Kobetirka - Tumblr Posts

Let's move onto another of my OCs! This here's Cole, a diligent little Deliverybug living in a world full of bugs. He works for a company called Kobetirka, currently led by the fifth generation owner Guzatirka. All in all, it's a cozy gig... Even if he tends to deliver to the snobbier bugs around town.

Cole started out, like a lot of my recent OCs, as just a random character drawn in my mostly-daily sketchbook. As time went on, I drew him again and again, going from monochromatic to the green bug you see above.

I've made sure to keep the little text characters on his gear and packages consistent over all his art. The ones on his hat's logo spell out "Kobetirka," while those on the labels read "G'thu Kershir"—his languages' words for "Caution, fragile!"
Probably not a good thing to drop them like he did there, but eh, nobody's perfect!

Here's some drawings of Cole meeting with some other bugs, on and off duty!

This is Abda, one of the aforementioned "snobbier bugs" around town. She makes no secret her disdain for those of lesser status than her, much to Cole's dismay.

Here he is delivering a heavy delivery of milkweed for this monarch caterpillar fellow. Inspired by just how large ones we nurtured a few years ago got!

And lastly, him being very confused by a bumblebee trotting along with a leaf dragging behind him. Inspired by a bee I saw doing that same thing (without a rope, unfortunately)!

Here's Cole attempting to find a moment's rest on the workfloor. Lugging massive delivery crates around takes a lot out of you.

Behold, a snobby bug. It's probably a bit easier to tell here that Abda is based off of the Pokemon Durant. Specifically, a Durant I created as part of a roleplay with a friend.
She's deviated plenty appearance-wise from the original species, though. As well as personality-wise from the RP character she came from.

For those wondering what Cole's boss looked like (all .5 of you :P), wonder no more! Here's Guzatirka, in the flesh! His wings may not work the best anymore, but he knows his way around the mailroom—and so long as he can walk around and keep his people's spirits up, he'll work to keep Kobetirka going and the parcels flowing.
(Don't worry, he covers for his employees' medical costs.)

Pride cometh before the fall.
(Don't worry, Cole was okay. But his forklift certification was revoked.)
And a variant that doesn't have Cole's gloating in the way:

In case you're wondering what Cole's house looks like, here's a little peek!

Whenever Cole isn't moving packages around the Kobetirka warehouse, or out delivering to whatever pompous rich bug needs their valuables in sixty minutes or less, he likes to challenge himself by using the place practically like a jungle gym. A particular worrywart co-worker of his, though, is not a fan of this habit. Then again, he may need a reminder or two to not stress his body, given the Forklift Incident...
What's this co-worker's name? Well, he's tentatively named Spindle, although as I flesh this world out I'll have to figure out if it can work in its naming conventions...
Bonus, here's the clean version of this piece!

Wonder what all the buzz is about for this bee? No doubt they're one of the upper-class clientele that Kobetirka delivers to... Hopefully not as full of themself as Abda is, but you never know... (And heck, I won't know until I use them in a drawing again!)

Next character ref, ahoy! Here we have Cole, in all his smug glory. Got him with and without his gear, although the hat stays on in the side view mainly because there'd just be empty space otherwise. ...Speaking of, the hat's probably the most finicky thing in his whole design, with how it gets scrunched in the back. I might rework him to have it fit better with his antennae, but that's for another time.
