starlight express whistles and horns
poppa/momma i like them
(i based them off a union pacific 844, which makes the “oil is the work of the diesel” line super funny to me)
Hi! For the scribble request... Poppa x Momma x Belle, pls?
yes yes!!! i love the old people polycule!!!
everybody say hello to wally the water pump, a character i came up with like yesterday.
their lore (+extra scribbles) under here!!!!
they’re a pump used to fill steam engines with water, but since the railroad only has two steamers now, they haven’t been working as much as they used to (which has put quite a chip on their shoulder). wally doesn’t really want to engage in the trains’ crazy antics, 1. because they literally cannot move from their stump, 2. they find some of the trains rather annoying and would rather not interact with them, and 3. they enjoy watching the drama play out like a soap opera rather than getting involved. they’d much rather watch the drama play out than get involved.
they do enjoy spending time with old momma/poppa mccoy, since they are able to take things much slower compared to the younger trains, and wally has known them every since they were a young pump (in fact, poppa/momma was the first engine that wally ever filled with water), so wally is quite fond of them. also apparently wally looks like their uncle, a pump who was named rusty, according to their family.
wally and poppa have a “graduated student still keeps in contact with their former teacher” kind of relationship. they called him “mr. mccoy” ever since they were a young pump, and just never broke the habit of calling him that even after they grew up, (likewise applies to momma, as wally still calls her “mrs. mccoy”)
what basically happened after poppa’s blues in the olc
(this was a lot funnier in my head)
based on this:
in any version of starlight express, the line "oil is the work of the diesel himself" is literally so funny because everyone knows what diesel is shorthand for, i also like how this insinuates that poppa/momma looks at any diesel and sees train satan. if we're going by that logic, i guess that means electrics are athiests??????
