13. Your favourite friendship they have?
I have two answers.
1. Fresh Blood era friendship with Tim Drake. Their debate over Batman and the symbol, ans becoming Batman is interesting [Read 2005 Batman Allies Secret Files story too]. They way that both of them are growing into their own at this point, and it's a bit of a direct contention between the two, but they get along still? Super interesting. Love friends who don't get along all the time. Also them both mourned the same and different people. Not quite siblings yet, but good friends.
2. Brenda Miller!
Cass is having a civilian only friend. Cass is learning to be someone outside of the mask. Cass, who is struggling, and Brenda, who is being a good person. I think this connection and friendship is super important to Cass's development as a character and the ultimate payoff to some of the underlining themes from the beginning of Batgirl 2000. Cass from the beginning wouldn't have done a house party and dressed up. It wasn't something Cass cared about.

Luisa is the best older sister since Nani. Her interactions with Mirabel are so positive, and she never treats Mirabel poorly because she doesn’t have a gift. In The Family Madrigal, she smiles at Mirabel and gives her a thumb’s up. In Surface Pressure, she protects Mirabel from anything that may hurt her. There’s even a family photo right before the breakfast scene that shows Luisa with her arm around Mirabel, pulling her into the photo.
She even validates Mirabel’s suspicions about the magic. Despite her emotions being depicted as slightly silly (for kids), the narrative plays it dead serious that Luisa is going through a lot and the only person who really seems to understand that is her baby sister.
Just love Luisa and Mirabel’s relationship. It’s so wholesome.
