just a small g/t thought...
Imagine problems facing g/t families or relationships. Literally anything can happen here! The normal aspects of relationships and everyday life can be awful. For example:
1) Kissing? it can be cute, but when you really think about it, it can also be stressful and challenging. Imagine the stress before the first kiss..
2) sleeping in one bed causes fear of hurting the other
3) living in one house with a desire for even the slightest independence? no chance for the tiny!
4) sex life is (probably) out of the question
5) family/friends hatred for this relationship
6) when you decide to have a child, problems related to g/t parenting (a million i could name)
Living in such a relationship/family is indeed a challenge.
g/t hear me out
I think we don't appreciate g/t parenting stories enough.
thank you for reading.
Family 1/? (g/t parenting story)
Warning:
Mention of Foster care, fear
--------
Summary:
Mark and James are 36 years olds. They've been together since they were teens and have been happyly married for a long time. They want to be parents, that's why they have been trying to adopt from the foster system for 5 years now, but for unspecified reasons their family case is on hold and there is no child/children they could adopt despite their excellent results on the course for a foster/adoptive family.
Cain is a 14-year-old borrower who takes care of his 8-year-old little sister - Lizzie - since their parents are gone. The kids have just moved into a new house, and not knowing human's schedule, Cain can't go borrowing yet, but Lizzie has an idea..
----------
James POV:
"I can't believe it!" shouts Mark "Why are they sending a refusal again?!"
"I don't know," I say in a shaky voice. So many years of trying to adopt yet nothing. We meet all the needs of a child, we have well-paid jobs, a large house, competences, great results after the adoption course, we have everything and yet they do not want to let us become parents. They don't want us to be happy. I start crying.
"Don't cry baby" Mark says softly. He sits on the floor across from me and looks me straight in the eyes "We're fine honey. We passed all the tests, we did the best we could. They're the assholes who don't want to give us a baby but remember we are going to be daddies. We're going to have a wonderful family and we will have our lovely baby at home with us and we will love them so much."
"You promise?" i sob.
"I promise"
-----
Cains POV:
"Lizzie, please be quieter!" I yell at my sister when she plays too loudly. We just moved and in a new house, we have to be extra careful. Not that we can normally be loud, the life of the borrower does not allow it. It's hard for me to rebuild a shelter in our new hideout, but I'll manage! I'm sure it will be okay. This place seems quiet and has a lot of space. I think that in two or three weeks we will be feeling at home. Not that we really should or could feel like that way somewhere, but it would be nice to stay somewhere a little longer.. I hope there are no children or pets in this house. That would cause a lot of worry. I only saw two adult men so far, but there are a lot of toys around the house so it looks like there is a child here, although with such peace and quietness I can doubt it.
"Cain, silly, stop worrying" I hear Lizzie say before tapping my head.
"Yeah, sorry" I sigh. "But in a new house we have to be ultra careful, okay? We can't be loud. We also have to be very good because there are new people here and we don't know their schedule. That's why I can't go borrowing for now and we have to bravely endure" I say in a nice tone to my little sister, who sits on my lap and hugs me. How are we going to survive without food? But risking going out in a new house is too dangerous..
"But we don't have any food left!" says Lizzie. God, raising a little girl alone is so hard. I wish dad and mom were here. They would know what to do. They would take care of us, I wouldn't have to be afraid or worry about food, they would take care of everything. I miss them. It's been almost 3 years since they were caught. It's been almost 3 years since we lost them. It's been almost 3 years since I have to take care of my sister and myself. I'm only 14, raising a child and borrowing is very difficult at that age! But I know no other borrowers would help us. Nobody helps orphans. We have no choice. We have to live like this. I have to do everything I can for the sake of Lizzie, my only family left. She needs me.
"I can't borrow today, I have to look at human's behavior first, but I'll bring food as soon as I can"
----------
Lizzies POV:
It's been 3 days without food. Cain is afraid to go borrowing. It's stupid, you can't live without food! I don't think he knows that. He told me that as far as he knew, there were only two adult humans in the house, which is probably a good thing. I don't understand why he won't go, he's good at borrowing, no human has ever seen him. And I think humans in general are stupid. They would never catch Cain or me. Because he's so afraid, I will be brave and fetch the food myself! He will see how big I am now and that he doesn't have to be so afraid for me and that he doesn't have to do everything alone. I take his hook and go. He's sleeping right now so it must be very late. We already have a tunnel to the kitchen, so getting food should be easy. I walk out of the tunnel onto the kitchen counter.
"Easy" I whisper to myself. Why was he so worried? It is very easy-pesy. It's my first time in a completely open space. Everything is so big, actually it's super cool! Why doesn't he ever take me with him?! It's so cool outside! The only problem is I can't see any food. That's bad. I need food. I look around and see a cupboard up. It's not that far. I just need to throw Cain's hook to get to stick and climb up. Relax. I throw and it really sticks. I knew I was talented! I start climbing and reach the very top. I peek inside and see chips. I'm so hungry. They look so appetizing as if they were begging me to eat them. I try to open the cupboard door, but it won't even move. "Why don't you open?!" I gets upset. I don't like that it's starting to get hard. I try to open harder. Still nothing. Finally, I pull with all my might. Oh no. The door opens and pushes me down. I'm attached to the hook's ld cord but I get tangled. I scream as I fall. I don't think it's loud though. That means I didn't get anyone's attention, which means humans are still asleep like stupid mice. But that also means I didn't scream loud enough to wake Cain. What will I do now?! I'm tangled up and can't to move at all. I'm a little scared. It's a silly lie. I'm very scared! I'm out in the open and there's absolutely nothing I can do. Doing anything without Cain was a bad idea. I start crying. I want to go back to our hideout, to my brother.. It must be a nightmare. I cry trying to break free. I need Cain! What if humans will wake up?! I'm so scared... Right now I'm hearing something. Sounds weird. Very unheard of on such a large scale. Almost like… footsteps?! Oh no. No no no!!
---------
James POV:
It's quite early, already around 5am, even though it's still rather dark outside. I should be getting ready for work now. I could have slept 15 more minutes but I got up because I was thirsty but now I have to go to the kitchen for another reason. I don't know what it was, but I heard a noise. It was weried, almost like a scream. But that's impossible, no one can scream that quiet. And there's no way anyone else was in our house, it didn't sound like a thief. As far as I know, bugs can't scream either - but I'm not sure, I slept in biology classes - and it's impossible for any of the talking toys we bought to activate on their own. I go into the kitchen and for a moment I don't see anything strange. It's really dark, so I can't tell if anything is out of the ordinary. I turn on the light and look around the room. I really don't see anything wrong, the room looks like any other day, no one else seems to be in it but me, everything is where it should be, even the toys seem untouched. Maybe it's just my imagination? I don't sleep very well because of all the stuff going on with the foster system and I think too much, so maybe I'm finally going crazy? Has my mind started playing tricks on me? Damn, am I really going insane? That would be a new killer for me and Mark, and then I can be sure they'll take away our licenses and we'll never be dads. Sweet Universe, I know it's hard to become parents, but we're wonderful people. Although my madness really wouldn't be good for our future baby. I need to drink water and maybe take some sedatives. I go to the cupboards to get a glass of water and that's when I hear it. A sob. Wait, what? I look around the cupboards. There is something unusual about one of them. There's a little string and.. a tiny child?!

fear, angst, hurt/comfort, course words, speaking of mental ilnesses, it's rather fluffy i think..
--------------------------
James POV:
It froze me in place. I couldn't take my eyes off it. Was it real? It looked so real even though it sounded like a lie. Like a fairy tale. Or have I really lost my mind. My head is playing tricks on me. Or maybe still dreaming? I'm fucking mental! What the-
I stop overthinking about all the possible scenarios as I hear more sobs leave this tiny child. It's crying. It's real. This baby is really here. And it's crying. I observe it. She looks like a little girl, possibly no older than 7, and very skinny. Her blonde hair falls all over her face and her tiny (I think) ocean blue eyes turn red with tears. Her whole body is bound with a rope from which it looks like she can't get free from. She looks terrified. She looks like she can't move, she breaths deep between sobs, and every single tear falling down her tiny face breaks my heart into a million pieces. I just want to grab, hug and comfort her, but I'm pretty sure that would scare her even more. I must look like a monster in her eyes! She tugs at the rope, probably wanting to be as far away from me as physically possible. Still, I can't leave her like this, she's still a small child and at this point she can hurt herself.
"Hi" I say in the softest tone I can manage. I whisper very quietly, because I'm afraid that even a little louder might scare her even more. Her little oceans close on my eyes. Her whole body begins to tremble horribly. She cries harder and harder, each tear breaking my heart more and more.
"I promise it's all okay, I won't hurt you sweetheart" I say very gently without taking my eyes off her tiny, terrified body.
"There, let me help you" I say as I bring my hands closer to her. I just want to untangle her, but when she sees my hands coming, she only panics more and screams:
"No, no, no! Mr. Giant, please don't kill me! No! Cain! Cain!!"
Her cries and screams make my blood go cold. I pull my hands away from as quickly as possible.
"Okay, I understand, no touching. Sweetheart, you're safe, I won't hurt you" I repeat, but the tiny child doesn't seem to believe me. She only struggles more and her cries get louder. I didn't want to scare her, I meant to help! Although now that I think about it, I'm really huge compared to her. I understand that she's scared, but I can't leave her like this because she'll hurt herself. I have to help her somehow. I look around the kitchen for something to help me. I see one of the stuffed animals, a tiny one, probably not much bigger than this girl. An elephant. A pink elephant that Mark and I bought some time ago. It was so small that it easily fit in my hand. I quickly grabbed it and looked back at the kid.
"Hello sweetpea, this is Mr. Elephant. Mr. Elephant is very worried about you and wants to help you. Will you let him?" I speak very quietly and gently, showing her the toy, hoping it will work. The tiny girl looks at me from time to time for a moment, but she can't take her eyes off the toy. I can see that she wants to hug it, but she can't. It works!
"It's okay honey, Mr. Elephant will help untie you and then you'll give him a big hug, okay?" I speak very softly and carefully, taking advantage of the fact that since she has focused on the toy, she cries less and calms down. I approach her with a toy in my hand and when I don't see any negative reaction I get close enough for her to touch the toy as I grab the top of the rope with my other hand and lift it, incredulous how light this child is. As soon as I manage to lift the rope, I lower the toy on the countertop located under the girl and put her on my hand. Fear returns to her eyes.
"It's okay sweetheart, Mr. Elephant has no fingers so I have to help him untie you, but you're about to give him a big hug" I say as I start to untangle her. She's shaking, you can tell she's scared, but she's trying to be brave, she doesn't cry that much. Every now and then I whisper some gentle words to her to comfort and calm her down, until I finally manage to untangle her.
"You did amazing, you're very brave" I say, putting the stuffed animal next to her in my hand and she immediately hugs it tight. I smile to myself and place my finger gently on her back, massaging it. At first she looks like she wants to push me away and run away crying, but after a while she calms down and doesn't run away from my touch.
"I'm James. What's your name sunshine?" I ask as I slowly walk over and sit down in a chair by the table. The tiny girl doesn't respond for a moment and looks like she's about to panic again, but then she manages to say a quiet:
"Lizzie"
------------------
Cains POV:
I just woke up and I knew something was wrong. Or more likely everything was wrong. Lizzie wasn't with me. I searched the entire hideout, but I couldn't find her here. I checked my stuff afterwards and it turned out she had taken my bag and hook. She went borrowing. I can not believe it! How could I have let this happen?! What if something happens to her?! How if a human finds her? I have to go save her!
----------------
Marks POV:
I heard strange noises coming from the kitchen. I knew James was already up but I didn't understand what's going on so I decided to go.
"Hey, hey, there's no reason to cry" I heard my husband's voice. I walked into the kitchen and saw that he was sitting at the table holding a stuffed elephant in his hands. Oh no. He went crazy.
"Baby?" I said in a worried voice as I stepped closer.
"Honey, please stay calm and quiet, you'll scare her" he said in a soft voice. Oh hell. He's lost his mind. He really lost his mind.
"Baby, please put that stuffed animal away. It's a girl, right?" I speak in a soft tone. I don't want to scare him. Who knows what it will be now? Should I call an ambulance? James stares at me askance for a moment, then has a sort of epiphany.
"I'm not talking about that stuffed animal. Come closer, look" he says, I decide to listen to him. I move closer and see that he has something else in his hands. I look and see... a little girl. Oh my God.
We are both insane!

Foster care, being scared, trauma, vore, fearplay

Kai and Harper had a difficult relationship from the very begining. Their situation was difficult because suddently they had to face the fact that they were somehow dependent on the other, even though they didn't want to be.
See, Harper was a giant. She lived with her giant adoptive parents practically since birth (since she was 4 months old) and she couldn't handle the fact that her parents decided to become foster parents to a human.
Kai had, let's say, a hard childhood. They had a huge trauma caused by giants. They did trust noone, especially the bigger people. Their foster parents turned out to be amazing people, but you cannot say the same about their new "sister".
Today the situation between the siblings became.. aggressive. Kai and Harper were home alone.
Luck had it, just when Harper decided to go down to the kitchen her "sibling" was there. Long story short, Kai's mere presence annoyed Harper, and Harper's annoyance scared Kai. When the girl realised how scared the younger one was she got mad and started yelling at them.
"Fine!" she screamed as tears were streaming down Kai's face and they were shaking in horror "If you see me as a monster, I'll show you a monster!".
She just wanted to give them a lesson. Just a lesson. She really didn't want to hurt them. She wasn't a bad person, she was just.. sick of them.
She didn't think and.. and.. before she knew what she had done, Kai was in her storage.

Stargazing
!❤️No warning this time, just fluff❤️!
----------------------
Jade just woke up. Once she realised she's alone in the bed, she got up almost immediately, dressed, and went downstairs.
When she went down to the kitchen, she saw Miles.
Miles was making breakfast, humming along to his favorite song. He was wearing a business suit covered by an apron. He was focused on making breakfast until he turned off the pan and began to pour the food. Instantly his big, beautiful brown eyes focused on his tiny wife.
"Good morning honey. How did you sleep?" he said in a gentle tone as he prepared the plates and cutlery.
"Good morning sweetheart, okay but it would be better if we were still in bed" she giggled.
"True" Miles laughed. Meanwhile, Jade came onto the table and sat down at her small table. She watched her husband serve food on their childrens plates. Everything was perfect. She couldn't believe that she'd once been afraid of him, that once Miles hadn't been her whole world. Now she couldn't imagine her life without him and without the kids.
"Kids!" Miles yelled. Jade sighed as she looked lovingly at her husband.
"What? My sunshine needs affection?" the man laughed and leaned in to kiss his wife.
Although it was probably their billionth kiss, Jade felt the same way as if it was the first one. She couldn't describe how much she loved this giant for his tenderness, love, ambition, hard work and for just being himself. When they broke apart for a moment, she looked deep into his eyes. Everything she was looking for was in his eyes. There were stars in his eyes that shone for her. He leaned in for a kiss again.
"Ew!" shouted their older daughter.

Foster care, being scared, trauma
Characters:
T!Tommy, T!Wilbur, T!Techno, G!Phil
------------------
Tommy, Wilbur and Techno were brothers. Or rather, that's what they wanted to be called. They were abandoned children (or more likely teenagers) from their town. They had no families, so they just had each other.
Of course, it's hard for children their age to cope, especially when people on the street harass you so much, going as far as... No, we don't want to talk about it.
The boys tried their best to cope. Really. They did everything to protect each other, but when a guard chased them for stealing food (which they needed because they hadn't eaten for several days) they ran into the forest. This forest was known for dark stories about monsters, but it was their only escape route.
They were very surprised when they did not encounter bloodthirsty monsters in this forest, but a nice man who (not behaving too suspiciously for a freak living with beasts) invited them to his house and took care of them.
It was Phil. Or rather, their new dad.
Everything was going great, Phil took care of the boys and their lives become peaceful and safe until one day when...
A forest fire caused Phil to reveal his terrible secret to save his sons' lives.
Phil turned out to be a... giant.
#G/t prompt 2
Imagine a couple, who were blessed with a baby, but unfortunately the woman miscarried, which filled couple's hearts with despair and helplessness.
Fast forward few days, and the couple stumbles upon a baby, but this baby isn't an ordinary one - they're huge, bigger than woman and man themselves.
The couple, however, doesn't back away in fear. Despite the absurdity of the situation, they see that the baby giant is just that - a baby, who needs love, care and home.
They don't hesitate to give the enormous infant that.
Meanwhile, in the other dimension, the spirits of baby giant's biological parents, who were took down because of misunderstanding, are taking care of a little soul of the unborn baby, the one that once belonged to the couple which is taking care of their little giant.
Both surrogate families do everything in their power to ensure that babies know they're loved and needed.
But it also can be applied to borrowers and humans - humans taking care of the baby borrower, spirits of borrowers taking care of the human baby spirit or vice versa.
#G/T story 1
Philemon was smirking at the sight of the trembling people he was passing by. It's not like he liked them, they treated giants like crap, the least he could do was to intimidate them a little.
Many decades ago humanity subjugate giants' race, thanks to a chip they had injected into every single giant. With one press of a special button, chip was ending giant's life in a blink of an eye. That's why big folks had to obey humans, otherwise they were met with death itself.
All giants were homeless, some of them found refuge in vacants, others were forced to live in forests, on the beaches or in the mountains.
Giants' main task was to disposing trash by eating it, since they were known for their hard teeth, lack of taste sense and stomachs made out of steel - that's why trash never made them sick. Thanks to it, humanity got rid of dumps and could transform it into better places. For humans, of course.
And that's where Philemon was heading to. He was responsible for emptying preschools', elementary schools', middle schools' and high schools' trash cans.
He stopped by Pinewood Elementary School - the first school on his list. He patiently waited for trash cans to be taken out. As soon as three large plastic boxes full of trash were exposed to Philemon, he snatched one of them and having lifted it up to his mouth, he let the content enter his mouth. After he swallowed it, he set the first trash can down and was about to empty second one, when he noticed with a corner of his eye a small movement behind it.
Giant swiftly lifted up the trash can and became greatly surprised, when he saw what - or rather who - had been hiding behind it.
Little human girl was something like out of "The Little Match Girl". She was wearing dirty brown dress with a hood sewed out from several patches. She had caramel brown messy long braided up hair. Her eyes were green, her face was dotted with multiple freckles.
Philemon was confused. She didn't seem like other children he had met before, quite the opposite - she was skinny, she seemed tired, sad and scared. And most importantly - she was alone. There was no sign of an adult, who could potentially be her guardian.
As soon as little girl's existence was discovered, she whimpered at the sight of the massive being and having ran off a little, she huddled against school's wall.
Giant shrugged it off and emptied second trash can. But when he was about to end third one, he saw as girl was looking at it, while licking her lips. And that's when it dawned on giant, that she was just like him - homeless and hungry.
He shouldn't have cared. He should have been happy that she'll die before she learns to despise and torture giants. But looking down at her pathetic little form, Philemon felt weird feeling in his heart. Perhaps compassion?
He sighed quietly and having moved trash can closer to little girl, he tilted it, causing content to fall out of it.
Small girl timidly tiptoed to the trash mountain and began to pick up edible, not rotten food and stuffed it in her satchel hanging over her arm.
After she filled her bag, she looked into giant's eyes and then ran off to God knows where.
Giant ate rest of trash and stood up, turning his footsteps towards another school.
***
But it wasn't the end. It was just a beginning.
Everyday, as soon as Philemon shown up at Pinewood Elementary School, little girl was appearing out of nowhere and kept giant company, hoping he would share his "meal" with her.
Philemon quickly get accustomed to her presence and he eagerly helped her with getting food from trash cans - it wasn't like he was starving when he was sharing it with her.
He would never have imagined helping a human, they didn't deserve sympathy. So what made this girl different? Perhaps her young age and fact that she was alike him made Philemon's stony heart sensitive.
***
Giant had just emptied last trash can assigned to him, when he heard a distant rumble and felt few raindrops splashing on his cheeks. He tighter wrapped his coat around him and began to going back to his vacant he claimed few months ago.
But when he reached Pinewood Elementary School area, a faint sob came to his ears. Giant followed the sound and saw his little companion, laying in the large cardboard box, being covered with now completely soaked newspapers. She was trembling from the cold and was quietly crying to herself.
Without thinking long, Philemon reached his hand and clasped it over her. With his second hand he pulled a cloth out of his left pocket and then wrapped it tightly around the girl.
After that, he gently pressed her against his chest and resumed going back to his vacant.
***
It didn't take long for giant to reach his place. He carefully sat down and having removed his hand from his chest, looked at the little girl.
She was now sleeping, her paleness was now replaced with pink cheeks and she wasn't trembling anymore. She was hugging giant's thumb, as if it was a teddy bear.
Philemon tried to gently get her off from his hand, to move her on probably more comfortable mattress, but she clutched more onto his thumb in response.
He sighed quietly and began to gently stroke her back with his other hand. After that, he gently laid down, watching his movements, not wanting to hurt little human.
"Oh Philemon, what have you got yourself into?" he thought grumpily before falling asleep with little girl still sleeping on his hand.
ive been thinking about the trope where the big is (usually significantly) older than the tiny, and i just wanna put a twist on things, to make it more interesting (not that i find it boring its actually one of my favorite tropes)
soo here are my ideas:
Big may be much older than small but still sorta young and inexperienced with kids. Maybe like 16 - 18 year old trying to take care of some child they found one night, maybe in their 20's with no experience with kids as either the youngest or only child, yk something like that
Big doesnt realize the small is a kid/tween, likely because they look older than they actually are. This is really good angst material when big figures out the truth, either by the tiny telling them or some other way. either way, i NEED it.
anyway just some silly little ways to spice up your parental g/t =3
feel free to suggest/add more to the list!
Ahhh! I’m loving this! I’ve also gotten a few asks for other requests so I’ll get to writing them! Thank you for the request
Hey! So it’s nearing that time of year again (exam season) when my motivation decides to kick in. I really want to get back into writing and to start updating my stories. To help with that though I feel a good way to get back into writing would be to do some prompts/oneshots!
If anyone has any that they would like me to try, or anyone has any requests, send me a message! I’d really appreciate it
3 GT stories ideas
I want a story about a teenager is forced to take care of their younger siblings and something happens and they start slowly turning into a giant and it to be a metaphore for how it feels like they are growing up to quickly from stepping up to do more adult jobs for their siblings and the bigger they got the more they feel they're losing the possibity of a normal childhood.
I want a story of two friends who one keeps slowly growing and the other slowly shrinking and they have to race against time to fine a cure before they either get to big or to small which results in them having to help eachother out with new task from their changing sizes
I want a story where giant adopts a human and the human doesnt find their parent odd till they explore more of the world and realize that their parents size is unually to humans (bonus points if the human is still a kid when they hear about how humans feel about giants)

Got Sofia draped over Dustin’s shoulders like how kids will hang off of tables and counters to see over them
Tantrum
Sofia is normally a pretty well-behaved child but there are times when her feelings get too big and she will act out.
.
.
.
“Sofia, pumpkin, it's time to get ready for bed.” The girl's father walked over to the table she was playing on. He watched as the tiny girl stacked some blocks into the shape of a home for her stuffed rabbit.
“Five more minutes?” She looked up at her father with pleading eyes. “Bunny needs his castle.” She turned and picked up the soft blue rabbit plush and placed him on a blocky throne in the middle of the castle walls.
“You already had five more minutes sweetheart, you can keep playing in the morning.”
“But…” The girl began, a pout forming on her face.
“No buts Sofia. You need a bath.” Dustin placed his hand palm up on the table for Sofia to climb on.”
“No.” The girl fell to the floor in an attempt to resist.
“Sof…” The giant began.
“NO! No no no no no!” Sofia threw herself around on the floor kicking at Dustin’s hand.
“Sofia. Please.” Dustin watched as his tiny daughter kicked and thrashed around clearly unable to process her emotions at the moment. She rolled and got too close to the table's edge for Dustin’s comfort. His hand shot out and curled under her to prevent her from falling.
“Sofia…” He began to try calming the child but was interrupted by a sharp pain in his thumb. “Ow! Mother…” The man trailed off, “Sofia did you just bite me?” He moved the thrashing girl into his other hand and looked at his thumb. Red marks had formed alongside tiny tooth marks. He frowned and made eye contact with his daughter.
The little girl had worn herself out and began to cry. Tears ran down her cheeks as she lay in her father's hand.
“I’m sorry.” The child said between sobs. The giant looked down at his daughter and wiped her cheek with his finger.
“It’s alright Pumpkin.” He picked up her stuffed rabbit and placed it on her lap. She pulled it to her chest and rested her head on his palm. “Do you want to talk about what is upsetting you? Dustin sat on the floor and looked at his daughter.
“I wanted to play. I wanted to finish.”
“I know sweetheart but it’s time to get ready for bed, you have to get your sleep. Why don’t we save the blocks for tomorrow, play with a few bath toys for a little while, and then we can read a bedtime story? He stroked her hair and wiped her remaining tears away with a finger.
“Ok.” The girl looked at her father.
“Oh, but next time? Let's talk out those feelings instead of turning into a little shark. Sound good?” He poked her stomach and watched as she let out a giggle.
He stood up, cupping Sofia to his chest. He helped her get ready and they crawled into his bed. As the little girl lay on her father's chest he read her a story. He held the book in his palm as Sofia flipped the pages.
Slowly Sofia drifted to sleep until she stopped turning the pages altogether. Dustin gently lifted his daughter and placed her in her bed pulling the covers up to her chin. He placed her rabbit next to her and leaned down to kiss the top of her head softly.
“Goodnight pumpkin. I love you.”
