so i got this comment and there’s so much 2 this that i rly didn’t hav the space 2 just reply 2 it normally so i decided 2 screenshot and reblog instead bc i think a lot of ppl hav this opinion so i wanted 2 address it, so let’s break this bullshit down, since im trans myself i know a bit abt the trans community so i feel like i speak w/ some authority on the topic, obvs don’t go after or harass this person im just using their comment as an example  1] no1 is forcing u 2 go on a date w/ them this is literally the exact same bs argument that conservatives used when gay marriage was legalized, the gay ppl aren’t gonna force any1′s wife 2 marry a lesbian and us trans ppl aren’t forcing u 2 date us either 2] yes ppl r entitled 2 boundaries but given how quiet im willing 2 bet u r when all the transphobic bills in the US get proposed and when ppl r talking abt how kids should b forced 2 hav their genitals inspected b4 competing in a gendered sports team 2 make sure their not trans and the constant bs trans ppl hav 2 deal w/ in our day 2 day lives i rly doubt that ur issue is w/ ppl not respecting the personal boundaries of others, but let’s b charitable 4 a sec and assume u do care, ok, like i said in point 1, literally no1 is forcing u 2 date a trans person, just like no1 is forcing straight ppl 2 get gay married just bc gay ppl can legally get married now 3] yes some ppl r not comfortable w/ dating some1 w/ certain genitals and that’s their right but u don’t need 2 use that as an excuse 2 b transphobic, there’s a difference between saying “i don’t want 2 date any1 w/ a dick” or “i don’t want 2 date any1 w/ a pussy” and saying “i don’t want 2 date any trans person”, additionally there’s the assumption there that trans ppl keep the genitals that they were born w/ which isn’t true 4 every1, some trans ppl get surgery 2 change their genitals, some don’t but this argument that it’s “genital attraction” doesn’t take that into consideration at all and the “superstraight” “”sexuality”” sure as shit doesn’t either it just says that they don’t want 2 date any trans ppl not that they don’t want 2 date ppl w/ the same genitals as them and considering that some trans women hav pussies and some trans men hav dicks that means it’s not just “genital attraction” unless ur going under that assumption which is also rooted in transphobia, the idea that trans ppl always keep the genitals they had at birth is mainly rooted in transphobic ““jokes”” that mainstream media likes 2 make at the expense of trans women, so no it’s not a “genital attraction” thing it’s a ppl not wanting 2 date [insert minority group here] thing, if there was a group of ppl trying 2 muscle their way into the queer community bc “they don’t want 2 date black ppl” every1 would recognise that 4 what it is, racism, and considering that there r ppl who “just hav a preference of not wanting 2 date black ppl” and most ppl can recognize that it’s racist then u should b able 2 recognize “just not wanting 2 date trans ppl” as transphobic unless ur rly abt 2 try 2 tell me that “just not wanting 2 date black ppl” somehow isn’t racist and “it’s attraction ur not owed a date” 4] again, literally no1 has been harassing any1 2 date trans ppl, just like no1 is harassing any1 2 get gay married 5] no it’s not homophobic 4 a straight girl 2 turn down a lesbian but this is a false equivalency and 1 that kinda betrays [much like the name of the “sexuality” superstraight] that u don’t actually c trans ppl as the gender they r u just c us all as our assigned gender at birth which is transphobic 6] i just wanted 2 point out that the name “superstraight” also implies that ppl who do date trans ppl r less straight somehow which is an idea that fuels a lot of violence against trans ppl, particularly any1 who experiences transmysoginy, ppl hav been killed over that idea and given that “superstraight” originated on nazi 4chan [which i talked abt in the reblog of the original post which went up b4 this comment] it wouldn’t surprise me if that was the point  and just in case the “ur not owed a date” comment was aimed at me specifically 2 try 2 insinuate that’s the only reason that i personally think this blatant transphobia is transphobic and 2 try 2 take away from the point i was making, im already dating some1 and we’re both trans so yeah, rly didn’t feel like letting this transphobia just sit and fester on my blog and if any of my followers r offended by me standing up 4 myself and other trans ppl then u can leave, this blog isn’t 4 u, go shove a bible up ur arse or whatever it is u transphobes do in ur spare time
