boy had dirty blonde hair and piercing green eyes. you noted their different ties, the first having a tie made of red and gold and the latter having one of green and silver, very different from george’s own blue tie.
“dream. sapnap.” george greeted, reaching out a hand to fist-bump his friends. you moved your lips into a small ‘o’ shape, recognizing the names from george’s many stories.
the taller one shot you a curious glance, his eyes shamelessly looking you up and down, sizing you up. you wanted to shrink under his gaze, but you held your prime posture and offered him a smile instead. he returned the smile, relaxing. “who’s this george?
“y/n.” you introduced, shaking his hand. he offered you a bright smile, before the shorter one offered you a hand to shake as well. you settled back in your seat, tensing at the next words to leave the tall blonde’s lips.
“is this the girl you’re always talking about and that you keep ditching our plans to see?” he teased, earning a smack on the arm from george in retaliation, while you felt the heat creeping up your cheeks, shooting george a quizzical look.
“shut up, dream!” george groaned. he not only talked about you, but he’d cancelled plans for you too? he hadn’t told you that, though the more you thought about it, it made sense. you had spent almost every night together since your arrival, and suddenly, you felt a tinge of guilt.
“can you two stop being idiots? we told karl we’d meet him at the edge of the forbidden forest so we could watch the task together. remember?” sapnap huffed, then turned to you with a smirk. “you’re welcome to join us y/n! the more the merrier!” he invited, causing george to choke on his pumpkin juice.
“that’s a brilliant idea, sapnap. it’ll give us an opportunity to get to know you!” dream exclaimed, and you hesitated, glancing at george. the tips of his ears and cheeks had tinted a bright pink, and you couldn’t help the small smile gracing your lips.
“i wouldn’t want to intrude.” you shook your head softly, “it seems i’ve stolen him away far too much recently.” you spoke softly. dream and sapnap shook their heads, brushing you off and insisting you come. meanwhile, george had a deep frown present on his face.
“you’ve stolen me away? please, it’s more like you saved me. these two are unbearable sometimes.” george groaned, and you giggled at dream and sapnap’s noises of complaint.
sapnap opened his mouth to retaliate, at the same time dream looked at his watch. his eyes flew wide open, grabbing sapnap by the arm, already beginning to walk away. “there’s no pressure, of course, y/n. but if you want to, we’d love to have you watch the task with us. george, we’re already late to meet karl so we’re going to go, but we’ll save you both a seat!” he called, before hurriedly dragging a whining sapnap away from the pair of you.
silence followed, and george shifted, catching your attention. “you know, i really do mean it.” he started, sincerely. “i spend time with you because i want to. dream and sapnap have no idea what they’re talking about.“
you flashed a charming smile, reaching out and placing your hand on top of his. “thank you, george.” you whispered, and he reddened under your genuine gaze.
“we’d better get going, or we’re going to miss the task.” george stood, and you opened your mouth to hesitate, but he simply wasn’t having it. “you’re sitting with us, and that’s final.” he announced, pausing. “unless, of course, you don’t want to.” he added, sheepishly.
“i’d love to sit with you, george. your friends seem lovely.”
the first task had been extremely intense, starting the tournament off strong. though exciting as you expected, the task was just as anxiety-inducing, knowing something could go wrong at any given moment and someone could get seriously hurt. you definitely enjoyed the show, but you were relieved knowing there was a decent time period between the first and second tasks.
along with this break came the most exciting event of the tournament (at least in your opinion), the ceremonial yule ball. you’d read all about the glorious dance, excitedly writing to your mother and asking her to start searching for a dress for the occasion the moment you’d found out you were going to hogwarts.
at that time, you’d expected you’d be attending the event alone, seeing as most of the girls you’d come with could find dates within minutes if they tried. sure, it may not be as fun going alone, but you would have found a way to make it worthwhile. now, things had changed, and you had a certain someone in mind that you hoped was going to ask you.
as the date grew nearer, however, george still had shown no intention of asking you at all, and you were beginning to lose hope. you were so sure he had reciprocated the feelings you harbored for him, but now you were beginning to doubt that certainty. perhaps you’d read too much into your time with george, catching feelings while he saw you as nothing more than a friend.
not knowing what to do, you somehow found yourself outside of dream’s class, due to be let out any minute now. after formally meeting while watching the first task, you’d become quite close with george’s friends. you got along best with dream in particular, and you knew you could trust him. besides, no one knew george like he did.
dream stepped out, his distinct wheeze echoing through the halls. his eyes caught yours, and he bid his housemates goodbye before making his way over to you, throwing an arm over your shoulder. “hey, y/n!” he greeted, joyfully.
“hey, dream.” you mumbled, forcing a smile. immediately, he sensed something was wrong, releasing you with a small frown.
“are you alright? do you want me to help you find george?” he asked softly, and you shook your head, worrying him further.
“no, i’m okay.” you smiled reassuringly, rubbing the back of your neck nervously. “actually, i was looking for you.” you stumbled, and he tilted his head in confusion, gesturing for you to continue. “it’s about george. the yule ball is coming up, as you know, and...” you trailed off, tucking a stray hair behind your ear. dream breathed a sigh of relief.
“oh, that’s all this is about? merlin, y/n, you had me worried for a second there!” dream exclaimed, dramatically throwing a hand over his heart. you shrugged sheepishly, causing him to shake his head with a huff. “does this have anything to do with you being his date to the yule ball?” he asked. you chewed anxiously on your lip, nodding.
“it’s just, he seemed interested, but he hasn’t even tried to ask! i don’t know if he’s even considered it. maybe he has, and maybe he’s decided he would rather not attend with me.” you sighed, fighting the stinging of tears threatening to spill. dream pulled you into a tight embrace.
“trust me, y/n. i don’t think he’d ever even think about going with anyone else.” dream replied, quietly. you pulled back, searching for any sign of dishonesty in his eyes, finding nothing. a small, hopeful smile tugged at your lips, thanking him and heading back to the carriage for the night.
once you were out of sight, dream frowned, heading directly for the library in search of his clueless best friend.
he found george exactly where he’d expected to, furiously writing on a scrap of parchment at his usual table. dream sauntered over, slamming his hands against the wood of the table. george jumped, eyes shooting daggers at his friend as he just barely managed to catch the ink threatening to spill and ruin his essay.
“i hate you.” george muttered, glancing around to ensure madam pince was nowhere to be seen. he failed to notice dream’s expression of pure disappointment.
“you haven’t asked y/n to be your date to the ball yet? why not?” dream demanded, and george froze, dropping the quill gripped tightly in his palm in shock.
“be quiet, would you?!” george shushed, frantically looking for a sign of the librarian, ready to be kicked out at any given moment.
“answer me. why haven’t you asked?” dream repeated quietly, ensuring george caught sight of the exaggerated eye roll he performed.
“i don’t know.” george sheepishly mumbled. his eyes were trained on the parchment in front of him, unable to look his best friend in the eye.
dream groaned, running a frustrated hand through his messy hair. “you better get on it, george. she’s waiting for you.” he muttered, and george’s attention peaked, his brown orbs shooting up to meet dream’s green ones.
“what? how do you know?” george questioned, forgetting momentarily of their whereabouts. a harsh shushing came from his right, and he jumped once more, smiling guiltily at pince as he sunk further into his seat under her piercing gaze.
“i’m not blind, george. just ask already, she won’t say no. but she also won’t wait forever, and you can’t ask her to.” dream rolled his eyes, and before george could argue further, he swept out of the room, leaving the brunette alone with his thoughts and an unfinished essay.
when george had asked you to meet at his ‘second favourite spot’ after a long day of classes, you didn’t think anything of it. you walked up the astronomy tower steps, and smiled at the figure standing on the balcony overlooking the hogwarts grounds. you slowly walked over, tapping his shoulder gently “hi.” you mumbled, and he spun around, smiling down at you brightly.
“hi.” he repeated, stepping aside so you could stand next to him. you did so, leaning on the balcony as you fixated on the glorious landscape, just as beautiful as the first time he’d brought you up here. you stood in silence for a few short minutes, before you turned your head to see george already looking at you with an unidentifiable expression.
“why are you looking at me like that?” you asked, tone teasing, causing george to redden.
“there’s something i’ve been meaning to ask you.” he mumbled, reaching for the back of his neck. your heart picked up speed, swallowing as you tried not to get your hopes up.
“you can ask me anything, george. you know that.” you smiled kindly, and george took a deep breath.
“i was wondering if you’d like to maybe go to the yule ball with me.” he rushed, “and i’m not much of a dancer, but i’m willing to try, for you.” he quickly added, fumbling over his words. you blinked, taking a moment to process his words before you smiled brightly.
you threw your arms around his neck, embracing him. “of course, george. i’d love to go to the ball with you.” you muttered, and george heaved a sigh of relief, wrapping his arms around you tightly.
pulling away slightly, both of you were smiling like idiots. a crazy idea came to mind, and you grinned. “what?” george questioned, tilting his head in confusion.
“you’ve shown me so much. now let me show you how to dance.” you offered, and george was visibly hesitant. “i’ve taken lessons since i was six years old, george. i help teach the first years at my school. i’ll take it slow, promise.” you spoke softly, and he sighed, nodding.
you gently grabbed his hands, placing one on your waist and clasping the other in your hand. step by step, you taught him the moves, and though he clumsily stumbled around and the pair of you looked ridiculous, you’d had more fun than you had in a long time.
it became your new routine, leading up to the ball. every evening, if you weren’t studying, you were up in the astronomy tower, practicing. george was determined to not make a fool of himself at the ball. “dream will never let me live it down.” he claimed, though you weren’t entirely convinced of his reasoning.
still, you didn’t need an excuse. you adored practicing with him, more than you cared to admit. you had a feeling you would forever treasure those late nights spent dancing the night away in the astronomy tower.
finally came the day of the yule ball, and you were simply a wreck. the beauxbatons carriage had never seen such chaos, usually prim and proper. however, the excitement and nerves of the ball were in the air, and it seemed everyone was frantically running around trying to find things and prepare for the night ahead. yourself included.
your mother had sent you a gorgeous dress, along with a matching tie george could wear with his dress robes you’d given to him earlier that week. you didn’t plan on seeing him until the night’s festivities, the hecticness all too familiar from the many balls you’d attended at your own school. madame maxime had made arrangements to have meals delivered to the carriage for the occasion, and you were grateful you didn’t have to leave until you were fully dressed.
hours of preparation and excitement later, the group of you (with the exception of fleur, who had left early to meet with the other champions) made your way to the great hall. it was the only place in hogwarts you trusted yourself to find on your own, having been so many times. you were grateful they chose to host the event somewhere so easily accessible.
you watched as students branched off from their friends in search for their dates, opting to do the same. you scanned the outside area for a familiar face, frowning when you were unsuccessful. it was well possible they’d already headed into the great hall, you figured.
“distraught already? the night hasn’t even begun.” a familiar voice teased, and you spun around, startled. you shot dream a playful glare, rolling your eyes.
“oh really? just when i thought i’d head back to my chambers for the night.” you pouted, and dream chuckled, flicking his gaze up and down your styled figure.
“you clean up nice.” he pointed out, smirking. “i hope you know george will absolutely lose it when he sees you.”
you scoffed, waving him off. “shut up, dream. and for the record, you don’t look too bad yourself.” you smiled, and he nodded in thanks, his gaze travelling past you as his smile grew.
“alright, that’s my cue. i’ll see you later, y/n.” he waved, and before you could question him, someone cleared their throat behind you. you spun, your dress flaring slightly as you met the gaze of the familiar brown eyes you’ve come to adore.
“i- wow.” george breathed, speechless. “you look.. amazing. i mean, you always look amazing, of course, but you just-” he sputtered, and you placed a comforting hand on his arm, smiling gratefully.
“thank you, george. you look quite amazing yourself.” you teased, offering your arm to him. “shall we head in?” you asked, and he nodded, slipping his arm through your own before leading you into the hall.
you gasped as your gaze fell upon the great hall. you hardly recognized the room. frost lined every wall, creating unique designs as far as the eye could see. a faint flurry of cold flakes fell gently from the enchanted ceiling, creating the perfect element of a peaceful winter’s night. the flames lining the hall had been coloured blue, and it all tied together beautifully with the large christmas trees situated at the end of the hall.
george gently tugged you in the direction of your friends, greeting them all with kind smiles and compliments. the sound of the doors opening caught your attention, and you all cheered as the champions and their dates entered the hall with pride. they began the traditional first dance, and you sighed dreamily as you watched them gracefully sway across the floor.
after a round of applause, a second slow song was started, and various couples began to pile onto the dance floor, joining the champions. “may i have this dance?” george asked, startling you. you laughed quietly at yourself, placing your hand in his outstretched one.
“i would love to.” you answered, allowing him to lead you to the dance floor. without instruction, george placed his hands as you’d taught him, and you mimicked his actions. you moved to lead but george shook his head, stopping you.
“allow me.” he mumbled, and you paused, glancing over his determined features. you relaxed in his grip, nodding for him to proceed. you knew how hard he’d practiced for this. he started slow, as if testing the waters, before he grew more comfortable and sped up, meeting the pace of the lively room around him.
with his lip pulled tightly in his teeth, a look of concentration etched on his pale face, you couldn’t believe how lucky you were to be here with him. “what?” he mumbled, clearly amused by your sudden giddiness.
“nothing.” you brushed it off, a noise of surprise escaping you as he suddenly lifted you in the air, in time with the other couples in the room. you weren’t sure where the sudden confidence came from, but you weren’t complaining.
“mhm.” he hummed, a look of disbelief in his eyes. you chuckled, allowing him to spin you out and back into his arms.
“would you believe me if i said i was thinking about how magnificent you are?” you asked, catching him off guard. he nearly stumbled, but quickly caught himself and narrowly missed stepping on your foot.
“you can’t just say things like that while i’m trying not to step on your feet.” he rolled his eyes, and you burst into giggles, prompting george to as well. as your laughter died down, the song came to an end, a slower one taking its place.
your movements slowed, george readjusting his position and pulling you tighter against him. you danced silently, his eyes gazing deeply into your own. you saw nothing but adoration in his eyes, and it made your heart flutter.
this wasn’t your first time dancing with a boy you liked. far from it. countless balls and formals hosted by your school meant that you’d been exposed to several situations in which you’d been asked to dance. you’d felt special every time, flattered that out of all the girls in the room, they’d choose you.
this was different.
in all of hogwarts, out of all of the visiting and prior attending students, george chose you. out of hundreds of choices, he had eyes for you, and only you. he made you feel special in a way no other boy could. his skin against yours sent shockwaves through your body, electric to the touch.
and you loved every second of it.
you weren’t sure how long you danced with george, each song bleeding into the next and blending together. you watched couples leave and join in around you continuously, but you never broke apart. you two were entranced in each other, completely oblivious to the world around you. however, you were merely human, and the exhaustion was catching up to you.
as the last song came to a close, you slowly pulled back from george. stepping out of his grip, you dropped into a curtsy. you glanced up to meet george’s confused eyes, flashing him a cheeky grin. “thank you for the dance, good sir. it was a pleasure.” you attempted a terrible british accent. you both giggled, slightly delirious from the adrenaline high.
to your surprise, george dropped into a bow, grabbing your hand and placing a soft kiss on your knuckles. “trust me, m’lady. the pleasure was all mine.” he said smoothly, his smirk never faltering. though his intentions were playful, you couldn’t help but swoon at his words.
the number of bodies in the room mixed with the way george was making you feel had you fanning your face, attempting to cool down. “do you want to go get some air?” he offered, and you nodded, lacing your hand in his as he pulled you out of the ballroom.
he brought you out to the nearest courtyard, and you gratefully soaked in the cool breeze. the low howl of the wind was a nice contrast to the lively chatter of the great hall, grateful for the moment of peace.
“how has your night been so far?” george’s soft voice cut through the silent night, and you flashed him a smile.
“brilliant, thanks to you.” you responded, truthfully. george reddened at your words, smiling bashfully.
“i’m really glad to hear that.” he mumbled, eyes peering up at the starry sky. when his gaze trailed back down, you were already looking at him.
“and how has yours been?” you prompted, taking a step closer to him with a sultry smile. he gulped at your sudden proximity, but made no move to put any distance between the two of you.
“far better than i could’ve ever imagined.” he whispered. you were close enough now that you could feel his warm breath fanning against your face as he spoke, your eyes flickering to sneak a peek at his lips.
reaching out his hand, he gently tucked away a stray strand of hair blowing tirelessly in the wind out of your face. his eyes trailed over the soft curves of your face, and you leaned into his hand slightly as he moved it to cup your cheek.
a moment of silence passed, with the two of you simply drinking in each other’s features. “can i kiss you?” he mumbled, and you nodded eagerly, meeting him halfway as he leaned forward. your lips barely brushed against each other, the touch feather-light.
you relished in the feeling of his lips against yours, slowly adding more pressure to the kiss as your confidence grew. you moved your hands to rest against george’s chest as his moved to your hips, tugging you closer and kissing you deeper.
it wasn’t perfect, far from it, but it was so indescribably george, and that was more than enough. all the pent up feelings and unspoken words were poured out into your searing kiss, filled with passion and longing.
pulling away for air, you leaned your forehead against his own, smiling like an idiot. “i’ve waited so long to do that.” george admitted, and you nodded, agreeing.
“so have i.” you joked, and he grinned, running a thumb along your cheekbone in a gentle caress.
“i suppose we should probably get back before the others start worrying, right?” he whispered, and you grinned mischievously.
“i think they can wait a little longer.” you mumbled, pulling him to meet your lips once more.
you returned to the hall, hand in hand as you easily found dream and sapnap standing off to the side of the room, chatting with their dates. dream was the first to spot the pair of you, greeting you eagerly. he raised a brow at your entwined hands and giddy expressions, eyeing you curiously.
“good makeout session?” dream teased, causing sapnap to fake a gag. you and george exchanged a knowing look, causing dream’s face to drop into one of shock. “wait, actually?”
you shrugged, leaning into your date happily. “ugh, you two are so gross.” sapnap groaned, earning a smack to his arm from dream. “ouch! what? they are!” he whined, and the slytherin rolled his eyes. the two girls they were with giggled at his childish response.
“well i think they’re adorable.” sapnap’s date cooed, and sapnap feigned a look of hurt, gasping dramatically.
“what about me! i’m adorable!” he pouted, and she burst into laughter, causing his lips to quirk up into a proud grin. you smiled at the sight, turning your attention back to george, who was invested in small talk with dream.
the group of you chatted for a while, before you recognized the opening of one of your favourite songs. you excitedly tugged on george’s sleeve, flashing your best pleading eyes. he chuckled, excusing the two of you as he guided you back to the dance floor. dream and sapnap followed his lead, inviting their dates to dance alongside you.
hours later, the ball had dwindled to a noticeably smaller crowd, as most of the younger students had left for their common rooms for the night. you and george had taken a break to acquire some refreshments, seated at one of the many tables littering the hall.
“i don’t know how much more dancing i can handle.” you groaned, glaring at the heels you wore. they complimented your dress beautifully, but after dancing in them for several hours, you were beginning to loathe the pair of shoes.
“do you want me to walk you back to the carriage?” he offered, though you didn’t miss the flash of disappointment in his expression he desperately tried to mask.
“i don’t want this night to end yet.” you admitted, and he smiled, offering you a hand.
“then let’s go somewhere.” he said excitedly, pulling you from your seat. you both bid your friends goodnight before you allowed him to lead you out of the ballroom. you didn’t question him, simply trusting him to take you wherever his heart desired.
you soon found yourself at the bottom of the astronomy tower, beginning your ascent up the familiar steps. you both wordlessly headed to the balcony, lowering yourselves into a sitting position as you fell into a comfortable silence. you let your head fall on his shoulder, feeling him tense under you momentarily, quickly relaxing and resting his head against yours.
a cold breeze brushed past, sending a shiver coursing through your body. george must’ve noticed as he was quick to remove his robe and tug it over your shoulders. “you don’t have to-” you started, but he was quick to cut you off.
“i know. just let me.” he mumbled, and your breath hitched as you noticed his loosened tie and crinkled dress shirt. the wind gently blew his hair, causing a few strands to dance wildly in the breeze. at that moment, george looked ethereal.
“you really do look beautiful tonight.” he spoke softly. your eyes met, and it was then you realized that as you had been admiring him, he had been doing the same to you. you smiled, moving forward and capturing his lips in another kiss.
pulling away, you leaned back into george’s side. he happily placed his arm around you, holding you tight as you both gazed up at the stars.
“hey george?” you asked, quietly. he hummed, alerting you that he was listening as he carded a hand through your hair. “what’s going to happen when i go back home?”
george’s breath hitched, pulling away to look at you with a sad expression. “i don’t know.” he answered honestly, and you frowned.
“you’ll write?” you asked hopefully.
“of course.” he replied, without hesitation. “i’d rather not think about it, though. let’s just enjoy the time we have together, yeah?” he prompted. you nodded, curling back into his side and sighing in content.
“yeah, okay.” you mumbled, tucking your head into the crook of his neck. your eyes began to feel heavy, and with the comforting weight of his arm around you and the warmth of his body against yours, you were quickly eased into a light slumber.
you didn’t know what the future held for you and george, but you each only had one more year of school before you graduated. for him, you were willing to wait. a year wasn’t awful, and you’d keep in contact throughout the year. honestly, you’d wait decades if he asked, if it meant the two of you would be together in the end. luckily for you, that wasn’t the case.
however, george was right, of course. there was no sense dwelling on the dreaded day until it arrived. so for now, you’d make the most of your time left at hogwarts, with the boy you’d come to love.

Description: You and your sister Cairo are on your way to the Antartic Empire to stay with family. There is some trouble along the way. (Muffinteers x M!Reader)
[Read the rest under the cut]
{《☆》}
"Cairo," you call, throwing a stick into the slowly growing fire. "It's getting late, kid."
Your sister's tent remains closed though, quiet even when she'd usually be complaining loudly about spending another night in the woods. You stretched quietly, almost letting it go if not for something in your head nagging at you.
"Hey, kid? You asleep already?" You glanced back at the fire, where you should be keeping watch as she slept. Stepping over a log you pushed aside a flap of the tent. Xyr bedroll was empty, xry covers still neatly set up and practically untouched.
"Well, shit..."
{《☆》}
Wiggling xyr fingers awkwardly, she tried to pull xry hand out of the tight knots. Xry socks scrapped against the floor as she hung, they were undoubtedly ripped which she was slightly upset about, they were xyr favourite pair. Cairo knew with hindsight that leaving xyr brother behind was the worst decision she could've made.
Huffing, she stopped for a moment to breathe. It was so stupid. All she wanted was to have a little fun and maybe steal a few gold coins off of them and they kidnap xem. Xyr pouch was tucked into one of the backpacks in front of xyr, so they were the real thieves. There were at least 4 copper coins that they were taking and not to mention the ugly one pocketing xyr dagger!
She was so going to tell her brother one of them hit on xyr. They are so going to regret kidnapping xyr.
When she finally managed to pull xyr thumb out, one of xem kidnappers came out of the tent they had been talking in. She puffed xyrs chest out and glared, xyr heart beating as they walked over anyway.
"So, we've decided to kill you!" They clap their hands together enthusiastically, a wide grin on their face before they burst out laughing. "No, we're not. But you should've seen the look on your face! Hilarious. Anyway, we're going to keep you! Or Stevie'll keep you, she was adamant on not letting you die or selling you so this is the next best thing! You should thank her!"
"What?" She said, head spinning. They laughed again, less insane this time, and turned to leave. "Wait! What-? You can't-"
"We can, we are." They shrugged and ducked to get back in the tent. She glared at the offending green, gritting xyr teeth as it stayed upright.
Looking up, she stood as tall as she could and started yanking xyr hand out. Dirt got in xyr socks as she managed to get a free hand. Pulling at the rope with xyr hand was so much easier than xyrs earlier nonsensical wiggling and she pulled it out quickly. Glancing back at the tent, she riffled through the bags and pulled out both xyr pouch and a pretty pink pouch and started running.
She started off north, both pouches wound tightly closed and packed into xyr waistband. Cairo didn't even know if xyr brother was in that direction and ran with blind hope.

You pressed your sword into the healer's neck, casting a critical eye around the campsite. The group of freelance mercenaries was beaten and forced on their knees. "Where is my sister?"
The tallest one laughed nervously, their eyes, violet eyes, darting around the camp and settling on a set of ropes before darting back to you quickly. They didn't have xyr then, but they had. The healer, who was crying pitifully, blurted out an answer. "We sold her."
"You're lying to me," you growled. "Now tell the actual truth or I'll chop your head off."
"I'm sorry." They gasped, breathless as they trembled. "She ran off. I don't know what way. Please don't kill me."
You dropped her to the ground and kicked her as a warning. They were useless to you now if she had already gotten out. If you were a stronger man, maybe you'd have killed them for it, but you weren't a killer yet and you didn't want them to be the first blood on your hands.
Wrapping your own rope around their wrists, you pulled them just a bit too tight. You may not kill them but they still took your sister.
Hands wound tightly around your necklace, you followed your sister's trail with swift feet. Xyr movements were jerky and panicked, wrapping around a tree twice before they ducked into a low hanging canopy and started straight forward for what seemed like miles.
Cairo was a fast little gremlin when she wanted to be and it showed by how far you had to walk. But slowly it seemed your compass was honing in xyr position as it swivelled a bit to the left.
Rushing forward, you walked into another campsite with your sword drawn. You could see your sister's back to you, arguing with a masked fellow. "My brother is going to come for me, I don't need your help."
"It could take hours for him to navigate these woods." They stressed, their hand nowhere near their sword at their hip which meant you could knock him out and take Cairo without a struggle. "How would he even know where..."
A sword was pointed at your back, making you straighten up and pivot forward as the unknown swordsman swung too slowly. Keeping the momentum you dashed towards your sister and came sword to sword with the masked man in a hideous lime green cloak. Their mask was more menacing face to face, porcelain that shone like glass with the tiniest cracks and you could see the briefest glance of his tan skin.
Cairo ducked out of the way, tucked close to you like a little baby bear to their mama. You dodged the dark-haired swordsman with a twirl, making sure to keep xem near you at all times. The masked man managed to get a lucky blow, cutting through your shirt right below where your compass hung around your neck.
Gritting your teeth, you managed to knock the dark-haired swordsman to their knees and before the masked one could stab you through your kidney you wrapped your arm around the weakened man's neck and pulled them between you two.
"Try anything and I kill him." You threatened. Cairo hesitantly stepped behind you, glancing between all of you. The other's face was impossible to read with a mask on, but their knuckles went white before they dropped their sword.
"Don't you dare." They hissed.
Narrowing your eyes at him, you took a quick glance back at Cairo. Unluckily for you, your captive grew a pair and elbowed you. Gasping, you kicked out wildly as you started falling backwards. Someone cursed and you took vindictive pleasure in causing them pain before Mask pointed their sword at your neck.
"Stop! Y/N-" Cairo stepped forward but you glared at xem. You glanced between xem and the forest and she obviously caught on. She didn't move though, still in the same place with the one you had previously held captive moving behind her.
Mask put their foot on your stomach and pressed a little too hard, making you gasp for breath. Glaring up at them, you let your grip on your sword go lax and waited.
"Don't ever threaten Sapnap again." His voice was venomous, still laboured with his effort to keep you down. They pressed down harder. "Or it'll be the last thing you do."
Baring your teeth, you heard something snap in the distance. Mask looked over quickly and you forced yourself to roll away. Mask stumbled heavily as 'Sapnap' stepped in front of your sister and towards you.
"Stop fighting them!" Cairo shrieked desperately, panicked as Dream picked himself up faster than you expected.
"I promised..." You gasped for breath. "That I would protect you. And I intend to keep the damn promise."
"They aren't hurting me! They helped me!" She yells. When you pause, Mask manages to knock you down again and this time he doesn't go lax. Sapnap looks back at xem and his brows furrow.
"Wait... is this the brother you were talking about?"
"Yes!"
Mask doesn't look away so you don't either. It's a particularly aggressive staring contest, but the fighting is more comfortable than the other stares people give you. Xyr huffs, moving past Sapnap and standing right by your side. "Dream, if you kick my brother again I will curse you."
'Dream' stared you down as he got off you, sword tightly held in his hands. You took a quick breath in and slowly got up, never taking your eyes off of him either. You weren't planning on losing this fight.
One of the voices in your head, the ones you usually try to suppress with varying success, pipes up with a teasing quip. "I really want those hands wrapped around my neck instead of his sword"
Grimacing, it still didn't break you.
"his hands but make it a necklace," another agreed.
"i want those thighs to... anyway"
"/rainbowchat"
"okay but that mask is kinda... ya knowww"
"bonk horny jail for all of you"
You couldn't help but look away. Your voices were making things take a very uncomfortable turn. Coming from the forest, two other men walked out and finally Dream looked away.
Cairo pressed close to you and instantly the voices went back to fussing over xem. You wrapped an arm around xem even though your arm was as sore as the rest of you. Goggles and Hoodie, as you dubbed them mentally, were glancing over at you a lot. Dream and Sapnap were probably telling them all about how you got your ass handed to you.
"Are you hurt?" You whisper asked. Cairo shook xyr head, wiggling xyr fingers in a so-so motion.
"Bad, the hoodie guy, gave me some balm for my feet and helped me wash off my rope burns." She whispered back and then gestured down to the new pair of sandals that were obviously too big for xyr feet. Then, in a meeker voice, she said, "I'm sorry for sneaking out."
You shake your head softly, adrenaline already draining. "Right now I'm just glad you're okay." Then, in the same voice your Dad used to speak with, you added. "We will be discussing your punishment later."
She pouted, already aware that she was losing xyr free-range privilege. Now you were going back to the days of kiddy leashes like when she was 8 and in an even worse rebellious phase. At least back than it was easier to pick xem up.
"Hello!" Hoodie, Bad technically but that was a weird name so you weren't calling him that, bounced over to you with a diplomatic smile. "So you're Cairo's brother?"
You nod slowly, you felt awkward standing there without your sword and virtually defenceless against four armed men. "I came here 'cause she was missing."
"Yeah, we found her looking for you after some people took her I suppose," Goggles added. You appreciated the fact that he didn't look you in the face, it was more than amusing especially since it happened so often.
With a mean grin, you said, "I already took care of them. They'll be hogtied in these woods until some bear comes and takes pity on them."
Cairo grins up at you, brushing xyr hair back and mimicking a crazy sign. "Those wackos were a special kind of crazy. Wouldn't be surprised if the bears ran from them."
Despite yourself, you chuckled at your sister's quips. Dream glanced over at you, like he was in disbelief you could perform the most menial task of laughing. The voices whispered in your head, their own, more flirty, or in some cases violent, quips.
You shrugged at him. Bad clapped his hands together, his face a bit off-put but understanding. "Well I know you two probably want to head back home and all but it is getting late. You two can stay here for the night if you want." Then he added on. "And since there are more of us it'd be safer too!"
You looked over at your sister. You didn't particularly like anyone there but Cairo was... well not in the best shape despite the act she put up. Xyr feet were still all bloody and probably a bit torn, xyr clothes in a mess of a state. She'd end up with hypothermia if she tried to go back at night, especially when it hits an all-time low.
"Yeah, I think we should." You finally say. Bad nods along with a pleasing smile, obviously already having your train of thought.
Goggles fixed his, well, goggles, pushing them up with a finger before taking them off altogether to put them back on. "Well, we should probably set up our extra tent then. If you can't tell, we weren't exactly planning to find a pair of homeless strangers in the wood."
"We aren't homeless," You instantly protest, despite the fact that it's technically true.
Goggles gives you an unimpressed look over and your voices instantly choose a new target to simp over until Dream grabs their attention again by scoffing. Although to be fair, in your slightly biased opinion, Goggles was better looking than Dream.
"Well, either way," They gesture to their camp. "We weren't prepared for visitors so we'll need a few minutes to find and set up your tent." He brushed some long pieces of hair behind his ear, giving a quick but pretty smile.
"That's fine. Thank you," You were mentally adding Goggles to the short list of people you'd let the voices simp over. After all, you did have a slight weakness for pretty boys and the voices would simp over just anyone if you didn't give them some fuel, case in point: Dream.
The masked individual was standing tense in front of you, his stare heavy. Dream's hands were tight on his sword, situating himself in front of Sapnap protectively. It was a silent threat to move away, daring you to fight him too, but he cared more about keeping you away from Sapnap than fighting. How soft of him.
Cairo tugged on your sleeve, reminding you of your own protective streak. Glancing up, you gave a hardly noticeable dip of your head and turned away with your sister still tucked in your side. Who knows if Dream reacted to your silent truce or if he even realized you understood his anger. It didn't matter to you though, you were already helping Goggles (who introduced himself as George) finish the tent.
{《☆》}
Cairo knocked out on xyrs rolled out sleeping bag, tucked in snugly because the voices were extra over-protective of xyr injured state. She was thoroughly exhausted, dozing off seconds after she laid down.
You brushed some of xyrs hair back, gently tracing xyr hairline and cheek bone. You remembered when your Mama used to do this to you, humming a song to you in her native language as she gently traced a line from your nose up to your forehead. When the song came to a close, you'd always be asleep without fail. Mama never got to do that for Cairo, but you could.
Unexpectedly, your tent opens and Hoodie peeks in. "Oh, hi! Sorry to barge in but, uh–, we wanted to have a little group discussion about..."
"Us."
Bad nods, his cheeks flushed with an odd off-white blush. "We'll be around the campfire waiting!"
You glance back at Cairo, hesitating briefly. Chat was vehemently protesting leaving her alone but... you trusted xem. She wouldn't do it again and she knew to run if these men turned out corrupt. Picking up your sword, you awkwardly half crawled half squatted out.
Dream, Sapnap, and George were talking lowly. Quiet enough for you to not hear, unluckily enough.
Chat, however, seems to hear them just fine.
"Ouchie"
"Wow can't believe Dream would insult us like that"
"Smh just like every other yt boy"
"Heart been broke so many times..."
Well, that issue was slightly settled. As you walked over to them, a bit miffed at being insulted behind your back and tired, Hoodie noticed you.
"Hey–" They hesitated.
"It's Y/N." Glancing over at Dream and George, who were both giving you neutral looks. Surprisingly Sapnap was the only one grinning.
"Right." Hoodie coughed, wearing an awkward smile. "Well, please sit. I'm sure we can all have a nice and civil discussion."
Dream coughed, muttering to Sapnap.
"I will literally nuke him"
"If he says 1 more thing about my boy I will just start crying"
"Why do we even crush on yt men anymore we're too good for them"
Again, rude much.
You sat down right next to Bad, who you now had slightly more respect for, across from the Trio themselves. Sapnap gave you a polite smile and George was still the pinnical of neutral but Dream... that man was staring daggers at you. You could feel it.
"So, why was I called here again?" You are very aware you haven't asked yet, but the sentence structuring is better so you're ignoring it. For plot.
Sapnap leaned forward, completely unconcerned by how close he was to the fire. "Well first off, Dream wants an apology."
That was rather blunt, you tilt your head to the side to stare Dream directly in the eye and then back at Sapnap. The voices argue over whether or not Sapnap's toothy, boyish grin makes him simpable or not. Again, at least he's not Dream.
"The masked yt boy failed us we're sapnap stans now"
"Sapnap arson pog?"
"Is he yt? He looks yt"
"arson pog"
"ik dream is yt and evil and all but those arms tho..."
Fine, you would be the better and bigger person. "That's fair. Dream, Sapnap, I apologize for being wrong."
"Not for attacking them?" George asked, a brow raised coolly.
"I'm not sorry for defending Cairo. I didn't know who you were, I didn't care what happened to you." It was easy to explain, however rude and blunt it might sound. Your sister, to you, was of the highest priority. Her safety was number 1 to anything else. If you went back in time with the knowledge you have now, maybe you would've tried a different approach. Without that knowledge, however, you'd do it again in a heartbeat. "I am sorry that I was wrong. Sapnap and Dream weren't harming her, so I apologized."
George gives you a slow look before shrugging. "Good enough."
"I accept the apology!" Sapnap chuckled good-naturedly. How he was so easy going was odd, but the voices cooed warmly so you let it go. "No permanent harm done, all is forgiven."
"I suppose I understand." Dream nodded, his voice short and clipped. It seemed your apology hadn't managed to thaw his entire, frozened neutral persona but at the very least it was a room temperature persona now.
"We'd all do anything for the ones we love," Bad agreed, an understanding in his voice. Chat liked him, you realized, and you respected him. An excellent combination not to be skewered. He was rounded off corners at the edge of a table, easy to brush off but able to thoroughly damage someone or a dull pencil point that you accidentally dig into your finger. Innocent at first, harmless at second glance, but truly he was a peaceful persona.
Accidents or anger, and the peacefulness would be a weapon. Peaceful does not mean harmless.
"Well, I'll be off. I've got to get some sleep before we head out tomorrow."
"Tommorow?" Bad crows back. He has a look on his face, well meaning and eager to take in strays, not wanting to let you go yet. Worried, in simplest terms. "I don't think Cairo will be fully healed by tomorrow. Especially not enough for a long walk."
"No, she won't. But I'm planning on carrying xem back to camp." You tilt your head back, glancing at the tent. Cairo should be in xyr bedroll, resting xyr feet. Hopefully. Logically, you knew she would. Emotionally you were anxious to get back to xem.
"You two are welcome to stay here until she's fully healed?" Bad leaned closer, a kind and helping hand. They shook their head a tiny bit, thinking to themselves. "I know the tent isn't the most comfortable but we could set up a better tent tomorrow?"
"Thank you, you are very kind," And it is a sweet thought. Your voices are cooing at the demon already. "But I'd rather be on the road sooner rather than later. Cairo and I are on a tight schedule."
"Where you heading?" Dream tilted his head, like a confused puppy.
"The Antarctic Empire. We have family there. I—," Briefly, you hesitate and glance back at Cairo's tent. "I think it'd do xem some good to be around family again."
Sapnap and Bad nod sympathetically, if not in slight pity. It's an irritating emotion but you've gotten used to it.
"We'll, we weren't planning on heading there but I'm sure a small detour is fine!" Bad glances over at the rest of his group. They shrug or nod and Bad grins. "It's not that far and we've been quite a few times before. We can help navigate around anywhere you might need."
"Anywhere," George says ominously, snickering with Sapnap.
"Maybe," Its all you can think to say. Your voices want to go with them, the load of simps. And logic says to stay away. Ultimately your decision would be left up to the ultimate tie breaker..
Cairo.
"I'm heading out for the night. Thanks again for the tent."
"No problem!" Bad waves you off.
The night is cool but not cold. The crickets are loud in a comfort white noise way. It's nice, the voices agree. Maybe, just maybe, a small part of you wants Cairo to agree.

You worried your lip between your teeth, leaning back against the coarse fabric of your bed. Teams were already forming, people huddled in their own unconsciously divided sections watching stragglers warily. The next game was set to start soon and you hadn't joined a team, an unsettled pit in your stomach every time you thought about picking a side.
There were two large groups, one set of people referring to themselves as "L'Manburg" and another calling themselves "Dream's Ensemble" or something similar. Each leader was a stark division from the other, one team lead by the first number, 001, and the last number, 486, though you didn't remember who had which.
Your own number, 243, was smack dab in the middle of both of the numbers. In a way, the rest of the stragglers considered you their de-facto leader with no one else taking up the mantle. There weren't many who hadn't chosen a side but there was still enough people for you to feel so small for the shoes you were trying to fill.
You tore a piece of your bread apart, shoving it in your mouth with nothing else to do. It wasn't amazing bread, not warm and soft and slightly buttery, but it could've been worse. You've had people give you worse. You took a good look over the people spanning the beds around you. They weren't trustworthy, not truly, you didn't know half of their names and the rest of them were a blubbering mess of weak spots. Weak spots got you killed.
Frowning, you ripped off another piece of bread. As you shove it in your mouth. the disgusting taste of paper hit your tongue. You've eaten enough scrap paper in times of desperation to know the taste of ink smearing your tongue. Spitting it out, you wipe at your tongue with your sleeve and grimace at the slobbery piece of paper in your bread.
'Circle. Triangle. Star. Umbrella.'
It was scrawled in perfect print. on such tiny paper that it was a wonder you ever noticed it. You glanced around, curious if anyone else noticed the odd taste. No, nothing. No one had hunched into themselves reading a tiny pink slip. You were the only one to notice.
Without thinking, you shoved the paper in your mouth. It wasn't a good taste but you had a feeling the slip had something to do with the next challenge. Shoving the rest of the bread in your mouth, you chugged the rest of your milk and wiped your mouth. The next challenge would be starting soon, you should probably try to make some alliances, however strained.
"Hi," Someone walked up to you before you could move, white-rimmed sunglasses pushed high up their nose. Their light brown hair was bouncing with their steps. "I don't think we've talked yet."
"No," You affirm, briefly looking over their shoulder and catching the stone-faced leader staring back. Goosebumps trailing your neck, you twist your head up to look in 404's eyes from your low position on your bed. "I'm Y/N. No last name."
"George, last name not needed." They said, lips quirked up with amusement. "So, I'm only asking because Dream told me to but would you like to join the Dream SMP."
"No," You said without needing to think. You could join, but they had a target painted on their back by L'Manburg and it was drama unneeded. "I appreciate the offer but I'd rather stay a neutral party for now."
George didn't look surprised at all. "I thought so," he said, solidifying your guess. "You don't seem the type to instantly join a fight. You'd watch and wait for the right moment to join. Dream didn't think so but he's a stupid American."
"You're oddly observant," You say in lieu of a response.
"And so are you." George did smile this time. a sweet little thing, shy but heart-warming. "Word of advice, don't wait too long. You sit around the entire time and people won't need you. You'd be another death in a game where people stopped keeping track."
You look at George, really look at him, and he is unassuming with his too-large zip-up hoodie that wasn't his and his boyish, charming features. There is a sharpness to his face though, sharp teeth hiding behind soft lips and edges that could cut steel. His eyes, barely noticeable with the sunglasses. see too much with a smart glint that has you wondering what he doesn't know. He tips his head to you, face going back to an impasse.
"See you after the game," His voice is solid, confident. You are confident too.

You pick a triangle and it is the easiest decision you've made in a while. George greets you with a tip of his head, already leaning back into a bed when you're done. Dream is looking at you over his shoulder and the goosebumps are back.
Settled down in your own corner of the nobodies, you don't expect anyone to bother you until gunshots start ringing out. But someone does, shaking your shoulder and then leaping back when you swing your leg at them.
"Woah," 034 has their hands raised in the air, a large distance between the two of you. They have a bandana wrapped around their head, swaying with them as they lean back. "Sorry dude didn't mean to startle you."
"Whatever, why are you here?" You grumble, a bit peeved at being woken up.
"Uh, oh, Dream wanted to see if you changed your mind." They laugh nervously, scratching at their neck as they look back. Dream is staring at both of you, eyes slanted in an oddly personal way as he meets your eyes. His eyes are a hazel type, with a warm brown circling the pupil but a forest green mixed at the edges. They're like steel as they trace your face, searching for any emotion that will give away your thinking.
"I don't know," You look back at 034, not missing their minuscule flinch from your stoic gaze. "Depends. Has it been long enough?"
They sway in place, switching from the balls of their heels to the tips of their toes anxiously. Not meeting your eyes directly, 034 shrugged. "Maybe, dunno. Not up for me to decide."
You hum, watching 034's hair tilt and fall to cover their eyes, black hair sucking the light out of the world around them. Their white bandana is the only divide you can notice in his hair, too many dark shades blended together to tell which parts fluff up or twist sporadically. He's the type to look dangerous at first glance, sharp features and burning eyes that solder fear into your heart. But he's nothing without a fearless leader to command him. He is a right-hand man but nothing more. It does not make him useless, just troublesome.
"No, not yet," You look back at Dream, smiling with no emotions. He doesn't look different, still staring at you indescribably, just with his lips twisted down and pressed into a thin line.

A fight breaks out at night. It shocks you awake as your bed shakes with the force of a body slamming into it. People are screaming, crying, bleeding out in front of you. The sheets you were sleeping on are white but the floor around you is not so lucky.
Dodging past a crazy person whose attacking wildly, you spot the two main groups attacking each other. Sharp edged bottles cracked up for weapons, metal bars from the beds gripped tight in small hands.
You squint down at them, stepping closer to the scene. Dream, George, and 034 are leading the fight, all sporting weapons against the relatively young adults that make up L'Manburg, carving lines into cheeks and stabbing shallow wounds into tripped people. You don't know if anyone even has a team when everyone's attacking at wild.
Kicking a bloodthirsty man towards the fight, he's taken down in seconds by an angry dutch man screaming something about furries. Blood pools around their body and you take the brief second to leap down and take their weapon off of them. Slick metal, dripping with blood, is wiped down with your shirt before you try using it. It wouldn't be useful if it fell out your hands the second you tried using it, would it?
You keep towards the outskirts, attacking anybody who gets close. They tend to scramble off quick enough, looking for bigger fish to fry. That is until an oddly tall British man leaps down from a bed and faces you.
"So, you're the person Dream's been trying so hard to get." 486 comments almost idly, bored in fact. "If I'm honest, you don't look like much. Too weak, don't look too smart, I'm honestly surprised you made it this far."
He's not entirely wrong. You hadn't entirely expected to make it this far either, after so much time spent not doing anything productive this felt like too much progress. It felt good to be good at something, but you're also struggling to keep it up.
"You're not all that either," You snap, aiming desperately for an insult to land. Your words sound so familiar to you and it takes you a second to realize they're words you tell yourself. "You're smart sure but your not a leader. Your followers won't respect you when you start losing. You're a phony."
486 grits his teeth as the words hit their mark, arms flexing as they grip their weapon tighter. "Shut up."
You dodge a hard swing, knowing now that you two are more alike than you had thought. You dig deep into the darkness of your brain, pouring every taunting insult you've been told into a mold for a weapon sharp enough to hurt 486. "Why? Afraid of facing the truth that you're building yourself too high. When you fall, no one is going to catch you."
"Shut up!" 486 yelled, face flushed a hundred shades of fury. They swing again and this time you cannot dodge their long arms. Large shards of glass stick out from your arm, cracks in the glass as you drop to the floor. 486 stands over you, looming with a wicked sneer. "You're just a pest. A stupid fucking-!"
Someone bodily slams into 486 with a battle cry, using their metal bed post to hold 486 prisoner against the wall. You take a harsh breath in, stilted like the fear ripped your lungs open. As you open your eyes again, George is standing in front of you. He smiles, a cheeky little smug smile that flushes his cheeks pink. "Saw you needed some help, it's not too early is it?"
"Right on time," You said with an airy breath. George reached down and pulled you up, his soft hands cold against yours carefully. He didn't let go and neither did you. "I'm very much reconsidering my neutral stance," Glancing back at George, you smirked a bit. "After all, I need my knight in shining armour to keep me safe."
George laughed, his cheeks alight with embarrassment. Brushing it aside for his own good, he smiled, "I'm glad you've decided to join."
Looking over at 034, he was wiping off sweat as 486 scrambled towards 213. They looked up, meeting your eyes and smiling. "Glad you're alright now, you looked pretty shit during that. I mean, you're hot and all but blood doesn't look good on anyone." They shake their head before laughing. "So, where's Dream?"
George shook his head fondly, "You're an idiot, Sapnap."
Sapnap grinned, sharp-fanged and welcoming. "You love me."
"Go away," Letting go of your hand, George pushed Sapnap's face away roughly. As Sapnap ambled back to Dream, George looked back at you. Softening, he smiled sweetly at you, raising a hand to brush someone's blood of of your face. "I'm glad you're not just a number. Like, really glad."
You laugh and reach up to hold his hand, leaning into it more than socially acceptable. "I'm glad you aren't either." When you let go, George keeps your fingers linked. He bats away wild attacks, pulling you behind him often.
Dream meets your eyes as you walk into their metal barricade. Their stone cold face breaks into a smug little smile. "I told you so, George."
"Whatever, Dream, go get Ponk," George rolled his eyes, meeting your eyes as Dream happily ambles towards another fellow.
The brunet rolls his eyes fondly. "Dream's prideful. He was so sure you'd join us."
"Well I did, so he's not wrong." You look over at the man whose face seems to be naturally blank. He looks back and as both of your eyes meet he smiles, a softer but very wrong look from the man. Maybe he's just one of those people with a creepy smile. That does sound fitting.
There is a certain relief that comes with being able to let others make your choices. Having people stare at you, expecting and waiting, it makes your skin itch with the weight. Sapnap seems to feel the same, watching Dream, who takes the feeling in stride and thrives, waiting for an order to attack, to wait, to sleep, anything. It's sort of like he's a puppy.
Smiling at your own thought, imaging Sapnap with floppy dalmatian like ears, you slump back into George's shoulder. The brunet doesn't seem to care, too busy wiping blood off of his metal pole. Sapnap looks over, meeting your eyes with his own wide smile. Definitely a dog-boy.
"The fighting seems to be dying down," Dream says, looking down at you from where he now stands at your side. They twist their pole in their fingers, like it's easy to manipulate in theihands. "You two can rest. Me and Sap can take the first shift."
"Thanks Dream," George says, instantly standing to curl in the bed withing the fort. "Come on, Y/N."
"Alright," You stand, brushing dust off of your bloody clothes. Maybe it was counter-productive. "Thanks for the save again, Sapnap."
"Anytime handsome," He laughs, nodding you away to sleep.
Pillow next to George's, you think that maybe you should've joined sooner.
