CHAPTER SEVEN
When you got back to Wanda and Sharon’s apartment, Wanda couldn’t stop asking you about your weekend away with Steve. Sharon on the other hand was still giving you silent treatment. You stopped trying too. Sharon is a stubborn woman, if she has already decided that she won’t talk to you no one can make her talk to you, no one besides herself.
“So.....Did you guys do it?” Wanda asked wiggling her eyebrows as soon as the blond woman left the apartment.
“No. We didn’t do it.” You watched the change of expressions on her face.
“What do you mean you didn’t do it? You guys were together two nights. Two nights, Y/n and you’re telling me you didn’t do it.” She said; almost shocked by your revelation.
“We were about to but then....” You started; too embarrassed to complete your sentence.
“Then what?”
By the time the two of you got back to the hotel you were a giggling mess; feeling like a teenage girl who was sneaking around with her crush. Your heart was fluttering with anticipation of what was going to happen next. He groaned lightly when he saw a few more people in the elevator; he wanted to fuck you right there but he settled for leaving small kisses in the bare skin of your neck. His breath tickled you and you laughed out loud earning a glare from the elderly women beside you. His hand didn’t leave you for a second; they were on your hips, your butt, everywhere until the two of you reached your suite.
As soon as he closed the door of your suite he slammed you against it and captured your lips with his. One hand digging in your hip and the other sliding through the slit of your dress to the bare skin of your upper thigh. His fingers brushed against the already wet lace fabric covering your crotch, his lips swallowed your moan.
His lips left yours only to travel down the path of your neck; sucking over the warm skin over your pulse; making you weak on your knees. Your hand shot up to tug on his hair and you head tilted sideways to give him more access; like you were inviting him to feast on the skin of your neck. Without saying anything he picked you up and carried you to the king size bed.
Your clothes were ripped off your bodies in less than a minute. The growls leaving his lips were almost animalistic. You were pretty sure you wanted to go along, you wanted him to take you more than anything, you wanted him to make you his more than anything...until, until he slid his boxers down. You looked at the beast and all the confidence flew out of the window. You have only been with two people in your life and neither of them were that big. Saying that Steve was big would be an understatement, he was huge.There was no doubt that if only he went a little faster he would rip you apart. So before things could go any further you stopped him.
When you finished your bit Wanda was laughing her ass off. You were looking at her with an annoyed expression.
“This is not funny, Wands.” You said in a slightly scolding tone.
“You got scared of his Dick?” She asked as if she wasn’t believing what she just heard.
“I wasn’t scared,I was.....intimidated, there's a difference. And if only you have seen it you would be scared too. He is Huge, Wands.”
“Oh, poor baby. Come here.” She opened her arms, stifling her her laugh and you slid in. “So, What did you tell him?”
“Steve.” You started as he approached the bed. “Steve, wait.” You said putting a hand on his chest before he could go any further. “Yeah?” He asked out of breath, eyes blown with lust as he looked down at you. Eyes lingering a little longer on the bare skin of your breast as they heaved from lack of oxygen.
“I don’t think I’m ready.” You said and his eyes snapped to yours with confusion.
“Huh?” He asked as if he couldn’t hear you the first time.
“I don’t think I’m ready to go any further.” He sighed and without saying anything got up and went straight to the bathroom.
“Was he mad?” Wanda asked with a frown.
“Oh no. He wasn’t mad. He came back, we slept, he was nice to me and we just came back.” I told her with a smile.
“So are you gonna tell him, that you didn’t do it because you were scared of his Dick.”
“Again, I wasn’t scared, I was a little intimidated, there’s a difference. And no, what could he possibly do about it? Chop it smaller?”
“Maybe?”
“Hey, it's not funny.”
“Okay, okay. But seriously you should tell him.” Wanda said and you didn’t say anything to that. Maybe you should. But you don’t have to think about it right now.
You were getting ready for your bed that night when your phone buzzed. A big smile spread on your face involuntarily when you read the name on the screen and the text that the said person has sent. It was a simple ‘Busy?’ but it was enough to make you feel weird in your stomach again.
‘No, just getting ready for bed.’ You hit send and you slipped under the cover beside Wanda, who was fast asleep. “What were you doing?”
‘Just finished meeting with a client.’ He replied almost instantly.
‘You’re not home yet?’
‘I’m on my way.’ He replied. The next two hours flew by. When you looked at the clock it was already 1 in the morning. Your eyes widen. You had work and college tomorrow. So with a heavy heart you unwillingly told him good night.
Before going to sleep you checked your emails and saw one from your college. They said they wanted to meet you tomorrow, something regarding the college bills. You decided to meet them tomorrow.
Next afternoon you found you found yourself standing outside your accountant’s office, biting your nail in anticipation. The email didn’t mention the actual reason, it just said something related to your college fees. Fuck them for not being clear over the emails. When the other student finally walked out of the office you knocked on it. A gruff voice told you to come in and you walked inside.
It’s been so long that you have visited this office that you had almost forgotten how Mr. Grylls actually looked. “Mr. Grylls? I’m Y/n Y/l/n. I got an email.”
“Oh yes, Ms. Y/l/n, please take a seat.” Mr. Grylls said pulling out a file which you assumed was yours.
“What is it about, sir?” You asked with a nervous smile.
“Oh no, Don’t worry Ms. Y/l/n. It’s nothing bad. I just wanted to inform you that all your loan and future expenses has been cleared.” He said leaving a surprised look on your face. There was silence in the room for a whole minute, you were too surprised to say anything.
“What?” You finally asked. Mr Grylls realized you had no idea about anything.
“Your-”
“Yes I heard you. By whom?” You asked with an unexpected harsh tone that you instantly felt bad about.
“Mr. Steve Rogers.” He replied and if I said you were surprised before...you were downright shocked now. You half expected your parents but Steve? Why the hell would he pay for your college bills?
“Are you sure, sir?” You asked “Maybe there’s a misunderstanding.”
“No, Ms. Y/l/n there is no misunderstanding. Mr. Rogers paid all your bills.” When you left Mr. Grylls office you were fuming. What the hell was he trying to show exactly? Did he think of you as a charity case? Was he showing how ‘humble’ and ‘Generous’ he is? What was the point of all this?
You didn’t wait for your study group and went straight to Wanda’s apartment. You will go to meet Steve and give him a piece of mind. When you reached the apartment you took out the extra key Wanda gave you and got inside mumbly some not nice profound words for a certain man. You kicked off your shoes and was about to take out your phone from your bag when you saw a figure sitting in the living room. You were almost surprised to see him there. He was looking at you with a big smile on his face like he was very proud of something he has recently done.
“What are you doing here?” You asked not even trying to hide your anger.
“I invited him in, hope it’s okay.” It was Wanda’s voice as she emerged from the kitchen with a cup of coffee in her hand. You looked at her and then back at him and then back at her. Wanda could almost sense the tension between the two of you so before the either of you could utter a word she spoke up again. “I think Sharon asked me to pick her up. I’m gonna go. Your coffee.” She handed the cup to Steve and sprinted out of the apartment before Steve to say Thank you.
“What are you doing here?” You asked your previous question with a much calmer tone, trying to be mature.
“I just wanted to see you.” He said with a small frown.
“Oh you just wanted to see me?” You repeated his words with a sarcastic tone.
“I thought you would be happy to see me, are you not? Did I do something wrong?” He asked, genuinely confused. Either he was used to just blowing away his money or he is just a really good actor, either way he was not helping himself at all.
“For fuck’s sake, Steve, do not act like you don’t know what you did.” You said.
“Well, there are a few things that I have done in my life, I don’t exactly know which one you are mad about.”
“Oh don’t you dare try and and act smart. What the fuck is this?” you said taking out the copy of receipt Mr. Grylls has given you and shoving it in his face.
He only took a second to look at the papers before looking back at you. “Oh that.” Was his response which made you raise an eyebrows.
“Oh that. Oh that? It’s not Oh that, Steve. Its 300,000 dollars.” You said. “But what is it to you, right. It’s nothing for you. But not for me okay? It’s not nothing for me. Money is not nothing for me. I earn what I have and I would like to keep it that way. You pay 1000 dollars for my drinks and refuse to take it back, You give me 100 dollars for tips, but this, this is too much. What are you trying to show. That you can just buy everything? You can buy everyone?” You asked and he was silent, Looking at your face as you lashed out on him. “Is it because I told you I lost my job, I’m homeless, do you think I’m a charity case? Or oh my god is it because I didn’t sleep with you, are you trying to-”
“What, No. God No.”
“Then what are you trying to do? Because I do not understand. You took me to your party as your date and now you are paying for my college expenses? What is this exactly? I can’t live like this Steve, I can’t, I need to pay you back, It can take time but I need to.”
“Fine. Pay me back.” You were confused for a second, did he just agree with you? without any conditions? “But.” Oh there it is. “I won’t accept money.” You frowned again.
“I don’t know what you are talking about.” You said with a confused frown.
“Work for me.”
“Oh right, because I’m just so qualified to work under your company.” You voice was laced with sarcasm.
“You are not gonna work under my company, you are gonna work under me. It’s not an office job.” He replied, not really helping you with your confusion. “You’ll have to accompany me, to every business party, every gala that I attend. No matter in which part of country or world it is, you have to accompany me. You can pay me back like that.” You stayed silent for a second, considering his offer, not like you have any other choice.
“That’s it?”
“It’s not as easy as it sounds, Y/n. You have to help me find clients, You have to talk to people at the Gala. You are not just going as my date, you are my representative, you will make me look good.”
“And what if I mess up?”
“Then you mess up my company, probably my whole job.”
“That’s a hell of a responsibility.”
“It is. No one is forcing you. Just say no, I’ll be on my merry way and won’t bother you again.” You won’t lie, you did consider it for a second.
“What about the money?”
“I told you already, I’m not accepting any money.”
“So I’ll just have to live under the weight of your 300,000 dollars for the rest of my life?”
“Or, you could just say yes. No pressure, take your time. I’m right here.” He said sitting back on the couch, sipping his coffee while you just stood there, dumbfounded. A few minutes later you came up with a reply.
“Why me?”
“Why you? Well, you are smart, Intelligent and you are beautiful there’s no doubt in that. People liked you at the party, specially Tony liked you, which is kind of uncommon.....and, I like you. very much.” He admitted.
“You do?”
“Was there a doubt? Don’t you? Like me?” He stood up again and walked closer to you, not taking eyes off of your face.
“I-I guess.” You said, gulping down your own saliva.
“Then is it a yes?” He said, not stopping till you were toe to toe, you were looking up at him while biting your lips. Damn he was so handsome, it was so hard saying no to him, not that you were going to anyway.
“Yes.” You whispered.
“Good choice. Be ready tomorrow, we are going on a date.”
“A date?”
“I just said I liked you didn’t I?”
“Ummhmm.” He was so close to you now that it was getting hard to breath for you.
“I’ll pick you up at three.” He grabbed his jacket and walked past you to the gate but stopped. “Also, Y/n.” He said and just as you turned around he grabbed you by your waist, putting one hand on the back of your neck he pulled your lips on his, giving you a bruising kiss. “Do not yell at me again.” And with that he walked out.

A/N- Oh my god, guys, how long has it been? 5 years? I’ll be honest with you, no jokes. I haven’t been writing because I’ve been dealing with some mental health issues lately. I hope you all doing well, please take care of your mental health too in this pandemic, it is just as important as your physical health.

You exhaled loudly as you finally got a moment to relax, one of the program support staff of the daycare currently covering for you so you could go to the bathroom.
You absolutely loved working with kids and were striving to be in the field of developmental psychology one day– but for now, while you were still working on your bachelor’s degree, working at a daycare where you could at least observe and work with kids and their development would have to do. You loved every second of it, but it was certainly exhausting taking care of eighteen toddlers. Thankfully, you had the help of other toddler teachers; there was no way you could have done it yourself.
You had only just recently switched to working full days; now that it was summer vacation, you could work from 9 to 6 as a closer rather than only going for a few hours here and there before or after your classes. It was your third day of working full time, and while it was a lot, you were still happy with the job.
You felt especially attached to one of your toddlers. Lincoln Rogers, or more commonly referred to as Linc, was a bright, happy, and cheeky boy, and although he had his naughty moments, he just had so much personality you could not help but be in love. He seemed to be especially fond of you too, constantly following you around, liking to cling to you, and even crying when you left for your lunch break.

It was 6:05 PM and Steve had still not shown up, despite the daycare technically closing at 6. It was not too rare for some parents to run late, especially with rush hour traffic, and so you were not too worried. It wasn’t like you ever got to leave right at 6 anyways, considering you had to clean up and shut down the room.
It was only you and Linc in the room; Stephanie and the other children had left. The only people in the building were you and the director of the center, who was really only still there because she locked up the place after everyone was gone. Linc was starting to get fussy; his mother normally picked him up at five, and it was clear that the extra hour of being there was tiring him, especially after having seen every other child leave with their mothers and fathers. He was currently snuggled up to you on your lap as you sat against some pillows in the little cozy “library” area of the room, holding onto you tight with his head buried in your chest, whimpering every now and then while simultaneously dozing off.

For the rest of that week, Steve dropped off and picked up Linc from daycare, much to you and your coworkers’ delight. Besides his enthralling looks, he was a genuinely charming and kind person, and it was easy to keep up conversation with him. He did not come past 6 again, but he did generally come at around 5:45 or 5:50, which still had Linc being the only toddler left in the class with you.

It was around 9 PM when your phone screen lit up with a call from Steve. You had come home with a blend of emotions, mainly disappointment and even a little irritation. You had been considering reaching out to Peter and asking if he wanted to hang out, but you felt too disheartened even for that. All you could think about was what you could have done wrong, or what could have possibly happened in 24 hours that made Tiana and Steve want to fix all of their issues. Were you selfish for being upset about that? Wouldn’t this be better for Linc? What were you thinking, anyways, even envisioning that you and Steve could work out together? He was a grown man, for God’s sake, what would your friends and family think?
And so you declined the call, too upset at this point to even want to hear his voice. He was persistent; he tried two more times and you hit the red icon, adamant in your decision. You wondered if he would send a text, and sure enough, a message appeared.
Steve: Let me explain everything. Please.

While he was laughing and enjoying his beer with his friends, Peter couldn’t help but continuously look towards the door, hoping you would come soon.
He was truly alright with you only wanting friendship and nothing more for the time being; of course he had been disappointed, but he had always been a sweet and considerate guy. He could appreciate friendship unlike most guys in his age range, he wasn’t the type to insist a girl date or sleep with him. Besides, if you were to date him someday, you would most certainly be worth the wait in his opinion. Still, he would remind himself that he couldn’t simply expect that or that he should keep his hopes up. TIANA
They met in graduate school. Both in their early twenties, figuring out life, trying to balance the demanding expectations of their classes and the fun times with their friends.
They had been in the “honeymoon phase” since before they even started dating. Tiana remembered every single detail about the night they first met. A mutual friend’s party, she was wearing a brand new top she had just bought that day itself on a spontaneous shopping trip with her best friends paired with jeans that made her legs look amazing, as Steve would tell her later that night. It was practically a cliche movie moment; they locked eyes across the room and couldn’t stop staring. Steve approached her, his blue eyes bright, blond hair neatly trimmed, jawline chiseled, the sleeves of his nice shirt hugging his built biceps. If she wasn’t in love already, their conversation was even more appealing. They found a corner to themselves and talked about everything under the sun. The little things, such as the weird insect Steve found under a rock while he was camping when he was six and the best piece of pizza Tiana had ever eaten in her life in New York City just last week. The big things, too. Steve reflecting on his mother’s death when he was young, and Tiana discussing her experiences with bulimia when she was a mere middle schooler.
