Im losing my mind and trying to pick up the pieces and recover from reading Banshee In A Well.

reading Banshee In A Well made me realise I go crazy for angsty af protagonists that play the violin, not really the cause but this fic and The Children's Rebellion is more than a mere coincidence.

I love it when fics have accompanying songs that just fits the mood like it elevates the entire experience

KDJ and Tim Drake often being used as unreliable narrators has me going insane. Like. Yes. My sad blorbos that do not believe they are loved.

*crumbles into a heaping mess*

The constant mention of Tim feeling like he's 'drowning again' whenever he hits a new low is so painful. No matter his other gruesome deaths, everytime he gets hurt (emotionally), has him feeling like the 5 yr old little boy who drowned quietly in the pool, alone.

SCREAMING!!!

Firstly, my favourite dynamic in the fic was Tim & Cass

Best siblings ever, the last chapter gave me so much healing. She really was there for Tim and comforted him.

Arms wrap around him, warm and familiar, a head of black hair tucking into his neck as he freezes. Cassandra has always been the strongest of them all, and he can feel it in the way she’s gripping him like he’ll disappear any moment now, body trembling and face wet from where it’s pressed against his skin.

Carefully, Tim brings his arms up to hold Cass back. She’s always cried loudly, almost out of spite for the silence beaten into her as a child. But right now, she weeps without a sound. He swallows, his own eyes burning as he buries his face into her collarbone, fingers twisting into the sweater he recognises as his own.

Neither of them says a word for a while. They just hold onto one another and try to breathe.

“I am not leaving. Not again. Not anymore.”

“Cass,” he says, voice dangerously close to cracking, but she just squeezes his wrists gently.

“It is not okay,” she whispers brokenly, but with a kindness he hates and loves in equal measure, “and that is alright.”

“Cry, stupid,” she says, voice trembling.

And Tim-

Tim breathes.

And he finally breaks.

He collapses forward into his sister, chest heaving with sobs that practically tear their way out of his throat, and it hurts more than any death he’s died before. Cass is crying with him, loud and open, but she doesn’t stop holding him, she doesn’t let him go for a second.

(God I eat up all these quotes from the fic. THE AUTHOR IS AMAZING I LOVE THEIR WRITING SO MUCH) *proceeds to ugly cry during every reread*

Just finished reading ‘Take It Back Now Y’all’ by TimTheToaster and god am I emotionally fucked up rn

Oh my god YESS!! The psychological impact this fic had on me, I was messed up sobbing but the comfort of being at your lowest and having your sibling around, your found family, believing you and trusting you. AHHHHHHHH

It’s like their souls are tied and always meant to, at the very least, cross paths with one another in every lifetime 😭😭😭

thinking about "a mediation on railroading" where tim's making his way across the country back to gotham alone after, circumstances. and out of nowhere he stumbles upon jason, hundreds of miles away from home.

and it's got me thinking about the statistical improbability of that entire scenario, but also how it'd be funny if that's just the type of thing that happens between the batkids on a regular basis.

like they don't always have to be halfway across the country, or in the most dire of situations, but they always find each other when they shouldn't be.

one of the kids is losing a fight, captured, or left for dead? you can bet it's going to be a sibling that finds them.

damian's dealing with jerks from school, on a field trip a couple of towns over. it just so happens jason's there on work, in full red hood get up, and he sees the kids. he has a word with them, no one knows what he said, but the kids quietly apologise to damian and stop bothering him.

tim's been kicked out of his house again, and finds a cafe to sit in while his dad cools off, and it's dick who coincidentally walks in to the same cafe on his lunch break, and convinces tim to tag along with him on the rest of his work day, and encourages him to stay at wayne manor for the night.

there's also the instances of jason, minding his own business, patrolling streets, or doing mundane things like grocery shopping. but whatever it is, he's lucky to have one outing without one of his siblings approaching him out of nowhere. (whether or not some of them do it on purpose is up for debate)

binged Scientific Method by vogon_poet about 2 months ago and this fic single handedly dragged my ass into Harry Potter 😭

ALSO I AM A SLYTHERIN!TIM TRUTHER!!!! MY BOY IS SO BADASS I LOVE HIM!!! He’s so smart and science-ing the fuck out of magic, I loved it when transfiguration finally clicked. Amazing writing from the author!!

AND I LOVE HOW THE AUTHOR MERGES TIM AS A WIZARD AND TIM AS ROBIN!!!!! It’s such a great balance between keeping Batman canon and letting Tim explore being a wizard and how he impacts the wizarding world, and the mix of magic martial arts is so cool.

I want to draw Tim and Blaise next, I adore their friendship!!

ps Tim is actually good at potions (the facial expression is just funny)
