Well, Rose/Thorn had both enhanced speed (albeit not speedster level) and chlorokinesis…kinda laughing at the idea of everyone assuming Todd is either Jay’s kid (or the Shade’s) instead of Alan for a bit, so my vote is for that option
Fr though, this always bugged me- especially since Jen hardly even gets to USE her plant powers
Unpopular JSA fandom opinion: If Jen got plant powers because of their mom Todd should also get something powers because of their mom. Jen is always the universe's favorite and it is a bit unfair...

Ikr????!! Fixating on the kids for a minute:
Setting aside parent- child relationships where they are contextually strained for in- universe reasons (Alan meeting the twins as adults, Carter and Hector growing distant in the wake of Shayera’s death, etc.) . . . You can’t tell me the golden-age version of the JSA wouldn’t be SOO invested in their kids’ safety and success- look at Dinah! Sure, they’re hands off once she’s grown, but they also obsessed over her training and relentlessly fussed in most media! Heck, look at younger heroes that AREN’T their literal children- Barry and freaking SYLVESTER???
…anyway, that sort of writing to just handwave the next gen’s independence is a HUGE pet peeve 😅
I DO think it would be so funny to retcon/rewrite that so that like. The crotchety old folk spent the majority of Infinity Inc spying on the ‘kids’ out of concern lmao. Fun little family drama reveal
I think my ideal JSA characterisation is like, mean but in a "take no shit" kinda way. They're Justified Assholes (most of the time, of course they'll lose their temper every now and again). So, I guess pessimistic takes where they can't fucking communicate with each other and seem to resent each other annoy me.
