Shepherd is one of my favorite characters in the series, but he is a little bit of a mess. See below.
He knows about magic and…. is part of an online community for it
When he was 18, he got drunk for the first time with a creek dryad who told him her life story.
He owes ‘at least 3 imps his firstborn’
Befriended trolls with bone broth
Midwifed a centaur foal
Helped a unfairy with taxes
Swore on his life he wouldn’t tell about the Snowbaz plus penny thing
Went backpacking with a Sasquatch and gave it his toothbrush
Met a water/river spirit… by introducing himself to it
Used to be a storm chaser now chases Magic because it’s more thrilling
Willingly goes into a vampire lair with not much hope of escaping alive.
Starts to try and tell a vampire named Josh his life story some highlights include: ‘My name is Shepard, I’m from Omaha’ and ‘My parents are divorced, how about you’
Tried to warn Josh the vampire that drinking his blood is a really really bad idea
Promptly kills that vampire when the vampire tried.
‘And I am also slightly… a little bit… cursed’
‘Wrong place, wrong time… a series of miscommunications and cultural differences’
The curse left him ‘well and truly fucked’
He’s now an illegal immigrant
He tried to get help from the curse from a genie
He learned of the curse ritual from ‘some guy I met’
He lost his third born child to a giant for the ritual
The demon he summoned? He actually got engaged to it…
He was not forced to marry it, he asked for its hand… on accident
He has tried to hook up with a fairy
It is highly implied that he has gone home with other creatures
He lost his firstborn child to three imps
Lost his last name by telling it to a fairy.
He got an STD from a merperson, but don’t worry, he’s only a carrier
The curse was labeled invalid because of how much if a wreck he is. See above.
The first chapter of my Muslim!Baz fic is OUT XD
i did a few edits and left it there for now because i wanted to get it out before ramadaan started since....well it takes place during ramadaan and since it's a holy month...and i feel weird writing fic during it so it wouldnt get released until after eid otherwise
whaT IS A CANDY BAR? like is it a chocolate bar? a bar of whatever the fuck haribo is made of? like the rest of the book had A* british slang and language but as a british person i have no idea what a candy bar is

Rereading some of my favourite parts of the Simon Snow Trilogy by Rainbow Rowell while I wait for my copy of Scattered Showers to arrive ✨
Is almost here, I'm nearly vibrating with excitement ahahah
My copy of @rainbowrowell's Scattered Showers arrived and this morning I went to the post office to pick it up!!! <3 (Just in time, tomorrow I have to leave to go back to my parents' house for the holidays)
I'm SO HAPPY I don't even have the words! Today I really am the happiest girl in the world! I opened the package while on the bus and started reading Snow for Christmas while we were stuck in traffic… and I didn't even get mad about it. And that says a lot, because I was ten minutes late to a commitment… and I hate being late (well, nothing extremely important, but still)

Currently obsessed with the Simon Snow trilogy and couldn’t help but doodle a BUNCH of Simons and Bazes. This batch is based on Carry On, the first book in the series :)
I don't think smut scenes are supposed to make you cry but clearly Rainbow Rowell didn't get the memo because "If I want him warm, I have to do it myself" and "I can see him, even when I cant, even with my eyes closed- I know him too well" and "Is this was people do? Get as close as they can and then push closer? Burn each other into every gap? And then what? Then just tomorrow and more?" and "Just kiss me for the sake of kissing me" and "I want my sheets to smell like you" and "Be gentle with me...even though you don't have to" and "Don't say please. Why not? Because you don't have to. I'll give you whatever you want" and "I couldn't break him if I tried. I won't try" and "Is this what he wants? Is this what I'm allowed to take?" and "I was never magic" and "Is this magic? Is this enough?" And now I'm sobbing.

Said it before but it bears repeating: by the time Simon explicitly says “Baz could have anyone he wants” it’s not nearly the first time he’s expressing he feels this way, even if he doesn’t realize it.
In CO, when he’s still trying to convince himself (because he is actively trying to convince himself) that he wants the comphet endgame, and he’s jealous because Baz is apparently going after Agatha, it’s never once “of course Agatha attracts attention, look at her, who wouldn’t want her?” Never! It should be, if he ever wanted her like that, and yet. The one time he’s trying to tell himself he wants her, he gives an example that’s not about actually wanting her romantically or being into her, but about projecting things into her beauty (strength and protection!) and about imagining himself in her shoes (imagining how it is to be that beautiful, etc). Instead, attraction and romantic desire is always about Baz. “Of course she would want Baz, who wouldn’t? Look at him. Just Baz being himself is enough to make him attractive and romantically desirable” …. It’s one of the many early signs that Simon is already into Baz long before CO starts, that his romantic jealousy is only about him (and always has been) and he wasn’t into Agatha at any point (comphet)
