What Are We Missing?
Hello! I am back once aging to talk about Hello Puppets. I love this game to death. The story is amazing, and has some excellent world building. But it feels like we are missing a lot of things. Like I mentioned in my last post. We really didn't get to see a lot about Nick. All we really got about him was the poster in the beginning, his room while we were looking for the pin, and what me and other people guess to be his shadow at one point in the game. Why is Nick left out? Why is it that people only talk about him? Why not show instead of tell? It would have been interesting to see how he interact with the cast. Especially Riley, it said on his poster that they get on each others nerves all the time. So why not show him at all? And the same goes for Daisy, she as well had a big build up. When I read her poster for the first time, I though she would be chasing us around the studio, she got the same treatment as Nick! And no appearance from her at all! So why put these characters to the side and focus on the main two? It feels like we are missing something here, but what? I feel like there is just so much there, right under the surface. But we can't reach it. Unless we're not looking in the right places. The game still has a small fandom at the time I am writing this. And only a handful of youtubers have played this game. I think there is more secrets to discover in this game. People are just not looking in the right places. For example, I was watching 8-bit Ryan's playthrough of Hello Puppets when I notice something. After he completed Riley's flag test, he found another tape in the bathroom. I notice there was a TV and right under it there was a keypad that he couldn't interact with, but right next to it was a button that he could press. From what I can tell nothing happened when he did. This is a very odd place to put a button especially one that doesn't do anything. Which make it even more suspicious to me. Think about it, every button in the game serves a purpose, even when it seems like it didn't do anything. They all active something, like the button in the meat locker. It may seem like we did a bad thing at first, but it turned out to be the right thing to do. And the button in Daisy's room, again another button that seams like it doesn't do anything and a bad move to make. But as soon when we turn around we find Owens dead body in the chair behind us. In this game every button has a purpose, even if it seems like it doesn't. This game likes to trick us and give us a false sense for things then turn it on us. So what does that button on the TV do? Is there more we're suppose to find? What secrets does this game have for us? Unfortunately we don't know yet. Not many people have explore the game enough to find anything. There is so much to this game and I love it. I hope the creators of Hello Puppets have more in store for this world. This is something I don't want to let go quite yet. Until next time, Shipy

picking up zevran right after alistair finally gets a good flirt line in is so brutal. poor boy
bg3 is such a good game because it lets me create a fucked up little gnome jester that can go around annoying powerful people with 3 absolutely lethal companions standing behind me ready to bail me out of the situations i get myself in.
10/10 game design
What The Sonic Franchise Does That's Great and Why You Don't Notice It First As A Kid.
You know when I go back and watch some old playthroughs of Sonic games, I noticed that Sonic the Hedgehog is surprisingly mature for its time. Not so much that kids can't enjoy, but it's something you don't notice until you get older, you know?
In the early days, The Sonic Franchise actually dealt with some important topics and conveyed a lot of really good messages. Of course, there's the obvious Nature vs Industrialism, which is a really good topic to get awareness to. But it also dealt with very deep themes and topics that you don't realize they did until you got older.
For example, Sonic games and shows conveyed and actually showed trauma, death, and grief. In Sonic 2, if you fail to get all the Chaos emeralds, it turns out, Eggman KILLS Tails. It's not shown until the end, but the somber way Sonic turns to the stars and the Tails constellation is shown, tells us ALL we need to know.
Then there's Sonic Adventure 2, a game that features Shadow the Hedgehog, a creation made for a child he grew close to and loved like a sister until she died RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM, SAVING HIS LIFE AS SHE DID. She tells Shadow to protect and fight for the world she never got to go to. This game isn't just a simple action game or a simple introduction to a soon-to-be ruined character (I'm so sorry Shadow...), it actually explores grief and the ways we can overcome it.
Not only that, but Tail's arc in Sonic Adventure is also to be mentioned. This kid was bullied for his extra Tail (to which some people can relate, not just for bullying, but being outcasted due to a deformity you never asked for), but ultimately grew proud of it, which again can inspire so many who relate to his issues. Not only that, but Sega manages to kill two birds with one stone, while Tails made a friend Sonic, he became dependent on him. When realizing this, Tails actively becomes independent, mainly from the fact that he owes Sonic SO MUCH and can't afford to rely on him for EVERYTHING. He fights against Eggman and saves Station Square ALL ON HIS OWN. This ties into the reality of every kid becoming an independent adult ready to face the world.
Unlike other games made in that time, where it's all simple action and colorful fun, Sonic had this...this...
How do I explain it?
Okay, look at it this way, in every early Sonic game and show there was this hidden walnut of maturity, that when found and cracked at the right time would show you all of the themes and messages of things you might've gone through during or when you got older and envelops you, showing you that you are strong, telling you that you're not alone; and that realization made me LOVE this franchise even MORE.
I think part of the downfall of this Franchise was how Sega brushed their trauma and development aside, and when they did include it, it was half-assed instead of a meaningful exploration. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE comedic shows like Sonic Boom, but I just miss that DAMN walnut (XD), you know?
Then Sonic Frontiers came out. And it was as if I was taking a breath of air after being smothered, that subtle but deep display of maturity was BACK. The exploration of these characters, and the delicate but STRONG handling of death and grief, I missed so much.
Then there was Sonic Prime, and my heart was EXPLODING with happiness. The way they handle Nine's trauma at being abused so elegantly, the subtle Amy under Rusty Rose (a ROBOTICED AMY), hell even the old Nature vs Industrialism is back!
This right here is what makes Sonic great, and I'm so happy they brought it back!

Got into Dead By Daylight, and i love it so far! I got to destroy the pallettes and the survivors i played with were so nice(ignoring the ones who aimed a flashlight at my eyes but its so cool??) And two at the end gave me a 'hug'?? And aww i love it so much! Huntress is also so cool looking, i love her design already! Im on Switch with crossplay so if you ever see a Huntress with the player as Happy thats me! Hope you DBD players continue to have lots of fun!
