Thanquol learned magic under the tutelage of his late master Sleekit. He hated his master, but was motivated to learn. This was mainly due to his desire to be superior to his fellow apprentices, and to one day kill Sleekit and take his place.

Thanquol has travelled to many far away lands on various missions. Each one he seems to hate more than the last, so picking a favourite would be impossible. He’s also not keen on the act of travel itself. Boats bring up bad memories, travelling by foot is exhausting (and unbecoming of a Grey Seer of his status), and magical transportation can be risky. His favourite mode of transport is of course to be carried by Boneripper.

Here’s a reason why skaven are objectively the best concept for a silly army in warhammer.
First, let’s look at the other silly armies.
Gloomspite gitz are already a silly bunch with their fanaticism over the bad moon and their absurd model line up but that’s where it ends for them. The models are silly but the lore is serious and the rules are too. The only silly lore really is the guy who turns people into screaming mushrooms.
The Ossiarch bonereapers while my personal favourite army are not as silly as skaven. Lore wise they act as tax collectors for nagash and have weird bone creations such as the goober that carries bones from the 3rd edition battletome. In terms of models they have the teratic cohort which has the silly centaur bone guy but aside from that the silliness is community generated.
Now let’s cover the skaven.
First off, silliness is baked into skaven as a whole through the fact that they are literal rats that use warpstone in the most strange ways possible such as just shoving chunks of it into rat ogres or basically snorting it as a means of energy. Second, their custom dialect unseen in fiction by randomly repeating certain words in quick succession. Third, on a rules level the special number 13 is not only beneficial (above average aura ranges) but also funny as it’s usually an unlucky number. They also have rules that revolve around blowing themselves up for the fun of it to destroy the opponent. The model lineup is just fantastic too. Ramshackle machines of wood warpstone and scrap metal to form their artillery and the fact that a clanrat is about half the size of an average model is hilarious to me. The abominations are where it gets super weird, especially with the absurdity of the hell pit abominations and their ability names. There’s still so much I could say about them such as all of the really random models like giant rats.
In short, skaven are the silliest army and I love them for that
