Both of us sitting together on a comfy chair like this, doing our own things. Reading a book or sleeping softly or being on the phone or just thinking, but doing so while enjoying this silence together, no words or actions needed. Just feeling your body so close to mine, hearing you breath when I focus on it. Feeling you relax against me, simply enjoying this moment. Enjoying being together like this, not having something to do, no having somewhere to be, not having anyone interrupt us.
This is happiness.

The feeling of happiness cannot simply be described by things you enjoy doing. It’s not simply warmth or simply drinking something you like. When you feel bad and do this it might as well be tasteless and cold.
Happiness is created in the moment itself. It’s that little smile you see on a face when you look at someone who’s dear to you, the taste of chocolate that stays behind after you emptied the cup or the smell of cold winter air.
It’s the ray of sunlight finding it’s way through colorful autumn leaves to help you read your book, the warm touch of loved ones and the smell of paper and ink in your own little library.
It’s the feeling of your most comfortable armchair when you settle down with a warm cup of tea or a glass of whiskey in front of a roaring fire while talking to a friend.
Happiness is getting out of your sleeping back and tent in order to walk through a nearly empty campground in between tall trees, breathing the morning air and watching the glittering dewdrops evaporate beneath the first sunlight.
It’s driving along new roads with good music and someone beside you, enjoying it just as much as you do.
Happiness isn’t specified by certain activities, it’s specified by the moments connected to them, the people around you and the freedom that comes with it.
Happiness can be waking up on a normal day and smiling like an idiot because of a nice text, dancing through your room because of that one song or just smiling at the warmth of your bed when you notice that you still got 5min.
