The P Stands For Prints - Tumblr Posts

Once in a blue moon, I actually paint something. Whoo.

I’m finally doing something that makes me somewhat happy. Woo!

Fun Snake Fact: There is a snake that’s actually poisonous. That’s right, poisonous, not venomous.
In the Pacific Northwest, there’s a small, harmless snake (the garter snake) with a wide-ranging diet. One particular population preys mostly upon newts containing tetrodotoxin (apparently acquired from bacteria; the same chemical is the toxin in pufferfish). As a result of their prey’s super-potent nerve toxin, the snakes have evolutionarily modified the sodium channels in their nerves to be less responsive to that toxin.
However, tetrodotoxin takes a while to break down. The tetrodotoxin disappears fairly fast from most of the snake’s tissues, except for their livers, which it accumulates in large quantities for long periods of time. This has the potential effect of making these snakes toxic to many of their native predators, especially birds, making this type of snake technically a poisonous snake.

This picture was inspired by the folk tale of how Crow stole the sun.

Art Prompt: Mother Tongue

@airshipsfullofpuppies (I also have a colored version, if you want to see that) Wasn’t sure how to “fuck up” a fox, so I just made it have a terrible mouth and dramatic shading. I crammed as many teeth as I could into it. Ended up being pretty dope though.

Here's the colored version! I ended up being pretty happy with the shading and everything, just felt it was a bit spookier in the inky/black and white version

This was HEAVILY inspired by Gustave-Adolphe’s MOSSA Firebirds. I don’t consider this to be a copy. I consider it to be a distorted version of it, a version I love very much.

Inspired by Love, or Something This is my first mixed media thing, and I’m actually super happy with it.

Now this one, of English Ivy, I like a lot more. Tell me, how does it make you feel?
