Time Princess - Tumblr Posts
Good day to everyone in the Napoleonic segment of Tumblr once again! šŗ
I humbly assume, there is no bad timing for some āNapoleonic-related-game-world-newsā, so here we are. :)
Wonāt describe my own gaming history as itās another long story to tellā¦ However, I will make a remark that I am a gamer who have enjoyed such leisure activity on many platforms - PSP-gaming, computer gaming, console gaming, phone gaming as well. Speaking of the latter, there is one game in particular that fascinates me till nowadays. Itās called āTime Princessā and it is, in a nutshell, an interactive novel with the core dress-up mechanics.
The gameās name says it all: there is a main heroin who gains the ability to relive countless stories through, pretty much, any writing source available in this world. Those stories are based on different historical epochs, mythologies, classical literature pieces and so on, and so forth. The sole requirement for each story is straight-forward simple: the main character should beā¦ female! Thatās why there are some stories based on world famous classics where the main characters went through gender swap: for example, not āRomeo and Julietteā but āRomy and Juliusā; a āSwan Lakeā story where prince Siegfried becomes princess, while Odette and Odile are known as Aldous and Audwin. These changes are looking not that bad, actually, and are quite enjoyable during the play through.
There are also many original stories set in modern or future times, several interpretations of famous womenā biographies (which I would never discuss on serious terms as thereās too little left from the real-life historical personalities: their characters - as well as actual historical events - go through such drastic changes for the plotās sake that itās sometimes impossible to recognise them at all) and classical literature adaptations with canonical female characters aka āPhantom of the Operaā or āLittle Womenā.
Still, Iām here to speak about Napoleonic era as always. And in āTime Princessā there are no stories based on that memorable epoch (yet, dare I say - since Iām starting to believe that there is a possibility). What made me mention this lovely game on the Napoleonic agenda, then? Well, big thanks to one specific in-game event which comes to an end soon!
In short, it was an ambitious collaboration between āTime Princessā and one of the most famous museums in the world - MusĆ©e du Louvre in all its timeless beauty. There were many wonderful activities, mini-games and other stuff to do but the best gift - best gift for all the Napoleonic era lovers, of course - came in the very end of it.
Thus, behold la grande finale (or is it better to say ādas groĆe Finaleā? š) together with us: the magnificent set of clothes inspired by coronation robes of Marie Louise, erzherzogin of Austria, empress of the French! š¦š¹š«š·š

The full set is called āMidnight Viennaā and makes an obvious accent on Marie Louise origins and heritage. The descriptions of each piece of clothing are unbelievably pathetic and romantic, while the historical foundation isā¦ wellā¦ How do I put it mildly? Many fellow enjoyers of Napoleonic history would be probably crying bloody tears over that one-sided interpretation of martyrdom and excessive exaltation.
But, despite all the cringy aspects, I believe the designers and software developers made a very good job in keeping overall resemblance to the classic silhouette many love and adore!
Just look at all those wonderful details: jewellery, embroidery, simple but gracious ornamentsā¦

Itās also noted in game that the dress itself was āfreely inspired by an engraving of Empress Marie-Louise by Louis-Adolphe Portierā which is, of course, preserved in the department of graphic arts in the MusĆ©e du Louvre.
In the end, I was able to find the original engraving which was mentioned - Iām attaching it as well. šŗ

And even though Iām very, very sceptical of any biographical adaptations which may come after such lovely representation, itās undoubtedly nice to see the reminders of Napoleonic era beauty in any spheres of our everyday lives. š

ya'll I am HEALING

āyouāve caught me pei-pei!ā
(please donāt repost this to other sites, just link my post if youād like to share it, thank you!)

I know this isn't what I usually post, but when I was looking in the events in Time Princess, I saw this.
If this isn't a sign of SoL chapter 2, I don't know what is at this point.
My vote is for Vincent. Why? Here's my reasoning
Vicent: He's an og. He's a part of one of the older stories. His personality is well developed with his shares of woes and triumphs. He is mysterious but still cares for others as he's an outlier of his race as he refuses to drink the blood of a human. As much as we know about him and the elder, we don't know much about him. He still remains a mystery, which helps us readers stay interested in him since we want to know what and who he is, "did he kill Jesse?" Or "Who the hecky hack is Hawke?" Are common questions we ask of him. Also, who doesn't love a vampire?
Charles: He's your typical bad boy apart of a time period that is over romanticized. Sure, he's a good character as with Vincent. They both share trails and tribulations with his own shares of accomplishments. But then again, we know a lot about him, not in the hooks, but in history together since Charles Vane was a real historical figure. Sometimes, in certain chapters, he just makes me... uncomfortable at times.

Vote for Bianca Finch!

Kihrin:
He's my special little guy. The name Rook is only really used in the first book, however do note it was because he was dedication to the thief aesthetic including dying his hair black. Other characters have mocked him for this
Bianca:
She's the most badass 1920's alternate history woman to have ever... well, to have ever hung on the side of a wrecking train in the middle of a snowstorm to detache empty wagons and save everyone. To have taken a time travel machine to go back in time and save someone she had barely known for a few days. To have ever foiled a bomb attack in a night train.

Dr. Kappa is hilarious, I laughed at this more than I should've š

Sophie:
She's The Moonlark. Like literally. Her existence was kept secret until she was like 11 and her code name was Moonlark. But also she's basically the equivalent of a moonlark, a bird from the book, which lays eggs at sea and hopes its hatchlings will get home safely. Like the fact the people who created her left her almost all alone in the human world, hoping nothing bad would befall her. To be fair, she only ended up once in the hospital and was almost kidnapped once in eleven years, which is way less than what happened in six months once she got back among her people.
I'll will probably get death threats from this, but Vittorio is kinda mid *dodges tomatoes*

I can't believe it š„¹
