Accounts differ so markedly that Tess must remain forever a mystery in the annals of history.
just a reminder that representation is important for everyone. watching the last of us with my parents and i asked my mom what she thought and she said “I loved that that woman (tess) looked like a normal middle aged woman. She wasn’t done up, she isn’t built like a model, she was just a normal looking woman.” the fact that they had cast a middle aged woman to play a middle aged woman and did nothing to try and “improve” her looks or make her look younger really resonated with my mom, a middle aged woman. she was seeing herself in this character and isn’t used to that.
