the ‘normal everyday school-aged kids with monumental world-saving burdens’ trope is amazing and I hope it never dies because it beautifully illustrates the stressors that exist in adolescent and young adults’ lives and how important it is to recognize other peoples’ battles even if they aren’t the same as your own because everyone reacts differently to academic schedules and the pressures of maintaining a job alongside getting a worthwhile education simultaneously. the solidarity exchanged between the people who share the same struggles—akin to the characters of mismatched social backgrounds in the tight-knit, unlikely ‘framilies’ in works that fit this trope—is often one of the most powerful bonds of friendship in the modern age. just my two cents.
(Day 20/? of catch up posting) uhhh so I don’t remember what exactly inspired this fusion of Ladybug and Chat Noir but I like mixing the colors and parts of the costumes together so
(I’m not super proud of it but I put a lot of time into it so I figured I should post it anyways)
(And don’t ask why the hair looks so weird cause even I don’t know why and I’m the one who drew it lol)

A redraw of the Ladybug and Black Cat Miraculouses. Top: the Miraculous when it's charged. I wanted to make the Miraculous jewels actual jewels and not just jewelry Middle: the Miraculous in camouflage mode when paired with their main Holder (Marinette for the Ladybug; Adrien for the Black Cat). I wanted to personalize them a bit more and the addition of the gem in the Black Cat Miraculous meant that I had to include it the camo version. Bottom: the weapons. I didn't change either very much. I tried to make the yo-yo look like it was made of metal and added a bit of a glow to the baton's paw print also on instagram ^_^
