Jacerys Targaryen - Tumblr Posts
Goodbye Princess Rheanys Targaryen, rider of Meleys, the Red Queen, daughter of Prince Aemon Targaryen and Lady Jocelyn Baratheon, wife of Lord Corlys Velaryon, mother to Laena and Laenor Velaryon, and grandmother to Baela, Rhaena, Jacerys, Lucerys and Joffrey. You were fearless and loyal and you died a dragonriders death, fighting to give your niece what had been denied to you. You lost both your children, just weeks apart, and yet you refused to let it break you. You were bonded to Meleys for over 40 years. You loved each other and you died together. We will miss you Rheanys, Queen Who Never Was, and Queen Who Should Have Been.

I've seen a lot of people calling Rhaenyra a bad mother for letting bastards claim dragon even though it weakens her son's claim, and even saying that it's her fault for not having children with Laenor and she's stupid to not consider how it affects her claim to the throne.
First of all, it is completely unfair to blame Rhaenyra for having bastards. Her husband was gay. Their situation isn't her fault or Laenor's, it's just a very bad situation. Rhaenyra even says that they tried to concieve a child, but it didn't work, and "there was no joy." I swear, some people would rather she force her gay husband to have sex with her, which would not only be unpleasant for both of them, but probably wouldn't result in children anyway. I've also seen people say that she could hafe just not had children, but that really wasn't an option. In a society like Westeros, a married woman without children would have been considered to be barren, and would be looked down upon by the court. This would have seriously damaged her reputation and claim to the throne. Admitidly, having three bastard sons also damaged her reputation, but with her father supporting her, and Laenor claiming them as his, it would be much harder to openly question Rhaenyra or her sons. Also, with all three of her sons, there was a chance they would favor her over Harwin and help dispel rumors of their bastardy. Obviously, none of them did, but there really isn't anything Rhaenyra could do about that. With the crown protection her and her children, no one could actually do anything, save for spread rumors, and with Rhaenyra next in line to inherit, I think she assumed she'd be able to protect her sons after her fathers death. Obviously the fact that she is a woman and has three bastards would cause problems with her ascension, but it's much easier to deny that her sons are bastards than it would have been to deny that she was barren, had she chosen not to have children.
Now onto the dragonseeds. Rhaenyra definitly knows the danger of putting Targaryen bastards on dragons, but at this point she doesn't have another option. She knows that it threatens Jace and Joffrey's legitimacy, but she needs dragonriders if she is to win the throne. It is definitly valid for Jace to feel like she is undermining him and his claim, but Rhaenyra is also right in that, without the dragonseeds, he won't have a claim at all. Like it or not, the dragonseeds are a crucial part of the war. The dragonseeds put Rhaenyra in a very vulnerable position: either use them and risk undermining her sons, or don't use them and try to face Vhagar with only Syrax or Caraxes. In the end, she chooses the option that would, hopefully, leave her with a claim to defend, and the power of the crown to protect her sons with. It’s a very difficult decision to make, but Rhaenyra makes the choice that seems most logical to her.

THIS IS SOO JACE!! MAMA'S BOY WHO STUDIES LITERATURE AND LINGUISTICS!? SIGN ME UP FOR MORE 🙂↕️🫡
modern!jace thoughts ( wc. 600-ish )
i have a jace parasite living in my brain <3 i’m cooking up a part two

jacaerys who studies literature and linguistics at university — on the pre-law track. he’s such a diligent student, a frequenter of libraries and study rooms. ( but he doesn’t really have to try that hard, it comes easy, it’s aggravating )
he lives in the nicest dorm on campus, probably private housing.
jacaerys who wears glasses :3 but only when he must, makes an effort to put contacts in every day. but some days are just glasses days. ( they’re the sliver squoval wire framed ones )
jacaerys who prioritizes hygiene, he’s so clean. (i’m a jon girl at heart, i can acknowledge that he is not squeaky clean. jace is squeaky clean) jace has a skincare routine and a haircare routine. he’s using olaplex and cerave and that super expensive moisturizer. he knows how to defuse and gel cast his curls, he’ll happily do yours too! i firmly believe he uses an electric toothbrush AND HE TAKES CARE OF HIS NAILS
jacaerys who attended a private school until university, and started playing competitive football ( ⚽️ ) at age 10. he plays in college too, but he’s not as serious about it.
lucerys attends the same private school and plays for the same team, so jace practices with him ( it usually ends with a physical altercation, think the sword fight scene ‘what. was. THAT?’ )
jacaerys who likes animals, and LOVES his dog. vermax lives at home while he is off at school, but when jace gets a place of his own the dog will come with. he walks him every morning and evening and takes him for runs most days over the summer. vermax sleeps in jace’s bed, and he takes up a good portion.
jacaerys who is SO oldest daughter coded. he’s driving his siblings around. taking joffrey to pediatrician appointments and picking him up from school. going to all of luke’s football games and rhaena’s violin concerts.
chronic over achiever, he has to be his mothers favorite daughter- what, who said that?
mama’s boy jacaerys who looks up to her more than anyone. he’s bragging her up to anyone who will listen: in his gender and women’s studies class like, “my mom is a ceo! 🙋” “my mom is married to a woman! 🙋”
he would defend his mother’s name with his life. he’s getting into fist fights at social events, ryan atwood style. ( no he’s not, but he really wants to )
jacaerys who can be mean. he doesn’t mean to be, he doesn’t want to be — he hates it. but the world he grew up in was exclusive, and cliquey, and competitive.
he’s good at controlling it, thinking before he speaks. because he’s not a mean person. he’s good, and kind, and gentle. but, it comes to the surface when he goes into defense mode.
he made luke cry once, and started journaling to channel his emotions.
english/history person jacaerys. he’s hopeless at helping his brothers with their math homework.
when his mother married his late grandfather’s former wife he started reading lesbian theory to cope. and he liked it! he borrows baela’s feminist theory books, they bookclub.
jacaerys who, unfortunately, does participate in performative reading. omg nooo don’t come talk to me while i’m reading didion and wearing pearls and mewing 🧏
jacaerys who has a really expensive digital camera and also a really expensive film camera. he likes to post his pictures on his instagram ( no one cares )
all of his social media accounts are private because he doesn’t want to be the internet’s next eligible bachelor.
jacaerys who cries when he’s frustrated.
jacaerys who tolerates his step-brothers, but not very well or with much enjoyment. he has way more in common with alicent than he’d like to admit ( quintessential horrifying step-child experience of being mistaken for your step-parents biological child ) he likes helaena, though! they’re kind of bestie
he separates puzzle pieces by colour for her and looks at all of her art and knows all of her favorite bugs. ( he’s always wanted a sister )
jacaerys who is a fantastic boyfriend ( i’ll get into this later )
Is it sad that I just thought maybe Jacerys kept his hair short and straight so that no one saw that resemblance between him and harwin?? I know its most likely not but it's sad to think that.
Faerie!Reader x Targareyn Family
• Reader and Heleana being born twins, reader being the younger
• Heleana being born a dragon dreamer and reader being born a fae dragon
• Being born more fae than dragon, meaning your fire burns bright but not as hot
• Heleana not liking to be touched but never not holding reader
"My sweet girl, let your sister eat. She will not go anywhere, I promise."
"She will die without love, mother."
Alicent sighed, Heleana always said the same thing when her twin sister was brought up. As a mother she loved how close her daughters were to one another. As her children's protector she wanted them to be able live without the other before they are force to leave each other.
• Aegon not understanding his sister's but being their secret protector
Aegon couldn't sleep. Those little girls were evil he was sure of it. Heleana had accidentally scared a young girl with her bugs. Though Heleana did not know what she had done, she apologized with reader's help. Instead the girl took to name calling and picking on his sisters. Even going as far as to desuede a young boy from approaching the younger twin. Aegon stopped his pacing. He knew just how to get back at the unruly girl. The next morrow Aegon stood proudly as the rude young girl was crying over her wine covered gown. He had even convinced her to drink a glass or two before her ruined her gown. Thus lead to her parents scolding her for indulging in her cups.
• Aemond being dutiful to his sisters, walking them to and from studies and activities, walking through doors first so as to combat an attack, pulling out their chairs so they can sit comfortably
• Otto finally separating the twins when they each start their monthly blood
• Alicent, Aegon, and Aemond having to endure the heartbreaking cries from the twins
• Fae reader having such a small dragon they are considered without a dragon
Viserys feeling bad for his daughter as she blissfully trained with her tiny dragon. He could hear Otto's disapproval in his daughter, mumbling to his wife causing her to breath heavy. Viserys shakes his head to dislodge the negative thought. He was here to watch his children and there dragons. Aegon and Aemond spoke Valaryen with ease and perfect accent. Each word that was spoken clearly was given praise by his youngest daughter. She would give praise along with the chirps and purrs of her little dragon. The twins ended up sitting age snuggling with their dragons as the boys trained. Viserys often called his youngest daughter 'Faerie Targareyn' he thought it suited her very well. Not to mention how well she fit into the deceptions of his dreams. Dreams that started when he first became king. Dreams about the most enchanting creature, one who can mend broken thread, a creature who calm raging beasts, but also devour its enemies whole. He saw that creature in reader.
• Aegon not knowing if he lusts for you or just in general loves you
• Heleana spending every moment she can with her sister
• Aemond protecting his sisters with all he has
• Viserys telling his children stories because reader asked him to
• Alicent trying to do her children's hair only to find out how picky they are
• Jace talking to reader in Valaryen, cause that how her and her sister learned
• Luce helping reader and Heleana pick flowers for there moms
• Nyra seeing the dragon blood in reader therfore thanking the gods that Hightower blood wasn't too strong in her half siblings
• Deamon enjoyed his time feeding the dragons with reader, he found it pleasing to know that a gentle creature like her didn't flinch nor cry knowing another being had to die for another
• Otto being the only person who did not like reader, and viscera
Alicent struggled to carry reader as she hung limply in her arms.
"I don't understand you, my fae. It's just your grandfather."
"The ugly evil wasp does not help the rose grow."
"My sweet girl that does not help mum."
"It will." Heleana skipped ahead of her mother to join Luce. Alicent knew she shouldn't have mentioned her father. She looked down at her limp daughter know the scolding she will get for raising such a spoiled girl.
"If I didn't know better I'd say my little fae has died in my arms." Without getting a reaction Alicent leans on the wall and adjusts her grip. With a huff she begins tickling her daughter. Two breaths pass before her light but loud laughter fills the hall.
"Look at this a miracle! My little fae is alive and well." Alicent laughs with her daughter to they both need breath.
