Just A Rant - Tumblr Posts
Okay…I wanted to share something for some time now INVOLVING Jedi Survivor when they first dropped the teaser trailer…I could’ve shared this then but I didn’t have Tumblr at the time...
Of course, I see Cal alive and well and he is my age today in the game…next thing y’know he’ll be near his 30s…maybe I may be near that age when the next game comes out! Idk…but then we see the hands of this person sustained in water (Bacta)…and…of course it’s now discovered it was Dagan…but I first saw him and idk WHAT my brain was thinking at the time…but I literally thought it was woman! A woman Cal was trying to save…I guess Merrin didn’t make the list or something…lmao…Idk, I know…the hair and how womanly the hands looked, that was my first impression…
But then I saw the trailer again to clarify and got a glimpse of the chest…it was falt…so I’m like, “Oh! It’s a guy! …but who’s this man?”…Later they finally introduced him as Dagan and NOBODY could ever prepare me for what he did to me…made me fall for him within an INSTANT! And Cal! He was ever so handsome in this game, I could’ve sworn I felt my heart flutter twice upon watching BOTH them become allies and fight together…but no…Dagan turned out to be the villain…and I HATE…JUST HATE…they killed him off…now I’m like, “Who am I supposed to geek over now? There’s Cal but…he’s not enough!”…I swore I almost lost my mind that day....
Sorry, there I go ranting again…I seriously don’t know what I was thinking that day…I must’ve been tired or something...
I just realized that what makes IwaOi stories different is that they basically never have a 'falling in love' period because they already are in love. IwaOi ffs aren't about them falling in love, they're about them getting together, or just coping (maybe badly) with their feelings for the other.
I'm never, ever, getting over the fact that they brought Klaroline back for the last season of The Originals, especially the way they did.
The way Klaus was showing her New Orleans and was spending time with Care the same day he was gonna die was just so ooc, both for him and her. That man loved his family, he was obssesed with them, and absolutely doted on his daughter, literally the most important thing/person in his life, and the fact that instead of being with her and his siblings on his last moments he chose to fuck around with his one night stand it's literally the biggest form of fan service (especially considering they brought Candice because I think the viewers were getting low).
I wouldn't have minded them if they decided to stay as friends, because that's what their whole dynamic in TO suggested (he was literally thinking of Cami, and she still had Stefan's ring), because I actually liked them that way; they both madurated (Klaus in his own way, but still) but then the writers decided to turn around, have them kiss and have Caroline say she will never forget him when she literally said she never felt safe with him.
It's not Klaroline (or the shippers) I have a problem with, it’s the fact that the writers were so adamant in shoving them down our throats.
Again, if Klaus somehow survived and let Elijah kill himself in order to contain The Hollow (which is so unlikely, Klaus would not just let his brother die and we all know it), and Klaroline was made endgame, it’s the way they should have been made endgame, and it's certainly not the way the show handled them. And I doubt they had stayed long as a couple, Rebekah hated her and I doubt Caroline would have been able to support the Mikaelson lifestyle (and tbh I don't think Kol or either Freya would have liked her, but that's my opinion).
And don't even let me get started on the fact that while Hayley was kidnapped they were fucking flirting (soo ooc, again).
Casually pouring gin, island mixer, soda, and lots of ice into the thermos mug. Then proceed to blow before taking each sip, acting like drinking a hot coffee by the window.
Today isn't my day.
Me, seeing the shit way kff people treat dazai kinnies: sighs and melts into a puddle
Me, being a dazai kin in the fictionkin sense (depending on the day), groaning when people try to dictate how people act because they kin a character
Me, being a dazai kin staring at how people shit on dazai kff kinnies for being mentally ill and seeking help and community with dull eyes.
An overwritten essay on why Cuphead is the best baby boi and underrated
Alright, so I love The Cuphead Show! It is one of the only good children's cartoons I genuinely enjoy because of how good it is. There are so many wacky and loveable characters on the no-so-normal-at-all Inkwell Isles. You can see fucking walking hamburgers and sandwiches, like, what the hell is this place?
Nonetheless, there are several titles given to many characters. Bon Bon is Crazy Queen, Briney is Pirate Simp, and Cala Maria is still the hottest of queens (that hasn't changed).
However, throughout multiple media, there is one title only given to those who are so small and cute you just want to protect them because they can't protect themselves:
The title of Best Boi.
Now I know all of you are probably saying who you think deserves this title. But I know who it is already. The truest of best bois:

Cuphead.
Now before you start shouting and yelling at my "stupid and untrue" (but totally correct) decision. Some of you are saying Mugman is, but I mean come on we all know that Mugman is the MVP, the crazy going-to-be-a-serial-killer, failed straight man (both in tropes and literally), of the show.
Now I have my reasons for this post. And I'm going to lay them down. So ladies and gentlemen, or fucking literally spaghetti and sandwiches, here are my many reasons why Cuphead is the best boi of this show.
So look my first reason is the fact that this kid is legit the only SANE one in the ENTIRE show. Like Elder Kettle is a fucking pyromaniac who tried to kill his grandkids on several occasions, and Mugman...which...

Jesus this mug needs some fucking therapy or anger management lessons.
And come on his friend is still a con artist (I still love her tho), the devil is the devil, Dice is fashionably vain and has an I want to be appreciated by my gay boss complex, and henchmen is...actually henchmen is cool, being the REAL straight man, but other than these two the other characters have fucking problems.
All this kid really did was neglect his chores to have fun and that's it (I know some of you are talking about the CRAPPY Lost in the Woods episode but I'll get to that). Unlike the other characters, he NEVER ONCE expressed any malice, aggression, or sadism towards ANYONE or anything. I know you all are saying henchmen didn't have that either but I'll talk about him later.
Going back to this, let me remind all of you that Cuphead is a CHILD, and so is Mugman but, he's too gone to be saved let's be real. This cup is a child, so of course, he's gonna be a brat sometimes. And even I roll my eyes when he does something. But I mean we were all little shits back then, that's a FACT.
Another thing, he's not a pushover. He WILL call people out or stand up to people who were being jerks, and that's actually one of the traits I like that he has. In most kids' shows, the protagonist is overly nice, shy, or overconfident, and just ORDINARY and BORING. In The Cuphead Show, Cuphead is NOT that. He's a troublemaking brat who constantly forgets to look where he leaps, but there is SO MUCH MORE to him than just that.
What I can appreciate about this show is that these characters show more and more depth as the show goes on (which is why this show needs to be renewed!). And the plot twists are actually good.
Cuphead is the troublemaker trope. He is a mischievous brat, but now that I rewatch this show he acts exactly like what he is, a KID. Not to mention the fact that there is more to him than meets the eye. He is scared of the Devil, not because his SOUL is in danger, but because this is a deity that can take away everyone he loves. He is surprisingly humble, accepting that he lost on Dice's show, and doesn't call himself a hero not ONCE, even after he freed souls from damnation from the devil. He can be cocky, but he doesn't ever rub these successes on ANYONE, not even the Devil, who he struck with his own pitchfork.
He has hidden talents, being able to play the piano like a fucking G and being able to be smart at certain things, like sparking back a show like he did for Dice (which was honestly so fucking nice of him, even after this guy from his perspective rigged his show, he still remained a huge fan of him). He can be dumb at times, but most of the time, that stupidity is more childish naivety when you look back on it (the only exception is when he couldn't guess simple questions on Dice's show).
He can have some self-control, being able to refuse Bon Bon's bitch castle. He was willing to give Chalice (who left him and his brother in jail) the benefit of the doubt and still considered her his friend, only getting mad at her when she reveals she lied about a fucking MOB (I'd be mad too).
Not to mention, he is a pretty brave kid. He WILLINGLY went into hell to get his brother back, I honestly DO NOT KNOW WHY PEOPLE DON'T TALK ABOUT THIS MOMENT MORE and faced the Devil. He won, also freeing the captive souls. People need to comment on this moment more because it is awesome. And going back in season 2, he demanded the ghosts to release Chalice when she was stuck in a painting. So, he can be a coward, but when it comes to those he cares about, he toughens up.
Another thing is that he can be a total sweetie. He's not as polite as his brother, but he is a bit of a sweetheart. He constantly comforts Mugman and encourages his brother's confidence, he doesn't blame or hate Chalice even when she ditched them to the stony lonesome, he isn't really that antagonistic towards the Devil as Big D is to him, he frees the souls, he helps king dice, in the Christmas special he admits he hasn't been perfectly good stating it's hard to stay good all the time (which is understandable), just being grateful for Santa (the devil) showing up and being able to meet him, even apologizing for "misjudging" the Baronness (even though he was totally right), and (other than that bitch Jimmy) never really showed any grudges toward anyone.
Another is that he shows remorse and takes responsibility for his actions. Even when that psychopath Bowlboy was planning a double suicide (pretty much what happened in a nutshell), and he got out of it, he still showed concern for the crazy bastard when he got launched off in a rocket.
The other thing is that he is a very fun protagonist, and he actually makes things happen. Like, no offense I love Mugman, but if it was just him, all we'd see is just him doing boring chores and miaming ice cream men.
...actually, I'd be down to see that, but I like Cuphead's optimism and hot-headed self-balancing out Mugman's pessimism and...hot-headedness...
The last thing is that...

He's adorable! They did well with his design. A simple kid with simple clothes who likes risk and adventure, but has childish charm and cuteness. He's small, got those big cocky eyes, and has optimism and an innocent attitude that's undeniably endearing. He can be annoying, but his happy personality and tendency to look on the bright side of things make you just want to hug and squeeze him. Especially when he's sad. Because he doesn't get sad or cry often, it hurts when he does cry or make this face that'll break anyone's heart:

I'm sad now.
I wanna hug this sad boi.
Now, I know all of you are saying that Henchmen is the best boi, but not really, he's adorable and I love him. It's just the fact that he isn't hateful or sadistic, but he doesn't really do much about it. He does tell the devil that blowing up annoying ass elves is not something Santa would do. or something, and he has a bet with the devil (that he deserved to win). But that's really about it. He isn't really miserable or sad, so you don't want to hug and squeeze him.
Again, I LOVE henchmen, I just haven't really wanted to give him a big hug because I don't want him to be sad. He's a cute character, but not really one that you feel sad for. And that's good, I never want to see him sad.
Now, ALL of these traits that I wrote down that help explain why Cuphead is the best boi is EXACTLY why I HATE the Lost in the Woods episode because, WHERE THE HELL DID ALL OF IT GO? Mugmans is still the same, delusional, sociopath, MVP, but where the hell is Cuphead?
That's NOT my baby boi!

All in all, Thank you for taking you time to read this overwritten essay. Leave what you think in the comments or don't if you don't want to. I just wanted to write this out.
Sonic Prime Theory: On Shadow This Time!
I know, it's not Nine! I'm surprised too, but this popped into my head and I think I have an idea of why Shadow can communicate with Sonic and can't go into the worlds.

Remember when Sonic shattered the Prism, that Shadow protected himself by Chaos Controlling? The energy of the emerald while it protected Shadow it also REJECTED the power of the Prism.
This might be why Shadow can't enter the other worlds because he has an emerald that rejects its effects of it! It just doesn't allow him to, because the energy of the Prism most likely contrasts against the Chaos energy of the emerald. Also, remember how the power of the Chaos emerald affects the user of it? Yeah.
In the context of Shadow being able to communicate with Sonic, again it might have to do with the emerald.

Shadow might have also been able to see what happens if Sonic shatters the Prism also because he had the emerald in his possession.
Although why he was looking for it is beyond me. He does use it constantly in any adaptation of Sonic with him in it though so, there's that possible reason that he just searches for it because he wants to teleport and shit (and...I'd honestly do the same thing ngl).
But it saved Shadow from being affected by the Prism so it was worth it.
Also, the fact that Chaos emeralds show up when they're needed might explain why it was in a random rock.
Also apparently Chaos emerald can also "sense" people's thoughts. Shadow wanted to communicate with Sonic, and Sonic was the only one other than him that wasn't affected by the Prism (at least from what I can tell).
Shadow didn't want to be affected by the Prism shattering so the emerald protected him and itself.
Shadow however didn't seem to want to know the future, but the emerald might have warned him what was about to happen so he could stop it.
The reason why Shadow wasn't affected by the Prism might also be the reason why he can't do anything in the void, due to the different worlds being created by pieces of the prism, might be why he can communicate with Sonic (it also might be because Sonic can also harness the Chaos energy), and it saved him because it was trying to warn him.
Idk, 's just a random theory but it fills in all the holes in my opinion. It's also better than just being "ShaDoW waS JuSt TheRe FoR The FaNs aNd The PloT". He's there for a reason, and that's why I love his depiction in Prime, there's a legitimate reason why he does things other than him just being a plot device and an angry edge lord.
Why he punched Sonic in the beginning? 1. Sonic doesn't even listen to his friends, what would make him listen to his rival? 2. Shadow quite literally has to knock sense into Sonic to make him stop and 3. let's all face it, Shadow's not the best at communicating, especially with someone as hyperactive and bad at listening as Sonic.
Why he tries to communicate with Sonic? Sonic is the only one he can communicate with, not to mention, Sonic broke the world.
They put so much more purpose and depth into him and I LOVE it!
What The Sonic Franchise Does That's Great and Why You Don't Notice It First As A Kid.
You know when I go back and watch some old playthroughs of Sonic games, I noticed that Sonic the Hedgehog is surprisingly mature for its time. Not so much that kids can't enjoy, but it's something you don't notice until you get older, you know?
In the early days, The Sonic Franchise actually dealt with some important topics and conveyed a lot of really good messages. Of course, there's the obvious Nature vs Industrialism, which is a really good topic to get awareness to. But it also dealt with very deep themes and topics that you don't realize they did until you got older.
For example, Sonic games and shows conveyed and actually showed trauma, death, and grief. In Sonic 2, if you fail to get all the Chaos emeralds, it turns out, Eggman KILLS Tails. It's not shown until the end, but the somber way Sonic turns to the stars and the Tails constellation is shown, tells us ALL we need to know.
Then there's Sonic Adventure 2, a game that features Shadow the Hedgehog, a creation made for a child he grew close to and loved like a sister until she died RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM, SAVING HIS LIFE AS SHE DID. She tells Shadow to protect and fight for the world she never got to go to. This game isn't just a simple action game or a simple introduction to a soon-to-be ruined character (I'm so sorry Shadow...), it actually explores grief and the ways we can overcome it.
Not only that, but Tail's arc in Sonic Adventure is also to be mentioned. This kid was bullied for his extra Tail (to which some people can relate, not just for bullying, but being outcasted due to a deformity you never asked for), but ultimately grew proud of it, which again can inspire so many who relate to his issues. Not only that, but Sega manages to kill two birds with one stone, while Tails made a friend Sonic, he became dependent on him. When realizing this, Tails actively becomes independent, mainly from the fact that he owes Sonic SO MUCH and can't afford to rely on him for EVERYTHING. He fights against Eggman and saves Station Square ALL ON HIS OWN. This ties into the reality of every kid becoming an independent adult ready to face the world.
Unlike other games made in that time, where it's all simple action and colorful fun, Sonic had this...this...
How do I explain it?
Okay, look at it this way, in every early Sonic game and show there was this hidden walnut of maturity, that when found and cracked at the right time would show you all of the themes and messages of things you might've gone through during or when you got older and envelops you, showing you that you are strong, telling you that you're not alone; and that realization made me LOVE this franchise even MORE.
I think part of the downfall of this Franchise was how Sega brushed their trauma and development aside, and when they did include it, it was half-assed instead of a meaningful exploration. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE comedic shows like Sonic Boom, but I just miss that DAMN walnut (XD), you know?
Then Sonic Frontiers came out. And it was as if I was taking a breath of air after being smothered, that subtle but deep display of maturity was BACK. The exploration of these characters, and the delicate but STRONG handling of death and grief, I missed so much.
Then there was Sonic Prime, and my heart was EXPLODING with happiness. The way they handle Nine's trauma at being abused so elegantly, the subtle Amy under Rusty Rose (a ROBOTICED AMY), hell even the old Nature vs Industrialism is back!
This right here is what makes Sonic great, and I'm so happy they brought it back!
i finished MAG 200 yesterday so i just wanted to share some thoughts about it
i'll start from afar
about a year ago i started reading mo dao zu shi manhua which i didn't particularly like as it chopped off so much of the story that it was an actual challenge to understand what the hell was going on. long story short, i read the arc of a truly tragic death of one of the characters which (because of the terrible writing and pacing of the comic) had no impact on me whatsoever: i simply didn't have the time to get attached to the characters. i then proceeded to dump the manhwa in favour of the novel. when again it came to the death scene i already loved the character but due to knowing how he will end up i couldn't make myself cry.
sometime before going into season 5 of tma i accidentally found fanart of Jon and Martin in the Panopticon and that's how i learned that they both die in the end (if they actually did die). since then i dreaded the ending because 1. i didn't love the prospect of inflicting some more ✨emotional pain✨ on myself and 2. i was genuinely afraid that it's going to be the mdzs situation all over again
when i finally got to listen to MAG 200 and it got to That Part i literally started shaking and crying. i still think that if i never knew the spoilers it would've had a stronger reaction on me but,,, Jonny Sims is such a good writer and this is such a good podcast that it made me tear up even when i knew perfectly well what is to happen. i know this is literally my first and at the moment only podcast but it's my favourite ever and you can fight me about it
I dont read comments on videos I like
i don't know if anyone else has this issue but I used to casually scroll through the comments if things I liked, because yknow I like seeing people's options, timestamps of stuff that was cool ect.
But yknow there's always that one person if you scroll down far enough
"So and So has such an annoying voice"
"This plot beat was predictable and dumb"
"I don't like the story they're telling"
"I used to like this but [minor, preferance based thing] really ruined it for me 😒"
"HOW DID THEY NOT NOTICE IT IT WAS SO OBVIOUS UGSJSHDHKSJS JUST [something that wasn't obvious without context the people didn't have]"
And then my brain goes "Actually they're right, this thing sucks" even when I don't agree with the negativity, and then I have to wait for my brain to forget about the negative comment to enjoy the thing again
So please remember to tell people how much you enjoy stuff they make, and if you don't have anything nice or constructive to say, the only thing you're doing is bringing the mood down!
I hate it when people mock women’s giggles. like. we’re fucking laughing. can you let us experience any joy??
Which is better, TikTok or Tumblr?
I'd say Tumblr, less toxicity.
TikTok has too many problems tbh
(Lord save the beginner artists who post art there)
I think I figured it out
People get upset when then see people on Facebook that they want to be friends with having a good time without them. All they want to do is be friends with said person and do things with them. But they are concerned about talking to them due to a bad or foggy history between them, or too afraid to create one. But History can be re-written, and maybe we misjudge them as much as they do us.
tw fatshaming , fatphobia
being fatshamed by my family for being slightly overweight hurts so bad..and its worse hearing them (especially my mother) talk about fat people in such a demonising way 😕 my mom goes to the gym and sees fat girls trying to lose weight and she comes home and just laughs at them?? makes fun of them with my brother?? laughs at how even the fat girls themselves are ashamed of themselves?? its so mean like other ppls bodies have nothing to do with u and the girls at the gym are already working hard so whats the point in belittling them..
the fact that NO ONE in my class or tuition center say such mean things abt anyones weight ever even thought its kinda the place where bullying and stuff can happen
idk i shouldnt have expected better from my family but it hurts
