With winter came along a huge advantage : people would tend to stay indoors way more than usual. You absolutely loved that, not that you had necessarily something against being outside, though, you’d rather spend your day inside the house if you had the chance to. It was way warmer, less troublesome, and soooo much more comfy !

So when your girlfriend kissed your forehead this morning, warning you she was going to leave the house for a little while and would come back before lunch, you didn’t think much of it. Drifting back to sleep only after a few minutes, you were grateful she hadn’t insisted in taking you outside in that strong wind

Resting for a few more hours, you started opening your eyes as you smelled something inside the house. You weren’t sure what it could be, but your stomach was sure growling as your nose felt that sweet scent. Forcing yourself out of bed, you grabbed one of Hyunjin’s shirt and decided that your outfit composed of your girlfriend’s top and cute shorts you slept with was decent enough. Coming downstairs, you found your girlfriend humming in the kitchen. Surprising her by coming behind, you gave her a hug. As she didn’t expect it, she turned around in disbelief, pouting a little. Wondering what was wrong in your gesture, you asked what was bothering her, a brow raised. Giggling a little, she explained to you that she was trying to bake you a surprise, as she expected you to be asleep. Though, since you were already up, she offered you to join her, which you obviously accepted!

After washing your hands, you looked at the recipe she was showing you. Still half asleep, you nodded, pretending you had understood any words it said. It didn’t really matter if the cake would be good or not, you both just wanted to make each other feel good by spending time together. As she was preparing the batter, you got yourself a spoon, tasting the dessert a few times

“Awh baby cmon !! I need to bake the cake, I can’t let you eat it all already”, she said, taking the spoon out of your hands and grabbing one of your wrists

As you frowned and protested, she leaned in to leave a small peck on your lips, making you feel all warm. Pretending to not be affected by her action, you went to take more ingredients for her, trying to erase the blush out of your face

You came back to her eyeing you up and down. Placing the ingredients on the counter, you asked her what was that look for. Dropping her cooking tools, she came closer to you. 

“You look so pretty today; you always look so beautiful actually.” She declared

Feeling your face heat up, you closed your eyes as you felt her lips on yours one more time. Had she always been this affectionate? Probably, you were too tired to recall it, nevertheless, you were enjoying the moment

A while passed as Hyujing continued to bake, and you did your best to assist her. She was now at one of the very last steps : she was making the frosting for the cake. And god you could not stop yourself from stealing some with a new spoon you’d gotten, it was just so delicious

Catching you once more, Hyunjin put the sweet mixture on your nose, saying you looked cute that way, even if she disliked seeing you take all of her frosting away. Grinning at her, you told her you could give her a taste if she wanted. And who was she to deny you? Kissing you again as you sat down on the counter, you couldn’t feel happier

As you pulled away, you kept smiling at her, while she did the same to you. She seemed lost in your eyes, like she was daydreaming. Getting your spoon out, you used this opportunity to steal her frosting again >:)

Realizing what you had done, she decided to forbid you from entering the kitchen until she’d be done cooking. Watching her for what seemed like an eternity, you kept trying to get her attention, whining about how long she was taking and how unfair it was

Letting you back in only a few minutes after, she showed you her final product. The cake was truly a masterpiece, she had just enough frosting to finish covering it all. She insisted on that point as she told you how she had proceeded to decorate the cake. Thanking her with a peck and giggles, you asked if you could eat some, feeling hungrier than ever

Taking herself a spoon, she made you open wide and got to feed you a little bit. It tasted absolutely amazing ! Thaking her a thousand times over, you hugged her as she held you in her arms, satisfied of the time she had spent with you today

Even if her surprise had technically failed, today could not have been better !
