One Piece Theory - Tumblr Posts
shitpost one piece theory’s that aren’t going to happen but it’s funny to think about anyway
- i refuse to believe Oda introduces Davy Back Fights and only uses it for Long Ring Long Land, i think the Strawhats are gonna have one against Blackbeards crew or Shanks’ crew for the Road/Lode Poneglyphs (this probably isn’t going to happen as i think the big war alluded to in Dressrosa is going to be the Strawhat Grand Fleet vs Blackbeard Pirates)(the other option would be the government but ehh.. Egghead already has the Strawhats vs the Gorosei)maybe against Shanks then? we’re going to Elebaf next and Shanks was seen there last, plus, Shanks would actually fight fairly during a Davy Back Fight (or, i would like to believe he would)(though, Elebaf is probably going to be more about the last Road/Lode Poneglyph [?? i think it’d be the last, i don’t actually remember] and Nika/Sun God’s origins)
another; i’m starting to get convinced that you can only reach Laughtale without a Devil Fruit (Buggy, the only Devil Fruit user on Rodgers crew, getting sick right before they get to Laughtale is a bit too convenient for me, also, Shanks most likely asked Rodger what was on the last island and was told, and no one on Shanks’ crew has a Devil Fruit), so, what if Blackbeard or someone on his crew steals Luffy’s fruit? I mean, this probably won’t happen as Luffy being rubber is a huge part of him plus there’s three other Devil Fruit users on this crew..
🔼 though, with the Shanks thing i mentioned, maybe the only reason he and his crew doesn’t have Devil Fruits is because he was told the world was sinking (same reason why Reighley has his Ship-Coating business and why Crocus is making Laboon into, like, a submarine)
I've seen a pretty interesting theory that Imu is actually a child. If this theory turned out to be true it would not only be an interesting plot-twist but would also be an interesting foil for Luffy.
Luffy is a boy who is growing up to become a man (in the Pirate King), his Gear 5 form represents the limitless imagination, joy and freedom of a child and has an optimistic point of view of life. Imu, on the other hand, could be an adult trapped in the body of a child who has lived for 800 years, rules the world from the shadows and does so with a system that oppresses others, his powers seem to represent terror and nightmares, and could also have a cruel or indifferent point of view of life.
Luffy, the boy who, despite becoming a man, retains his inner child. Imu, who despite being in the body of a child, is an adult who has lived so long that he lost his inner child.

I just read about a man who ate a plane. How is that pssible????
His name was Michel Lotito.
Apparently he had a disorder called pica, it’s psychological dosprder and means that he had an appetite for unusual things- not normal food. Like for example that plane. What’s more, his body was also unusual inside allowing him to eat shapr objects without being injured. And acids in his stomath were so strong that he was able to digest those unusual materials.
Interesting, right?
But there is one more thing i want to say
Does anyone remember this guy?:
If no, this is Wapol from One piece.
Why i put him here?
Because he also could eat everything, or almost everything.
I wonder, if Michel also could change his body like Wapol.
maybe Oda heard about mr. Lotito? And after that created Wapol?
Was watching a YouTube video about the theory that Mihawk was initially the first mate of the red hair pirates, called “The greatest Mihawk Theory Ever Made” by the Hidden Island.
And it’s a great video and a pretty solid theory with fun evidence. But what’s pertinent here is that the creator suggests his own take on how Shanks and Mihawk’s story could be resolved or explored more and that’s by having Shanks win Mihawk in a straw hat, red hair pirates, cross guild wide Davy Back fight. and hit him with a “Good to have you back Hawkeyes”
Ahhhhrectruuundwdgb
I can’t tell you how unwell this scenario makes me I think about it once a day and I might die if I never get to see this but will actually die if it does happen.

Continuing my ongoing saga of driving myself insane; Do you think there’s a world where Shanks dies and the Red Hair pirates have been decimated through foul play? do you think in that world Mihawk will take up protecting Shanks’ notoriously weak fleet and territories out of some kind of penance.
For what nobody is completely sure, nobody, alive atleast, has laid eyes on Hawkeyes in months. The fleet and territories still fly the red hair Jolly Roger even though there are no more red hair pirates to protect it. But interestingly enough territories ripe for the picking stay untouched and unbothered.
Also Interestingly and completely unrelated, any pirates, marines or even the occasional world government agents, that kick up a little to much trouble a little too close to the territories tend to turn up dead. Heads cleanly separated from their shoulders.
Nobody’s quite sure whose behind it, and the locals swear they’ve never seen nobody, but if a gold crucifix tends to show up planted next to the Red Hair Jolly Rogers, well who’s to say.
I’m not someone that particularly cares about a ship being canon or not, in fact I would rather the media I consume have no romance at all (giving my blog confusing yes I know)
But there is something about the canon ties between Shanks and Mihawk that drives me feral with need to see what their whole deal is.
Because like there are so many little inconsequential details that when taking separately seem pathetic and weak. But then put together it feels like it paints the picture of a larger undeniable connection and understanding between two wildly different men.
The fact that their main color is both red (Mihawk’s is a more wine dark red than Shanks’ bright red and a little more “subtle” given that Shanks is literally called red hair) but even then their main symbols, their identifying features, are red! Mihawk’s eyes and Shanks hair (yes while I love the gold and think that’s better I cannot ignore the fact that Oda consistently colors in Mihawk’s eyes red even though the gold is infinitely more popular)
They have the same birthday, are practically the same height, both with the promises to our two main protagonists to meet them at the top with a parting “gift”, both serve as a mentor to the protagonist (mihawk literally thought zoro how to kill him 😭), both with the bird(ish) iconography.
The fact that Mihawk, Mihawk! A man whose introduction was that he didn’t care much about anything and caused destruction on a whim, cares enough about what Shanks thinks to mentally apologize before trying to kill luffy (what the fuck).
The fact that whitebeard felt the need to reference his duel with Mihawk in his conversation with Shanks, despite not really being very relevant to the conversation and the fact that this is the first we’ve seen shanks in years and it is brought up in the same context as his relationship with Buggy (an already established relationship) reveals his relationship to Roger seems to point to the fact that this duel between Mihawk and Shanks is an important relationship to shanks. It couldn’t just be to show strength because he was about to clash with whitebeard the strongest man. It’s also hard to notice that those two relationships didn’t end particularly well for shanks.
Also the fact that it was Mihawk out of every character , Mihawk that brought luffy’s bounty to Shanks. Something he obviously knew would mean a lot to him. I used to think the scene was just there to show us how big a deal Shanks actually is like look at that fun childish alcoholic gang inspired our main hero? He’s actually a super big deal and he used to spar with the strongest character by far we had seen at that point (it wasn’t even close) and they fought on equal footing. It added a new layer of mystery to Shanks.
But it’s also the fact that even now with Mihawk’s bounty Shanks was mentioned and he’s the only one who this was mentioned for. Crocodile is just for his df and intelligence and they don’t mention that he literally tried and almost succeeded in subjugating a country and he was beat by luffy “or smoker given how many marines actually know the truth” even buggy who was literally Shanks’ sworn brother under the pirate king doesn’t get a mention like that. But Shanks and this duel is so integral to Mihawk’s character that it’s mentioned along with the only other long lasting fact we know about him and that is that he is the World’s Strongest Swordsman. Isn’t that fucking insane.
And like I feel insane scrapping all these details together as proof of something because they are all (besides the duel) the barest bones of a connection but god it is actually driving me insane.
And I’m not saying Mishanks is going to become canon or that it should or that I even particularly want it too. What I do want is to see how deeply these two are connected. What are these red strings of fate tying them to each other. Why can’t apparently ten years of little contact sever it? I swear to god if it’s actually nothing much I will lose my fucking mind. If nothing ever comes of all of this I will actually go insane. How can some people look at this and not see foreshadowing!?!?!!
I feel like the main reason this evil shanks theory is so prevalent (besides the private meeting the the gorsei which up even I can’t explain) is that his general cheeriness and lackadaisical disposition is more of a presented front, a mask to be slipped on and off at will which would be fine if he weren’t often put in the same boat as Roger and Luffy two people ( for as much as we know about roger) who have no masks at all.
Don’t get me wrong I’m pretty sure that Shanks is a naturally happy, good natured dude but he’s also the most politically minded pirate we have seen on the show (and some of these pirates were actual politicians) like I’m pretty sure Roger is more mature and secretive than Luffy ( makes sense he’s older and has seen more of the world) but with both of them you never get the sense that their silliness is something they are putting on for the direct purpose of making themselves less of a threat. They both can get serious when the situation calls for it but that feels more of an extension of their already established personality more than a hidden personality.
While with shanks it’s undeniable that something changed within him and his goals the day Roger died I don’t know if Roger actually told him something or if he just wasn’t dealing with the abandonment well it was probably a mix of both honestly. But yeah Shanks comes off as a guy with his ear to the ground someone who has schemes on schemes on schemes. he’s someone playing in the long run, kind of like crocodile but not nefarious. And when compared with a straight forward head first always kinda guy like Luffy, like he often is, he can come off a little suspicious.
There’s something that’s a little fake about his cheer, something a little too performative about his optimism and foolishness. I think it’s a mix of; he’s housing a deep sadness, he’s more of a realist that an optimist and also dudes just a pacifist unlike like luffy who loves to brawl ( like luffy knows when it’s better not to fight but he also loves a good fight) and he would rather deescalate a situation than fight it out and sometimes the easiest way to do that is with an air of cluelessness and making yourself seem less of a threat which makes it so much more jarring but effective when he reveals just how big a threat he is. but I can see why people think it’s suspicious.
(Interestingly even when luffy tries to emulate this behavior like when he first encountered Bellamy at the pub his plan is to just not react which while in the same vain is very different than Shanks actively playing the drunken good natured take it on the chin role for the bandits Luffy was still essentially himself he just refused to react while Shanks played a role which made it more terrifying and effective when he stopped)
Also it doesn’t help that until recently he’s largely been missing from the narrative with just a man echoing or a whisper here or there of how powerful he is.
But I think we should remember that Shank’s goal is essentially world peace. and peace, a true lasting peace, is just a little more of a precarious balancing act, than utmost freedom. For freedom you have to destroy the old game, for peace you have to learn to play a new one, hopefully with a bit more kindness injected into the foundation.
Hello, it's me again. Back on my bullshit. as per this post
This one is about to sound even more conspiracy theorist but hey we ride or we die 🤷🏿♀️
but yeah, I just learnt that Mihawk and Shanks are both Pisces. and Pisces are associated with Yin and Yang which you know famous for equal balance a good month to give two famously, equal rivals.
But also if we take Red as their main color my good people I ask what would you say their supporting colors are? 🤔
That's right Mihawk's is black Shanks' is white bing bang boom Yin and Yang ladies and gentlemen. Not to mention they have the dot Shank's coat is black while Mihawk has his pasty white skin, and oh his trousers are usually colored white in the manga(so is his kogatana apparently. Apparently Toei just likes the way gold looks on Mihawk)
also as @manofbeskar pointed out Shanks' jorts (spiritually) are flower patterned but not just any flower, Roses! guess who also likes roses. Also the coat Mihawk wear when he actually deigns to wear a shirt is eerily similar to Shanks' and the only other person I can remember that wears a coat like that besides Shanks is Luffy who is also tied to Shanks so do with that what you will
so yeah there we have it; I have no idea what any of this could mean but I'm having fun.
honestly I'm just spiraling at the idea that Oda might actually never reveal anything about their connection 😭 I would actually die if that happened.
Was thinking about this lovely comment that @manofbeskar left me "(+ blackbeard thing, me and my dad were saying if bb hurts/kills shanks, there's a chance mihawk will go after him)"
And not to put on my theory glasses
but it unknowingly triggered my biggest fear that I didn't even know I had. What if blackbeard killing Shanks and Mihawk hearing about it is what triggers the flashback into his backstory. What if that happens and it actually kills me? What then?
What fresh devil's deal is this?
Because like I got what I wanted Mihawk deep dive yay! But at what cost? Aren't some prices simply too high?
And I think we can all tell that we are gearing up for a Red Hair pirated Blackbeard Pirates confrontation (also isn't it neat that all three men involved in this whitebeard, blackboard, red hair, are all memorialized by their haircolor? Pretty fucking neat) But we also know that Shanks isn't going to beat blackboard Luffy, the protagonist has to do that! So it's reasonable to think that either the red hair pirates are shattered like what happened with Law and Shanks is gravely injured or Shanks dies and the red hair pirates have to regroup and probably partner up with the strawhats or something. but yeah if Shanks' death triggers Mihawk's backstory I think I'd be legally obligated to fly to Japan and attempt to fistfight Oda.

It’s interesting that shanks is a red head and left handed both things associated with being of the devil in a lot of cultures.
I’m not cooking anything with this I just realized and thought it was interesting.
But also they are called Devil Fruits and so there is obviously some kind of devil figure in the world of one piece. And the celestial dragons especially holy knights and the gorsei are considered gods and we already know the D clan are the people meant to bring about the fall of the celestial dragons they are the “devils”. Between Roger and Luffy, Shanks is the only one in the Strawhat line not to bear the D which would make sense if his celestial dragon heritage was true. But Shanks doesn’t fit with the Ceiestial Dragons doesn’t have their “divinity” Shanks has red hair, red eyes and is left handed, he’s always been too much devil to be god.
He’s the fallen angel forming the link between two “devils” Roger and Luffy. Not quite a devil but not holy either.

While I’m sure he will because obviously (and I low key want him too because I’m tired of powerscalers)
I think it would make a lot of sense (and be super impressive) if Mihawk doesn’t have conquerors Haki.
He just doesn’t display any domineering attitudes at all, nothing about him screams desire or need to impose his will on anyone.
Like I don’t think it’s a coincidence that everyone we’ve seen use conquerors are either high ranking members of extremely large crews/territories in which they are constantly enforcing their will on their crew or they have such a fierce need to protect something they turn that will on the world. It’s not lost on me that the first time we see Luffy unconsciously use Conquerors it’s in a bid to save ace.
Mihawk neither has nor wants a large crew and there’s nothing he particularly wants to protect. Even his title I’d wager isn’t something he wants to “protect” giving his desperate want of stronger opponents.
Hell I’d argue that he didn’t have a “Will” till he met Zoro and wanted him to inherit it. I think that’s apart of what makes the whole interaction so surprising to him.
Also I think ghat regardless who they are or their general disposition people are drawn to people with Conqueror’s Haki and CH users are drawn to leadership.
Hell even Zoro who of the confirmed users has the closest personality to Mihawk especially before finding the crew. Had Johnny and Yasuke (I’ll never forget you too ✊) who looked to him as an older brother figure. Also I’ll just say that Zoro is more aggressive than Mihawk generally, he does intend to scare people a lot. And Despite his abrasiveness people can’t help being drawn to him just like Luffy (albeit in a lesser way). And Mihawk just doesn’t have that.
But You know who does? Buggy!
People just can’t help but be drawn to the clown they can’t help but make him their captain, they so readily believe his bolstering even though he doesn’t have much to back it up with. Hell even Mihawk and Crocodile have fallen under his spell it’s like they’ve forgotten (especially Mihawk) that they don’t actually have to go along with his bullshit. I wouldn’t be suprised if Buggy had CoH. We’ve already seen him become less of a coward by declaring what he really wants. He has a larger than life dream and The people love Buggy and Buggy for as mush as he hides it loves the people. He’s been too much of a coward so far to unleash it but All he needs is to actually make a stand for the sake of his crew and I wouldn’t be surprised if he unlocked Conquerors (that would have everyone that knows him fucking gaggged my god)
Anyway back to my point By no definition of the word can Mihawk be classified as a “leader” and I wouldn’t classify him as a “conqueror”. And so I think it would make so much sense for his character not to have the Haki of one. But what I do think would be cool is if he’s like an absence for conquerors haki. Like it just doesn’t work on him not because he has a stronger will but because he has no “will” he is the absence of will and so therefore cannot make others bend or be made to bend. He simply is.
One thing i find really interesting is that at one point it was said that Zoan type divil fruits influence their users, wich would put more reason behind why luffy seems to liberate entire countrys for something as simple as a single bowl of rice. His devil fruit literally makes him a god, and a common offering for gods is food, so when people give him food and tell him about their problems he automatically wants to help them since they technically made an offering
The one piece is in the west blue on an island named something like dusk island either that or that's where the story ends.
Proof under the cut
1. Luffy's story starts on dawn Island in the east blue
2. The sun is a very prevalent thing in the one piece story
3. Dawn is the beginning of the day, it's when the sun rises
4. The sun rises in the East (East blue)
That's my current proof so far
----------------------
Here's some extra stuff of note
1. Something is up with dawn Island why are the animals and people coming out of there so weird?
To be updated
2. Void century = night???
3. Sea stone repels sea kings and takes out devil fruit powers. (Connected?)
I haven't really seen anyone talk about this (or maybe I just haven't looked hard enough), and I might be pointing out the obvious, but Koby, the strawhats, and the blackbeard pirates are all direct parallels of Garp, the Roger pirates, and the Rocks pirates, right? My theory is that the final fight will be between those three, similar to the God Valley, if not the final fight but a major one.
I’m 90% sure that if any of the strawhats would die, it would be Ussop.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying this because i think he’s a useless character or anything- he’s one of my favourite strawhats. But he’s the only one who’s ever left the crew with his free will. He’s the only one who has learnt what it’s like to properly leave the crew and come back and the consequences. With Oda’s foreshadowing and writing skills, there’s no way he wouldn’t use an opportunity this poetic.
I feel like the reason he’d end up in that situation was to save a crew member or the rest of the crew, mirroring how he left for the merry, no strawhat left behind. Someone would confront him if he’d be able to come out alive, and he’s say something along the lines of “I am God Ussop, greatest warrior of the sea and the best snipper in the history of snippers. I have over 4000 followers..” and he’d go on to list the things he once thought he’d only ever be able to lie about being. But the line that would break everyone would be the last line and his last lie; something along the lines of “I’ll be fine.” He’s turn around with tears in his eyes but with the biggest smile on his face, and everyone watching will be crying their eyes out, including me.
This made me think of something interesting.
As it says in the chapter dials are carcasses- fossils if you will. They can store certain things like wind and sound.
But what are the carcasses of? I mean some of them circularly shaped like a snails shell- especially tone dials. So maybe they’re the carcasses of den den mushis. If they are, that means there were other similar species that used to be able to record smell and impact that have probably gone extinct.
