hi, I'm back with more of this silly MLP AU that I'm definitely not taking WAYYYYY too seriously

the idea I'm going with for as to WHY Luna was banished is that Celestia has the gift of prophecy as well as the whole sun thing. so she gets a vision of Luna turning evil and to combat that, she just sends her sister off to the moon instead of, I dunno, having a healthy conversation with her sister? and after the fact she spins this tale of the evil Nightmare Moon to justify her actions to her people and she tells it so much that she begins to believe it herself

and then Celestia gets a vision of Luna returning, so she panics and sends Twilight to go study the movements of the stars and moon to ensure that she is prepared for her sister's return. most people think that Celestia is being crazy and/or paranoid but go along with it because she's their queen (did I mention she's queen?) and they have to

and on the Luna side of things, Celestia sending Luna to the moon causes Luna to become the very thing Celestia was trying to avoid and she becomes powerful enough to break free of her prison and return to Equestria with no assistance. she begins becoming the very tale Celestia spun to justify her actions and it's up to Twilight and the gang to work together to restrain her enough to purify her from moon-magic or something, idk all the details

and then on the Cadance side of everything, which occurs after Luna is returned to Equestria, Cadance was locked in battle with her father, Emperor Sombra (instead of King because it's the Crystal EMPIRE not the Crystal KINGDOM), after he killed Empress Amore (the unicorn from the IDW comics, btw (Princess Amore (why are all of the monarchs princesses????))) for full control of the empire. the battle lasts a thousand years and when Cadance finally seals her father away, she can reconnect with old allies

which is when Shining Armor is chosen to act as a diplomat to the Crystal Empire by Celestia to work out some allyship stuff and that's how their relationship starts. and so the union between the new empress of the Crystal Empire and a high-ranking diplomat is a great way to represent the new alliance forming. but Queen Chrysalis gets word of the marriage and of the fact that some of her changelings have fled the hive and are living in Equestria (Fluttershy and her family in this AU). so Chrysalis takes the form of Shining Armor in order to feed off of Cadance's supder duper op crystal magic (bc changelings in my AU feed off of magic instead of love). and then the whole thing happens with the Canterlot wedding but instead it takes place in the Crystal Empire. and maybe this could be where Fluttershy is revealed as a changeling or it's at least hinted at and during later storylines she's outed and it's a major conflict or whatever

i dunno, I'm just pulling stuff out of my ass at this point. and I still haven't figured out how to include Sunset Shimmer in a correct-sounding way so this AU is NOT ready

hi, another addition:

Diamond Tiara's dad, Filthy Rich, replaces Mayor Mare as mayor in this AU because it gives Diamond Tiara a reason to feel superior to the CMC, even if Sweetiebelle's family is literally on-par with DT's

and Spike is Twilight's apprentice, not an egg she hatched and child she raised. he goes to the Canterlot School of Science and Magic as a student but is studying mostly under Twilight, which is why he's able to join her when she moves. he's also going to be a teenager here because it makes a bit more sense in my head. plus it gives me a chance to invent a whole family for him

and Discord! Discord is gonna get a mini overhaul. he's going to claim to be the chaos god and probably is, which is why he was sealed away over a thousand years ago by Celestia, Luna and the then Empress of the Crystal Empire, Amore. this allows him to have some sort of reason to go after Equestria in particular. and maybe he's released from the sheer amount of magic Luna had to use to escape her moon prison, so it cracked his seal and then his prison was completely broken open by some kids who are messing around or something. maybe his statue is in the middle of Starlight Glimmer's village and they worship him like a god and that's how Starlight controls them, because when their chaos god leaves she can step in and claim to be the only one to communicate with him now and she can keep these people in line

tying in Starlight was originally going to be hard for me but now i've just figured it out. thanks, rambling tangets!

back again with more ideas

ok, so I think in the Grand Galloping Gala episode it's mentioned that Blueblood is Celestia's nephew, right? if not, I'm making it canon. Celestia and Luna are sisters with Amore (Amore being the oldest) now and Amore has two kids with her husband. one is Blueblood, who she sent away to Equestria when he was maybe 5-6 or whatever (and Celestia adopts him as her own or something to that measure) when Sombra started his attempts to rule over the empire, trapping Amore in the crystal catecombs to lock away her power. however, she was pregnant with Cadance at the time, so she keeps Cadance hidden until Amore can finally find a way to escape and lead a rebellion against her husband. this leads to Amore's death and gives Cadance a reason to be locked in battle with her father afterwards. so when Cadance finally seals Sombra away, she finally gets to meet her big brother! yay!

and back again with Starlight, she and Sunburst get married for tax benefits before she becomes a cult leader and they have a kid (Luster Dawn from the last episode of season 9) to "keep up appearances" around the same time. this makes her look like a family man (/gender neutral) and allows the people to think of her as even more of a great leader

also, Sunburst and Sunset siblings canon in my heart.

and then Trixie! I had the idea that she's estranged from whatever family she's from in order to pursue her dream of being a performing magician. so I thought why not make her Rarity's older sister! this given Diamond Tiara another reason to tease Sweetiebelle, yay!

speaking of the CMC, I'm making Scootaloo a latchkey kid with parents that hardly pay attention to her because they're always on business trips to Manehattan and stuff. like, her dad is a business man on Wallstreat (or the pony equivalent) and her mom is a model or something like that and they just leave Scootaloo alone at home, hence why Scootaloo latches onto RD because RD (as a police officer) is the only one who looks out for her

and last CMC idea, Apple Bloom gets into fights and shit. just feels in-character to me

i haven't fleshed too many characters out, but these are my ideas so far

Dr. Twilight Sparkle is the head researcher and astrophysicist at the Canterlot School of Science and Magic at only 26 years old! Wow!

Spike, age 17, is Dr. Sparkle's only apprentice and closest confidant

Dr. Sparkle's relationship with her parents is messy, but she's very close to her brother, Shining Armor (who is a diplomat)

Twilight got her degree at only 19 due to how genius she was at such a young age

Twilight is the only member of the Canterlot School who speaks with and hears from Queen Celestia on a regular basis

Spike's family used to live in the Dragon lands but moved to Canterlot when he was a baby

Spike is very proficient at magic, hence why he is allowed to be Twilight's apprentice

Apple Jack is the sheriff of Ponyville and main apple cider brewer in town

AJ and Pinkie's moms are cousins

AJ is a heavy drinker and most nights can be found in the town's combined bakery and bar drinking her woes away

Rainbow Dash is the deputy sheriff of Ponyville and local daredevil

RD used to want to be part of the Wonderbolts performers and the Wonderbolts search and rescue team but later found that being a police officer works better for her

RD is usually the officer who bails Scootaloo out of trouble because she is the only one Scoots listens to

Pinkie Pie often lives in the combined bakery and bar, Sugarcube Corner, with her aunt and uncle, but is a wanderer at heart

Pinkie's family are gem miners for the Queen’s treasury and are very strict about their jobs

Rarity von Gemhouser is from the second most affluent family in Ponyville and is the second daughter

Rarity is the only seamstress/tailor and so on in town and one day hopes to have a fashion brand in Canterlot

Rarity’s older sister, Trixie, is estranged from the von Gemhouser family due to her interest in stage performing. Rarity doesn't like to talk about her older sister

Fluttershy’s family is made up of changelings who didn't want to live under Queen Chrysalis's rule anymore. They have all disguised themselves as pegasai to hide their true identities

Fluttershy is the local vet and loves healing little animals

Fluttershy and Zecora are good friends and often swap techniques

Queen Celestia has the gift of prophecy, which has led to her becoming quite paranoid

Thinking about the Lamb's family in my AU, sigh

Big bro Cotton calls the Lamb "Lamber" because it's cute and he never calls them anything else. And then he teaches them how to properly carry fire wood and how to cut the wheat and so on. Yunno, big manly things

And Sheara and Shep both teach them creative things in art like drawing and sculpting. And Sheara takes them to parties while Shep makes them toys

And then momma Ewebeth teaches them how to sew and knit because you never know when you can't find a tailor

And then the Lamb teaches those things to their followers

All but the art of sewing clothes for sheep

Because no one but the Lamb needs that knowledge anymore

The way I get so viscerally angry at those stupid mobile game ads where the "player" chooses the wrong choice on purpose and goes all "uh wh-what??? Did I chose wrong????" should actually be studied in a lab, because I think my pure anger could power the entirety of New York if you made me watch those ads

When little baby Leshy arrives at the temple of the Old Faith, Narinder isn't happy to have another sibling. He especially doesn't like it when the baby starts BITING him! But as time goes on... well... maybe he finds it a little funny when Leshy starts biting people

a really quick short story to help me with my addiction to the point in time when the Bishops are all happy... and to help me feel motivated to continue writing the main AU too

Anyways, go5 an AU idea that I will not be using so I thought I'd share

Basically, after Dr. Sozonius gets out of rehab, he's allowed to just do as he does whatever. Okay. That's normal

But all of the sudden he starts hearing voices, and not like the fun ones who'd come to see him while he's high.

No, he's haunted by the ghosts of his family (wife, kids, siblings, parents, you name it) instead. And possibly a physical (imagined) manifestation of himself while possessed by the parasite.

And while he struggles with his crippling guilt and also ghosts, Shamura starts trying to make moves on him. Like, he's just sitting there like "I think I need to become an alcoholic" and Shamura goes "ok, but have you considered allowing me to rizz you up?" and the ghosts of Sozonius's family are just chanting at him "ancient sins" or "damn, why that spider kinda fine tho" or something along those lines and the hallucinated Sozo goes "hear me out: you should try 'shrooms again"

And by the end he's just done with it all and just wants to make human connections again, so he confronts his ghost family and they go away. And then he happily goes off to date former gods to his heart's content

The ghost part is inspired by the song Sex With a Ghost by Teddy Hyde, so do with that what you will

Just please credit me if you end up using this idea :)

Chapter 12: Heart Sought

So I have curly hair and it's pretty thick and needs special care

As a result, I need to go to a special stylist to cut my hair (in the next town over because despite the fact that curly-haired people make up, like, 70% of the population, literally no one knows how to cut curly hair!!!!!! 😡)

My stylist is cool. Not only is she pretty but she's got interesting lore (of which this post is NOT about)

Anyways, as she's washing my hair with my special hair products, because my hair is a sensitive lil bitch who needs special products, it's literally the best sensation I will ever feel in my life. I legitimately believe it is better than sex (said the one who’s never had sex). I find myself on the brink of sleep as she rubs shampoo into my goddamn scalp and my brain, for the first time ever, is actually QUIET

Like, goddamn! Get yourself a stylist who does that shit

(Maybe I am touch-starved, but I don't believe that because my family is a very "you must hug everyone the moment you see them" kind of family. You know, a typical large Mormon family (my parents each have seven siblings each. Each sibling has a spouse. Each couple has at least one kid). So I firmly believe it's just my craving for an actual romantic partner who runs their hands through my hair)

Trixie changed her last name to Lulamoon to distance herself from her family... and cuz it's a better stage name than 'von Gemhouser'

Empress Amore, Queen Celestia and Princess Luna's dad is Starswirl the Bearded, who disappeared a couple thousand years before Celestia became Queen

Amore, Celestia and Luna's mom was called Supernova and she had dominion over the stars and deep space as well as being the first queen of Equestria

Celestia sent Luna to the moon due to a vision she had of Luna being evil, which led to Luna becoming the very thing Celestia feared

Celestia spun the tale of Nightmare Moon to justify her actions

Luna became corrupted due to the sheer amount of magic on the moon (because prolonged magic exposure = corruption and/or insanity)

Blueblood is Cadance's older brother and was sent to Equestria when Emperor Sombra started trying to take over the Crystal Empire. Celestia took him in as her own when he arrived

Filthy Rich is the Mayor of Ponyville, therefore feeding into Diamond Tiara's ego

Chrysalis takes Shining Armor's place to feed off of Cadance's magic when hearing about the union between Cadance and Shining

Discord's statue was in Starlight’s village and he was worshipped as a god there

The magic Luna used to break free cracked Discord's prison and allowed for him to be fully set free when some kids were messing around with his statue

Starlight later claims that she can communicate with Discord after he was freed, therefore allowing the people to fall under her manipulation

Diamond Tiara thinks she's better than the CMC because Sweetiebelle's got a stage magician older sister (disgrace), Scootaloo's parents don't care about her and she's got deformed wigs, and Apple Bloom is just lower class

Apple Bloom gets into a lot of fights due to DT's bullying

Scootaloo's parents honestly didn't want her but kept her to make them look better

Scootaloo is sometimes forced to be a child actor when her parents are short on money

Fleur Dis Lis is Scootaloo's aunt who sends her nice gifts and stuff but never sees her cuz she has the same attitude of Scoots's parents

Alicorn = ascending to royalty. Very rare for an alicorn to be born

The Castle of the Three Sisters was where Supernova sent her kids when she didn't want to deal with them

So I have a second original story that I'm, in my head, calling it "the better Warrior Cats" because it's about cats who live in groups and it doesn't have a name

I'm testing the waters to see if this is something other people would like to see

The main character is a cat called Amethyst. She's basically my version of Firestar. She's a ginger cat and comes from outside of the main cat group (however they live far away from humans, so she's not a house cat)

She joins the cat group, but instead of becoming a warrior (or my version of warriors, the role has a different name), she becomes essentially an oracle. It's like a Firestar medicine cat AU but with different characters

Her mentor is the grumpy older cat who gets a prophecy vision about a ginger cat. this character is called Greysight and he's like a healthy mix of Bluestar and Yellowfang

Her best friend is a goofy class clown who is the first to meet her outside of the cat group. This character is named Apricot and she's sort of based on Graystripe and in some cases I added a dash of Ravenpaw and I also sort of added a bit of Sandstorm in the way that she ends up the love interest and her mentor is a very important cat in the cat group (Whitestorm equivalent)

There's no Tigerstar 1 equivalent due to the plot following more of a Broken Code idea but with less possession and lore retcons

I'm also ensuring that ALL of the cat groups are culturally different! The main one has more of a WindClan circa Tallstar's Revenge vibe and there's another one that's super-duper ultra religious. One is kind of like firefighters, basically, but also a healthy mix of what ThunderClan and SkyClan were allegedly supposed to be like. The ancestors are also going to have clear rules and limitations. I want them to be more like arc 1 StarClan but even more mysterious and weird

I'm also going to add new roles that young cats can aspire to be aside from leader-deputy-medicine cat. I'm also separating the medicine cat role into two roles (similar to how Possumbreath does in their own story centered around their OCs)

Also the naming system is going to change a bit to make sure I don't completely copy their system, lol
