Little Rant - Tumblr Posts

So I doubt that anyone cares, but I've reached 500 followers and I feel like I should do something as I'm not sure on what to do. But again, no one probably cares. But I am amazed of how I've gained that much followers since my writing sucks. If I should do something about celebrating or doing something else, let me know.

P.S. I wasn't gonna say anything but it would've annoyed me a bit.

I hate modern media.

Like don't get me wrong, there's plenty of good stuff out there, but for the most part it feels like so little heart goes into most books/movies/shows?

Like--the PJO show, don't get me wrong, it was good...but it was, at least to me, just kind of...fine? Nostalgia can only go so far.

Casting-wise, it was perfect, and it does seem like it was made by people who genuinely love and care about the source material, but who had to rush their story because they just didn't have the time. They had 8 episodes. Each of those episodes was like 35-45 minutes long, but not only is that pretty long for a single episode, if each of those episodes pretty much just covers one part of the story...that's still not a lot??

House of the Dragon? 10 episodes. No matter how long those 10 episodes are, they're trying to show us how a whole ass war got started in 10 FREAKING EPISODES. How Alicent and Rhaenyra's friendship broke down. Both of their relationships with their spouses and children. They still didn't fully explore Rhaenyra and Harwin's relationship. Does Rhaenyra have any more complicated feelings about her father for his role in the deterioration of her friendship with Alicent? Plus all the time skips...we don't have time to sit with these characters and their relationships and get to know them. Not like we did in GOT (at least the first like 4 seasons).

Not to mention waiting like 2 years between each season. Like, one of my favourite shows ever is Arcane because I like to suffer, and between season 1 and 2 there are 3 years (season 2 comes out November of this year). Watchers may not be happy to wait that long, but we expect good quality for that wait because Arcane is insanely good in all aspects--animation, character arcs, world building, nuance, commentary, music, action, etc., etc., etc. A lot of other shows, not just the two I've mentioned above, just don't feel as worth the wait. I still think they're enjoyable, and I think the writers do want to make good work, but that's hard to do with 8-10 episodes. And Arcane has only 9 episodes, and all of them are long, sure, but I feel like since there are so many moving parts and characters and subplots to the subplots, it can a) keep viewers engaged that long, and b) can easily fill up that much time well with clear priorities and a tightly woven story.

Avatar: The Last Airbender, a masterpiece show in my (and many other people's) opinion, had 20 episode seasons, each episode around 20-25 minutes. That's a reasonable amount of time to focus on one adventure or aspect of the adventure. Prioritize what to focus on, and it slays. But you can't keep giving writers 8 episodes, a shit ton of material, and then expect 100% quality every time.

coming back to this post with the news that Bridgerton is only going to come back in like, 2 years? For an 8 episode season? When they have actors that are going to visibly grow up, AND others that are going to be getting more and better-paying opportunities as the years go by and can't be signed to the same show forever?

It's really not that big of a deal idk i just saw this post and thought about it.

Some incoherent ranting/rambling i guess

I really don't understand some people's obsession with fictional characters doing shitty things just conveniently...NOT KNOWING that they're bad?? Idk if that makes ANY sense at all it's 3 in the goddamn morning but let me explain--

I was doom scrolling, as one does, when I came across a tiktok of a marvel fan explaining why actually wanda maximoff had no idea what she was doing with the hex, which, sure, holds true for the BEGINNING of wandavision. But we're shown pretty clearly during the rest of the show that she knows what she's done, how it's affecting the townspeople, and that it's not real...she just needs it to be real. She can't cope with her ACTUAL reality. Her family is gone, and the ones that remain are busy dealing with their own traumas and families (i.e. clint, who I still argue WOULD have tried to find her and help her post-endgame, even if he desperately needed some downtime with his family--but moving on). I'm a wanda maximoff stan, she's my girl, my favourite, my one and only, but she's not a complete idiot. She knew what she was doing. I don't care that she did an objectively bad thing, I care about why she did it and kept on doing it--which is so much more interesting to me, anyways.

Alicent Hightower in HOTD? According to the writers, had no clue that, actually, years of talking about how aegon should be the heir to the throne would result in people ACTUALLY SCHEMING to get him on the throne, even though she seems to be heading the effort the entire time? Listen, the HOTD fandom is something else, and the way they talk about alicent genuinely scares me, but alicent being worried for her kids' safety, reluctantly cutting off all affection for Rhaenyra because she's genuinely terrified for her kids' lives, even just the spite of wanting her years of suffering and humiliation to mean something; alicent being both a ringleader and a pawn in a man's game, because ultimately she's resigned to the fact that the closest she can get to winning in this system (under this wheel, if you will), is finding the best man to propel to victory/be a pawn for because she as a woman will ultimately never be the victor herself--is SO MUCH MORE INTERESTING than "okay, yeah, she spent years declaring how unfit her ex-bff/stepdaughter is to rule, but she didn't know people would actually take that seriously...she just wants rhaenyra to be OKAY, yall..." (I have a lot of feelings about how the show wrote alicent, okay?)

And arcane is one of my favourite shows of all time, and I've been lucky enough to MOSTLY stay on the good side of the fandom, which, from my end, is usually pretty amazing with an appreciation for nuanced media. But it genuinely makes my blood boil when I see people claim that Vi "could have gone back for jinx on the bridge" (ep. 7), when the moment they're referencing is vi supporting an injured Caitlyn, who almost died by jinx's bombs, RIGHT AFTER JINX SHOT AT THEM BOTH, AND RIGHT AFTER EKKO TOLD VI TO GO. "She left her sister to get beat up--" everything in vi's face in that scene speaks to her reluctance. She's holding up a girl she's growing closer to, who could actually be grievously injured, and she knows, at this point, that jinx is irrational--jinx just shot at her. Like...we knew that vi wasn't going to die, but she could've really easily. Ekko says he'll handle it. There's another bomb. Vi goes back to look for jinx AS SOON as Caitlyn's sitting down somewhere relatively safe (at which point, you know, she sees jinx being picked up by silco and his sidekicks). The point is, people act, with scenes like this one, like jinx was chucking paint bombs, not shooting fucking bullets en masse. I love all the arcane characters; jinx is such an interesting one, and her hallucinations and delusions do tend to make us wonder how much responsibility we can rightfully place on her shoulders. But people are really out here acting like she didn't...almost kill vi and cait there? We, from jinx's perspective, know that she saw Caitlyn as the literal devil; from vi and cait's povs, she just kind of walked up and tried to kill them. Am I making my point yet?

Speaking of arcane, i hope in season 2 we get scenes of characters from piltover who are really rooting for the oppression of the undercity. Not because of what jinx did, not because of the war, not because they "just don't know" how bad it is...because they make a profit off of it, and for that they are perfectly content letting people become dependent on drugs and make their livings from dangerous work in factories and mines. The whole point of "the city of progress" is that it became what it was off the backs of the undercity. We get a lot of characters in season 1 REALIZING the conditions down there, but I want them realizing in season 2 that not everybody was sheltered, they were just making a profit. (I kind of want to see Heimerdinger called out, too. Like, yeah, he's fluffy and cute and stuff, but if he's the founder of piltover, he's also been there since the beginning of the undercity, and didn't care because immortality yada yada. Have I envisioned scenes of ekko calling vi a sellout and she's just like "bitch and who the fuck are you working with?" and everybody's miserable? Yes. Yes I have. And don't come for me, ekko is the mvp of this show. Let a girl dream).

Even people like Tony Stark...people be acting like he's not actually an asshole a lot of the time. Or that he didn't know what weapons did before he stopped distributing them. I like tony, he's entertaining. But I'm not going to act like I need him to be a saint who didn't know shit about the world or basic courtesies to like him.

Idk if fandoms are just weird like that, but you can like your fave even if they do shitty things. They don't always have to be helpless, or just too stupid to realize what's going on. I don't understand why so many people are opposed to being entertained by people who do shitty things. Where's the appreciation for the drama? The messiness? The chaos?

it slowly kills me, being in this body, separate from yours. my heart painfully aches inside of this flesh prison every time i see you, because i cannot, for the love of all that is holy, feel what you feel, see what you see, touch what you touch. the world surrounding us becomes unknown to me, for if i cannot experience it in the same way that you do, i would rather not experience it at all. it drives me mad that i do not get to know the tremors of your mind when you face a difficulty, or the excitement that makes your blood pump faster through your veins when you do what you truly love. your life is all but a book, a beautifully and excruciatingly well written book, of which i read the words but don't understand their true meaning, despite all things composing my soul desperately wanting to.

I hate when i find a movie and it’s a good movie and it becomes a favorite of mine and i scroll through the tag on tumblr and i see smut.

Like..a character would be a literal victim of sexual violence or abuse and ppl are thinking about having sex with them. Maybe it’s normal and i’m just weird but i think it’s weird ppl feel the need to sexualize every single character they get their hands on bc they’re cute or ‘hot’.

For example

I Hate When I Find A Movie And Its A Good Movie And It Becomes A Favorite Of Mine And I Scroll Through
I Hate When I Find A Movie And Its A Good Movie And It Becomes A Favorite Of Mine And I Scroll Through
I Hate When I Find A Movie And Its A Good Movie And It Becomes A Favorite Of Mine And I Scroll Through
I Hate When I Find A Movie And Its A Good Movie And It Becomes A Favorite Of Mine And I Scroll Through

(There’s female characters too but it’s mostly male characters who always happen to be teens that people sexualize bc they’re ‘hot’)

I just think it’s weird we’d see a character get sexually abused/getting raped or preforming a sexual act they don’t want to do. And y’all just be like “omg they’re so hot i want to blow their back out/i want them to blow my back out😝”

Like we just seen this character get touched by a family member when they were a child, forced to do a sexual act because they think they need to (or however you spell it but you know what i’m trying to spell), beat up and raped not only did they get beat up and rape but they also had a sexual ‘relationship’ with a grown man when they were eight years old, and ppl are thinking about fucking them. Did we watch the same movie/show? Why do people feel the need to sexualize every. single. character. they can. Find a character that’s a adult and not getting abused every minute in the movie/show, i swear to god it isn’t a hard thing to do. at. all.

There’s nothing wrong with thinking the character/actor is cute but let’s be respectful here, and i’ve realized that people just sexualize every(mostly male) character just because. And i think it’s weird, like just enjoy the movie and character. But again maybe i think it’s weird because i’m weird and i don’t understand (i’m saying this in sarcasm if anyone was confused).

But at the end of the day It’s not gonna kill you or your family to not sexualize a character that happens to be a minor and a victim, and the “i’m the same age as this character” is annoying bc minors can sexualize other minors, and it doesn’t make it okay at all.

If you want to correct me or make a point, feel free to i don’t care but if you say something i think is stupid, you will start violently coughing.

also tell me characters that you know that get sexualize by everyone and you think is weird.

Abuse is so much worse when the person doing the abusing used to actually love you, and claimed they’d never do anything to hurt you because you meant so much to them.

But then one day they just... changed. And suddenly, you’re just like this object that they use to take their anger out on. And they curse at you, scream at you, blame you for their mistakes. You mean nothing more to them than a speck of dirt. They don’t care when you cry, they don’t do anything to comfort you, especially when they’re the reason you’re crying in the first place.

It’s fucking painful to see a person who used to cherish you treat you like a piece of garbage all the time. It’s painful not having anyone to talk to, being forced to act like you’re okay when really, you’re not. Abuse hurts, no matter what form it takes, and it absolutely sucks.

A post was made to bash @antlergrave for something they don’t exactly remember doing, they’re also quite mature now than a few years back if anything did actually happen but they themselves have said that they do not remember anything. So since I’m not going to name anyone I would say for those who want to “call people out” at least try to have cold hard evidence instead of just tweets that were made like a year or so ago. It also looks bad on you when you try so desperately to call attention or harass someone for something. The second post wasn’t even bad, for someone who is in both creepypasta and MH fandoms I side with the fact that they fucked the designs and personalities of both Masky and hoody not only that but they completely erased all of MH ever happening in the creepypasta fandom and twinkified Tim. Antlergrave before in some recent pictures that they have made do not find this funny nor does a lot of the Marble hornets fandom find it funny. So there is jack shit to really blame there and the first post sounds like something you would find either in a tabloid or a desperate Newspaper that’s about to go bankrupt. So please for those who want to harass others don’t do it to people that have done nothing to you and if you want to harass someone, do it on online towards people who have done wrong such as Colleen Ballinger (probably spelled that wrong) or SSSniperwolf. They have done things that are very wrong and you can harass them. Not antlergrave or others who have done nothing towards you. Thank you for reading.

It bugs me whenever cartoon characters just sleep on top of their blankets, fully dressed in uncomfortable clothes and shoes. Like, is it so hard to animate them in comfy clothes, without shoes on, getting under their blanket?

Why it's important to re-watch/re-read things: (in this case re-watch):

LEOLA WAS FIRST MENTIONED IN S5 E2: Old Wounds

Callum and Rayla were looking at stars and telling each other the names of them. Callum pointed out a bright star and said it was called the South Star. Rayla said elves called it LEOLA'S Wish.

There's really not point to this just wanted to point that out.

Bonus: Callum: "Who's Leola?" Rayla: "Dunno. Garlaath's friend?" For context, she called the big dipper "Garlaath the annihilator”

So I have some OCs and I really love drawing them when I get the time too, But I don't really draw my OCS that much at the same time. Mainly because I love doing fan art a lot so I don't really draw my OC's, but I do plan on trying to draw them more this year. And redesign some old OCs of mine I don't really show at all. Like a couple of human OCs I have that are really old from my previous account I used to post on

A Little Rant Post With Fast Sketch As A Treat.

A little rant post with fast sketch as a treat.

Sooo. I wrote down some characteristics of this man that I think would rather fit him. Let me note right away: this is not an approach to Peter as a historical figure. With the differences and contradictions in information about him that we are dealing with, it is impossible to say anything specific about him in 90% of cases. Rather, I am creating a character based on my vision, headcanons and some information that I know about him. I am not a historian and do not claim to be historic. Please do not be offended.

So, in terms of character, I imagine Peter as:

• rather naive

• not the most responsible, if he is not interested in the matter

• quite infantile

• rather smart and witty, but has not learned to use his mind properly

• nervous

• impressionable

• quite a simple man

• frivolous

• meticulous

• stubborn

• hot-tempered and generally with a changeable character

• childish

• talkative, but at the same time secretive (although he does not know how to lie convincingly)

• straightforward to the point of rudeness

• a dreamer

• well, and cowardly, let's be honest

There's more other qualities I'd gave him, but I don't remember them at this moment, so let's stop here.

What follows is my lengthy discussion of some of Peter's particular ways of thinking as I see and know them. The topic is vast, so I have only touched on some aspects, of which there are in fact many more. Again, this has very little to do with a real historical figure. Don't take it seriously.

The reason for such a set of personal qualities is most likely the peculiarities of his upbringing (in particular, the years of physical abuse he experienced) and the almost constant loneliness that he faced in Russia. However, in my opinion, he himself is partly to blame for the latter. He probably couldn't cope with the shock of such sudden and large-scale changes in his life (in particular becoming a russian heir all of a sudden) and preferred to remain who he, in his own opinion, always was and should be - a german, a Holstein Duke, a lutheran, etc. This was his psyche's way of protecting his own self, but this same method later played a cruel joke on him. He himself began to create a psychological barrier, a gap between himself and others. In fact, he locked himself in his own little world, the order in which he considered the only correct one. This was banal escapism, to which Peter, stubborn by nature, resorted for twenty years. He resisted any external pressure (for which I blame one specific period of his upbringing and am very angry about this) and was very reluctant to change his behavior pattern, which pushed people away from him even more. He did not want to understand them, and they did not understand him. He got close to those around him only if they supported his hobbies and indulged his inclinations, which often harmed him. And this also later led to his defeat in the political struggle with his wife.

Also, escapism could manifest itself in games with soldiers, passion for the army, and so on. The army was also like a separate small world with its own clear laws and hierarchy, in which Peter felt quite comfortable and safe. There's also place for a compensation for the lack of control over his life and the circumstances with which he lived until the death of his aunt.

It is also worth mentioning the complexes and insecurities that he certainly had. Their list includes his desire to match the image of a soldier (in this case, a Prussian one), which existed at that time. This image was closely associated with such external attributes as drinking, smoking a pipe, and various uniforms and other army things. But these are all external signs that Peter resorted to, since he himself - nervous, sickly, afraid of thunder, blood and the sounds of gunfire - could not match this image. This has a very direct relation to the influence of toxic masculinity on Peter (which is quite a big and complex topic on its own, so I won't go deep into this), as a very subtle person, as well as to another complex of his, connected with his sexual life. There is no clear answer to what the problem was, but most likely it was phimosis. One way or another, Peter's perception as a man suffered because of this, and he understood it perfectly well. That is why he tried to demonstrate and prove that he was a man in all other, external ways. He drank, smoked, showed cruelty that was not typical for him, while not being some kind of evil person. It can also be mentioned that he tried to prove his masculinity first of all to his wife, who, as it happened, took on the leading role in their relationship, but I will not go into this. One way or another, Peter clearly did not overcome these teenage complexes and lived with them until the end of his life (although he clearly wouldn't admit it), which, in fact, is very sad. Man just wasn't meant to be the ruler of an entire country and circumstances only made things worse.

And in the end we have a very lonely man who never managed to grow up and decided to replace reality he didn't like with a little world he only felt comfortable in. He tried to find his happiness, but circumstances and his own personal flaws did not allow him to do so. A very depressing outcome, but the history of the vast majority of royal families is depressing and full of existential drama, so nothing new.

In the end Peter, in my opinion, was neither a fool nor a misunderstood genius. He was just a weirdo. In those conditions and at that time in which he lived, there probably was simply no place for such a person. And that's sad.

I wanna squeeze this man in hug so hard you can't even imagine
