are you more of a pasta girl or a potato girl or maybe perhaps a rice girl
life becomes so beautiful when you start cooking rice in liquids other than water
Sam Gamgee deserves more credit for refusing to serve unseasoned food in the woods in the middle of the most dangerous quest of all time
Genuinely, I've been carrying salt packets on me for probably seven years now for this very reason. I was served a bland meal once... never again.
What if we had portable seasonings and sauces for emergencies
I like making it in chicken stock, adding garam masala and allspice, and raisins—I think the sweetness of them pairs quite nicely with the savoury rice. It's something I threw together once, decided was pretty good, and now it's a go-to of mine. No idea about the ratio, seasonings are measured with the heart.

Soup?
I'm a fan of the stuff; I even ate it every day for lunch for years. My go-tos are chicken noodle and Italian wedding.
I wouldn't say I'm a person who has many regrets, but one thing I rue to this day is not asking for a recipe (or even a name) for a sort of soup my parents' former friend once made and gave to us when I was about nine. I was a picky eater as a child (thanks, autism) and was initially apprehensive about the stuff; I didn't want to realize I couldn't handle eating it and be rude (or hungry, frankly,) but when I took a bite, I remarked it was the best soup I'd ever eaten. Twelve years have passed, and it's still the best soup I've ever eaten, despite my palate having been vastly expanded.
So to sum things up, "Soup?" "Yes."

In addition to its taste and health benefits, I have to appreciate honey for being the one food you can dig out of your pantry after God-knows-how-many years, see that its texture is entirely changed, still go, “Yep, that’s good enough,” eat, and actually not get sick from.
