I was listening to a playlist and Just Wanna Be With You from HSM 3 played, and suddenly it was about me and my partner. Tiny seven-year-old me watched Highschool Musical with stars in her eyes, embedding Troy and Gabriela as the embodiment of a perfect relationship, screaming songs about love and loss with no real comprehension of their meaning. Now I'm older, dating my best friend, and that little child is still there, still singing these songs but now understanding them as well. There's something truly beautiful yet bittersweet about things that transcend time and watching the things that I romanticized as a child come to life in one way or another...

So, I re-watched High school musical again. And I see myself with the enormous obligation to express this:
#1: The movies' songs are such bangers.
And #2: WHY CHAD AND RYAN HAVE MORE CHEMISTRY THAN TROY AND GABRIELLA?! At the end of the "I don't dance" performance Chad said, "I'm not saying I'll join your show, BUT if I did... What would you have me to do?" While Ryan proceed to gave a smirk and walked away only to show them in each other's clothes in the next scene... SERIOUSLY, THERE'S NO HETEROSEXUAL EXPLANATION FOR THAT! I can't believe my young self used to think of them as "really good enemies to friends" Oh sweet heavens, it was much more than that.
How didn't I get the vibes??
