I’d like to join a great game which is created by @sub-at-omic-studies. I’ll answer one question per day. Day 1: Lets start easy what subject(s) are you studying? I’m studying architecture with additional courses about urbanism. I’m in love with huge-scale structures.

Day 2: What inspired you to take your subject(s)?

Tbh, I’ve always known that I’ll be an architect. It was just a feeling. I was like three years old when I first said that I would draw and build houses for others. Then in kindergarten I could call it “an architect”. It was just like an obligation for me. I was dreaming about those studies my whole life. And now, when I see how the market and the whole process looks like - I don’t wanna be an architect, despite the fact that I’m in love with architecture from the bottom of my heart. The day when I realized, that my whole life was driving me to that point, where I’m doing what I don’t really want to do was like a punch in the face.

So yeah. It’s like my sibling, which I have love-hate relationship with. It will be always with me, no matter what.

Day 3: Where/When do you get most of your work done?

I can only work at quiet space. Also that’s why I had to move out from my family house during my bachelor’s diploma. My brain can focus only at home, at my desk. Sometimes I have to work at cafe or between lectures, but it’s not efficent as my safe, quiet corner at home.

Day 4: What is your favourite topic within your subject(s)?

Tbh... I really enjoy research about human behavior in different places or with different structures and colors. It is related to my field, but often neglected. So last year I wrote an essay on neuroaesthetics and delved into the subject on my own. I asked my therapist to recommend me a book on environmental psychology and a textbook on basic psychology. It really helps in designing good spaces! I think it should be made one of the most important compulsory subjects in architecture studies. How can you design for people without knowing how their brains work?

combining.

Day 6: Where would you like your subject to take you?

I have no expectations. Ever since I felt I didn't want to work in architecture, I got carried away. I don't put pressure on myself. For now, the most important for me is to be happy.

Day 7: What interesting fact have you learned recently?

There is a park in France, where the lawn is mowed by sheep because it is an old battlefield. It has not been investigated whether there are any unexploded ordnance in the area, so as part of preventing human tragedy, sheep "mow" the grass instead of mowers led by people.

Day 8 : What do you find difficult within your subject(s)?

Fire regulations. Physics and construction design are nothing to the fire regulations. You don't even know how happy I am that this semester I don't have projects where I have to draw escape routes and mark fire resistance classes.

Day 10: What subject related book would you recommend to read?

It’s not directly related to architecture, but in general to design. It’s “The Design of Everyday Things” by Don Norman. It teaches about perception and human preferences. That’s a great literature to understand design.

Day 11: Do you have any hobbies or special talents?

I love drawing. I love being creative. I have a lot of interests, and that’s my problem. Sometimes I cannot being focused on one activity. I love sculpting, painting, playing electric guitar, playing video games, crocheting, learning languages. But if I would choose, the one which is easier for me than to others, it will be drawing. I can call it talent, but I really don’t like to name it like that. I think all my skill is from practise.

Day 12: What’s a movie you enjoy that’s related to your field of study?

“12 Angry Man” from 1957 - not directly connected with my field, but I feel I have to share this title to you. I am really honored that the best and the smartest character is an architect. It’s a great movie. One of my fav, I can say.

This movie has a very simple plot, but it reveals the greatest human regrets, envy, beliefs. How subjective it all is depending on private experience. Yeah, a great movie. You have to watch it!
