Here is a tutorial on either fully or partially removing a skin cap from a wig. Each photo has a caption. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions! – Flip the wig inside-out and find the stitches that are around the edge of the skin cap and seam rip them. Once you have have enough seams ripped you can open up the front of the skin cap. You can switch between working from the inside of the wig and outside. Whether you take it out fully or partially, you can cut out the fibers from the skin cap and make wefts from it to put back into the wig. After you’ve taken off either some or all of the skin cap (depending on your project) you’ll need to re-weft the wig. You can either glue or sew the wefts into the wig. Light-colored wigs will need more wefts so the wig cap doesn’t show through. You may also need extra wefts if you are doing a wig that requires a lot of volume. Once you’re done adding in wefts you can use heat to make sure the fiber goes in the direction you need it to. Finish styling your wig. The wig being used is a Hera by @epiccosplaywigs in white.
