OH OH OH GOSH THE DIALOGUE HERE IS SO SO SO GOOD WHAT THE FUCK like this is so spot on for 03 i can here sam regiels voice wtf u captured them PERFECTLY visually too even they are so on point AND HE CALLS HIM BOTH MASTER SPLINTER AND DAD TOP TEN WAYS TO MAKE ME CRY BRO rb 03 is probably the best in my opinion in that particular balance like the boys almost exclusively call him master splinter but the whole time its just 'oh thts how they say dad' and when talking to strangers they explicitly are like oh yeah my Dad my father whereas usually warrior characters calling out for their parent is only in moments of mourning or similar which of course is highly emotional (just the thought of 12 mikeys 'papa' can spark tears) but like in 03 the emotional impact feels more like a reminder of love almost? like a sweeping hug. like. those are his sons. hes their dad. like it hits hard emotionally but not because the sentiment is new or strange just the language like in 12 when they call him sensei or master splinter it feels (to me at least) like oh these boys were raised as students first sons second like idk theres something in How they say it i guess its strictly about respect and honoring splinter by referring to his title as a teacher where in 03 again it feels more like 'master splinter' and 'dad' are on equal footing they just are more used to calling him master splinter (and rise feels almost opposite of 12 like its startling each time the boys call him anything other than dad or pops) not a critique of any of the shows or of any of the splinters btw!! just something i think about a lot and love so so much about 03
