đđ» Get ready for the Hotchniss Spooky Season Challenge! đ»đ
This October, weâre bringing the chills, thrills, and fun with a brand-new challenge thatâll test your spooky spirit!
Dare to join? Keep an eye out for the full details dropping soon. Letâs make this spooky season unforgettable!
Day 7: Favorite Couple
Aaron Hotchner x Emily Prentiss (Hotchniss)
Although they never became a canon couple they were defiantly deserving of that. All the chemistry between them, the understanding, the similarities and the respect between them had the potential to make them one of the most interesting and intriguing couples of the show. -V
Although they never became a canon couple (YET!) if Paget is truly coming back there is still hopeâŠ
Do you understand what youâve done? You have 90 minutes to complete. (inspired: x,x)

Summary: Y/n has been keeping a secret from Emily and hasnât had the opportunity to tell her wife. The secret is revealed not in the way you had hoped but sometimes the unexpected can be perfect.
Warnings: Talks about miscarriages, fertility struggles and pregnancy in general. Small allusion to smut but no actual smut.
A/N: Hello again, itâs been a bit since Iâve posted anything but this is my first Emily Prentiss x reader. This is set when Emily is Unit Chief and wonât follow any specific episode. I hope you all enjoy it :))
â--------------------------------------------
You loved your wife. More than anything else in the world. But since becoming the BAUâs Unit Chief a couple months ago she was a lot busier. Whether it was paperwork or meetings, she had a lot on her plate.
You werenât mad or upset, if anything you were incredibly proud. But you still missed your wife, even though you worked with her everyday.
You had both adjusted pretty quickly to her new workload and always made sure to spend time with one another as much as possible. But this week had been particularly bad. She would mostly be out of the house before you even woke up or leaving as you started to get ready. Then sheâd be in her office hours after the team went home.
You knew it was just going to be one of those weeks and you just had be there to support you wife if she needed anything.
Youâd been feeling sick all week and at first you had put it down to something youâd ate. But as the week went on, so did the nausea and the body aches.
If it had been a normal week Emily would have noticed immediately. But with how busy she was, she really only saw you when you were in bed or in passing at work.
You hadnât thought much else about the sickness you had been feeling until yesterday morning. Emily had just left the house when you got up. As you walked towards the kitchen the smell of coffee had set you off and caused you to sprint into the bathroom and empty the contents of your stomach.
Thatâs when it hit you. You had wrapped a case the week before in Idaho and hadnât even noticed that your period was late. And not just a little, by almost 2 months. It all started to make sense.
You and Emily have been married for four years and decided that you were both ready to expand your family. Youâd both picked out a sperm donor that had similar looks to Emily and had been trying for a baby for months now.
You were lucky to have a positive test come back fairly fast and Emily was ecstatic. The idea of you growing her child inside you made her so happy.
So when you had a doctors appointment to confirm everything, you were both heartbroken to find out that it was a false positive.
That night you had sobbed in Emilyâs arms while she too cried and held you tightly to her chest, whispering reassuring words into your ear. You knew that it was only the first try and that it was unlikely to happen anyway. But it still hurt, you were so close.
Since then you had tried multiple times but the test kept coming back negative. It was soul destroying to both of you. You had blamed yourself and thought that there was something wrong with your body. Emily made sure to reassure you that it wasnât but it was still hard.
So you tried not to get too excited while waiting for the pregnancy tests that sat on the counter. The happiness that flooded your body when all three came up positive was overwhelming and the tears started running.
But thereâs was still something in the back of your mind that told you that it wasnât real and it was just more false positives.
Luckily you didnât start until 10am and had plenty of time to book a last minute blood test. The joy you felt when it confirmed what you and Emily had been hoping for was one of the greatest feelings.
Now you just had to figure out the best way to tell your wife. As it was now Friday and finally the end of the week, you thought that it was the perfect night to tell her. And frankly you didnât know how much longer you could keep it in.
You had sneaked out and bought a cute little onesie and planned on leaving it on your bed with the positive pregnancy tests. It was a simple idea but thatâs all you wanted.
You were barely able to focus on your work all day and swore the day couldnât have gone any slower. As the team slowly started filtering out and wishing you a good weekend you started to get anxious.
Emily was still in her office doing paperwork and was so focused she didnât even realise the team had left.
Making your way up to her office you knocked and slipped in without waiting for an answer. Emilyâs head shot up ready to reprimand someone for entering her office without permission. But the moment her eyes me yours her entire face softened.
âHey babyâ she said as you made your way around her desk to stand in front of her. âEverything okay?â
âYea, I just miss my wifeâ you smiled leaning down to peck her lips.
Emily smiled into the kiss and you could feel tension start to leave her body at the small contact.
âWell I miss you moreâ she pulled you down to straddle her lap. Her arms snake around your waist pulling you closer and her hands start to rub soothing circles on your lower back. Instinctively your arms found there way around her neck and your fingers gently play with the hair at the back of her neck.
âIâm sorry I havenât been home much this week"
âItâs okayâ you reassure her. âI get it, youâve got a job to do and not every week is like this week. It will get better. Plus I know youâll make it up to me laterâ
She sees the smirk on your face and her hands move to squeeze your hips.
âOh I promise I will, you can count on itâ she smirks back with a mischievous glint in her eyes. âIâm pretty much done here if youâre ready to head home? Maybe I can start making it up to you when we get there?â
âThat sounds amazingâ you smile tightly getting a rush of nerves at the thought of the onesie laying on your bed at home.
âHey, you okay baby?â Emily of course notices your body language change immediately. Concern laces her face and her brows furrow. âDid something happen?â
âNo of course notâ your too quick to reassure her. âWell, sort of but nothing for you to worry aboutâ
You really should have just left the last part off but youâre practically bursting wanting to tell her.
âWhat do you mean? Did someone say something to you? Because you know i'm unit chief now, if anyone-â
âBabe, no one said anythingâ
âWell something happened, Iâm not gonna stop worrying until you tell me what it isâ her hand moves to caress your cheek and you canât help but lean into her touch. God she was your weakness. âTalk to me babyâ
âEmâŠâ
âIs this about my workload, cause I meant what I said. Iâm sorry about this week, I just-â
âEmily, itâs not about this week. I told you I get itâ
âWell then what is it? I can tell somethings offâ
âEm itâs about usâ
âThe two of us?â Her face is full of confusion which quickly turns to concern for your relationship.
âThe three of usâ you place her hand on top of your stomach and cover it with your own. âIâm pregnant babyâ
âYouâre pregnant?â You swear you can feel her heart stop for a brief moment.
âIâm pregnantâ you confirm tears forming in your eyes.
For a moment youâre unsure of her reaction, she just sits there stunned. It definitely wasnât the news she was expecting.
Before you can think much more about it here lips are on yours as she gives you a loving and passionate kiss. She pulls your body impossibly closer as tears start to stream down both your faces.
She pulls back to look at you, her hand and yours still resting against your stomach.
âI love you so muchâ she kisses you again.
âI love you tooâ
âWhen did you find out? Please tell me you havenât been holding out on me for too long because of workâ
âI only found out yesterday morning, I was feeling sick all week but I didnât think much of itâ her eyes never leave yours as you talk. âI didnât even realise I was late until yesterday too. So I took a bunch of tests and they all came back positiveâ
âAnd theyâre not-â
âNoâ you interrupt her before any more doubt can flood her mind. âI got a last minute blood test yesterday too. Iâm sorry I didnât tell you first but I didnât want to get your hopes up if it was another false positiveâ
âOh honey, you could have told me anywayâ her face softens. âWeâre in this together, remember?â
âI know, I just wanted it to be perfect when I told youâ you gesture with your hand âthis is not the way I planned on telling you. Thereâs a onesie sitting on our bed at homeâ
âThis was perfectâ she reassures you leaning in to place a kiss on your lips.
âIâm almost seven weeksâ you see her smile grow. âYou know Iâm surprised you havenât noticed yet, my boobs are already getting bigger.â
Her eyes flick down to your breasts and her lips twitch into a smirk.
âYou know considering how much you love to touch themâ you giggle.
âWell they are magnificentâ she defends reaching to give them a gentle squeeze making you moan lightly. âGod I love you, thank you for carrying our child and making us momsâ
âIâd do it twenty times if it made you happyâ you smile. âOkay maybe not twenty but you know what I meanâ
âI know babyâ she laughs. âYou wanna head home now? Show me that onesie you bought?â
âThat sounds perfectâ you hop off her lap and intertwine your hand with hers as she stands. âYou know Iâm a little sore, I could do with a bubble bath with my wife. Seeing as the unit chief needs to make it up to meâ
âI think that can be arrangedâ she smirks leaning in to captures your lips.

"She was art, more beautiful than Van Gogh's paintings, than Capitu's eyes and Chico Buarque's music. No art by Pablo Picasso could hold a candle to his lines. She was those metaphors with deep meaning. She was those books that The more you read, the more you wanted to go deeper. Days could pass, she always surprised me. It didn't matter where she was or who she was with. Everyone could be looking at me, but it was in her that I saw myself."
She is simply beautiful. Your smile makes me smile with absolute ease and almost... Silliness. I sound like I'm obsessed, but Emily Prentiss is simply a comfort character for me.

Summary: Emily and you had been dating for a few months and now you're brother had found out (set around season 3 or 4)
A/n: OK, so this is the first time I've ever written for Em. I hope it's okay? Hope it's not too ooc. Would be delighted by a comment or repost!!! <3
â ----------------------------------------â
âCome on, babe. He wonât rip your head off.â You nearly whined and gave Emily the best puppy eyes you could manage. Youâd been dating her for a few months now, it was all still very fresh, but you really liked her. A lot.
Your brother, Aaron Hotchner, was the Unit Chief of the BAU and sometimes brought you in for cases. You worked as a childrenâs psychiatrist and had turned out to be very helpful on cases involving children. In any form, as victims, as witnesses and as UnSubs. On one of those cases, you had met Emily Prentiss. Truth be told, she had caught your eye immediately, but it had taken you three more cases to actually ask her out. She was amazing, not to mention absolutely gorgeous. She was smart and quick-witted, an amazing Profiler, adorable with kids and really funny. And after you had started dating you had learned that she loved with all she had. And it was wonderful.
Except for one thing. She was afraid of telling your brother. Emily hadnât been on the team for long, and now she hooked up with his baby sister? Heâd kill her. Or at least thatâs what she assumed. She didnât know Aaron like you did. He could be stoic and serious at work, but he was a sweetheart and a wonderful brother. He loved you and all he wanted was you to be happy. He might need some time adjusting, but he could never be mad for long.
âHeâll kill me, Tesoro. Heâs only just warmed up to me.â She grumbled and you knew that was true. Her start on the team had been a bit bumpy. The whole situation was ridiculous. The two of you were cramped in about the smallest room in the whole building. A little storage room. You could feel some sort of utensils press into your spine, and you saw a box of pencils just over Emilyâs shoulder. All in all, ridiculous to talk about something like this, at work, while hiding.
âNo, he will not, Emily.â You pressed on, your hand still on her hip. Truthfully it didnât really have anywhere else to go in this cramped space. âIt might shock him a bit, but heâll come around. Please, Em. You know how important Aaron is to me. I want him to know.â You explained what you had explained at least five times before and again gave her puppy dog eyes she rarely could refuse.
You could see her melt under your gaze and just as she wanted to answer the door to the small room opened, and you were faced with your brotherâs usual serious expression. His expression didnât change much, but you could see a subtle twitch of his eyes. His eyes wandered from you to Emily and back to you again. âOffice. Both, now.â And he was gone. Emily groaned and closed her eyes.
âItâll be fine, Em.â You tried to reassure her. You knew heâd probably be more disappointed than anything, cause you hadnât told him. He didnât even know you liked women. Emily let her head fall against your shoulder. âWe had a nice few months, dolcezza. But I think Iâm walking into my own death now.â She really had a hang for drama. Playfully you slapped her shoulder and chuckled.
âDonât be ridiculous. Come on, babe.â You said and took her hand to lead her into your brother's office. No point in hiding it now. Besides, you had the suspicion that Penelope had known right from the start and that meant that at least Derek knew as well. And JJ was perceptive, Spencer on the other hand not so much for a Profiler. But what does it matter?
You led Emily through the bullpen and up the few steps right to Aaronâs office door. It was open, and your brother was already looking at you. No need to knock, you thought. You simply stepped inside, Emily practically needing to be dragged in there behind you. You motioned her to close the door and very reluctantly she let go of your hand to do so.
Aaron got up and rounded his desk, standing in front of you, his hands in his pockets. His features softened visibly. The way they did at work only if you were around. Or if Jack came to visit. âWhy didnât you tell me you like women?â He asked, and you saw a hint of surprise on Emilyâs face in the corner of your eye. She didnât know that he didnât know. But contrary to what she probably believed now it hadnât been because you were scared to come out or anything. You simply shrugged.
âI thought Iâd tell you if Iâll ever get a girlfriend and then I kind of never did.â You said and looked at him a bit sheepishly. âBut now I do.â You said and smiled proudly, which warmed Emilyâs heart immediately and calmed her immensely. Aaron even cracked a very small smile. Then he looked at Emily at the small vanished. You grabbed Emâs hand and squeezed it reassuringly.
âYouâve been here little more than a year and start dating my sister, Prentiss?â He said and studied Emily. You could say he was profiling her. Emily opened her mouth, no doubt to defend herself. But Aaron gave her not a second. âRemember, Iâm your superior. Hurt her, and youâll fly off this team faster than you can blink.â You had to hide a small giggle. Aaron rarely played protective brother. It was a bit funny to see almost all colour fade from Emilyâs face. She interrogated Serial Killers, but your brother was too much.
âAlright, Aaron. Enough of that.â You said and drew his attention back to you. He softened a bit again and pulled you into a rare hug. No words. Just a hug. And that was enough. Then he rounded his desk and sat down again.
âYou're invited for dinner on Saturday.â He said right before you were out of his office. It nearly looked comedic, the way everything in Emilyâs face fell as soon as she heard him. You quickly closed the office door behind you and grabbed her hands.
Emily wasnât the relationship type. She hadnât had a lot of them, and they had never been very long. Or at least thatâs what she had told you. She was always afraid of somehow fucking it up. You squeezed her hands until she was looking at you.
âItâll be fine. He didnât rip your head off now, he wonât on Saturday. And Jack will love you, which is basically the way to Aaronâs heart.â It did little to calm the brunette. She swallowed hard and nodded slowly.
âWhat do I wear? How do I act? Do I buy him something? Wine? Iâve never done this before, dolcezza.â She rambled, and it would have been cute if she hadnât looked so worked up.
âYouâll wear something nice. Which you always do. I promise Aaron will just be wearing a T-shirt. You act like yourself which is the way I love you. And wine is a good idea but absolutely not necessary.â You assured her, answering one question after another. You had been so concerned about calming her that you hadnât really thought about the exact words you had used.
âLove?â She asked a bit perplexed. Maybe it was a bit early but with Emily? How could you not love her. You grinned a bit stupidly. âOf course, you idiot.â She cracked a smile at that, and you were very thankful for that. Youâd walk through hell to see that smile.
âTi amo anch'io, tesoro.â She whispered against your lips, having leaned in. The kiss was a bit sloppy, cause you were both smiling like lovesick idiots. Which you kind of were.
âOh my god, this is adorable!â A very excited voice called through the bullpen, unmistakably Penelopeâs. Emily and you broke apart, laughing softly. You stood incredibly close to each other, hands still intertwined. Both your head turned, and you werenât surprised to see the whole team stare at you. Most of them just smiled knowingly. Spencer looked like he had missed about twenty chapters, which her kind of had. His head turned from us to JJ next him.
âWha-?â Everyone just laughed fondly. Everything was fine.

So I have an idea for a fluffy one where the reader is new to the BAU and has never been on a plane before and is nervous flying and itâs Emily comforting them
Or a more smutty one where Reader is over at Emilyâs house or at a party or something and they decide to sneak away and end up playing strip poker

Warning: anxiety over flying?
Summary: it's your first time flying on the BAU Jet or any plane in general, and you're a bit panicked. Emily calms you.
A/n: It's a pretty short one, but quite cute!! I have the second request in my notes, can't promise I'll write it tho!! Hope you like it anon <3 Would love a repost or comment!!
â ----------------------------------------â
This was definitely not normal, was it? Surely you would die now. This was it. You had survived fights with Serial Killers, abductions and an explosion of a bomb. But the first plane ride in your life was that one step too far. That one step that just wasn't justified anymore. You were going to die today.
"Hey, you alright?" Derek's voice cut through your thoughts as he walked past you, stopping for a moment to take a look at you. You were gripping the arm rests like they'd alone keep you alive, and your face felt like it had to be as white a sheet.
"Perfectly fine." You pressed out and gave him a smile that even felt painful. Judging by the face he made, it also looked painful. But thankfully he didn't press the matter and simply walked away.
You shut your eyes again, desperately trying not to panic as the flight gets a bit bumpy. You leaned your head back against the seat and took a deep breath. Just when you thought you'd calmed a bit you hit an air pocket.
You practically felt your heart sink into your stomach, your hand desperately flying to the closest living thing to get comfort from. Which in this case happened to be Emily's leg. She had it propped up on her seat, while reading a book.
As she felt your hand tightly grip onto her leg she looked up from her book surprised. You were honestly too panicked to even register anything. Your eyes were closed, fingers digging into Emily's leg and breathe a bit shaky. You just opened your eyes when you felt a warm hand on your own.
"Hey, what's wrong?" Emily softly asked you as you looked at her. You gave her an apologetic look and loosened your grip a bit, her fingers immediately intertwining themselves with yours. It did wonders to soothe your racing heart.
But just until you hit another air pocket. You squeezed her hand, so tightly it must have surely cut off the blood flow. Realisation crept over her face and her features softened immensely.
"Are you afraid of flying?" She asked, her thing gently brushing over your knuckles. The plane stabilised, and the flight got less bumpy, so you relaxed a bit.
"Apparently. Never flown before today." You admitted and shrugged. It was your first flight ever, and it turned out you did not like it at all. Emily nodded understandingly.
"You know, nothing is going to happen. Turbulence or air pockets are not dangerous. Spencer once said plane crashes mostly occur in the first five minutes or the last eight minutes of the flight." Emily spoken trying to calm you. She had probably not given the information out completely correct, but that didn't really matter. It still slightly calmed you.
"We're right in the middle of it, so it's very improbable that we'll crash." She spoke, voice still soft and soothing. She gave you a reassuring smile that actually helped. You weren't sure what exactly it was about her, but Emily never failed to calm you. In the few weeks you'd been working with the team, Emily had always been the one you had turned to for questions or advice.
"Sorry that I'm so anxious." You apologised, trying to laugh it off nervously. Emily simply shook her head.
"No, it's okay. Flying can be scary." How could one person be so sweet? She didn't judge you, didn't make fun of you or mock you. She simply assured you.
"Why did you never fly before?" She asked gently, her thumb still brushing over your knuckles. You realised it was an attempt to distract you. But you didn't mind.
"We never really had money to go anywhere far away and pay for plane tickets. So we stayed close to home." You explained and shrugged. A life very different to Emily's as the ambassador's daughter.
"We used to always do road trips though. My sister and I could pick the music, and we always got Fast Food. It was the only time we were allowed McDonald's." You spoke, a slight hint of nostalgia in your voice. It had been an obvious attempt to calm you, but it had been efficient nonetheless. You were feeling much calmer.
It became routine. In the plane you sat next to Emily, and she held your hand throughout the whole flight. No matter how long it was. And she always fluid something to talk about, something to get your mind off of the fact that you were much higher up in the sky than was ever meant for human beings. Emily knew you couldn't avoid the plane rides. It was part of the job. But she did her best to make them easier for you.
