Xin decided to visit Shiro’s apartment, wanting to check up on the old man. It was his second time visiting his home, and his first experience was quite decent. Kind of...
Xin finally arrived at the door after climbing a flight of stairs and decided to knock.
“Shiro-san, you there? It’s me, Xin.”
“...”
He furrowed his eyebrows at the silence and knocked a few more times only to get the same response. Xin sighed and decided to open the door (which was surprisingly unlocked) as he announced himself, delving into the dim-lit house while hollering out to his old friend.
“Shiro-san! Are you there?!”
He was now getting confused and concerned when he entered the living room. He sighed in relief when he saw the man looking out the window, his ears flicking above his head. Xin then comes closer to the old male, smiling brightly.
“Shiro-san! I’ve been yelling for hours, but you didn’t respond. You oka-?”
The young male halted, instantly freezing up from fear as he got a whiff of a metallic smell and looked down, only to be horrified at the fresh corpse.
Shiro was standing in front of the dead body, his appearance stained with blood while holding his stained sword.
Xin croaked out.
“Shiro-san…?”
Shiro slowly looked his way; his lifeless eyes bore into the horrified ones.
Xin then realized that the people you met are not always what you thought they were. There will be a time they’ll show you their true colors.
