heres a random fact 4 a random show, theres a behind the scenes vid 4 the 2009 reboot/re-imagining of the electric company, and do u know the show won a emmy in 2010 for outstanding achivement in main title design? thats how good the intro was!
RIP to Poptropica - I’ve lost hope that you will ever get your islands back (The *good* ones. The *hard* ones. The thought provoking and honestly devastatingly sad ones. Cryptid, Monster Carnival, Mystery Train, Game Show….Come back to meeeee)
RIP to Webkinz - I can’t keep buying new pets to keep playing the game if you NO LONGER SELL THE PETS (I’m not buting those frickin ugly new ones and I’m certainly not buying just the code; I want a physical lil fluffball to watch as their online persona absolutely destroys Smoothie Moves)
RIP to Club Penguin - New Club Penguin and Club Penguin Rewritten will never be the same (Also give me more PSA missions you cowards, I can take it!)
RIP to Pixie Hollow - I haven’t played you since I was 7 years old but then you died and it was awful
RIP to the games on the websites of Nick Jr., PBS Kids, and Disney - They did you so dirty, you used to be ten times the size you are now (Backyardigans Robin Hood the Clean and that one Electric Company game - I miss you)
RIP to Build-a-Bear - both the online virtual world game and the workshop (The stores have been devoid of life at *least* since Justice moved online)
RIP to Innerstar University and all of the good American Girl Doll games - I was so good at that cupcake baking job
RIP to my 2010s childhood, which died with the Adobe flash player and honestly way before that 😔
Omg CHIDI???? CHIDI ANAGONYE???!!!!
Damn, he can SING
I think some of Lin Manuel Miranda’s best work was from his time on The Electric Company. Don’t believe me? Here’s an example:
This show is so criminally underrated, and then you realize that it had lots of celebrity guests, like the aforementioned Lin, Jimmy Fallon (Which Billie Eilish once mentioned was the first time she saw him),
Ne-Yo,
Not to mention the songs by the main cast, like this one
It was truly a product of its time, and I absolutely love it and more people should know about it.

ELECTRIC COMPANY POST IN 2024??
I never understood why they couldn't just refilm the group shots for the Season 3 intro with Marcus and Gilda being new, and Lisa going off to do her science program.

In spite of this, I really appreciate the fact that they were able to keep the shots and animation for the new kids consistent with the original cast. They truly deserve all of the Emmys ever.

The other Pranksters would also be working there, though they wouldn't be buddy-buddy with the Electric Company.
I know that Danny would be cooking up some anchor charts for his class of first graders. He's definitely got a list of rules hanging in the back of his room, bullet points and doodles penned in smelly markers. His daily messages are a huge hit with students, too. They spend their mornings trying to work through rebuses. He's very particular about how he runs things—think how Gregory first planned out the entire school year by the minute. The Electric Company doesn't appreciate how he gets so crazed when his routine gets thrown off.
Annie is 100% an art teacher. She's coming in every single day with a coordinating outfit; she's got a growing collection of bright funky headbands, belts, and cute earrings at home. Annie loves switching up the projects from year to year, working with as mediums as she can get her hands on. She proudly displays each piece that was made in her class out in the hall. I just know that she would be encouraging students to pursue the arts outside of school hours, opening up her room for anybody who still wants to create and design when the final dismissal bell rings. She'd be jealous of the Electric Company for their even tighter bonds with her students; so many people come and go through her room that it's hard to get to bond with everybody. Along with her budget being cut and those funds diverted to the main classrooms, she finds it hard to not take her anger out on the Electric Company.
Manny handles the middle grades as a STEM teacher. He thinks that theoretical lectures are extremely boring and has made his class into a graded practical course. Admins for the district are astounded every time they walk into his workshop of a classroom. There's a short maglev track with hovering cars, a marble run made out of cut-up paper towel rolls that reaches the ceiling, and of course, robots of all kinds. He wants his students to take over the world with their glorious minds. This does come at the expense of the Electric Company's sanities, who are losing sleep over this new generation of pranksters.
Concept: an Abbott Elementary AU for the 2009 The Electric Company with the Electric Company as teachers and Francine as the principal (not sure what to do about the other Pranksters though)

i think it's very interesting how the 80% of The Electric Company (2009) is a latent memory in my brain. Like, no joke, I rewatched an episode for Jack McBrayer reasons, and seeing all of the word segments in between was like waking up a set of sleeper agents---but they're all still a little sleepy so they're a bit fuzzy on all the instructions.
And then there's the entirety of Prankster Planet, which I also saw a video of just now and it's like??? Take me back??
This song feels like a part of that 20% I don't remember, which is frankly a shame since Manny and Danny are absolutely busting it up on this song.
Also this song feels like a retrieval cue for a different song, but I do not know what it is. best I've got is "Answers" by Goldfinger (which I'm adding below for fun), but my brain is not satisfied with that answer, so if you see this, please send any similar sounding songs my way!
