I had an assignment for Día de los muertos to make an altar for someone and this is what I did

"Welcome to Earth!"

I'm thinking about this amethyst. Like, imagine you come into existence and the first thing you get is a "welcome" and a hug. Pretty nice, right? Now imagine you find out the person who hugged you is now a traitor and a rebel, who eventually murders the current ruler. And thousand of years later, you find out they were the same person and it was all a big lie.

Did she think about Rose? About how nice she was? The first person to interact with her and in such a loving way? Did she have doubts about Rose being "bad" like the Diamond Authority believed?

This is another AU, here Steven was Blue Diamond's son, and for some reason Rose was disguised as a defective quartz. I like the designs of the Crystal Gems in this one, but the anatomy was really bad

Well, I am creating this au where Steven died and his gem was shattered, then they were both buried in Kindergarten and somehow he was "reborn" without his memories but Pink Diamond's shattered gem is still in him so he has some blurry memories of his previous lifes

I'm literally going insane. For a while, I've been wondering why i feel the way i do about Rose until somebody told me. ROSES ARC WAS BACKWARDS

ROSE WAS NOT A VILLAIN. SHE WAS THE GOOD PERSON, WE THOUGHT SHE WAS AT THE START OF THE SHOW , BUT UNLIKE STEVEN SHE WAS FROM AN ABUSIVE HOUSEHOLD WHICH IMPACTED HER. Yes. She's a coward, but people need to understand that seeing rose as pink daimond rose WAS pink but went through her arc and became rose. Rose was originally a persona who she slowly became.

DAMN YOU REBECCA FOR WRITING SUCH AN INTERESTING CHARACTER.

Something that I think is so important in steven universe but i see absolutely nobody talk about is the fact that each gem type shares a voice actress.

All pearls are voiced by Deedee Magno Hall (even volley ball which surprised me

All ruby's are voiced by Charlyne Yi, including our beloved main ruby

The lapis lazuli's are voiced by Jennifer Paz

And of course, others, including Michaela Dietz (as the Amethysts) and Amy Sedaris (as the Zircons) + possibly more but you get my point

The reason this is so important is because in the su future episode, Rose Buds, we're introduced to the unbubbled rose quartzes. For those who don't know the leader of the crystal gem, rebellion was a diamond who assumed a fake identity as a rose quartz.

Throughout the episode, steven and the crystal gems are freaking out about the uncanny resemblance until the end of the episode where the rose quartzes and steven realise that instead of being another version of pink diamond to each other they're more akin to siblings .

For me, the immediate most noticeable thing is that the actual rose quartzes have a completely different voice actor (Kimberley brooks) than rose/pink diamond (Susan Eagan)

Which makes sense because pink was only pretending to be a rose quartz. But still throughout stevens arc in steven universe he's battling with idea that he IS his mum yet the simple fact that they have a different voice actor immediately disproves that. And to have that final nail in the coffin that no matter how alike they are they still aren't her and she isn't one of them. Idk if I've explained this well so feel free to add your thoughts but its amazing how it goes unmentioned yet is noticeable when you think about it. Sorry if this sounds stupid idk

i love when character designs just have a ridiculous amount of hair
