I've been reading the novel of Kotm, and I love Kong's reaction to Ghidorah's call. It's basically the equivalent to a politician giving a speech on TV, and Kong is just a tired rancher going, "Turn off that damn TV! All that yappin is drawing out the rattlers and coyotes!", as he loads his shotgun to fight off the skullcrawlers. Never change Kong, never change.
Spoilers for Godzilla vs Kong Novelization
I started reading the GvK novel, and there are some parts I wanted to share for anyone not interested in reading it, but might enjoy the extra content of everyone's favorite big angry animals. I'm not doing this in any particular order, and right now, I really want to share this one cute scene I just read.
Quote from novel under cut.
"Watching her fingers, listening to her voice, amplified over the loudspeaker.
You: Kong, she signed. Me: Ilene. She: Jia.
His eyes shifted with the words.
Yes, she signed. Good. Can you talk with hands? Say "Kong"?
That was easy. All he really had to do was point to himself. Bonus if he made the sign Jia had made up for "Kong."
At first, he didn't do anything, so she went back through the whole rigmarole.
Then to her shock and delight, Kong lifted his hand. His lips parted, not threatening, not showing teeth. A convivial gesture, a greeting even.
Come on! she thought.
Kong then scratched his nose, let out an extended, windy yawn, and turned away.
She closed her eyes and sighed. When she opened them, Jia was there between them.
Ha,ha, she signed.
It's not funny, she said. Jia, this could be important. If we could communicate with him, really talk to him-that could be huge.
Jia shrugged. He doesn't talk, she said.

So far, every chapter in Godzilla's perspective have been a xenofiction gold mine. It's a little trippy but you're so immersed that you somehow 'get' what Godzilla's on.
Anyway, this quote shows Dr. Serizawa's sacrifice from Godzilla's perspective and Godzilla's own description of instincts.
"He remembered the glimpse of a tiny creature, one of his, reaching to touch him, the obliterating light that followed. Renewed, he had risen, and fought, and triumphed. He proclaimed himself and the others bowed to him. But no war is won so easily. He knew this from his own memories, but also from other recollections that came to him from a far deeper place, from the darkness before his eyes first opened. They were not the same recollections as those he had experienced himself; there were no colors or remembered shapes or even places, but instead a deep certainty." - Pg 37-38

Anyway, here's Kong's first impression on Godzilla.
"The shape of the enemy was like nothing he had ever seen, much less fought; but just the scent of the creature made him angry, and everything about it fit into a hollow spot inside of him, as if something had been taken out long ago and left empty until now.
He would have let it be. He had no interest in it; it did not threaten his island and those he protected. Why should he care about it or what it did?
But it had come for him, come when he was helpless. And for that, he wanted to break it, tear off its limbs, suck the meat from its bones.
But it was bigger, stronger than anything he had ever known. It made him feel things he did not understand and did not want to understand." - Pg 182
Au Where Everything is Exactly the Same but The Lady Bone Demon destroys everyone with facts and logic
It’s not even really an au. It’s just me being angry that the show hyped up Lady Bone Demon from the first season just to have her get murked by Sun Wukong.

So boom, collection of short stories in which I will rewrite scenes with her, and finally the fight between her and Sun Wukong, which will absolutely NOT be written in chronological order!
